Good morning-glory
Oy. One of the weird annoyances of dealing with someone with dementia is how they'll latch on to one tiny detail of an interaction and get obsessed with it. Yesterday evening I was using my daughter's laptop and searching the missingmoney website to see if I could track down any lost accounts of my late father's. I searched for his (thankfully) uncommon last name and got about 5 pages of hits. Scrolling through that, I found one item for my brother and several for a cousin I'm not in touch with. I took a screenshot of that page, with my cousin's name and the website name clearly visible. I pulled up K's email and sent the screenshot to my own email to serve as a reminder to get in touch with my uncle.
This morning I got right on that with no delay (yay, me!) and sent Uncle* a note with the link to the website, directions (very simple) for how to search for Cousin, and the screenshot of the information I found about Cousin's possible missing $. I had a shiver of foreboding. It was as simple as I could make it, but.
A few minutes ago the phone rang. Uncle had gotten my email, tried to read it on his phone, got confused by the image being tiny (um, because it's on your, ph.one, Uncle) and needed me to walk him through it. And for some reason, the One Thing he was all focused on was the fact that K's email had been used to send the screenshot to me before I had forwarded it to him. If you are saying - that does not matter! At all! You would be right. But THAT and THAT aLONE was his big concern.
We may or may not have gotten him straight on what he needs to send to my cousin. Did not ever locate any info on my father, although I'm naggingly certain there must be something out there. Likely in Venezuela or Switzerland. Oh, well.
Please enjoy my volunteer stair-climbing morning glories. With a side order of Baxter Beans.
Uncle, btw, was a professional photographer and media specialist at a college, a very tech-oriented guy. Back in the day.

My cats are always chasing invisible things. Is this kitty chasing a fairy or is it her last brain cell flying away?
