Fabergé's Raymonda Suite
The House of Fabergé's 2013 collection ‘Les Danses Fantasques’ takes inspiration from four of Russia's great ballets: Luda, La Esmeralda, Raymonda and Giselle.
The Raymonda suite features a choker necklace, cocktail ring and chandelier earrings (not pictured). Featuring impressive egg shaped cabochon amethysts surrounded by diamonds, the suite is fit for any Prima Ballerina.

Do you know why the Western companies don't seem to perform Marco Spada? Also to a lesser extent Raymonda and Paquita?
To my knowledge, Marco Spada is licensed exclusively to the Bolshoi, no one else is allowed to perform it, or at least not Lacotte's extremely successful staging.
Raymonda, while it has some beautiful moments, is a slog of a narrative filled with a rather uncompelling love story and rigid characters and requires a big cast. The Wedding scene is a marvel, both in regards to Glazunov's music and the spectacular Pas Hongrois but the ballet can drag on and on while getting there. It's like reading an ancient fairy tale, not the condensed Disney version. However, there have been several attempts to flesh out the story and make it a more compelling watch - most notably English National Ballet's rendition which set the ballet in a more recent historical period.
Paquita has always been a showpiece, and various stagings of the Wedding scene are indeed done in the West by companies and schools. There have been a couple attempts of at the full-length revival, notably the POB one, but they've largely been a mixed bag- it's likely, not economical for most companies to produce another big classic if it's not going to be a slam dunk.

Sasha Khiteeva is going to debut Raymonda at the Primorsky stage and I'm screaming!!! Do we think she might debut it at the main stage next season? I think she's being prepped for first soloist once they promote the likes of Shakirova, Iliushkina and Khoreva to principals. I'm thrilled for her. For the longest time I thought she'd be buried with all of the talent in the corps or as a coryphée. I'm so glad she's getting her due!
I'M SO EXCITED TOO!!!
I think Khiteyeva would make a wonderful Raymonda so hopefully this will lead to a debut with the Mariinsky. It all depends on whether Fateyev likes her interpretation. I'm also very glad she has a soloist position and am also hoping for an eventual promotion to first soloist. Her trajectory was slowed down for a bit during her second season, I believe because COVID shut down the second half of her first season, so I'm glad she's been getting more attention. I'm also hoping for her to debut Aurora and Juliet soon🤞🤞!

Hi there! In the MT, who would you like to see debut as Odile and Odette? Also, who would you like to see debut as Raymonda?
That is such a good question! The easy answer to both is Shakirova! But she's debuting O/O on June 6th, so maybe that disqualifies her from my list of possible candidates?! However, I wanted to think about it more deeply. Who has the temperament, technique, and acting ability for those roles. Who's ready and could perform these roles on (arguably) the greatest ballet stage in the world in front of the the most discerning audiences? Who would I like to see cast? So for O/O, Bulanova. She's already danced the Black Swan PPD in a few different divertissements. I'd love to see her spread her wings, so to speak, in the lyricism of Odette. Although I think it would be a long time before MT actually gives her this opportunity, my heart lobbies for it. My dark horse pick for this would be Chernavskaya. She's got the loveliest lines and dramatic flair. I suspect she's not quite ready but she could be in a few years, she's getting roles (Carmen soon!) and clearly management sees something in her. I think she's interesting. As for Raymonda, Lukina. She's danced both Aurora and Medora successfully. Raymonda feels like a natural next step - a princess role but with some Magyar exoticism thrown in. But I'm somewhat shocked to discover that Batoeva has not yet danced Raymonda. (What? How? Way overdue!) My dark horse: Khiteeva. She's got tremendous charisma. The clips I saw of her in Fille du Pharon really spotlighted her dramatic abilities, which were evident as Maria in The Fountain of Bakhchisarai (sp?) and as Gamzatti. But I would love to see her in Romeo and Juliet first. I think her youth and lyricism would be well served in that role.
