I have now seen all the scenes in t8. I still need to get my thoughts in order but here's a quick rundown of a tentative headcanon in regards what I think happened with Jun since before t3 to t8 in light of the new info. Heads up that I like to sprinkle in bits of the tag tournament games since bits and pieces of them are clearly canon to an extent.
Seven years ago Jun fought Ogre in Yakushima and lost but she survived by escaping to her family's sanctum. It's not just an underground cave hideout. It's a gateway of sorts to a more spiritual via consciousness. The good news? She can survive a prolonged coma here as long as her spirit resides here. The bad news? It's a spiritual gateway and not all spirits are good. Years down the line a wolf spirit manages to nab her vacant comatose body. While she is being plagued by scenes of the struggle between Kazuya and Jin (sometimes she thinks she can get through to them for just a moment), it uses her as a vessel to puppet the body around as an unknown entity. Whether she's aware of what's going on is up for debate. I myself think probably not since she's not in possession of her body and she's focused on Kazuya and Jin. Eventually some time before t7, Kazuya catches wind of this so called demon and wants to acquire it's power for himself. It looks vaguely familiar when he finally encounters it but he brushes of the feeling and defeats it, absorbing it's power and unlocking the form seen at the end of t7. It's then, after revelling in the newfound power, that he sees who is lying at his feet. He picks up Jun and flies her back to G Corp. Try as they might though they can't awaken her and Kazuya keeps the whole thing tightly under wraps. During T8, she finally awakens from her long nightmare, her spirit making it's way back once the body recovered enough and realizing her visions were reality. She leaves the G corp facility she's being held in and set off for Italy with hopes to end to the fighting. In a way she did, using her spiritual awareness to help Jin during the game. At the end of it all, she finds a defeated Kazuya.

aggretsuko s5 was the best and the worst at the same time, and here's why.
so, the last season of aggretsuko is here, huh. it's one of my favorite shows ever and i just really want to discuss all that happened in s5 with someone. it's totally okay if you disagree with some of the stuff below, i'd love to hear your views and opinions!
Tumblr media
so, obviously, it wasn't perfect. it was fun, but it had some issues. luckily it was better than s4 and had some really good moments, but the 2nd half of the season was a big misunderstanding. i decided to make a list out of all the stuff that bothers me:
retsuko literally got forced into politics. saying she's a people pleaser is not enough to justify it. i'm not saying "you can't do politics in aggretsuko", i'm saying that it would be better if she went "maybe i can make lives of regular office workers like me better?". and what was the politics arc for, anyway? there was no point but if you have to do it then just don't force her into that? give her a reason that would make her go "maybe it's not that bad of an idea".
why were retsuko and haida always going to a grocery store that was far away? plot hole! you see, after the stalker incident in s3 retsuko moved and i remember haida literally saying something along the lines of "the shop below keeps it safe and light at night". in additon, the building retsy lives in was shown several times and there really is a shop below her house.
remember when retsuko dreamed of being a lil blushy bride with a big smile in a beautiful dress all the way back in season 1? it was important for her, it was her dream. and in the end, haida and retsy just went with the civil marriage thing and? why?? honestly, why...
one of the biggest issues is obviously the fact that we didn't get enough about retsuko's and haida's relationship. since when were they even together?? i might've missed this part, but my point still stands - we really didn't enough about them. 5 seasons of waiting and this is what we get?? i just didn't get the feeling that haida and retsuko are actually happy and in love with each other, so them getting married so suddenly was a big suprise to me. and it's not like there weren't any opportunities for them to show affection to one another! i'm not saying they should act lovey dovey all of the time, but take for example retsuko's visit in haida's house. when they went out for a walk to the garden, he could say something like "i know it's hard, but deal with them just for today, okay?" or "sorry that i'm making you go through this. you really shouldn't have went here with me." stuff like that is what would make it feel a bit more like a real relationship and this exactly what their relationship lacks.
in the end we didn't get a single bit of info abt whether haida have found a job or not. he was supossed to get into IT and? after visiting retsuko's parents it was never mentioned again?? did netflix really just forget about it?
this isn't really an issue, but i still wonder who have hit haida with that truck. his brother said that he didn't do it but how did he even know that happened? not like haida would've told him about that considering their relationship... is, yknow.
and now, to the good stuff!! i have to admit, the 1st half of s5 was good, great even. those honestly were the best aggretsuko eps after the stalker incident in s3.
SHIKABANE ABSJSJSJ (no explanation needed) <33
haida deserved that. bro was being miserable and i loved every second of it. now he knows how tough life can be!! and that's a good thing.
as always, tadano never fails to make the show better, no matter what season is it. the thing where he bought the whole internet cafe? hilarious.
Tumblr media
i'm bad at explaining why a show is good i was born to be toxic so that's about it haha. would love to hear others' opinions! <33

About your comic + the response to it ;; Our troubles have also been with other systems. I still remember one of our headmates whos sourceself was like, hard to find stuff for, found another fictive of the same source.
They were friends until the other one realized ours is non-canon and stuck with his "abuser" ( he isn't in his canon ).
I've also become really paranoid and really self aware of our system due to other systems Behaviors. I don't mind systems that talk to each other via pk in public servers but the way some of them went about it made us double down on doing it ourselves.
I've had too many introjects say "are you crushing on me". No. Its already weird for me to have an introject myself of that person/character, don't make it harder on me /nay
HOWEVER on the plus side my friend/partner group is systems and have been very helpful and kind so. Not all is lost.
these are definitely understandable & valid feelings! we can imagine how it might've felt to have someone you called a friend basically tell you (whether outright or through actions/words) that their friendship and care for you is only dependent on your shared source. (i hope it's okay if we share our experiences, we do so because we see it as an "i can understand how you feel, you aren't alone"; we never mean to try to 'one-up' anyone! :'))
for the first, we have had a similar experience in the past. it was very hurtful and made the alter in our system involved very uncomfortable and self-conscious. the relationship mattered a large amount to them, and they didn't want to lose it. so, after that, they literally started lying and practically gaslighting themself into believing they had the same pseudomemories as their friend whenever they came up. this lasted almost all the way up until they went dormant over a year later (for unrelated reasons) and was a very unhealthy and damaging cycle. i don't want to get too into how it affected them in the long-term, but i'll just say it was very hard and painful to watch.
as for the public servers bit, we definitely understand where you're coming from, i think? i'm going to assume you're referring to systems using pluralkit to talk to each other, as in, other alters in their own system, and not other systems in general. but i think i know what you're referring to with that. i'm not really sure how to put it into words, though. i think we're (personally) just very particular about our own behavior, as well as what we're willing to share. we are not comfortable speaking to our other alters with pluralkit publicly, but it's hard to say whether that's simply because we don't want to, or because we're conscious of others' judgement and/or comfort. like, even not online, we're comfortable talking out loud to each other (when we're alone) because we find it easier to communicate that way. but we would never do that around someone else, system or not. but we've known other systems who are comfortable doing it around other people, and like, that's cool too. whatever helps ya, at least in our opinion, but i get what you mean.
the introject thing you mention is kind of complicated for us, because we all have different views on source separating. we all believe in the same definition of it (the one susie described in its comic), but at varying intensities, if that makes any sense. at the end of the day, we personally couldn't care less about another system's stance with source separating their introjects. like unless something happens where it somehow directly affects us, in that case which we would probably say something, but just to whoever was personally involved. our overall main issue with introjects publicly treating themselves as their source is the influence it has on those interacting with or reading the discussion. i think it reinforces this simply false idea that we are confined to our source, to not just singlets/non-systems, but even to other systems. being in, especially servers, places where that is taking place makes us reluctant to involve ourselves in the conversation, in fear that everyone will then apply that ideology to us, which we just aren't okay with.
i'm glad you're able to at least have a few people/spaces you feel comfortable in, though! they are definitely there, even if sometimes it takes a bit of digging.
sorry for the huge essay. poke us with a subject and if the right alter is fronting, your ask will be answered with a book x) hope anything i said actually applied to the original ask haha, i can go on huge rants, so i am sorry !! -skye

duviri is such an incredible foray into the psyche of a tortured child. friend fashion show and i talked about how dominus thrax might not even be the drifter's younger self explicitly, but just another character in this world - like bombastine who is clearly a caricature, or like the dax who will always be stronger than you. the king, the tyrant of this world will always rule over it, will always be some kind of unjust about it, will always be temperamental. and he is a child - in my opinion, because the drifter created this world when they were still a child, so it might've been easier for them to imagine, might've even been some kind of power fantasy before they lost control over the entire dimension.
anyway, out of control over this dimension as the drifter is at this point in time, something changes in the eternally same spirals - something about it gives the drifter the lotus' hand and a gun. teshin talks of help from the other world - but i don't really believe that fully? the drifter created this place. the drifter has full control over it in theory, even if they don't in practice, right now. i think something happened that caused the drifter to be able to imagine a better future for themself (again, we hear lotus' voice (or was it margulis for the tenno at first? i don't even remember. is there a difference and does it matter? i feel like it would) tell us the iconic line - dream, not of what you are. and we know that it is followed up by 'but what you want to be'. and the drifter dreamed themselves free) (or at least dreamed up the tools to free themselves)
what was this incident? as tenno, we have no idea about this parallel timeline until the drifter shows up, so as i said, teshin's line of 'the tenno sent these' is not... very believable to me. i have two propositions, both of which are based on yes the operator helped out with the drifter, but didn't realise it, and this push was needed because the drifter wasn't going to get out of their spiral themselves.
in citrine's mirror defense mission, the lotus tells us: "When extreme emotions meet pure Void Energy, they can change reality, bend and break the laws of nature". very coincidentally, orowyrms are floating around in the background in the tunnel created by said void energy. please also note the heavy focus duviri puts on emotions and the lotus' exact choice of words. as the operator, running through that tunnel, we might've somehow vaguely connected with the drifter in duviri - subconsciously, sent them a signal that hey, there's something else out there than this. look. we have a lotus, we have void powers, we have guns.
the zariman showing up caused the operator to remember their life back on board that ship. there's a lot of painful stuff there, including the deal they made with the man in the wall for their void powers. what if the ship showing up triggered that memory, and that was enough for the operator to (as above) subconsciously reach out to the drifter? (but then, what caused the zariman itself to show up again? hold up, in the operator's timeline, the zariman was recovered by the orokin - did they just put it back into the void once they were done with it? so confused need to read up on this)

okay, here we go
[ first of all, a lil disclaimer: these are my thoughts + opinions, this doesn't mean they're 100% right, at all. it's just some stuff i kept wondering abt after reading some theories and thought might be fun (?) to share. just to provide a look from a different angle, and to bring more questioning to the table. needless to say, i very much respect the authors of these theories, and i think their analytical skills are on another level! i would've never been able to come up with all that by myself! AND this post wouldn't exist if it wasn't for those analysis. so yeah, just wanted to make this clear. ]
anyway, these are some things i found that i think the following theories don't cover/might've missed out/might be wrong abt:
first, about "the *original* original sin theory": i feel like something's missing. this something being: there is no explanation for aziraphale's weird ass smile in the ending/credits scene. like, while i was reading the theory, i found myself nodding most of the time, and when i was getting closer to the end, i was hoping there would be some explanation for that final scene. but there wasn't! look, i'm not that smart, so i find it really hard to figure out why azi would smile like that after everything that happened, specially if we consider this theory to be true. something doesn't add up. there's something so wrong abt that smile. like,, on that same scene, crowley looks DEVASTATED and it makes sense! i feel aziraphale should look just as sad and broken, tho, and he doesn't. i mean, if it was a fake smile, i'd believe it was to deceive metatron, or pretend he is okay with his decision in front of him, or whatever. but it's not a fake smile. it's not a genuine one either. it's a very weird, kinda creepy smile??? like, michael sheen, you're amazing! but also, what the heck?! why would azi do that? (i have no idea. this is just me pointing this out, i don't have the brains to figure it out lol sorry!).
now, the other theory, "the magic trick you didn't see": i actually found this analysis very interesting and backed up with a lot of evidence as well! BUT (of course there's a but), i also feel like the author was kind of pushing it a bit too much sometimes. let me explain myself: i feel there are some moments that the author catalogues as "metatron's intervention/manipulation of memories" that, in my opinion, dont seem much like that... let's exemplify!
the "before the beginning" scene: honestly, i thought this scene was lovely! and i don't think metatron could've manipulated to draw aziraphale away from crowley. at all. in this scene, crowley is pictured as a cute little baby angel; so pure, so filled with excitement and curiosity and hope. he's also a bit naive, too, specially in comparison with aziraphale, who, on the other hand, looks baby but not so baby... he knows how things work up in heaven, he knows angels aren't that good (tho he might not admit it or say it out loud), he knows they aren't as free-willed as they might think they are, or want to be. so ofc, when crowley starts making questions + suggesting a suggestion box, aziraphale worries abt him. cus he knows how things work. and he knows angel!crowley could get in trouble for that. and he likes angel!crowley, boy! he so obviously does. so, aziraphale, much more aware of the situation and the way things work, is not withdrawn by crowley's innate curiosity. i think he actually likes that abt him, he might even think it's adorable. azi is just scared of what could happen to baby crowley, and i think he's trying to protect him. in conclusion, i personally think both aziraphale and crowley feel very much in character, which is to say, this memory doesn't feel/look manipulated or altered by metatron. not to me at least.
—i think there might be other scenes that the author labeled as "metatron's intervention/manipulation of memories" that i don't agree with, but i don't remember rn. guess i should read the analysis again to refresh my memory, but i won't do that rn, sorry!
also, i've already mentioned maggie's possible autism on another post!
okayyyyy,, this is it. i hope y'all (whoever you are) enjoyed reading this & thanks for taking your time! pls let me know what you think! i love discussing theories and thoughts on good omens with strangers lol but fr!

Do you remember when I made a poll? Well I do! And I want to talk about it finally (it's gonna be a long one)
On Sunday, April 23, 2023 I asked tumblr a question: when, in their opinion, was Asriel Dreemurr going to make his first appearance in Toby Fox's Deltarune (other than any potential flashbacks, which Chapter 2 showed us can happen). I've always personally felt that his potential appearance is one of the most important things that the game is building up to (plus he's my favorite Undertale character), so I wanted to gauge the UTDR community's opinion on when (or if) they thought it was going to happen
After leaving the poll open for a week and advertising it on Discord and DeviantArt (for free, if I wanted to throw money at it I would've just blazed it) I got 85 votes + my own 86th (and I also got two new mutuals from it. Shoutout to @eggylad and @ranpulsar, follow them too). The options I presented were:
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Chapter 5
Chapter 6
Chapter 7
A potential epilogue chapter after Chapter 7
I think Asriel is dead in Deltarune
I think he's alive, but he won't make a live appearance in the game
(show results)
(There is an obvious weakness in the poll, in that it doesn't have an "Other" option. For some reason I was genuinely convinced back then that I'd covered every possible option, but looking back I was probably wrong, as, for example, whether or not he arrives might depend on what ending we get. Feel free to suggest other alternatives)
From day 2 of the poll I wanted to write an analysis of the results, and try and figure out what people who voted for each option thought. I didn't ask anyone about why they voted the way that they did, not even my mutuals, so obviously that's another weakness. But it's also an excuse for me to theorize on Deltarune, and if I'm wrong as to why you voted the way that you did, feel free to correct me
I'm gonna ignore the (show results) option in my analysis, which I hope everyone will understand. I also hope the 7 people who chose it won't mind either. Aside from that, the results break down as follows:
Chapter 3: 4 votes
Chapter 4: 12 votes
Chapter 5: 8 votes (9 if you count my vote)
Chapter 6: 6 votes
Chapter 7: 32 votes
Epilogue: 4 votes
Dead: 4 votes
Alive no show: 8 votes
As we can see, the vast majority of people agree with the broad assumption that Goatbro will appear in-game at some point, though they disagree when
Most seem to think that he'll only first show up in Chapter 7 - and I can see why, for a long time I subscribed to that idea too. After all, Toriel says in Chapter 1 that he's coming home "next week." As long as the game sticks to having each chapter be a consecutive day, Chapter 7 would be just about right time for Asriel's return (same logic extends to the epilogue option, but we don't even know if there will be one, plus the way I phrased the question further helped 7's case, more on that later). Simple. However, I have since come to disagree with this whole theory
Chapters 3-5 being released together as a singular, paid package (hence my name for it: The Paid Package) indicates to me that they will constitute a "Deltarune proper" of sorts, and Chapters 6 and 7 will be the epilogue to provide final closure for the game. More specifically, I believe that The Paid Package will give us An Ending to keep us engaged in the 2-3 year wait, providing some closure to some things, but also building anticipation for the True Ending. A better way to phrase it would be a comparison to Undertale where, when you do a True Pacifist run, you first get a Neutral Ending (The Paid Package), and then play through extra content to unlock the path's true ending (Chapters 6&7)
This of course largely depends on what role Toby wants Asriel to play in Deltarune once he shows up, but I think there is so much about him that could be explored, about his personality, how he might've changed in college, about his relationship with Dess, and so on. I think Toby would want to introduce him sooner rather than later, so he has the time to do all this, and the final two chapters will probably be about stopping The Roaring, so they might have a more urgent feel to them, focusing less on character exploration and more on solving the big crisis. Not that there won't be any character exploration there, just that it'll not be a priority. And for that reason Toby might want to insert Asriel before Chapter 7, so that we get to know him better before he (probably) has to help us stop The Roaring
Which brings me to the Chapter 4 and 5 options, both of which (I think) rely on logic similar to what I described above to conclude that Asriel will feature for the first time in Deltrarune in the Paid Package Ending, although with slight differences enabled by my exact phrasing of the question, and I quote:
Dialogue spoken by him without his body or face being shown count
This is because when I made the poll I imagined that Asriel would make a brief appearance at the Chapter 5's ending cliffhanger, setting him up as a participant of Chapter 6's Dark World adventure, and I wanted for that to make it clear that that would count as Asriel being introduced in Chapter 5. And to me personally it seems that the Chapter 4 voters thought in much a similar way, but a chapter earlier. In other words, they thought that the Dark World adventure with Asriel will be in Chapter 5 rather than 6. And I'm just, incredibly furious that I didn't see that line of reasoning when setting up the poll (or rather, was furious when I wrote this post's original draft back in early May). I only included Chapters 3 and 4 in the poll for completeness' sake, and me not seeing that under my logic Chapter 4 makes just as much, if not more sense than Chapter 5 was a major source of anger for me about the poll. And I think in hindsight, the instant-gratification-seeking part of me would make me vote for Asriel appearing a chapter earlier than I originally voted for
As for Chapter 6, I imagine that the 6 people that voted for it worked under a similar cliffhanger assumption that I described above, and that Chapter 7 would see Asriel in the Dark World for the first time, but if I'm wrong feel free to correct me
The epilogue option, as I said, seems to rely on similar logic as to what I described about voting for Chapter 7, buy 1. not knowing if it'll even exist, and 2. the whole cliffhanger assumption probably led most people considering it to vote for Chapter 7 instead in the end
The Chapter 3 votes got me completely stumped though. Since there were only 4 of them, the only explaination I've got is "trolls and misclicks" but that's probably unfair. Still, I don't see any other logic, so I would appreciate feedback on this
And that brings me to the last two options: Asriel is dead, and Asriel is alive but won't show up. The latter got 8 votes, which indicates to me that it's a relatively serious idea, if less so than him showing up after all. But I can see a kind of logic that would lead to such conclusion, sort of. Kris' arc in Deltarune is probably in no small part about letting go, accepting change (which may incidentally tie into Undertale's message?), and Asriel failing to show up, be it because he's dead, or because other circumstances prevented him, might help with reinforcing that change? Although on the other hand, it would mean that Toby failed to deliver proper payoff to something he set up all the way back in Chapter 1, and has been feeding into with Chapter 2, fueling the intrigue of what happened to Asriel. If he doesn't show up due to a contrivance, I don't think it would make for a very satisfying conclusion to the story, unless handled very carefully. There's also the option that while we don't see Asriel come back to Hometown, it's heavily indicated that is happens off-screen just after the game's end. But I think that would be the worst of both worlds, and Toby wouldn't do this to us
As for Asriel being dead... my first reflex is to say that Toby wouldn't lie to us in such a majorly plot-relevant way. He said Asriel's coming back, and we've got no reason to think he's lying about this. Any potential clues that might say otherwise may well point to there being something more about Asriel, but surely the intent is not to contradict what was said earlier in clear text. Except, there's a good chance that Toby did lie to us in a majorly plot-relevant way. Not about Asriel, we have no way of knowing that, but about choice. After setting up in Chapter 1 that our choices don't matter, in Chapter 2 he did a complete 180 and gave us the Weird Route, with a radically different course and ending to the Normal one. And even if Snowgrave's description as "Fatal" turns out to have been hyperbolic and Berdly's fine actually (which I don't believe, but it is possible), there's still a ton of other, minor choices that still have a lasting impact on the world, such as what NPCs we can bring over to the Castle Town. So, do our choices in Deltarune matter or not? And if Toby did lie to us there, could he lie to us again? I personally think that there is a non-zero chance that, if Deltarune will have two (or more) endings, the one resulting from doing all the Weird Routes might see us, the player force Kris to kill Asriel (or force Kris to force a teammate to do it) But it is way to early to tell, and for now, as long as consensus among the Lighteners appears to be that Asriel is coming back, I'm trusting them
It bears mentioning that I never actually interacted much with the "Asriel is dead" theory, so I don't know all the evidence for it, so this is more of a gut instinct what I just said
But besides. Asriel is waaaaaaaay more interesting alive than dead. So much more potential to tell stories with him in the Deltarune universe. Would Toby really let all that potential go to waste? No. It's his big passion project, the game that he always wanted to make, and the best video game of the 2020s (yes, I'm calling it now. No video game that's better than Deltarune will come out this decade). Asriel is alive because it makes for a better story
So, what do you think? What was the actual reason you voted one way or the other? Do my theories make sense to you? Please engage with me i beg you

you do not have to publish this, but somehow we have misunderstood each other very much. With certainty this is due to my language barrier, but I would like to say that 1. I have nothing against party bangers, whether complex or simple, I love them (nevertheless, I do not like icip very much, its ok tho to me) 2. that kovis/morgen are not "party bangers" and what it is actually about, is clear to me, love them very very much 3. the lyrics are not so important to me, for me he can also rap about his curtains or thai food, I do not care. And I better not say anything about rammstein, that's another topic.
I'm glad you actually came back!
I admit I maybe used your message as a sort of starting point for a whole other point that I had wanted to make for a while. Sorry if I came across as somehow dismissing your opinion, I might've misunderstood parts of it haha. I completely understand if ICIP isn't everyone's cup of tea, and I resent the idea that people have to like 100% of an artist's discography to call themselves fans. I have a few songs by Jere and JO that I don't like, and that's perfectly fine. And I love that you love his partybangers! They're great :)
I actually would like to hear your point on Rammstein, but I understand if it's tiring communicating through anons lol. Please don't interpret this as me being some Till defender, idk all of what's happened but that definitely wasn't what I was saying. I was just directly quoting Jere himself from Urheilucast, which came out in January, so well before all the stuff with Till if I remember correctly. And if you interpreted it as me calling Rammstein "simplistic" or whatever, that also wasn't my point. I think their music has great depth and interesting themes, but like Esko said it's also not the most difficult music to reproduce. But their live shows and mv's make the music unique and something only they can pull off

Okay, this is going to be incredibly long and a lot of this is going to be a repeat of one of my last posts but this one will just go a lot more indepth of my feelings and thoughts towards the, in my opinion, terrifying movie Skinamarink (possible TW for suicide but there's no details going into it but I'm putting it just in case)
Simply to start off, I found it really slow but it definitely kept me on my toes of "what's going to happen next". However, I did find myself not really indulging myself into it (I also have ADHD so that might've had something to do with it lol) apart from that, because I'm an English nerd, I was also trying trying to find symbolism and such.
It was dark the entire movie except for at the beginning, which in literature light means knowledge and darkness means a lack of knowledge. If we apply that here that means that it in a way shows the kids are confused without them outright saying it. Other than that I couldn't really find anything else symbolism wise. This could be a stretch but colors could play into it as well with blue meaning, in this case, sadness and isolation with red meaning passion of either love or hatred, to which in a way I think could be both in this movie because the kids loving each other and their parents and hatred could be the parents feelings towards the kids, or at least the dad's (explained later) Blue is kind of obvious cause the theme isolation shows because they're trapped in the house and sadness is shown because apart from all the terrifying moments in the end the movie is really sad.
I mean, think about it! You're a 4 year old child who can't find their dad, you just fell down the stairs, things keep disappearing in the house, you have to piss in a bucket cause the ghost took away the toilet (the most scary thing in this movie /j), your mother cancelled her life subscription and your sisters face disappears halfway through whatever fever dream you're experiencing. In the sense of a 4 year old child that's terrifying but sad because you don't know much of anything else other than playing and whatever else kids at that age do.
Now, talking about scenes that kept us up, a lot of people talk about Kaylee's face disappearing or the mom dying but the scene that kept me up was the scene where we hear the repeatinng music (I don't remember what it's called even tho I saw it in the captions like 6 times with how much it repeated), Kevin screaming and us seeing blood splatter onto the floor again and again and again. At first I just saw that and I was like :o, then I saw it repeat and I was like :O then I heard the entity laughing and I was like 😧. It bothered me to a whole 'nother level cause that just implies that it's been happening for 572 days (I think that's the number).
Personally I really wish they played around with the idea a lot more, or at the least create a sequel to it if they want to keep that slow moving feeling since it is analog horror. I would've really liked to see some sort of story behind what's going on like why the dad being gone and possibly even an ending to what happens after but at the same time I like how they left it open to interpretation cause it just lets the audience fill in the blanks and create their own interpretation of the movie.
On how I interpret it, I see it as a metaphor for abused children (yes I think that because that's one of the most popular theories but that's not the main reason). It makes sense because the entity could represent the father abusing the children, Kaylee being "silenced" because her face disappears, the mother committing because of the chair literally hanging from the ceiling, etc. Another theory is this is all a dream from Kevin being in a coma because there's a constant theme of sleeping in the movie and I think it happens after he falls down the stairs. Little side note, can we talk about how calm the father was during that scene? Like sir your son, who is just barely becoming a little kid, fell down the stairs and it must've been bad cause you took him to the hospital how are you so calm and nonchalant about it???
Anyways I think it could be a mix of both. I think Kevin and Kaylee are heavily abused by their dad and their mother committed. Kevin at some point fell down the stairs and thus caused him to go into a coma and the whole movie is a nightmare (literally) and everything that happens is a reenactment of what happened in real life but more enhanced and dramatic because it's through the eyes of the child/children, which makes sense on why the jump scares aren't as scary as they would be because in nightmares, they seem scary for a second but then it just continues on and that's exactly what happens in the movie, every scare is for a few seconds then it continues as of nothing happened but we know something happened. That could also explain why the entity says "I'll protect you," even if it's in its own pretty twisted way cause it's trying to protect the child from the father's abuse.
Just now thought of this while writing but what if the entity also represents foster care systems?? Cause it claims it protects the child but then proceeds to hurt the child for its own enjoyment? Just a thought but like what if, y'know?
Anyhow I think that's all my thoughts on this absolutely wonderful movie. Even though it's done more psychological damage on my brain than any ex or break up will ever put in me through, it was so fucking good. I beg of y'all PLEASE watch it if you can. I have it on a Google drive but it's also available to rent on Amazon for like 5$ or something and on YouTube to buy unless someone has already uploaded it for free. Even though its slow paced, I'd argue that it made the movie better now that I've thought about it for a while cause it gave you time to process whatever just happened. But yes watch it, especially since it was done on a 15,000$ budget and it's made back like 2-3 Mil. It's worth it even if you don't like horror movies.

Top underrated/underappreciated videogames?
This is an AWESOME ask, and even though I'm a terrible judge of what's considered underrated; let me SEE.
IN no particular order:
1. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for PS2.
Developer: DS3 Publisher
Release: 13th November 2007 (I was 16, fun fact!)
Wikipedia Summary:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nate's Play:
I played the game a lot in high school. It's far more addictive than it initially appears. While I forget who my character was, if I find the right save space and memory card, I'll take some photos and add them to the post. I remember more than one insomnia night filled with my tiny CRT tv and PS2 with the lowest volume possible while playing this for hours. Granted, I only had like, 4 games as it was, but I'm pretty sure I purchased this game at Future Shop myself. Which does not even exist anymore.
Tumblr media
Rest in Peace, Future Shop. (1982-2015). You might've merged with Best Buy, but you were to good for them.
As a result, this game was one of those things associated with incredibly specific memories and long nights accompanying my lonely teenage self.
Life happened, and then maybe just over a decade later, I booted it back up, found my character and completed the game entirely. As if years of not playing it hadn't mattered at all.
Maybe you're not underrated, Puzzle Quest. But you're special to me.
Although it seems the UK got the cooler cover!
Tumblr media
Version I got.
Tumblr media
UK Version.
And look! My real copy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I post this on 'Rate My Set Up' and get roasted into oblivion.
And look more! My characters! I have 2 more but Tumblr is being ridiculous.
Tumblr media
Achroma here is who I beat the game with, be nice to him <3
2. Choice of Games and Hosted Games
Developer: Various Independent Developers
Platform: Mobile
Release: On-going, continual.
Nate’s Play:
Yes, I’m talking about *gasp* mobile games here. But they are I’m told also available on Steam.
These two platforms are host to text-based choose your own adventure games that I am very fond of. Some I have more fun with than others, some I was disappointed by, and some I don’t like at all. But they’re from a variety of creators, engaging and entertaining. Some also include art now.
My Library in Choice of Games
Tumblr media
My Library in Hosted Games
Tumblr media
If you enjoy reading, character creation and something without a lot of hassle, I highly recommend these. While most are free to play (with ads) I tend to purchase the ones I like. Not one of them has ever been pricier than 12 dollars. Well worth it, in my opinion.
3.  Yakuza: Dead Souls (Ryu ga Gotoku of the End)
Developer: RGG Studios. Sega
Platform: PS3
Release:  9th June, 2011 (Japan, 2012 in NA and EU)
Fandom Wiki Summary:
Tumblr media
Nate’s Play
Look, it’s not underrated in the fandom, and the controls are a hot mess. But the game gives you so much GREATNESS that it’s so hard not to just have fun with.
Ryuji is back with a GATLING GUN ARM AND A TAKOYAKI STAND.
Majima reacts to the Zombie apocalypse by having the time of his life.
AKIYAMA LOOKS LIKE THIS
Tumblr media
credit: @essence-of-armbarring
and LAUNCHES THE BAD GUY INTO THE ZOMBIE PIT FROM A HELICOPTER
Haruka is cute and sweet, the game has it’s own unique cast members never seen in the main series and is just a wild ride the whole time.
THE GAME BROUGHT HANA CHAN BACK (Links to gifset)
KIRYU GETS A GUN THAT FUCKIN LOOKS LIKE AN ANTI MATERIAL RIFLE
DAIGO at, pretty much all times let’s be honest here.
Does a zombie apocalypse in my crime game make sense? No? Do I care? Not a lick. It’s a fun, wild ride. And it brought Ryuji back, I need to do a replay.
The only Yakuza game where the characters adopt Daigo’s idea of ‘fuck it, we all get guns’ ideology (Kiryu does take an entire third of the game before deciding ‘kill the zombies’ is acceptable tho, so that’s in character) and shoot.
4. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments
Developer: Frogwares Ireland Ltd
Platform: PS4
Release: 2014
PS Store Summary:
Tumblr media
Nate’s Play:
I downloaded and bought this on a deep seated craving need for a mystery game (I love those so much guys pls rec mystery games). Might not be a master class in development and it did end up with the occasional glitch from time to time but I had a good time playing it.
It’s not the most perfect game, but it wasn’t taxing, the puzzles were varied and engaging and I had a good time with it.
Could’ve run a bit smoother over all, but it never ruined the games for me and I enjoyed my time playing.
5. I can’t think of anything now so I’m going to flip this and go on a random rant about Vampire the Masquerades single player games.
I am aware that the series began as a TTRPG and maybe it’s better when played that way, but I’ve played a few of the single player versions in the app I mentioned above (Choice of Games) and I purchased *but disliked* the PS4 versions. Not ‘disiked’ as in ‘the worst games ever’ but in the ‘after each one of these I am largely disappointed and Swansong was so full of glitches it became unplayable and whydidIspend70bucksonthis ANYWAY
It’s odd to me that a series so about embracing the fun of being a vampire just..does not enjoy doing that? I understand the Camarilla and how you’re meant to be discrete and the entire concept being fly under the radar, or question the corrupt overarching power house but I every one of the VtM games I’ve payed through hasn’t really made that..engaging?
You have some *limited* choices, and you feel actively punished for being a vampire even if you never choose to do anything ‘exciting’ and obey your cloaked overlords. I’ve tried versions of playing as the outcast or rogue groups, but the games never seem to allow for me getting as..idk, vampiric or brutal as I might want? I’m a creature of the night. I don’t want to attend bureaucratic nonsense I want to have fun being a morally questionable blood sucker.
ANYWHO, I thank you for this awesome ask and I am (ok not really) sorry it got so long and rambling!

idk if you saw twst chapter 6, how do you feel about it?
This is embarrassing to admit but... I might've actually sobbed. I said Idia is similar to me and has similar issues, and I meant it, but I didn't think it would be this similar in many ways. No I will not go into detail as to why, again, for personal reasons. And you have to understand, I hate crying so I try to limit it to like once a year. I can't believe I wasted this year's cry pass on a loser shut-in (I mean that endearingly). The whole memory part felt like a callout directed at me, if that makes sense. Yeah, I know that sounds a little pathetic, but I don't really care. I have a lot of thoughts, lots of opinions. Spoilers ahead, click off now if you don't want to see that.
Okay, so I'll start with things at the end because I don't remember everything in the beginning. This is Idia and Ortho time first though.
I love how Ortho is now his own individual self, a student, instead of just being "Idia's little brother." No, now Ortho is in his own grade, he has his own likes and hobbies, I love that for him.
Also, I know I've heard people say they don't forgive/excuse Idia and Ortho. But if you notice, Idia clearly doesn't forgive himself or give any excuses. He knows he should have had consequences for his actions (in the end the consequences didn't seem as harsh as they probably should've been) he was realistic about not returning to school when everyone is like "okay, I'm going home, see you later in class, Idia" and he's just "??????" Although, I'm kinda happy that Idia and Ortho decided to take things to the extreme during their overblot. It makes things interesting.
I was living for Ortho and Idia interactions, especially towards the end. Red fire Idia? Please. Please, I loved seeing it. I actually watched Hercules in Japanese because the movie gives me serotonin just because of Hades, but I sat down and watched the movie carefully with a friend through discord. We were judging the voices and dialogue and everything, and I predicted like at least five things that happened just by dialogue alone. So when I saw those dialogue bits in the actual chapter? I freaked out.
Okay, so now leaning towards the others. The growth and relationships depicted between the characters like Leona and Jamil; Azul and Riddle; and Vil, Rook, and Epel, were very nice to see. I'm glad we got to see that, and it wasn't just Pomefiore. It was nice seeing Jamil realize his issues and everything thanks to Leona, it was amusing seeing Riddle and Azul have conflict but come together in the end as they were polar opposites but still worked well together, and it was interesting to hear how Vil and Rook met. Rook was a Savanaclaw student? I was reeling. I wonder if Leona approached Crowley and just went "I want this blondie out of my dorm." Probably not, but it's fun to imagine. Finally, the scene where they all reunite at the very end with their friends? Very sweet. My favorite was probably Ace and Deuce with MC and Grim.
Now let's be honest, Idia and Ortho were much worse than the others. Riddle nearly choked people during his overblot, Leona almost turned Ruggie to sand and was going to hurt other students, Azul stole powers from people around him, Jamil was willing to hurt Kalim and friends just to take control of a dorm, Vil wanted to kill Neige and possibly his own team (MC and others). Idia and Ortho saw all that and went "hold my energy drink." They cranked up the seriousness by wanting to destroy the world. What next? We still have Malleus left, can you imagine what he's going to do?
Speaking of Malleus, all that stuff at the end with him was concerning. He's obviously feeling distraught. Lilia mentioned not having much time left, we saw Vil as old, Malleus seems to be distraught at the idea that soon everyone he knows will be gone including the only loved ones he's ever known (Lilia, Silver, Sebek, maybe others). His overblot will probably have something to do with that. Although it would be a little funny if his mentality as a dragon fae wanting to hoard went "what if I put everyone under an eternal sleeping spell so no one can leave me or die, and then I keep them."
Anyways, I probably have more thoughts and stuff but there was just so much that happened this chapter. If you want to hear my opinion on a specific part I missed, let me know.

I would like to read more about your opinions of Terry and Mike. It could be thoughts about their dynamic back in Karate Kid 3 or present day or both. Do you think they might have stayed in contact? Do you think Mike could now be considered a 'friend' of Terry's rather than just a hired gun? What do you think it was like when they were boss/employee and sensei/student while also living together, since Mike lived with Terry for a while when Terry hired him. Anything you want to talk about regarding these two, because I think it's very interesting and I don't know how much the show will give us.
I've no idea what the showrunners are going to do because Mike promo is so scarce, but I can talk about what I personally feel is in character for both Mike and Terry? Would that help? Or maybe what I can vaguely squeeze out of what we were given? I don’t know. Here are my thoughts, make of them what you will!
---
I think Mike would've stayed reasonably pissed off at Terry purely because Terry and John put him through an incredibly difficult training literally, the way he sees it, for nothing and he lost anyway, which didn't do anything good for his track record or professional career as a martial artist. He didn't fly to LA back in the 80's to lose. You don't fly to LA to lose at anything. Not when some weird Billionaire who personally oversees to your teaching gets in touch with you as one of those lightning in a bottle once in a lifetime crazy opportunities, winning should be an assured thing, right? Not to mention that Mike also did a lot of Terry's dirty work that could've landed him or juvie or jail or at least earn him a seriously bad police record, like antagonizing Daniel and nearly throwing him and Jessica off a cliff with Snake and Dennis. Mike, as an adult, doesn't regret that as much as he realizes it was dangerously compromising, especially because it didn't even lead to him being a champion after he was already prominently featured in Karate magazines and was infamous enough to have The Bad Boy of Karate nickname. So what good was it then? It was literally risk without significant reward and the way he sees it, he only went backwards. Hey, he did get to sit pretty in Beverly Hills with a car and an allowance, he supposes, which feels like a fever dream even now. But, then again, being a bit of a mercenary indulging, the way I envision, the occasional odd job (Why do I feel he's a waiter nowadays, among others? He's dressed like a waiter in that promotional image), Mike might've done weirder things still since then.
He just doesn't remember when.
He was also probably disqualified and blacklisted from competing again.
All those dirty shots he gave Daniel under Terry's instructions?
Which were recorded? Yeah.
As for Terry? Terry doesn't feel he's got the champion he was promised by Mike. He doesn't feel he received the fighter he sought out for John's cause. Maybe he and John would've never developed so much bad blood if Mike Barnes simply won. Terry didn't get his money's worth and he in effect could've scammed or held back on the promise for 20% dojo ownership he and Mike agreed on...supposedly on paper, by noon...which seemed very shifty in the first place and the power play here is very skewed because when this all happened, Mike Barnes was a teenager too and people forget that. Sure, Mike might've gotten a compensation in the form of 'Here's some money, you punk, now get out of my mansion', but he never received his dues because around this time, John and Terry would've fallen out majorly or would've at least started falling out and Terry, I feel, wasn't taking it well and it had a majorly bad impact on his psyche to know he's failed his Captain, so maybe he wouldn't have cared just what Mike Barnes does so long as he's out of his sights, even though he might've went out of his way to repair the collateral in later years, when he was more stable because he would've tactically realized that having a friend in Mike Barnes is better than having an enemy with a grudge that could do bad things for his squeaky clean image if everything that happens in the past gets out because I think post-Rehab Terry is still very much a snake. Could've even done it post-rehabilitation in the sense of -"Mike, I realize what I did was wrong. I'm a changed man now."-
And Mike going like:
-"The fuck you are!?"- Absolutely not buying it and for good reason.
That phone call didn't go too far.
Thing is, from the rewards and proceits Mike was promised, he could've been as rich as Daniel Larusso, if not richer, but I imagine his life was very volatile in the shadow of his own loss, and ever changing since. He cannot get over how close he was to owning prime real estate in The Valley, but having his momentum stolen by merely doing what he was asked; winning a point, losing a point, Mike might be on a vaguely 'Yeah, we buried the hatched, but I'm still bitter with him even though he could be useful one day considering this mofo still owes me bigtime and one day, I don't know when, I don't know how, someone will cough up my reward' relations with Terry because for all of Terry's wise sayings about bygones being bygones, forgiveness and mistakes being made in the past, Mike might rightfully feel John and Terry fucked up his life and done him dirty. Especially Terry. John's in jail, but, Terry moved on to proceed living his rich, lavish existence the same as always with no scathing on him or his reputation, while Mike Barnes could've very well struggled to maintain a career and a living after the 80's whatsoever, undoubtedly slumming it occasionally, the way Johnny Lawrence did.
Not just in Karate, but in general.
Making his general penchant towards anger even deeper.
Remember John and Terry reunited and Terry cynically asked John if he wanted a cheque written? Present day Mike Barnes would probably bluntly retort that 'Yes, I want a cheque written, old man. Upfront.' and maybe Terry gives him a fondly amused look as he says 'Plan on failing me again, Mr. Barnes?' and maybe Mike holds up his hand to show off his wedding band that we see on his hand and reply with a 'Unlike you, I've bills to pay and mouths to feed.' and maybe Terry's internally struck by that in ways he didn't expect to be, because it is almost like their seats switched in a sense; Now Mike Barnes of all people is doing something toxic, awful and materialistic for the sake of devotion by falling in with this weird rich guy again and Terry is doing it just for the heck of it. Mike Barnes has something to fight for. Mike Barnes changed as much as he didn't change, but Terry almost envies him, not a lot, but enough for it to sting him a bit.
Schlossberg and Hurwitz being subversive by writing just one man in this damn show as a responsible father in spite of his own personal flaws and shortcomings, please and thank you, tired of the neglectful, absent, 'find your daddy' arcs.

It's completely fine dw about it. I haven't been a person so I took a while too I completely understand.
I find something I like and I stick to it lmao
I also have a friend going down the nursing path and she encourages me fully and is so excited and I love her and also she constantly tells me how every single nurse that knew she was going into nursing told her not to. So. Hopefully that works for you, the change could certainly be good. And it's good you have a backup if you need it. And you can ramble about your personal life I don't mind dw.
That's fine I get that!! Personally I would never read green lantern comics because ew green lantern but that's obviously a personal opinion. I get that. And that's fair!! I haven't read anything really with Donna Troy either aside from some parts in a Wonderwoman comic I never finished.
Hand sanitizer and I aren't as close as we could be due to the Multiple times I've sanitised my hands so I didn't have to fully wash them (I knew I only needed to wash them for mentally ill reasons) and then I proceed to actually just make dust appear all over my hands
I think something really sad happens (I promise that's not a spoiler I genuinely have no clue if it's even those books or even what it is) and that intrigues me because I love pain. But the used book is a large hurdle. I'm glad you're enjoying it!! I've only ever heard good things. And yes! I have seen, multiple times, unfortunately that's ✨American only✨ but thank you
Admittedly I haven't read anymore but that's the whole not a person thing it's not a comment on the comics. And that's fair!! I'm very excited for Kate!!
No that's fair I agree I power through so many comics just for Dinah
It should be grape juice honestly I think that would be more fun
Understandable. They need to love each other all the time constantly no matter what.
I wouldn't spoil it anyway but I can't remember. It's cool that you're having new bonus ideas it's always interesting to see what people think!!
Recently at my work we got a full renovation so we had construction workers in and there was this one guy I called Music Man Jake and he had Tons of batman tattoos (it might've just been 2 I don't remember) but I said "so you like batman?" And he said "yeah, y'know why? Because he can beat superman which means he's the best" and I was like no I don't think that's what that means I think they can both be beaten and said "yeah by who?" And I told him that I'm pretty sure there's like canon instances where Wonderwoman beat both of them and he told me that that was fake and I was lying.
It IS a strange one yeah that's for sure
well i have unfortunately since received incredibly different and more drastic work change news but i have new plans i place to some extent, but ultimately my goal to make it through the holidays (very busy time for my job) has remained. and 2024 will be. very different for me but i’ll get there when i get there. honestly it’s not entirely a bad thing for me personally but it does objectively suck. but putting off thinking about the full extent of all that bc like i said. gotta get thru december. but yeah that’s a little life update for ya.
you’re valid! honestly i probably wouldn’t read green lantern comics if i didn’t have friends who love them just bc they never really. called to me before? but one thing i love is trying media beloved to my friends. and with comics especially it’s been a lot of reading things that are recommended to me because there’s way too much for me to choose on my own.
like i said i met donna in the titans tv series (another questionable comic adaptation that i unfortunately am so attached to 😔) however figuring out what to read for her does feel incredibly confusing bc she’s not like. a big dc player ig? idk we’ll see what i end up doing i have one donna troy special run open on a tab on my phone to try.
SO valid re:hand sanitizer. it’s def more of a temp fix for me when i don’t have access to properly wash my hands until i can actually wash them. which yeah maybe not the best but like. it’s manageable for me which is all that really matters.
i have finished the first raven cycle book and kinda started the second and something really sad happening definitely would fit the vibe so far, i wouldn’t say anything incredibly sad has really happened yet but there’s def the looming constant of something that’s supposed to happen at some point bc of psychic visions and all that. i started on the second book but haven’t really had a chance to read much of it however i’m heading back to my parents tomorrow so i’m gonna listen to more on the drive. i think my only complaint of the series is there’s so much concentrated Teenage Boy (and Teenage Rich Boy too) and it can be a little annoying at times bc like. the two rich boys. they have money. go to therapy. consider alternatives. think things through a little more. but even they are growing on me (one more slow than the other but it’s happening) but really it’s been fun to read so far!
:/// aw it being american only sucks i’m sorry.
again you are so valid (i say that a lot i know ahsjjdsj) re: not being a person & also not having read any more bombshells. life can be a whole lot and boy can it be hard living in it sometimes so i completely understand. and the good thing is bombshells isn’t going anywhere so there’s no rush!
okay ive now finished injustice year 5 & ground zero! i didnt make any notes this time bc i kinda was just powering thru year 5 and then i binged all of ground zero in one sitting. ground zero i just read the other night and was more enjoyable being told through harley's pov however god putting up with joker was very hard im glad harley finally was able to tell him no and also beat the shit out of him. her harley horde was so cute and i loved that for her. also seeing the alternate universe justice league (or as i called them, the REAL justice league) seeing MY diana again <333 and CLARK !! god i missed that ah shucks goofball. and i really loved the ending of harley and ivy going off to the alternate earth to help that version of harley overcome her attachment to the joker <3333 ALSO HARLEY IVY ARE ROMANTIC!!! LOVED THAT!!
in my head i’m picturing that music man jake’s birth name is like. robert or something but music man jake had a better ring so that’s what he is referred to by.
i can’t remember what it’s from (i think it might be the justice league animated show??) but there’s definitely somewhere a bit where bruce is talking about his contingency plans if any of the core JL went rogue and he had these boxes full of said contingencies but he literally like made a point of showing that diana’s box is empty because she has no weakness. and that’s remained permanently burned into my brain ever since. i absolutely believe she is stronger than superman. in some/most(?) continuities she’s literally a demigoddess. clark’s just lucky bc earth’s sun is built different 😭. but yeah she did in fact very much kick clark’s ass in injustice and was only beaten in the fight bc sinestro attacked her from behind once she already had superman on his knees. so yeah. she can definitely beat superman. that’s my no 1 takeaway from injustice year four. (and then REAL diana being able to kick injustice diana’s ass tells me that real diana CAN ALSO kick superman’s ass should the need come) but yeah. i do really love wonder woman akshakbddjs
i have to say i’m a little hesitant to start injustice 2 just bc i *liked* how year five ended and i don’t want it to be undone BUT i wanna see HER (dinah) so i will read it. i’m just debating trying year zero first, any thoughts on if i should wait to do year zero until after injustice 2 or am i fine to read it now?
hope you’re doing at least somewhat well all things considered!!

I know Steph and Ed having any kind of relationship might not be that common (and I think most of the works I've read with them are yours), but in that case, shouldn't we all credit to everyone who created the first tag for every relationship? For example, (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't read the comics) but a while ago I saw someone's post about how funny it was that we ship Jon and Ed even though in comics they barely have any interaction (again, I don't know if this is true, I don't read comics), so shouldn't we credit to whoever wrote the first Scriddler comic?
But also, it is still kinda difficult to know who created something, you might've been the person who created the tag in AO3, but that's not the only ff site, someone could've done it first in FF.net, Wattpad, Tumblr or some other site, or maybe even someone that wrote something but never published it.
And, like you, who saw their interactions in the comics and had the idea of making them a family or Ed taking care of her, someone else, that hasn't read your fics, could have the same idea (excluding calling him her 'imaginary friend' because that is very specific, or for example, your 'Water Lilies' fic plot) and write a fic.
In instances where you could ask for credits is when you create an oc or something that doesn't exist in the original work, for example, there's this Harry Potter fic where the author created something called 'Climagia' (some women could control the earth elements) and in that case, you could ask for credit because it's something that does not exist in the books, but Steph and Ed already exist in the comics (like you said, you didn't create them) and making them be friends/siblings/family is not something so specific as to claim any credit, in my opinion.
And I completely agree to saying that creating fanart of any kind is a full-time, important activity!! As a ff writter, I've also created some uncommon pairings, but I don't expect anyone to give me credit for them because the characters are already there, I just took them and put them together, something that someone else can do.
I'm not writing this as to fight with you or anything, or change your mind, I just read what you wrote and wanted to give my opinion, and mention a few things as to why some people might not give credits.
First of all, thank you for reading my works! I’m very happy to count you as a reader :)
[in that case, shouldn't we all credit to everyone who created the first tag for every relationship?] - Ideally, yes. Now, there are relationships that became so popular and so widely spread, no one knows where the idea comes from anymore (if it's one or multiple people, a story, a fanart or a podcast or whatever else that started it). For some characters it's increased by their proximity in canon, what fully explains Superbat, StephCass or other ships between characters who share a complicity. I consider Riddlebat fully fits in this category. I don't know who invented Scriddler, but it became a widely spread ship while Jonathan and Edward never shared anything more that a couple of positive interactions in the source material. Someone likely launched the idea by a story or a piece of art, and the fandom took hold of it. That person has the right to feel bad when seeing something they created became so popular and so re-invented by everyone else, nobody remembers them anymore. Personally, I find that a bit sad, to think someone created something so cherished in the fandom and nobody knows them. I would be profoundly afflicted if the same happened with the Stephanie & Edward friendship / family bond. Sure, I would be happy to see it grow popular, but not at the price to be completely forgotten as the person who launched it in the fandom. If that were the case, I'd be hurt and I would feel like all my work gets... entirely wasted.
When I say I made my researches, I mean it. Not only on AO3. I guarantee there are no stories featuring Edward adopting Stephanie Brown, no matter the verse, before I made this very trope a thing in my AU 'Safe & Sound' first. Sure thing, I can't verify works that were never posted, and that's why I personally consider I made their family a thing since I first posted, *not* since I first thought of it. Believe me, I've been thinking about them being brother-sister / father-daughter / soul siblings for much longer than I write this very same topic. Still, I consider it doesn't count in the fandom archives since my older drafts featuring them are written in notebooks and were never published. I agree that someone might have picked on their similarities without reading my stories, but I want to say that it's part of the deal: if someone had the idea of them as family, how could they pass checking THE most popular fanfiction site to see if this has been translated into a fanfic on AO3 already? Actually, I would love to receive a comment like "I had this idea since I read about Riddler and Stephanie, I'm so glad someone agrees with me!" and then see this person do their own story, while knowing they may have thought about it, they haven't launched the trend and they acknowledge it. I take that example because I received similar comments for a recurrent topic in my fics, being that my Edward was a teenager when he begun his Riddler career. Placing him under eighteen when he first suited up his costume is the headcanon field, and it pleases me to see others enjoy to see this portrayal in my stories. Thank you for giving your opinion. On my side, I consider that making Edward adopt a young Stephanie *is* specific enough to ask for credit. Not the same as portraying them as friends, but making Eddie her father or her big brother, and making them each other's most important person in their world, the person they would choose above anything and anyone else including themselves *is* something I can ask credit for, since it existed nowhere before I brought it to life. If anything, I find your reference a bit sad there, and I am sincerely sorry you created relationships that became popular without you being acknowledged for it, is that what you are saying? Because if you were the first and exclusive author of said relationships, for which you likely got very involved, then it's a shame it became used and re-used without people remembering you started the trend. You deserved your recognition in the fandom world, because being fanfiction writers and fanart artists should always mean we are supportive of each other, as we all share this same passion. Again, it would make me feel like I wasted my time, while I engage in my writing with all my heart, if I don't get the minimum of recognition being that people remember Edward being Steph's parent, brother or best-friend-ready-to-do-anything-for-her comes from my stories.
Worry not lol, actually I love to hear divergent opinions, it's always interesting! Thank you for sharing your point and by doing so, giving me an occasion to develop mine!

Hey! I watched the podcast live earlier and just blatantly decided to come to you since I saw you were watching it :) hope you don't mind
My review is honestly that it was so so much better than the last one Dream (and also the last one Sapnap) took part in.
The people there, for starters, were so much calmer and neutral and, while some are odd figures to see for the - probably - first time (case and point, Amouranth) they actually were all knowledgeable, open and not biased. Amouranth actually proved to be likeable in last hour or so if you overlook what her job is which is fine by me and everyone else was honestly not really prejudiced against Dream and Sapnap's fanbase which was a nice surprise. They all were very diverse in their communities which makes discussions more interesting.
Obviously I had chat closed, after the first few minutes of seeing them spam weird stuff, so neither do I know nor do I care what happened there and I advise everyone to follow that strategy.
The topics might appear dry to a degree but that's normal and I actually thought they weren't as bad as others made it out to be either. Cryptocurrency and E-sports may not be everybody's favorite stuff to hear about but it was actually somewhat interesting to hear the conversation. Also it wasn't all they talked about either and it was mostly enjoyable.
People have to remember that this wasn't a podcast about Dream and George, it's a podcast they take part in, it's about Twitch in general, not about Minecraft, and about stuff happening in the world like Covid-19 and whatnot. And the amount of interest the people there actually showed in them despite that was very nice to see. When they talked about Minecraft, others took part in the conversation and brought up own opinions and experiences, and they listened when they talked or asked questions about E-sports and Twitch con.
Onto Dream and Sapnap - they talked a lot more than in most other podcasts they were in before! They didn't seem particularly disinterested either in my opinion? It was just that they were doing stuff in the background, playing games or be on Twitter etc. so reaction times were sometimes a little bit slower and might've made it seem like that but -
The fact that Train wanted to close the podcast but Dream talked about Sapnap wanting to stay more and then they went on for another hour kind of cancels that out for me.
Memorable Dream and Sapnap moments I remember at the top of my head from that were (not in order):
Train tries to explain the 1v5 Manhunt and everyone is kind of confused what he's talking about until he talks about landing in a boat
Dream and Sapnap were asked what's new in the Minecraft community and deadass didn't remember MCC despite Dream streaming the practice server
Ultimately we got Dream doing a few laps in Ace Race from his POV and him dominating in Dodgebolt, even winning 1v2s (on the server)
Dream correcting people on what the best colors for marketing are
Sapnap mocking us with not talking and he's generally just there to fuck with Train and troll everyone
At one point XQC joined and asked to 1v1 Dream in Minecraft. He got demolished and then continued to get demolished by Sapnap
Dream talks about the SMP a bit (once when they proposed that he turns it into an org to make more money and he just blatantly says that he doesn't want to get a check of his friends money; later they asked how he picks the people for it)
Sapnap wants to do one live E-sports event for the experience but not go pro
(Something along the lines of:) Slasher: "You can just pay a million to do some real Minecraft event (probably for live E-sports or whatever) and do it yourselves right?"; Dream: "Oh yeah, let me do that real quick."; Slasher: "I mean, assuming you make like 30 million a year or something."; Dream: "Definitely not thirty."
They're hypothetizing on Obama in MCC
Sapnap is the only one to hear Myth say Goodbye
Train: how old are you; Sapnap: ²⁰
Sapnap just highkey trolling the whole group (Do you live in Canada? Yes. | Are you in New York right now? Yes.)
They talk about conventions and whether Dream and Sapnap would consider going to them. Sap mentions Dreamcon again
They talk about streaming for a bit (They explain the concept behind having alts; Sapnap streamed 6 hours on his main and averaged 177k viewers/19 hours on his alt with an average 48k viewers/everyone is just highkey baffled; Dream: "I have zero hours.")
They pull the George doesn't know what Dream looks like scam again
Sapnap is asking Train if he would give Sap all his Bitcoin for Sap to run into Dream's room and face reveal prank him on Train's podcast
They are theorizing on how they would market Dream's face reveal, Dream and Sapnap find their idea stupid
Train jokingly offers to give out his stream key to Sapnap and Dream and for them to organize a podcast "with the gang" and Sapnap bluntly agrees. Train is baffled. (Pls. Yes. Probably not and a joke but please. Yes, give it to me.)
Maybe I'll look up the time stamps later if you want me to, but yeah :) I probably spammed you. I found it honestly very enjoyable and I only saw people complain so I wanted to give my opinion
(I don't really post myself, so I go to my favorite blog when I wanna say stuff, sorry ,-,)
thank you eveee and don't apologize i'm happy to always read ! i'm glad to read another side of the scuffed podcast because sometimes they can talk about interesting stuff.

Story Ideas!
<Keep in mind that not all these ideas are original, I might've taken some inspiration also. Nevertheless, if you want to use a couple of these then feel free!>
Idea no.1
I've had this idea for a while now so here goes nothing.
Tumblr media
So these ugly/weird lookin' kids, right? They're from LEGO friends, Emma and Ethan.
Ethan here is a troublemaker, he goes around town spray-painting on other people's property. On the other hand, Emma is like a high school student or sum that loves art. What I like about them is their story. Basically Emma's friends try and catch Ethan since he's been causing havoc around the city but Emma helps him get away everytime 'cause "Us artists gotta stick together". And they eventually start liking each other. I have a story similar to that but instead of the female main lead being as pathetic and helpless as Emma, she's more of a 'quite kid' type if yk what i mean.
Since I know a thing or two about art and the two are artists, I would made the characters a little aware of there surroundings. Artists are creative and think in a way poet/writer would, a writer/poet thinks about the ways they could express their feelings through words and so does an artist but just with paint except of sentences. In the LEGO series the kids act reckless and like they don't even know what's happening around them; not something I think an artist would do , but then again there has been times when I get too busy with my paintings that I sometimes forget to eat!
Something I'd want to add in the story [if I ever wrote it] would be how their secrets unravel infront of each other, because even though I don't remember the exact way these kids found out about each other in the series, I know that it's probably cringe.
The LEGO team took a creative approach to this teen love story and I simply love it. It's soo f*ckin' adorable man!
Idea no.2
I came up with this one in the middle of the night lol.
Tumblr media
Look I think that badass female main leads are cool ok? And I've made many many stories in my head about 'em. Here's one that I really like. The story line goes like this; the main lead is a small criminal like you know a mugger or something? They have a family member that they really cares about but some evil guy kidnaps the main person's family members and then threatens to hurt the family member if the mugger does not do what the bad guy says. The small criminal [whether male or female] have to kidnap the protagonist. The protagonist should be a newly adult with a less paying job in my opinion but do what you will. I'd want the story to be in the POV of the person who got kidnapped if I were to ever write a story like this , cause...... yea....
I'd also want the character to have deep backgrounds that could be enough to explain why they do the stuff they do. I know I'm thinking too far ahead but like, that's what I do man.
< That's about it for now, it's short but hopefully I'll update more in the future. I'll update like every week or some. It was an honor to serve your acquaintance, I'm fanfic-n-stuff and I'll see you soon>

"i'm not that smart!" *proceeds to give me a college-level lesson about my own consciousness and reasoning*
but seriously, you're very smart so don't even try to pretend you aren't because you are >:(
anyway-
i loved reading that it was amazing to see you break all that down into such a complex answer, i was honestly just expecting you to think it was cool and move on ERYTHDFBSNKJL
but seriously that was very nice of you and i'd very much enjoy having complex and theological conversations with you more often :))
i also thought it was very interesting, given that i'm not a particularly religious person? although i grew up in the lutheran church, so yes, i suppose your comment about extensive knowledge about religion would be true, since i've been learning about it for 17 years lol
but the religious imagery and metaphors presented in the phrase came as a surprise once i was lucid enough to really process it so. i guess you do have a point.
but i'm not usually able to conjure up such detailed images once i've even slightly awoken, so being able to so vividly remember nearly every detail of the situation was also very shocking. yet i think it's impressive and probably means something? i'm trying to figure out who the people could have been but. i'm coming to a dead end at this point. honestly my only idea is that maybe the bottom person could have been a representation of myself? i mean i'm extremely pale, and i've got this weird thing on my skin by my shoulder that thinking back on it i might've just caught sight of? but the person on top is completely unknown. perhaps it was just my desire to be loved and held that was being incarnated in. whatever that was.
anyway this got out of hand ugefhsidjk ily <3
way to call me out smh /j
but really tho sxjsnxjsbs i just. dont really consider myself as smart as like. you or my other friends :")
also was that really at "college-level" ???
either way. yeah !! i absolutely love concepts like this, and to think over such matters really makes me excited and very much eager to write a whole essay about it if i could haha
your thoughts as amazing as well, so it was quite easy to simply add onto what you had already written about. and given that i hardly like to leave a conversation without at least a more complex explanation over my own opinions as well, i definitely had to reply to you in a way that would try and touch on most of the subjects present ^^
and yess i would absolutely love to have conversations like this more often !! i have always enjoyed hearing from you and reading into the complexity of the very own consciousness of certain characters into your writing pieces, so i do agree with that talking to you regarding such things more often would be great 💕💕
oh and i think that makes sense as well haha but, really, i was just giving a certain example on matters that like. one comes to know about and therefore implements into their unconscious thoughts though, yes i believe that the whole astonishment part is a reality when it comes to meanings that we dont really process as much as our brain does as well lol
and i know !! this usually, from what ive seen and experienced myself, tends to happen in a more deep stage of sleep, rather than when you have just woken up and is already adjusting to our surroundings. so, thats why i was so amazed as well ! maybe it really came to mean something more profound to you, or the way in which you felt about it seems to have an affect far more great on that moment enough for the memory of such a scene to carry on even after what happened.
also, imo it really does make sense that one would project a form that they know very well, or that is important and memorable to them. so yeah, maybe it really was a projection of you or what your brain would have come to construct as some kind of version of yourself ?? though at this point im really just losing my thread of thoughts here :")
and regarding that other person, it could have been as you said more of a manifestation of some specific thought/idea or desire, but also considering the detailing from such a figure, the suggestion that maybe it is a real person or a kind of construction made by your brain from real references and perspectives could also def be a possibility
but im no expert in dreams lol much in the psychology hidden behind the things that resurge through dreams and vision like this-
but yeah, sometimes certain visions/imaginary scenarios may come to you in a way that seems quite complex and too nuanced to understand properly or at all. but im sure that if you try and take in all the details as much as possible, sometimes even the most simple option may come to light and respond to what you have been trying to piece together ! and if nothing seems to work, maybe just letting it marinate for a while could lead to an even more rich answer, too.
oh and its ok sxjnsjxhjs i love you too <3
hope you find the answers to this soon btw ! ^^
