I went to a local convention yesterday, and got some stuff, pretty much all art related.

In order:

A comic called The Bonds thats seemed interesting and has nice art

A postcard of Anya Forger being a gremlin that I had to get once I saw it

Two art sketch commisions, the first being of Yosemite from National Park Girls, and the later being Malt Marzipan from Fuga: Melodies of Steel. The artist's handle is @/actualegremlin.

Another postcard that just looked cute(it's not of any actual character, that I'm aware of; correct me if I'm wrong, though).

A postcard of Red Riding Hood and the Wolf that made me think of RWBY, which I also wore a shirt of to the convention.

Do you take commissions? Also, do you sell your posted art?

Sadly, no, I don't take commissions. With the considerable amount of time and care I put into creating fully detailed nature scenes, they're not really feasible to actively produce. A lot of the art you see here on my blog is actually small sections of larger scenes, so I know it can be a little misleading sometimes as to the kind of finished art pieces I create. The full scenes are quite big and quite detailed!

You might see this drawing here as a full painting in itself, and it very well could be:

RWBY nature scenes will be the same as well! So far I've only posted little snippets and sections of them as I work, as I love to share as I go. But once they're complete, they're going to be quite the sprawling landscapes just like you see above. So because of the nature of my nature scenes (a very small pun intended), any one-of-a-kind commissions would end up falling within a fair industry price range for what I'm creating. So generally speaking, I don't offer them.

However!

I am currently looking into what it would take to open an art shop! 💖 This means all my nature scenes big and small would be available to everyone as art prints and postcards. There's still a lot for me to research from choosing a good printing company, finding eco-friendly packaging and supplies, setting up a shop website, and all the little details that fall in between. Finishing RWBY nature scenes and learning watercolors are my main goals this year, so an art shop probably won't come to fruition until next at the earliest. But life's always full of surprises, and you never know what's just around the corner. Ultimately though, I would love to have a seasonal art shop that offers beautiful high quality prints to everyone!

I'm really happy to receive another "Ask Me" question like this that inquires about where to buy my art. It lets me know that you really do in fact want to have brilliant shining nature art prints to hold in your hands and post on your walls. I love having that too, haha! So the more I see this question pop up, the more time and effort I suddenly want to put into making this daydreaming idea into a reality.

I participate in russian rwby zine, but they sell copies abroad too.

Is silver eyes a weakness?? Thay just muddled the waters even more with the story if they are. Ozpin never once says they are or treat them as a weakness so can we say they are? I mean once again, we have summer rose in the picture. Did summer just not know how to use her eyes or did they have no affect on Salem? If they did, why didn't ozpin treat them more seriously. It's one thing if Ozpin didn't know at the time, but if he did see the affect through summer, he should have treated ruby better

Yeah, admittedly this is me making what I think is a decently logical assumption. We’ve got an immortal big bad. No way to defeat her, yet we also have the expectation that she will be defeated by the end of the series. We’ve got a protagonist with super special eyes. These eyes hurt grimm and our big bad is now kinda part grimm, having fallen into a grimm pool... It all seems like a fairly “obvious” puzzle to put together, even if the story hasn’t yet had the characters discover/admit that this is Salem’s weakness. RWBY has ignored a lot of setups in its own story, but I’d still be shocked if we got to the series’ end and were told something like, “Thus, Salem was defeated by regular fighting, or some magical loophole that wasn’t introduced by Volume 7. The silver eyes we pointed out in the first episode, the ones Salem is obsessed with eradicating/capturing, that exist solely to defeat grimm and grimm-like beings (Cinder), have no bearing on the final victory. They were just a fun world building detail :D” Even RWBY can’t do that badly lol. Should the silver eyes have been better introduced/utilized/discussed over the last seven years? Absolutely, but I still think they’re supposed to be Salem’s downfall, even if RT hasn’t done a great job of establishing that. 

As for Summer, we still don’t have enough information to answer these questions. Maybe she never knew how to use her silver eyes. Maybe she tried and failed. Or was stopped before they fully went off (like when Emerald knocks Ruby out). Or maybe she never got the chance to try them on Salem at all. After all, Salem never says she fought Summer personally, just that Summer thought she could defeat her like Ruby does. The implication is that Summer died attempting to take her down, but “take her down” can mean anything from a 1v1 battle, to getting overpowered by a Maiden, to dying via grimm while conducting an investigation, to getting taken out by minions, etc. Any death in the service of this fight could explain Salem’s line. If Ruby had died at the hands of the Ace Ops (that’s one hell of an AU lol) and Yang swore to take down Salem, she could say the same: “Your sister thought she could beat me too.” It just means she knew Ruby stood against her, not that Ruby necessarily died directly by her hands. 

My personal headcanon based on what we’ve gotten is that Ozpin has suspicions that silver eyes can hurt Salem, but hasn’t had the chance to prove it yet. It would be a pretty good assumption on his part due to what I lay out in the first paragraph as well as his knowledge of the gods and that silver eyes seem to stem from his own, magical bloodline. If anything in the world could take down Salem, it’s probably that combination - a theory further supported by the question, “Why does Salem want to kill SEWs? Yeah, they take out grimm, but her supply of grimm is endless. Could she perhaps consider them to be a personal threat?” But thinking something and knowing something are two different things. There aren’t many SEWs to begin with. One disappeared after being attacked. Another died. Another is still just a kid. And Salem herself hides out in a fortress surrounded by grimm pools - not exactly accessible. When has Ozpin had the chance to test this theory out at all, let alone in an ethical manner (that is, finding someone like Ruby who already wants to fight and allowing her grow up and choose to help him, rather than just kidnapping her or something)? Even if he had the chance, would he take it? Despite what the fandom claims, Ozpin values the lives of his allies as much as he can without completely damning everyone else (e.g. “I have no desire for Pyrrha so shoulder these powers, but I can’t let Cinder get them and do horrible villain things”). If he set a SEW against Salem and he ends up being wrong... they’re dead. I’m not sure that’s a risk Ozpin would be willing to take. He’d want to know for sure that silver eyes are a viable weapon, but finding that proof without taking that risk is almost impossible. What’s he going to do? Send a postcard to Salem with, “Please respond and answer if this power is capable of killing you. Thanks!”? 

Almost impossible, but not quite. If RT plays their cards right, Volume 8 is the perfect time to canonize this weakness: 

Ruby has silver eyes

Ruby questioned why Cinder, with a grimm arm, was hurt by her eyes

Ruby has successfully managed to set off her eyes recently 

Salem is conveniently at the door, no longer in the wilds of Remnant where they can’t easily get at her

The group has already sworn to fight her

Ozpin has returned and is thus paying attention to everything that’s going on

Give us a scene where Ruby either intentionally or emotionally sets off her eyes, Salem hisses like a wet cat, and Ozpin is all, “Aha! My theory is proven! This is how we can fight her!!” 

Or something like that lol
