(general impressions after playing TotK for 3 days, encountered enemies and areas, staying way from major plot stuff for the moment)
so Nintendo really went "we heard your complaints about breakable weapons, so we've decided to double down on that", huh?
BotW was a quiet place, TotK not so much. I do like that these NPCs are actively involved in trying to improve their situation (looking at you BotW and also Fallout4), and what's more they're enthusiastic about helping Zelda and Link
I am less thrilled about how many puzzles are now social puzzles. I'd much rather spend half an hour figuring out the Wasteland Tower in BotW than petty social drama where I need to take sides and I don't know these people and stuff is Implied and potentially Ruined Forever if I chose a wrong option and AAAAH
I'm just gonna say it, I miss the Bomb Rune. It was renewable, I could mine for resources without using up my tools, I had control over what I blew up
All the stuff that is fenced off not because there's an enemy I can't defeat yet, but because someone wants 200 pies or something and you need to talk to someone for the recipe first, but they won't talk to you unless [thing] and if you expect me to keep track of all they said without losing focus, well I don't know what to tell you
if this resource scarcity keeps up, I'm just going to farm and grind my 50 animal crossing amiibo cards. Sure that's boring, but what's more boring is Link's outfit and how I still don't have even enough rupees for the sheikah pants. My Link does not stomp!
also I miss my Majora's Mask. I miss peace and love on the planet Hyrule. I play stealth and now I can't play to my strengths T_T (and yeah maybe Kilton is still out there, but how useful are masks that only fool one type of enemy at a time?) I want to look at a bug or whatever without having to run away from stalkoblins and moblins all the time
the building stuff mechanic is ...okayish. I'm not MacGyver or that elementary school classmates who built rube goldberg machines out of erasers, okay? At some point I'm just going to smash my switch against the wall in frustration. Probably(?) not the emotion the developers were trying to evoke (My worst case scenario is if they expect me to be good at this under time pressure and oh yeah also we hope you like escort missions. Timed ones, naturally 🙃🙃🙃)
I came across some Yiga in a cave, they're even more hilarious than the last time. Writing fanfic in my head about them already (message me if you want to know)
Link exploring underground cave stuff for hours on end just to Not Deal With People

Do you know anything about the number of episodes for the resident season 6, it seems they only ordered 13 maybe with the option to order more which is so weird if they wanted have ordered more they would've done it from the start I'm so annoyed I just read a tvline interview and it seems Conrad is going with cade but it won't stick and the person he ends up with isn't the one he chooses at first which ??? How are you gonna do all that in 13 eps. I can already see what's going to happen they're gonna waste time giving us cade and Conrad and once they give us a hint of Billie the show is going to get cancelled and we'll get nothing like we don't have time for this bullshit this is s6 not S2 they should've just had him choose billie from the start do we'd get them for 13 episodes instead of one and then it's gone. It reminds of macriley, Macgyver kept fucking giving us a relationship no one wanted and when they were starting to give us THE ship the show was killed, we all love a slow burn but these writers never learn
I don't. I know there were only 13 the year before because of COVID and maybe they feel like they can tell enough story with that many. If they do the 'see-as-we-go' deal they may order more if the series is doing well and commit to more episodes for renewal. It just depends.
I just had an ask that basically gave that premise. I HATE like HATE that option. Cade has walls up, for good reason, and I'm glad Conrad and Devon and the gang were able to make her feel like family but she doesn't even seem interested in him and he is recreating his dead wife. Like I don't want that just to be the reason why she doesn't want him because feelings change and she may feel ready later and that feels like a triangle no one asked for. If Billie and him had spent the last season with equal time...maybe this story could've been pulled off but I just don't see enough of what's there or could be there. They haven't had enough scenes. Also is there ever going to be discussion about what it takes to help run the hospital for Billie or are we sidelining that for this.
But you're right, it's a tale we ALL could write. I wasn't apart of the MacGuyver fandom but this happens CONSTANTLY! I'm in the middle of it on another show and ready to get hurt again on my newest obsession. Pitch, Sleepy Hollow, Recovery Road, Chicago Med, The Good Doctor, New Amsterdam, Twisted, Person Of Interest...etc. It doesn't matter it just seems to repeat. Either via cancellation, talent leaving, or a mixture of both, this is a very exhausting pattern to witness on television regardless of supported ship.

When Mother Nature Met Picasso: A Tale of Trash, Treasure, and Trippy Terrariums
Alright, class, buckle up and sip your overpriced, triple-shot, no-foam lattes because today we’re diving headfirst into the mad world of eco-art in environmental education. It’s like if Banksy and Bill Nye had a baby that was really into compost. Imagine turning your old, sad flip-flops and last year's iPhone into a modern masterpiece. It’s not crazy—it’s eco-art!
First off, let’s address the elephant in the room—or should I say, the recycled plastic elephant sculpture that’s currently residing in the middle of campus. This eco-art is not your grandma’s watercolor painting of the garden—unless your grandma is using biodegradable paint on fallen leaves. These artists are the MacGyvers of the art world, turning your discarded dental floss into highbrow cultural statements about decay and renewal. Seriously, one person's trash is another’s gallery feature.
Now, the whole shebang operates on the premise that if you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a day, but if you teach him to create an art installation from the fishing nets and plastic bottles he finds, suddenly, he’s got a sustainable business model and a feature on Vice. This is where environmental science moonwalks into art class and starts a conga line. We’re talking about projects that slap harder than a meme about Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating habits.
Consider this: someone figured out how to make gorgeous dyes from algae. Yeah, algae—the stuff you scraped off your roommate’s unwashed dishes. Now, it’s not just pond scum; it’s Pantone’s Color of the Year. And let’s not forget the sculptures in public parks made of recycled metals that look like something straight out of a Transformers movie. Instead of Optimus Prime saying, "Autobots, roll out," he’s probably like, "Recyclables, break down!"
These artworks are not only a treat for the eyes but also a nifty tool for education. Picture this: a school field trip to an art exhibit where the floor is literally lava—because the artist wants to talk about global warming. It’s a clever ruse to get kids to leap from tile to tile, dodging the ‘lava’ while learning about carbon footprints and renewable energy. They're literally jumping into action!
And for the interactive enthusiasts, imagine a VR experience where you can swim through the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It’s like playing Subnautica, except it’s depressingly real and the sea creatures are judging you for your plastic use. This is how we turn apathetic Instagram scrollers into eco-warriors. They're not just double-tapping on nature pics; they're learning that every plastic straw could be the villain in a sea turtle’s survival story.
But let's zoom out for a moment. The big picture here is about merging science education and art to craft a narrative that sticks harder than the gum under your theater seat. It’s storytelling with a purpose. The same way Rick and Morty expose the absurdity of existence through burp-laden dialogues, eco-art exposes the absurdity of waste by making you stare at a chandelier made from beer bottles.
Now, if you think this all sounds a bit too idealistic, like believing you’ll actually use your gym membership, consider the alternative. A world where art is just pretty and doesn’t make you feel like you could be the hero in a Captain Planet reboot. Boring, right? So, we need this oddball fusion of creativity and environmental savvy.
So next time you’re about to throw away your Starbucks cup, think: could this be part of a mosaic in a hip downtown gallery? Could my old textbooks become an installation about the death of print media, hauntingly lit in the corner of the library? The answer should be a resounding yes, louder than the sound of influencers finding a new trend to jump on.
And as we wrap this up, remember: eco-art isn’t just about making you feel guilty for your carbon footprint. It’s about seeing potential and beauty in the discarded, the overlooked, and the everyday. It’s a conversation starter, sitting you down at the cool kids’ table and whispering, “What if saving the world was just a matter of perspective?”
So, class, as we leave today, ask yourself: Is your next project just a class assignment, or is it the seed of an eco-art piece that’ll land you on the front page of Reddit? With a hot glue gun, a vision, and a weird amount of bottle caps, you could literally build a better tomorrow—or at least a killer art project.
There, lesson adjourned! Don’t forget to recycle your thoughts—and your coffee cups!

MacGyver headcanons: Pre series
Mac totally would have joined Bozer and Penny in Theatre in high school or middle school! I can totally see him playing Cassius in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. I'd imagine he would help Bozer with costumes, but I can really see him helping with special effects, especially in A Midsummers Night Dream.

This is from a site called TV series finale. And talks about shows that do/don't have renewals yet. Uh, no. 😱😭
Y'all, I'm about to throw down with Paramount & CBS. They wrote out Eads before for fighting with a writer (CSI) and then 'let him out of his contract' this time on MacGyver because he didn't like how a writer was handling his character. And that seems legit to me. I don't think fans did either. Plus the phrasing 'let out' stinks 💩. Lenkov probably told him that was his only choice.
The article only says that Grey is a recurring character meaning more episodes but not *how many*. 🤷 And it says the episode with Bozers parents is 'sometime' in April. There are FIVE different days that could be. Even if they give us an episode every week from now until the end of April - so ALL of those (it's a mere 7)- we won't hit the epis count of a Reg Season, not the avg 22 that s1-3 had. 👎 If they decide to be jerks, April 2nd would have us at Season 4's count of 13. 🙄😅
Yall they gave Desi more episodes in s3 to get used to the team than they seem to be gearing up to give us for this Fab Trans Lady's introduction. Not cool.
We gotta convince them that A) they need to renew MacGyver for Season 6 🔄🔥 B) we need way more time to get used to our new Phx Engineer & C) they need to respect their fans some more. 😁

You know what really sucks? Loving a show so much that it hurts, and wanting more than anything for a renewal announcement, all the while having to wait for the big corporations to look at the numbers and cash flow to decide whether this show that has touched so many people is worth giving another season. I guarantee you, for the people who invest so much of their time and heart into these shows, it absolutely is worth it. But it's all a numbers game, like everything else.

Im not seeing anything in these new gifs that say to me romantic love more than sibling love. The thermal blanket gif indicates he might have some feelings that he's not sure of, *however* he's also experienced a shit ton of trauma & loss since Jack left; making another relationship decision without going to therapy would be idiotic.
As for the words about trust? You know who else he trusted implicitly? Jack. He trusted Jack and never doubted him which is *why* the man leaving him behind made him spiral so much. (It didn't help that when Phx shuttered, no one checked in with him) Riley is/was the only one left who had that same kind of connection to Jack after. If the writers are really going to pull us down a ship hole, there are several things that need to happen first.
1) He needs to go to THERAPY. Stat. Figure out where his head is - where his emotions are - after everything that has happened over the last 2.5+ years. He's lost the rest of his blood relatives, he's lost a close friend & a man he forged a close bond to*. (See no 2) He almost died by Hellfire missile. It's a lot and I'm not even into all the injuries he took on or s5 events. [Like how he was beaten almost unconscious by Murdoc and this boy only needed *a butterfly bandage* to be ok? Uh no.] 🤦🤣
2) We need confirmation WITH A BODY that Jack Dalton is dead. And no, @cbs the dog tags aren't good enough. Cause that's the wrong initial on those tags. I know you're owned by Viacom & have money for props. Moreover, Eads was supposed to be offered an opportunity to come back if he wanted to. So how about an explanation on why he wasn't offered it. Or why he said no if he did.
3) a) I (and I'm pretty sure others) want a better explanation for Leanna's death - there needs to be a body & a grave. I would want to know if Reign would come back if she was offered that. b) If not her then Isabel Lucas- Cage - because Sam was great with the team.
4) Desi's story needs to be wrapped up. She can't just be hanging out there as the ex when she was brought in to be his Overwatch. Cause Desi hasn't been Mac's Overwatch the whole season. Or longer.
----➡This was a lot longer before and Tumblr lost my draft. So I'm just going to say this: we don't even have a SEASON SIX renewal from CBS yet. There's a chance that this show is ending on the 30th of April. Do you really want this series to end on potential romance rather than what this show had three whole seasons of?
Remember his found family around Mac's fire pit or in the pizza place? The Halloween party in s2 or the decorated houses in s2 and 3. The episodes where they actually RELAXED after a mission? Where Mac made things out of items around him without being panicked allot losing people? And maybe if necessary at the end we saw a medic or got some help.
