I wanted to try and figure David's head shape so I I did a few sketches that I liked enough, I thought I could line some. I ended up lining them all and threw some colours in while I was at it. :'D
Bottom right is: "David, what do you have in your mouth?" "Nohinnnnn'"

If you’re gonna rewrite the other arcs. Will you bring different cultures to the clans? Like a more unique answer to Firepaw’s question of why they can’t work together
Considering the absolutely nothing answer they give him, I feel like really the culture should just be called out more. The clans don’t work together and it’s dumb, and Firepaw should be the one to bring change, therefore reflecting as such in the symbolism of the BloodClan finale. All the clans work together.
Seriously, this is the response they give Firepaw.
Tumblr media
And then Tigerclaw follows up with “It is our Clan loyalty that makes us strong. If you weaken that loyalty, you weaken our chances of survival.”
Like that is such a flawed answer and yet it’s the continued answer we are given to not working together. I’m not saying the clans can’t be separate. I think it’s great they have different cultures, preferences, and ways of life - and inevitably with limited resources there will be arguments. I totally understand not taking a mate in another clan, or having to join someone else’s clan for things to work - but we’re talking about cooperation and just trying to get along. That is STILL seen as a sign of weakness to this day and I think Firestar at least should be the symbol of that potential, before the 12 and The Great Battle being the true turn around of cooperating clans.

Déçu
(English translation below the cut, but the pun only really works in French)
Félicitations, Neal, t’as réussi. Tu m’as vraiment déçu cette fois.”
“Did you know that the French word ‘décevoir’ means two different things in English?”
The street is noisy outside the Parisian cafe, but Mozzie’s voice cuts through the sound to arrive directly inside a pair of ears hidden under a fedora. The owner of said ears turns around quickly, his blue eyes widening in surprise when he sees who’s talking to him.
“It can be translated as ‘deceive’ or ‘disappoint,’” Mozzie continues, “but you, mon frère, you were always talented. You managed to leave me ‘déçu’ in both ways at once.”
Neal does an impression of a fish out of water, opening and closing his mouth in silence. Eventually, he manages to get out a single word: “Moz.”
His expression betrays a deep guilt, pleading for forgiveness. But Mozzie keeps a mask of anger on his face, even as his heart has already started melting at the sight of his old friend standing in front of him, safe, sound and alive.
“Surprised to see me? You didn’t really think you’d be able to hide from me forever.”
Neal shakes his head, resigned. “Of course not, Moz. Do you want to sit down?” He gestures to a table in the cafe that he just left.
“Oui, merci,” Mozzie responds, sitting down icily. He waits for Neal to be seated uncomfortably in his own chair before launching back on the offensive. “How could you let me believe you were dead for an entire year?!”
“For your safety,” Neal tries to explain. “The Panthers…”
“You kept me on the outskirts of the operation for exactly that reason,” Mozzie interrupts reproachfully. “We were set to escape together, but then you abandoned me.”
“No, Mozzie, that’s not–”
“What, then? You wanted to show off your superior deceptive skills? Fool a paranoid conspiracist as your last big con? Congratulations, Neal, you did it. You really had me ‘déçu’ this time.”

Can I get the 39. Absinthe Mage from the 100 palette meme for Peter? I thought that one matched his color scheme fairly well considering how much green he wears.
yessss absolutely! a palette doesn't have to match a character's color scheme to use it to draw them, but, it's always a bonus if a palette reminds you of a character's colors :D
this was actually my first time drawing Peter, I think it turned out ok!

Chapter 3
Rusty’s heartbeat pounded in his chest as the blue eyes of his leader seemed to pierce his soul. Scourge may not have been very large but he always had an air of calmness that made it hard to determine how angry he might be. He was known for lashing out at cats who disobeyed him and many cats bore the marks of his anger for the rest of their lives if Scourge didn’t just up and kill them. Killing was a much rarer occurrence thankfully but Rusty was not eager to see Scourge’s anger.
“Are you deaf or just too dumb to speak, kit?” Scourge flicked his tail in warning. “Why were you in the forest?”
“I-I just wanted to look.” Rusty managed to get out. It wasn’t completely untrue. It was the reason he’d been convinced so easily.
“Curious about the forest?” Scourge asked, his voice dripping with what almost sounded like amusement. “I was once curious about the forest myself, but look what that got me.”
He turned so Rusty could see the scars running along the left side of his face.
Tumblr media
Rusty felt a shiver run down his spine at the sight. The forest cats he’d met had seemed so nice that he forgot how cruel they could be. Everyone had heard the story of how Scourge had wandered into the forest as a kitten and was savagely attacked. He bore several scars from the encounter, a constant reminder of why the forest was dangerous. Rusty had been lucky to have run into cats who were so kind. They could have easily killed Rusty with their combined strength if they’d wanted.
“I’m sorry.” Rusty mumbled out.
“You’re lucky those forest beasts didn’t find you and kill you.” Scourge tilted his head. “It would have been a waste of potential to have lost you before your trial. Come, your brother was the one who alerted me to your where-about, so I’m sure your family will be worried about you.”
Rusty felt like he’d swallowed a rock. His mother was going to be so displeased with him, especially if Scourge was the one bringing him back. He was not going to enjoy this.
“I’m so sorry for my son’s behavior.” Nutmeg dipped her head so low that her nose was nearly touching the ground. “I’ve been trying to correct it for a while, I clearly wasn’t trying hard enough.”
“Hopefully he will be wiser in the future and not go there again.” Scourge let his eyes slide over to Rusty who was cowering behind his mother, hoping to be less noticeable. “I’d hate to lose a cat to rule breaking, especially when every rule I put in place has a purpose.”
Rusty could see Tommy’s smug posture out of the corner of his eyes and turned to glare at him.
“Hopefully there is still time for them to get some rest before their assessment in the morning.” Scourge dipped his head.
“Of course.” Nutmeg kept her head low. “Once again, my apologies for the trouble.”
Scourge turned and headed off into the shadows. Once Nutmeg was sure they were gone she rounded on Rusty.
“What were you thinking?” She hissed.
“I wasn’t.” Rusty responded, cowering under his mother’s anger.
Nutmeg sat back with a sigh. “Do you know how frightened I was when I found you and Tommy missing?”
“I’m sorry.” Rusty muttered, feeling guilt weigh him further down.
Nutmeg gave another sigh. “I’m just glad your alright. Please don’t ever do that again.”
“What? Your not going to punish him?” Tommy demanded.
Nutmeg turned to glare at him, Tommy quickly withering under her gaze. “You’re lucky I don’t punish you either. What were you thinking going to Scourge instead of waking me?”
“Rusty wouldn’t listen to you so I thought I’d get someone he would HAVE to listen to.” Tommy defended himself but his voice betrayed his weariness at also getting in trouble.
Nutmeg let out a groan. “Must you two cause so many problems?” She nudged Rusty. “Both of you get to bed before you do anything else. I don’t want you falling asleep for your assessment.”
Rusty and Tommy slunk back to the nest where Princess, Luna and Filou all gazed at them curiously. Nutmeg quickly shut them down and told them to go back to sleep as she curled around them, making sure Rusty was tucked under her chin so she would know if he tried to leave again.
Rusty lay awake, curled up under his mother’s chin and wondering how exactly he’d gotten himself into such a position. Everything that had happened was rolling around in his head, keeping him from getting any sort of restful sleep. He managed to doze off at some point but he didn’t feel rested when he woke up the next morning.
His mother was the first one up and she quickly disappeared as she did most mornings, likely in the search of food. Rusty was up next and he trudged along until he found a hole in the floor where he could gaze down at the cats below. He could see the familiar dark ginger coat of Brick as they organized cats for the assessment that was to take place soon.
Tumblr media
Rusty let his mind wander, thinking about the offer the forest cats had given him. Was life in the forest really any better than this? They’d mentioned that life was hard, but they had also mistaken him for a house cat. At least he assumed they had. He couldn’t think of what else “kitty-pet” could mean. Maybe they thought he was used to the safety and pampered life of a house-cat and therefore believed him incapable of living his life as a wild cat. Granted if they truly thought so little of him, they likely wouldn’t have offered him a chance to be a wild cat. Rusty felt so frustrated. The offer was so tempting yet so terrifying at the same time.
“Oh good, I thought you’d gone back to the forest.” A teasing voice broke Rusty from his thoughts. He turned to see Princess join him.
“We have an assessment today.” Rusty pointed out.
“Doesn’t mean you wouldn’t run away again.” Princess sits down next to him. “I’m not looking forward to the trials either.”
Rusty glanced at her to see her watching the cats bellow. Her body seemed relaxed but her eyes were filled with anxiety.
“Have you ever considered leaving?” He asked abruptly.
Princess turned to him. “Leave Scourge’s group?”
“Yeah.”
Princess thought in that for a minute. “I’ve never had the desire to go into the forest like you have, but I have considered to find somewhere else, somewhere safer than here.”
Rusty nodded. He wasn’t looking forward to what life would be like once they became full members. Kittens weren’t required to do anything other than train. Once you became a full member you were expected to be able to kill trespassers and fight to rise in the ranks. Showing weakness wasn’t an option anymore and the punishments for being weak could be severe. At least with Princess she could simply choose to become a mother to escape most of the expectations, but Rusty did not have that option. If he was too soft, he could find himself dead somewhere because someone of a higher rank decided he was too pathetic to remain part of the group.
“The forest cats offered for me to join them.” Rusty confessed.
Princess started at this. “They what? Why?”
“The leader, she said I had the courage to survive in the forest and was willing to give me a chance to prove myself.” Rusty explained. “When I met and spoke with the forest cats, they seemed actually pretty nice. They didn’t like that I was on their territory but they didn’t attack me or maim me for simply being there. They seemed genuinely curious about me and wanted to help me get home instead of leaving me to be lost in their forest.” He paused. “Is it wrong of me to want to accept their offer?”
Princess didn’t answer right away as she seemed to think it over in her head. She shook her head. “I don’t know why they were nice to you, but Scourge has stated that the forest cats are dangerous.”
“Any more dangerous that here?” Rusty challenged.
Princess sighed. “I suppose you have a point. If the forest cats are really as nice as you ones you met, than maybe you would be better off there.”
“And if they’re safer than here, maybe I can come back for you.” Rusty offered.
Princess chuckled. “Don’t worry about me, taking mom’s path is an option for me and I’m willing to take it if I feel I’m falling behind.” She looked him in the eyes. “Whatever decision you make, just make sure you stay safe for me, alright?”
“Alright, I promise.”
“Princess! Rusty! They’re gathering everyone up for the assessments!” Luna’s call interrupted.
Rusty and Princess quickly followed after their sister. As they defended the stairs, Rusty found his answer. He would join the forest cats. The idea of leaving his family behind still terrified him, but he couldn’t let that hold him back. Something inside him screamed that he couldn’t stay in Scourges group. Everything inside him longed for the forest in a way he could never properly explain, and if he never gave the forest a chance, he would be miserable for the rest of his life. He would probably never be accepted back into Scourge’s group if he left, but if the forest cats were better than this place, it wouldn’t matter. He’d be better off…
He hoped.

me: sees my dash overflooding with politics from another country, which are sometimes mildly funny or relevant but which don't interest me that much for the number of posts I see about it.
me: OK, time to make fun of some fictionnal character and change the subject.
On that subject, imagine the twolegs attaining the thundercamp in forest after the great exile to the lake, and being like ''oy, mates, let's move that big stone'' and they dig and see just that... that kittypet's collar. And one of them is a big fan of cats (maybe the same one who took Graystripe home) so he looks up the name/number and realizes it's a cat that has been missing for at least like three/four years. And they just found his collar - and just his collar- burried in a bizzarely altered circle of ferns (since the thundercamp at the time was hidden by ferns and brambles).
And then he connects this to the rumour that the forest is haunted because at every full moon you hear meowing for hours and there is sometimes thunderstorms when the sky was clear two minutes sooner, and the fact that a large group of cat seems to jump out of the bushes whenever they are cutting a large pine (shadowclan camp) or anything, and the fact a big group of cats freed the trapped animals, and the fact there was this big, dangerous for kids, group of rogue cats (the blood clan) that disappeared in like two days top after a forest cat was seen following one of the weird punk cats to their house, and also since Tigerstar probably didn't have a funeral so there was this gigantic main coon with enormous claws found by hikers who was cut open neatly and spilling its organs all over the floor of the Three Pines Hiking Trail.
And then I don't know, Jessie, Princess, all the kittypets who knew firestar or who were helped by him in the illustrated novels and everything just... seem to have gone into mourning and the cat they did take from the forest (Graystripe) is hysterical, and...
And basically all the twolegs just desert the thing, the construction project is stopped, and the forest is inspected and then they discover some kind of endangered frog or whatever they didn't find in the first place and it becomes a national park and hikers don't go anyway because the forest is haunted and they don't want to be cut open like the large maincoon or pushed from a cliff like the whole pack of guard dogs that disappeared in the forest and were found six months later, drowned at the feet of the cliffs.
And Rusty's collar is the reason why the clans' home is preserved.
And they don't have any idea of that because they're on the lake.
