Met some lovely bougainvillea vines along with their blooming blossoms during my walk today, and I knew I had to take a photo (I am the bougainvillea-and-saltwater after all, aren't I?)! Look at how beautiful and vibrant the colour is...🌺🥰
Christmas Tree then bonus with my Sunset Lighting. I will fight seasonal depression with mood lighting and my Christmas tree will look extra dope in it
Okay this little lady here, has a big story behind her! When we first bought her she had only her leaves, which were getting bigger and bigger but there were no flowers blooming. We were fighting to make her bloom for over a year!!! Until we realized that she was actually an orchid, and orchids require the following things in order to bloom:
A sunny place to be (such as a window), but not in direct sunlight!
She needs a glassy pot for her roots to be able to photosynthesize!
She doesn't need a lot of water. Once a week in the summer, and every second week in the winter suffices—and this is actually in correlation with how her roots look like; when the roots are green, that means the orchid is hydrated and does not need more water. When they're more brownish, then she needs to be watered.
To water them properly, orchids have to be sunk in a bowl of lukewarm water along with their pot, but their leaves should not be sunk as well; you can clean them from dust only with a soft cloth dipped in a mixture of lemon and water.
You know when it's time to change her pot when all her roots are out (you can see only one little bud in the photo, so my orchid is still comfortable in her pot).
And one fun fact: Orchids like to grow on trees! That's why we don't use soil for her to grow, but tree bark! 🥰
