between kakashi's exam at the beginning of the anime and sasuke leaving the village, there's approximately one year. ONE ENTIRE YEAR.

i wish we could've gotten to see team 7 be kids in that year. bonding. doing normal genin stuff. this might be an unpopular opinion but i wish we'd gotten more episodes like the one where they try to see under kakashi's mask. that one was so wholesome :')

i would kill the entire boruto series for more filler episodes that stick to canon and show us team 7's training during that year, when they weren't in important missions or going through life-changing experiences.

maybe that's bc after sasuke leaves he just stays gone for nearly the entire anime, but idk. i think naruto's longing for sasuke in the entirety of shippuden made me long for them as a team too. knowing there's an entire year that went by in between kakashi's genin exam and sasuke leaving makes me miss the moments that we never saw bc they weren't plot relevant.

sorry if youve already talked about this, but i wanted to get your thoughts on sasuke in these panels..maybe im looking too much into it and its not that deep, but i was rereading gaiden recently and i just feel like theres something here im missing. sakura even looks a little confused/worried in the bg. the way he talks is kinda cryptic, especially with how they put quotation marks around "cooperation". like?? am i crazy or is there something going on here. its like hes vaguely referring to something that only he and naruto know about. not to mention how sullen he seems...what do you think?

No you're not imagining it, Sasuke is clearly a bit sad and snidey here. Naruto looks taken aback by his words too, sweating nervously. Naruto didn't hesitate wanting to go with Sasuke and leaving his own family in the process, but Sasuke declined his offer.

It seems Kishi left it up in the air what's going on here, but clearly it's to show not everything is okay between these characters. Sakura is like a third wheel here, also very nervous.

Sasuke knows Naruto loves him, and Naruto knows Sasuke loves him. But Sasuke also knows Naruto felt hesitant and conflicted, with all the expectations and burdens on his shoulders. They both had even bigger responsibilities now after the war.

And while it's obvious Kishi wrote them to be in love, he can't say it too obviously, so he leaves these clues for us to patch together, to make some sense of why the hell are they married to Hinata/Sakura. He will leave implications that Sasuke never kissed Sakura, that Naruto doesn't want to go home even if Shikamaru could take over his mundane duties like counting on headbands. He will write some bimbo fangirls fawn over Naruto and Hinata walking in the park, talking about how they make a perfect couple because Naruto is the war hero/Hokage candidate and Hinata is the heiress of the Hyuga clan. Very shallow reasons, and we know how Kishi isn't too fond of fangirls. But those reasons make sense, considering NH marriage is appearance only, without the kind of deep love Naruto feels for Sasuke. Naruto settled for her, because that's what everyone expects from him.

And Sasuke isn't happy. But he loves Naruto, so he will stand by his side regardless. And in Boruto manga, there was the scene where Sasuke gave his headband to Boruto, and Boruto asked if it's okay, isn't this the symbol of the bond between you and my dad (which shows Kishi definitely didn't forgot, which some people might otherwise claim)? If you remember, at the end of chapter 699 Sasuke said he will keep holding onto it until him and Naruto finally settle things between the two of them. The chapter where Sasuke gave Boruto the headband and talked with him also had Sarada and Mitsuki at the same time talk about one's true, inner romantic feelings and being honest about them. Mitsuki suggested Sarada likes Boruto like that, and Sarada suggested the same about Mitsuki liking Boruto as well. Like? And Sarada also reminds us once again that Sasuke spends more time with Boruto than with her. Lol.

So yeah, that moment is just yet another clue to show Naruto and Sasuke aren't happy with their lives, but they are doing their best for the sake of the future. But since Sasuke gave away the headband, it feels like something is gonna happen...

Naruto is my absolute babyboy, but my fuck, do I hate who he's become in Boruto, and I gotta hold him accountable.

(Like, the naruto antis are ppl I usually scoff at, but damn do they have points about this)

The reason most of us can't stand this show has nothing to do with something as silly as ships (or at least I hope not)(listen, actually, I could talk about how nh's and ss's relationships negatively affect Naruto and Sasuke, but ultimately, it's really not about that)

It's because it messes with both Naruto and Sasuke, their characters and their convictions. How the fuck did 17 year old Sasuke go from hating the system and all it upholds, from understanding that this shit isn't okay, to someone who is essentially a lapdog?? Um, no

And Naruto? Sweetheart, what happened to the promises to both your friends and enemies? Where did your desire to end the cycle of hatred go? Why are you okay with changing fundamentally nothing after promising that you'll turn everything around? Where did your numerous realizations about the faults of Konoha and the Shinobi world and the cycle of hatred go?

Like, I feel as though through the entirety of Naruto, we were constantly beaten over the head with the fact that nothing is okay about the current way of the world, and in the end, the goal was 'become Hokage to turn these things around' ?

And then Boruto comes, and holy shit, nothing has changed and Naruto has entirely forgotten everything his 17 year old's self had seen, promised and decided.

I feel like Boruto just entirely diminishes everything that happened in Shippuden, and that annoys me.

(All this said, I should clarify I have not watched Boruto nor do I intend to. These are just all things I've inferred through seeing clips here and there, and other people's takes on Boruto, so if I'm not getting something right, then oops) (the vast majority of the clips I've seen are sns moments, because somehow we're still getting fed even though they're both married and got kids 💀)

I can only assume Caprico uses medical steel for parts that are meant to connect with his body. He's not stupid, I don't think he'd have such a simple oversight as to use a metal that can corrode and/or rust. Especially for the chest piece. Medical steel is not supposed to rust.

Titanium is one such metal and it's used in prosthetics. I can definitely see him using that material, along with some silicone mesh.

Although, seeing as electricity is being conducted through his limbs and titanium is not a good conductor... There could also be some copper involved? (That one also doesn't rust).

But! Because electricity is being conducted, maybe sitting in water Does Make Him Feel Weird. I guess that would only be the case if he'd activate that function while taking a bath, which. Uh. Why? (But you could argue his chest piece needs constant energy; electricity? Because it's probably connected to his heart, if it's not part of his actual heart)

I'm also thinking he could be A Lite Bath Disliker because of um. His Torture Pool Experience™ in North.

it's supposed to be one comedic scene for sasuke to declare his desire to be a hokage in war arc and the still fandom CLOWNS him for it despite sasuke having an actual reason to be one.

Sasuke had his entire clan murdered by his dear older brother leaving him as an orphan and he spent his entire childhood and teenage years as an avenger chasing after that said older brother in hunger for revenge. When he finally kills his older brother and believes that he avenged his parents and clan, he faces an uncomfortable truth. His older brother was apparently forced by the government of his own motherland to commit genocide against his clan. The revenge sasuke spent years on vanished into nothing and yet again remained uncompleted. He also realises that his very dear older brother's last wish was for sasuke to protect his own motherland and so the only conclusion he could come up with is to replace the pathetic corrupt government and TRULY avenge his people and protect his country at the same time.

The sad constraints of shônen

I just read this post and, aside from making me question really, what the fuck Kishimoto intended by publishing Naruto in the most shônen of shônen magazines, reminded me of a recent conversation I had with a friend.

We had not seen each other in like eighteen years so it was a pleasant surprise to find out he also enjoyed anime and manga. However, my heart broke when he told me he had not enjoyed Naruto like, at all. He had missed the point of the story. I was about to start a fierce defense of this big piece of my heart when something occurred to me and said: "Try watching it as if it were a romance." I swear I could see his whole world realigning behind his eyes.

So yeah, what was the plan Kishi? I feel like you shot yourself in the feet.
