Fred was sprinting down the corridor. This wasn’t new, in fact most would say it was weird if there wasn’t at least one redhead running away from the scene of a crime at a given moment. Still, he damned his twin for managing to dip behind a tapestry before he could, but being the good brother he was, he continued running

He reached the intersection of two corridors, dipping quickly into the one leading off but as he rounded it he crashed directly into someone, sending them to the floor

“What the…” Fred panics, worried it was a professor but his worry soon shifts to concern as he sees it’s you, whining on the floor in pain “Shit, I’m so sorry” he kneels down, averting his eyes briefly as you fixed your flipped skirt

He knew you but not as well as he wished and therefore didn’t know if you would turn him in. He figured you most likely would and he wouldn't blame you, it was your job as a prefect after all, and a ravenclaw one at that, considering how Roger treated him last time

“It’s okay” you finally look up at him, gifting him a shy smile as he stands, holding his hands out to help you “Thank you” you accept them, letting him pull you to your feet

“So. How many points is that?” he chuckles “Gotta be more considering I almost obliterated you” he jokes but you just look a little confused

“Huh?” you shake your head, honest to merlin forgetting you’re a prefect as you get a little lost in the elder Weasleys soft eyes and contagious smile

“You forgetting that little blue badge love?” he raises an eyebrow, smirking as he nodded to it

Your eyes follow, face hot as you realise. Your realisation more than cute to the ginger before you

“Why were you running?” you ask, tugging your bottom lip between your teeth

Fred’s eyes are locked onto them for a moment longer than they should have been before he answers, eyes returning to your eyes “Got caught setting up a prank by Mrs Morris and now I’m running away from her master” he flashes a stunning smile afterward

You let out a little smile too, but then you hear Flitch’s voice distantly down the corridor as the man must be finally catching up “You better start running again then” you state shocking him

“What?” he looks at you confused before it sinks into an awe filled smile “You’re letting me go?”

You nod “Better hurry Weasley” you say smiling, hands moving behind your back as you lift your head proudly, rocking on your toes

“I won’t forget this” he winks, dipping down with the intention of kissing your cheek “Thank…you” but then your face moves and your lips meet for a brief moment

He looks for your reaction, cringing that he may have ruined the moment but then he sees your just staring as his lips, tongue darting out to wet your own as your eyes lift to his. He dips down again before he can think, kissing you properly and cupping your cheek, you don’t move but your body relaxes and melts into it

“WEASLEY!” Flitch’s screech is what pulls you apart

You're beyond flustered as Fred pulls back to peak around the corner “Sorry lovely” he apologises as he turns back “Gotta run but before I do” he grins “Hogsmeade this Saturday?”

You're about to say yes when you remember “Fred there's no trip this weekend?” you say, and his eyes flash with something you can't decipher as you say his name

“You trust me?” he asks and you nod right away “Good” he steals another kiss before jogging backwards “I’ll see you outside your tower at 10” he calls, giving you a wave as he starts running off once more, leaving you in a happy shock as your fingers glazed over your lips

James groaned as he placed down the quill, flexing his hand to get rid of the cramp and ache that came with hours upon hours of writing. Most would assume their king's time was spent at balls, feasting and drinking as he searched for a queen, others in a grand room holding meetings and making fancy speeches, but really his time was spent in this one room of hundreds. His ridiculously sized bedroom with adjoined study

He glances up at the clock, almost ten. His rather sullen mood picks up, he knew it was wrong of him to feel this school boy like of joy, wrong to look forward to this particular moment each day, but he simply couldn’t resist

Almost on cue the door clicks and James quickly grabs the quill again, looking down and pretending to be as busy as he should have been at this hour. Light from the hall shines in as the door edges open and then recedes again as it closes and clicks

He looks up then, greeted by who he deemed to be the sweetest and most beautiful creature in the world

“Evening, my king” you bow your head, wearing the same soft smile as always despite the clear fatigue you must be feeling from the host of other chores and duties you’ve been attending to all day

My king, usually James found pride in that, but from your lips it felt wrong, and he always found his heart aching at the reminder

“Evening” he nods, gifting you a warm smile that you still and always shy away from before you turn to perform your nighty duties

He wouldn’t do much work now, maybe the odd signature here or there but really his time until bed was now spent watching you float around his room. He was sure you’d caught him looking a few times and didn’t mind if you did, besides anytime you did you just smiled shyly then got stuck back in.

As he watched you take the show pillows off his bed and replace them with ones for sleep his mind wandered back to when he was young

You and he shared one thing in common, you grew up in the castle, with yourself being one year his junior. In fact, you and he even played together alongside some of his other friends. That was of course before you were taught to be a lady, raised to be the one of the queen's maids in waiting like your mother was when the time came he took one, and himself to be a gentleman, raised to rule an entire kingdom

He wondered if you remembered those years like he did, remembered sneaking out to watch the stars streak across the sky in the treehouse you secretly built together, remembered him asking you to marry him when he was older and grew taller than you, which he swore he would be and he was right

But he mostly wondered if you remembered your answer to that question too

“Your majesty?” you say, gently gaining his attention after he realises he zoned out

“Yes?” he meets your eyes, once again finding you become bashful, and once again finding it adorable and beyond endearing

“Your bedroom is prepared. Would you like for me to call upon your servants?” you ask as you do every night, hands clasped behind you

James shakes his head “No it’s alright” he answers as he does every night, not wishing for people to come only to specifically undress him, and he knows you know this so he ponders whether you do this dance because you want to prolong the moment, just as he does by answering sweetly every time

“Do you need me to do anything else?” you inquire quietly but as James watches your face he can tell you’re desperately trying to suppress a yawn

“No no, you’ve done a grand job as always” he compliments earning a proud smile but he finds you linger, biting your lip as you wait before James realises “You’re dismissed for the night”

And with that you bow your head, walking over to the door but just before you grasp the handle he calls out

"Y/n?”

You instantly turn around “Yes?” your head tilts, eyes a little wider in your confusion

James’ mouth opens, losing himself for a moment but then he recovers and just gives you a smile “Goodnight” he tells you instead refraining from saying what he wanted

“Goodnight” you smile back, biding your head once more before exiting, leaving James to stare at the door forlornly

The words still hang on his tongue

“Stay”

“Finally” Sirius lets out a chuckle, Hogwarts reunion and you hadn’t managed to get one moment with your best friend the entire night

“I know right” you shake your head “5 years ago you couldn’t keep us apart” you smile, as does he, neither of you knowing your hearts ached in time

Everyone, including yourself and Sirius, believed you would eventually get together, but that blind hope was fatal in the end. With neither of you ever making a move life happened, school finished, you both graduated and ended up at opposite ends of the country, weekly letters turned monthly, and monthly ones turned into only on holidays and birthdays...

...but your hearts never stopped yearning for the other

“Funny how time just...flies” he says, shoulder finding the wall beside him in the little hideaway you both had sought refuge from the masses in

You do the same, head leaning on the wall as you admired your friend the way you always scandalously did, not knowing he was doing the same

“Very. Merlin, I mean you've got a big boy beard and everything now” you giggle, lightening the moon as you hand reaches out to scratch his chin ever so gently

He groans in the best way at that “You approve?” he asks, secretly hoping you do whilst hiding his disappointment as your hand drops back down

“Course, you look rather dashing” you say in a teasing manner yet hope he find the truth in your words “Almost like a grown up” you add to actually tease him

“You take that back” he points “I am as childish as ever” he disagrees

“Oh really?” you swat away his hand, moving a little closer as does he

“You doubt me?” he gasps, hand to his heart

You shrug, earning the cutest pout before shaking your head “Never” your eyes meet his, finding they sparkle…or maybe that was from the disco ball Marlene had enchanted to fly around

“Pads!”

You both jump, being brought out of your little pining bubble to see James looking thankful he's finally found Sirius and then he spots you and smiles

“Oh hey there!” he gives you a wave “Long time no see”

“Hey” you wave back “I know its been so long! You’re a dad now!”

“I know! Scary stuff they actually let me have one though" he jokes before bobing his head "…well actually it’ll be two soon” he tells you with a sweet laugh while you nod about to say you spoke to Lily earlier when Sirius cuts in

“What’s up?” he asks, looking at James a bit funny

James doesn’t seem to clock it though “Remus may or may not have have realised the hot chocolate was boozy…oh and Harry pit up” he turns to show the damage on his back, earning a giggle from you followed by a quick sorry which James just waves off

“Okay...but what’s any of that got to do with me Prongs?” Sirius wonders, eyeing him

“Oh. Ya see Remus was our driver and with me having a drink and Lily’s being too big to...” he explains before cutting himself off and frantically looking around “Not that she is in anyway large…merlin ya know I may have had one too many myself but you know what I mean she’s too…fuck it” he eventually gives up, cringing like crazy as he scolds himself while you try not to laugh too hard considering Lily said the same thing about herself earlier

Sirius nods smiling but inside his heart breaks “Okay. You go get Red, little Harry and Moons. I’ll meet you at the car in a few” he tells him, nodding towards you and giving his friend a way more obvious scolding look

James resists the cringe again as he must realise and nods “Thanks Pads, nice to see you again y/n” he flashes you that famous James Potter smile before heading back into the party

You and Sirius turn back to one another “Short reunion” he says but lets the sadness seep through this time

“Yeah” you nod with a similar tone

“I’ll write more” he promises

“Ditto” you return it “Hug before you go?” you open your arms

He nods "Course" he smiles, resisting the urge to scoop you up and take you with him as he steps forward and into your embrace

Your arms slide around his waist while his wrap around your shoulders, fitting perfectly just like they always did. The hug should have lasted a few seconds but you and he only held each other closer as time ticked on, your nose nudging into his neck while his, your hair. Soaking up the feeling of each others arms for as long as the moment would allow

Technically neither of you end it, a third party does in the form of a drunk classmate bumping into you both “Sorry mate” he holds his hands up before staggering on his merry way

Your hands hold the other but your chests part, chuckling together at the drunken boy before your eyes meet. A million things could be said but as always they weren't, and instead yours and his eyes bared them all at once

“They’ll be waiting” is all he says, smiling sadly

You nod, returning it with a downturned smile

“I’ll write more” you repeat his promise from earlier, fingers griping his jacket harder for a moment before you release them, trying to just prolong the moment a second longer

“Ditto” he does the same, leaning down to place a lingering kiss to your forehead and suddenly it feels like a goodbye, a real one this time, one your younger selves never understood, nor got in the end

When his lips leave your skin you part, hands finding the others until he walks away and you both let go. No more words. Neither one of you can bare the word ‘goodbye’ so you smile at one another before turning away

Sirius moves through the crowd, not looking back because it's too hard. Exiting the venue he sees the car and observes Remus trying to get in it, the sight amusing yet he can’t truly enjoy it. Getting in himself he inserts the key into the ignition but not doesn’t turn it. He felt sick, throat closing up as he felt like he was leaving his world behind

“You alright?” James asks as his hand finds Sirius’ shoulder causing Sirius to look at him, eyes glassy

James’ eyebrows furrow but before he can say anything Sirius unbuckles his seatbelt and opens the door, darting out with a quick “I’ll be back”

The three adults watch him run back in, staring out the window intently, Remus, in fact, does so much he hits his head, earning laughs, even from Harry who lets out a little squeal of one

“Prongs” Remus slurs as he finally stops blinking from the impact

James leans back, looking at him through the gap in the seats “Yeah Moony?”

“Y-you owe me” he manages to get out

James looks at him in shock before turning back to his wife “He can barely function yet he can remember a bet we made ten years ago”

Lily giggles about to say ‘mans got his priories in order’ when her eyes widen “Jamie lower your window” she points at you, running out and sighing as you see the car hasn't left

“Hi” you approach the car, leaning on the car window as it opens “Wait” your eyes search “Where’s Siri?”

“He went back in” Lily reply, giving you a smile

You light up“He did?” you turn to Remus, and then James, although you do a double take on Remus who looks more than plastered but wears a gleeful grin

“Yeah” James gives you a smile as he confirms it, then his eyes wander behind you, smile widening “Behind you” his eyes return, gifting you a wink

Your heart flutters as you push off the door, turning to find a rather disheartened Sirius coming out, thinking he missed you and his chance again until you call out

“Hey stranger”

His head shoots up at your voice “Hey stranger” he sighs out in almost a laugh, his face brightening as he realises you went after him

You both just look at each other for a moment, eyes asking that all important question and when you nod he makes his way over to you, wasting no time in bringing your lips to meet his in a long overdue kiss while your friends cheered you on…well Lily and Remus did, James squealed with Harry who clapped with joy as he had been lifted out of his seat for a better view

You should have never let them talk you into this. A simple prank they said. We can’t do it without you they said. Just in and out they said. You’ll be fine they said. Like hell you were, legs barely keeping up with the boys in front of you, sprinting as fast as you can down the corridor as you, heart pounding out of your chest

“In here” James stops smiling away like it's a average Tuesday as he pulls one of the tapestries open to reveal a small enclave behind, motioning for you, Sirius and Remus to enter before following suit, fixing it behind him

Sirius leans on the wall, head tilting back against it as he catches his breath, sighing in relief “Thank merlin”

“I know that was a close one” James joins his side, head finding his shoulder

Remus lets out a chuckle “I…” he starts but then notices you, shaking as you stare at the tapestry “Y/n?” he whispers, being wary that Flitch would be passing by any moment

You don’t react, if anything your breathing grows harder, the fear in your eyes worsening

“Love” he moves in front of you, hands tentatively finding your shoulders “Love?” he repeats, hands moving to cup just below your jaw and that makes your look at him, your own hands flying up to grip his wrists as you begin panickinh

“I’m so screwed…he’s gonna catch us Rem…” you being ramble on and on until he can no longer understand you, talking more than he's ever seen as you freak out, utterly terrified and he tries best he can to soothe you whilst his friend watch on amused

“Love…” he tries to gain your attention but you just continue, something that makes James and Sirius have to hold their sniggers “It’s…fuck it” he mutters the last part, pulling you into his chest and wrapping his arms around you, hand to the back of your head, gently patting “You’re okay” he whispers and you relax for all of two minutes until Flitch can be distantly heard shouting

“I can’t go to Azkaban...I'm not tough enough...Rem…I…I…” you mutter but the rest is small whines into his chest, the first part just aloud enough for the boys to hear

“Shut it” Remus hisses at his friends for sniggering, holding you closer and kissing the top of your head. Yes, sure, you were being mildly ridiculous but they did this all the time

“You’ll be…” he starts but cuts himself off as Flitch jogs on by, holding you into his chest a little tighter in order to muffle your whimpers

After a few seconds things go quiet and Remus pulls you away from his chest “Hey” he cups your cheeks “He’s gone”

You nod in his gentle grip, eyes staying on him as you ask “You sure?” and when he nods you shoot forward and hug him tightly again “Never ask me to do this again it’s too scary” you murmur into him

Remus chuckles sweetly, unable to stop himself from kissing the top of your head and saying “Never bunny” as he nudges his nose into your hair, grinning as he feels your cheeks rise into a smile against his chest

He then glances up at his friends, finding Sirius has his back to him, hugging himself as he makes a kissing motion while James just wears that annoying knowing smirk of his

‘fuck off’ he mouths towards them as his cheeks burn

“How many stirs to i give it...oh and which way too?”

James pulls you from your daydream to which you quickly look down at your notes “Umm…” you bite your lip as you read the instructions while he waits patiently “Clockwise for ten” you turn back to him, finding him already looking at you warmly

“Great…” he moves to start but then shrugs his shoulders and places the stirrer down “Actually one second. It’s far too hot in here” he pulls off his jumper, chucking down next to his bag and then pushes up his sleeves “There. Much better” he turns to you, flashing that awarding winning smile before grabbing the rod again, muscles flexing as he does

You just watch him, mouth agape. This was it. This is what kills you off. The whole lesson James had been unknowing driving you into a hopeless mess. From the side hug he gave you when he sat down to his stupidly pretty face...

“What do you think?” he turns back after finishing the final rotation and you realised he’s been talking to you this entire time “You okay love?” his pretty features grow concerned, placing down the rod and turning to give you his full attention

“Y-yeah” you manage to get out whilst your cheeks burn and heart thumps out of your chest

He doesn’t look convinced and you honestly can’t blame him, but as the backs of his fingers meet your forehead your ‘symptoms’ worsen “You’re so hot all of a sudden" his eyes flash with worry "Did I say something wrong?” his fingers flick across your cheek, and you curse him for his innocence to your affections

Your mouth opens but nothing comes out so you down, trying to gather your thoughts as you couldn’t form any looking at him “You didn’t say anything wrong” you say so quietly you don’t know if he even hears it

Luckily he does as he sighs in relief “If it isn’t me then what happened? Is it the heat? It is dreadfully warm in here”

“It’s not that” you shake your head, still looking down but his fingers come up to tilt your head back up to look at him

“Why won’t you look at me?” he looks so confused yet still carries that kind smile

“Because…” you fumble over the rest, words utterly incoherent, hell you didn’t even know what you were trying to say “Because…” you try again but can’t even say anything this time, you just start panicking

“Hey” his hands find your shoulders “Take your time love. Breathe” he tells you, taking a deep breath in and holding it “Y/n love if you don’t breathe I may die” he says strained and you let out gasp and copy him “Better?” he asks after a couple of breaths

You nod “Much thank you” you give him a small smile

“Now. What’s got you all hot and bothered?” he inquires softly, hands coming back to his own lap, smiling sweetly as he waits so you figure it’s now or never

“I…” you look down “…I like you” you confess, closing your eyes as you wait for rejection

“Oh” is all he says, so flat and deadpanned you feel your heart break in two, tears forming as gather all your courage to look back up at him, meeting his eyes which hold worry, yup definite rejection…but then his eyes widen “No not oh…I meant oh as in the…shit” he curses, knocking back his chair and pulling you under the table with him just before your potion blows up, covering the classroom in goo

You let out a yip as you hit the floor, the goo landing just shy of your feet, and after a brief gasp from everyone, the entire class falls quiet, all trying to process what just happened. You look over at James, his chest heaving before he looks back at you, eyes scanning for any injuries

“You okay?” his thumb gently caresses your cheek and you nod slowly, tears still shining and he takes notice, eyebrows knitting before he realises “I’m an idiot” he sighs, closing his eyes for a second “Can I just confirm...you said you like me, like, like me like me right? I didn’t hallucinate” he checks with a nervous chuckle

“I did” you sniffle a little, but you feel hopeful once more beginning

He nods “That’s…” he cut off

“Mr Potter!” Slughorn calls

“One second love” he quickly kisses your cheek and pokes his head up over the desk while you grin, hand to your kissed cheek “Yes sir?” he asks, earning sniggers from the class and a cackles from friend even if they're all covered in blue slime, none more than the professor himself

“Care to explain what just happened my boy?” the man inquires, not mad, just curious as you peek through the gap in the desk to see him take off his hat and shake it gently

“I shall but can I have one minute” James asks holding up a finger

“And why should I grant you such?” Slughorn eyes him, as do the class

“Well” James grins, glancing down at you then back to the professor “I need to tell my beautiful potions partner that I like her too and ask her out on a date” he says simply and you let out a gasp, hands covering your face as you supress your squeal

Slughorn remains quiet for a moment while the class starts whispering among themselves and his friends...sirius, let out whoops “Well” he finally speaks “Oh you go but..." he smiles "...bear in mind if she says yes you two will have your first date cleaning this classroom” he says earning laughs whiel James just nods

“Course sir” he winks at the teacher before dipping back under the desk, grinning wide “I'm really sorry I never noticed...I’m not great with hints ya see” he confesses and you giggle moving onto your knees “And for the record. If you do say yes, which I hope you will, I’ll clean the room myself and you can just sit there all pretty like you always are” his thumb flicks over your cheek

Your nose crunches as you smile “One. I’ll help you clean and two is this a good enough hint?” his head tilts but soon catches on as you lean in, doing the same and capturing your lips first, shocking you but you soon melt into it, eyes flutter closed

“Mr Potter, Miss Y/l/n?” Slughorn calls out before letting out an ah “They’re kissing, aren’t they?” he looks to the group behind you who nod “Well let’s leave the two love birds to it” he flicks his wand cleaning everyone’s clothes including his own yet leave the classroom covered “Class dismissed...try not to slide or fall on the way out”

Robbies 2k Celebration

I can't believe there are 2k of you! I also can't thank everyone that's ever interacted with my work enough xx I'm so happy to have this little community ♡

I will be doing a Halloween event so if you have any horror/Halloween asks you can hold on them and send them in then or feel free to send them now and I will save them for that xx
