Prince Charles: “My dear Papa was a very special person”

In a touching tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh on behalf of the Royal Family, Charles said: “As you can imagine, my family and I miss my father enormously.” pic.twitter.com/S4FDUeND8p

If I ever created my own production of La Bayadere, I would make a few changes.
1. Take away the scarf pas de deux.
2. Remove the stupid arm scarves attached to their buns the Shades wear.
3. Forbid the use of crop tops and tutus.
4. Make Gamzatti wear pointe shoes the entire ballet and have actual dancing in the confrontation of Nikiya and Gamzatti instead of all mime.
5. Find a way to shift the blame from Gamzatti to the Rajah and High Brahmin because THEY WERE THE ONES WHO TRULY CAUSED NIKIYA’S DEATH. Oh, and Nikiya attempted to murder Gamzatti first. #justiceforgamzatti
6. Find different music and choreography for the third Shade variation.
7. Get rid of the slaves dance in act 1 and replace them with male priests or something along those lines.

Ballet Asks
“Opinion on ida praetorius and on her Giselle?”
Um, she isn’t my choice but I’m sure she tried her best.
“Kondaurova’s Odette-Odile blows me away every time, she is exquisite. Who are your favorite Odette-Odiles? (Could be active or retired, established primas or diamonds in the rough)”
Oh Kondaurova is 10000% one of the best for sure, no doubt!  I also love Svetlana Zakharova and Devon Teuscher of ABT.  And then the Queen herself is Ulyana Lopatkina, but that has to be a given.
“Obraztsova is rehearsing Carmen for her debut, as she said herself, but the Bolshoi doesn’t have Carmen Suite scheduled in the near future? So guest performance? Gala? Anyways, thoughts? I just do not see Carmen in her personally, and she is always a tad bit behind the music in her rehearsal clips.”
I don’t understand her dancing Carmen, it is so weird and definitely not a role I EVER thought she would do.  I honestly have no idea when she would be dancing it, maybe in a hope beyond all hope she started rehearsing it super early for a debut next season??  I know that’s a delusion and non-existent fantasy in Russian companies though lol.

Apparently someone’s death brings out the absolute fucking worms that decide to send nasty messages to people who feel sad for a woman who lost her companion of 70 years. As such, my inbox will be turned off until later this afternoon when I can turn it on again with anon off. If you’re going to send frankly disgusting messages to me, then at least do it off anon.
And this is not saying you have to be sad about his death, it is perfectly fine if you’re not and you can actually feel relieved if you feel so inclined. I could not care less how you feel at all. But sending messages like the one I just got is unacceptable. At least be brave enough to send them off anon.
Like, what is the actual point of “asking” someone which royal dick they’re going to suck off next because they’re nothing but a rabid bootlicker who worships a racist family and can’t live without royal sweat and (insert term for what happens after sucking d*ck) on her face? What does that accomplish?

Yes that’s a very good point! I can’t imagine being married to someone for 70 years and then suddenly they’re gone.

Something super exciting happened last night!
In a very common turn in ballet, you turn on the opposite leg of the direction you want to go.  So if you want to turn to the left, you stand on your right leg and the opposite for the right.  My right foot and ankle have been severely injured for two years which means I haven’t been able to turn on that foot in two years.
Well.  Last night...GUESS WHO DID 4 LEFT TURNS YESTERDAY????
MY FOOT IS GETTING BETTER Y’ALL.

aurorafiberarts: I actually really admire how you keep this blog non catty and not personal with dancers. It’s all beautiful clips and talent and none of the drama, and it makes your posts really damn pleasant to see when they cross my dash.
Tumblr media
But in all seriousness, thank you so much!  I try my best to keep it about the ballet and dancing itself for this exact reason and I’m so glad you enjoy it!

To the person who just sent me an ask about an interview a dancer did, I am not touching that with a 10 foot pole.

I am actually using my personal leave and taking days off work just because I have the days and no other reason.  I have never done this before, but I am so excited because I’m FINALLY DOING IT.
