Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, NY: What is something your OC is insecure about? Do they take any steps to hide/remedy it?
His sibilance. He understands it puts people off, but with his mouth structure being more serpentine, it's hard to shake. He's taken vocal coaching for it and now it almost doesn't show up outside of minor vocal fry (S-sounds towards the ends of words), and for emphasis. Aadesh is fully aware of how creepy it can sound, and has used it in the past to add effect to certain things he says.
Against the Kitchen Floor: Describe a flaw in your OC that they understand can be a dealbreaker, as well as what your OC would consider one in an S/O
Honestly? He DGAF about a romantic partner. He's the type to find himself as a 'high value' partner, so (to him) it would behoove others to look past any 'nonexistent' flaws he might have if they want to get with him.

Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, NY: What is something your OC is insecure about? Do they take any steps to hide/remedy it?
His Knee. It's a representation of how the system failed him for simply growing up 'too poor' to 'deserve' decent medical care. He's risen above it with how much wealth he's accumulated, but while he can box and fight with the best of them, his strength is balanced on a rickety, braced foundation.
Against the Kitchen Floor: Describe a flaw in your OC that they understand can be a dealbreaker, as well as what your OC would consider one in an S/O
He is nigh untouchable with as much money that he has, to either pay off the law or a scorned lover. So he understands that might come off as intimidating for those not willing to bend to his desires.
Which leads into his big dealbreaker, someone not willing to work with him on (what he would consider) important matters. Differences in opinions are one thing, but he's of the mind that he's the money-maker, he's the one with the brains to have amassed such wealth, his opinion/decision by default, then, holds more weight.

★ Pathaan and The  SUPERSTARS Of Indian Cinema!
February 8, 2023
Pathaan has smashed records at the box office and it should put into no doubt who are the superstars of INDIA are. The film confirms the box office clout of Shahrukh Khan which had not gone anywhere despite the last decade not being as kind as the decade before. There was a box office change towards the end of 2000-2010 decade where digital prints allowed far wider releases on day one and as this process got bigger and bigger it meant the genre which was the forte of Shahrukh Khan was never going to get record numbers. But through the 2010-2020 decade the numbers coming with films which were not action films were still huge.
Pathaan had a guest role for Salman Khan and the public response has to seen to be believed and this should be enough for the naysayers who have appreaed due to his last few films not doing as well as expected. Stardom does not dissapear with a few films failing at the box office, just like it does not come overnight and takes many films to establish.
The Hindi film industry is probably the most secular place there is in India but the fact that the biggest stars of India over the last two decades are Muslim has not sat well in some quarters of the country and the media over the last few years. In fact the third biggest also with Aamir Khan though this is arguable with Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar in the fold as well. The cinema going audience does not care one bit about religion and within the industry nobody notices the religion baring when things get bought up from the outside. There are these non secular voices also within the industry but the way the industry has functioned for decades these people soon become outcasts and work will just dry up.
The last few years has seen this Pan India thing pop up so you have regional stars names being put up as the biggest superstars of the country laughable as it may seem. There are no doubt some great directors in the Southern industries so it is possible their films can do well in the Hindi belts but that hardly means the actors in these films become stars and superstardom is far away except for the regional one which they probably have already..
India has seen seven stars achieve megastardom and two of them are Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. The others being Dilip Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. There is not one name in sight from regional film industries and yet today you see names like Prabhas, Yash, Allu Arjun and others put up with there with two superstars who are not only the biggest superstars of the day but among the biggest ever.
This is not to say that someone from the regional industry cannot become a huge superstar tomorrow because if the public takes to you then anything can happen but to reach the level of above names will take some doing not only for the regional stars but even for Hindi filmstars.
The simple reason why the the big superstars have come from the Hindi film industry is because the language has a wider reach. If other languages had a reach as wide as Hindi then maybe it would be a different story. Yes movies can be dubbed but that is the film reaching out and not the actor.
Basically the negativity towards the Hindi film industry has led to many claims as to which is the biggest film industry and who are the biggest stars and when the national media is like this you get the regional one badmouthing Hindi cinema as and pushing their own which is natural. But at the end of the day nothing much has changed despite the claims as the HINDI film industry easily remains the biggest film industry in India as content may go wrong but that does not change the reach.
As for the stars, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan remain the biggest stars in India and that does not look like changing for sometime yet even though the starpower may not be as big as it was other points in their careers

TWST OC Signature Spell Effects on the Body
Decided to try also offering this as something to describe my OC's magical effects as it pertains to the body.
(CW: infrasound, mentions of vertigo, implied loss of consciousness)
Tumblr media
Step in Time:
His is reminiscent of two strong fans trying to push you in opposing directions, trying to blow you into both the past and future, making walking difficult at first. A hint of the scent of ozone. To see him move in the dilation would be to see him covered in an iridescent film
Tumblr media
Fathoms Below:
It's the thrum of bass in the body, something that can be felt syncing with your heart, shaking your muscles, or making your eyes vibrate. The hums you can't hear can't be felt either, but you get this inexplicable feeling of dread or nausea. It's not a very ‘abstract’ bit of prose, so much as a description of infrasound.
Tumblr media
Recuérdame:
That fleeting feeling as one's dreams start to slip away, but in reverse. A bit of autonomous sensory meridian response from the music shudders down your head and back, with a general orange and  licorice sense on the nose and tongue.
Tumblr media
Silver Mist:
Symptoms of vertigo set in. Dizziness and extreme fatigue send you off kilter with a yawn. Tunnel vision, hyperfocus on one spot, and a weird mix of boredom and curiosity arrest your attention. The Blue  Green, Yellow send mixed signals but still beckon you to keep up. Your Attention stays caught until fatigue finally overtakes.
Tumblr media
King of the Jungle:
Similar to Tidus, except it's just the lungs and heart that rattle as a wave of fear overtakes. It's the way it makes your hairs stand at attention in preparation to bolt.

DAY 5919
StWork, Mumbai May 2, 2024 Thu 12:49 PM
Birthday - EF - Elena Iankova Friday, 3 May .. and all our wishes for a happy birthday
🌹
Yo !
here before time for a very big change .. haha ..
but at work and got a bit of time and BOOM !
got to say the travel from Juhu home to work Marine Drive in 30 mins .. amazing Coastal Road and the Tunnel emerging on Marine Drive , just before its flyover and simply amazing .. !
Super constructed roads, tunnel, neat clean construct .. no traffic jams .. and done ..
Ok just to change the topic .. here is something to know :
Know what is a "mondegreen?'
MONDEGREENS
If you’ve been listening to rock music, you know it’s often hard to make out the lyrics. They sing it their way and we hear it our way.
Jimi Hendrix famously sang the phrase “While I kiss the sky” which was heard by thousands as “While I kissed this guy.”
CCR’s popular song originally said, “There’s a bad moon on the rise.” Many heard it as “There’s a bathroom on the right.”
Deep Purple’s still-popular chorus (known for its timeless guitar riff) “Smoke on the water/Fire in the sky” was misheard as “Smoke on the water/Fire engine guy.”
Nirvana’s anthem “Smells like Teen Spirit” had the lines, “Here we are now/Entertain us.” They were misheard as, “Here we are now/In containers.”
When Elvis Presley sang, “Everybody in the whole cell block”, many heard it as” Everybody in a wholesale frock”
There’s actually a word for misheard lyrics like these.
Mondegreen.
Some mondegreens became so famous that even artistes like Hendrix and CCR sang the misheard versions in their live concerts in a spirit of fun and tease.
It’s not just in pop songs that mondegreens occur. The US national anthem begins with the lofty words, “Oh say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light.’ Some heard them as “José, can you see…”
Occasionally, mondegreens had an interesting side-effect. Joe Cocker sang of a ‘lovely planet’ which was misheard as ‘lonely planet.’ The latter became the name of a well-known travel guide series of books.
No one knows why we hear the wrong thing although there are theories. It’s akin to the game of Chinese Whispers where the original line gets progressively distorted into some hilarious garbage by the time it reaches the last guy.
Mondegreens are not restricted to English alone. South Indians, with limited knowledge of Hindi, were taught patriotic songs in Hindi by zealous teachers. A popular one had the repeating phrase, “Bara tamata.” School students sang it with great gusto. Years later, some of them realized the actual words were “Bharat Mata.”
A popular line from Qurbani song, “Aap jaisa koi meri/zindagee mein aaye/ toh baat bun jaaye” was understood as “Aap jaisa koi…toh baap bun jaaye.” The defective version made sense to many who saw Zeenat Aman gyrating on those lyrics while gaping at Feroz Khan.
Many who weren’t familiar with the hill station between Bombay and Pune heard the Gulaami song as “Haathi ka andaa la” until they realized it was “Aati kya Khandala”.
I have a friend, her name is Geeta. Her family called her Gitu. Throughout her childhood and youth, she thought Rajesh Khanna was singing for her, when he said, ”Mere sapnon ki raani kab aaye Gitu”.
'Mondegreen' sounds French but isn't. In 1954, a writer at Harper’s Magazine remembered how as a little girl she misheard an old English ballad. The actual words, saluting a dead war hero, were:
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘰' 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯.
She heard them as:
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘰' 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯.
And thus was born the word ‘mondegreen’ to signify all misheard lyrics from that moment on.
Turns out, mondegreen itself started life as a mondegreen.
sent to me by a friend .. 🤣🤣
More perhaps later .. or perhaps not ..
Tumblr media
Amitabh Bachchan
and some more .. a very pertinent article in TOI ..

"Well," Aadesh cooed, snide look offered alongside a small box. "It isn't customary for faculty to offer studentsss gifts, but colleagues aren't beholden to sssuch standards. Consider it an 'incentive to keep up the good work'. That information you provided has done wonders for Mr Khan. Do keep those little cat ears of yours open, and I'm sssure there will be more where that came from."
Inside the box were a couple of things: a revised school schedule to be more in line with a certain hunter, a couple of tidbit facts about him, and a Faculty-sanctioned pass to spend the next holiday in le Cite de Fleur 'for all her hard Prefect work'.

[Cloche’ Birthday Bash]
AHHHHH THE VISIT FROM THE SNAKE MAN HIMSELF!! I love interactions between these two so much, it’s not even funny- Imagining Aadesh using every trick in the book persuade Cloche, and but only thing stopping her is a dumb crush on some guy (only gear holding her moral compass together). This does make me wonder if Rajesh knows about Cloche or if Aadesh just takes all the credit 💀 Either way, I think the possibility of them being some sort of evil cartoony corporate trio would be hilarious-
Going into lore territory, but I just find the last gift extra funny cause R*llo and Cloche definitely left off on bad blood (tbf, he has bad blood with virtually any GloMas TWST boys). Things are just extra awkward now that Cloche’ “double agent to come out on top” act dropped. (She was still hiding behind R*llo’s coattails as the lever was pulled on our boys) Lost trust from all sides and will never live that down, still gets waves of embarrassment/almost regret even thinking of Fleur City.

The Silent Jungle: Residents of Importance
(The Jungle Book build for TWST)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mercy on my soul, I did as much study on regions and languages as I could to get this mess down.
@ameleii (don't make fun of me, I tried my best 😤)
@killersweetie @duskymrel @loser-jpg @sakka-kyuu
Languages spoken (Primarily): Bengali and Hindi
Any main language mentioned is just the language said character speaks most often.
The Shaan family (Bengal tiger beastmen)
Descended from Shere Khan, the first tiger king, the Shaan family has a long and rich history that they keep alive in their home. Their power reaches out to the entire region, and they’ve got a long running record of keeping non beastmen out. A record that has recently been abandoned for alliances.
-Aarav Shaan (King)
-Divya Shaan (Queen)
-Aashvi Shaan (Princess)
-Rajesh Shaan (Prince)
-Kabir Shaan (Prince)
Residents in the palace
-Zahir Babu (Black leopard beastman, retainer, speaks Hindi)
-Deepak Chatterjee (Bear beastman, retainer, teacher, speaks Bengali)
-Jayesh Khatri (Elephant beastman, sparring trainer, speaks Hindi)
-Swapnil (Snake beastman, retainer and advisor, speaks Hindi)
Neighboring kingdom (Primates and Humans)
In reality, this “kingdom” is really nothing but nobles and primate beastmen in one area. They welcome humans, and the first king had cast them out, claiming that they can take their human trash elsewhere. They did just that, and started a thriving community known for its parties and drunkards. The Shaan family is not the biggest fan of them, and King Harish often makes an appearance at banquets unannounced.
-King Harish Gupta (Orangutan beastman, King)
-Lakshman Ahluwalai (Retainer)

Today marks the 51st anniversary of the release of the iconic film #Zanjeer (11/05/1973).
Directed and produced by Prakash Mehra and written by Salim-Javed, the film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Pran, Ajit Khan, and Bindu. Released at a time when India was facing issues like corruption and low economic growth, Zanjeer became a turning point for Hindi cinema, shifting it towards a more violent and aggressive direction.
The film not only marked the end of Bachchan's struggling period but also turned him into a rising star. Zanjeer's success led to many subsequent collaborations between Salim-Javed and Bachchan, establishing him as a superstar and inspiring future generations of actors.
Moreover, Zanjeer had a significant impact on South Indian cinema as well, with Bachchan's acting inspiring future Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. Today, Zanjeer is regarded as a classic and an important film in the history of Indian cinema. Let's celebrate the 50th anniversary of this masterpiece and its contribution to Indian cinema.
The lead role in Zanjeer was offered to several established actors including Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Raaj Kumar, and Dharmendra, but all of them turned it down. At that time, Rajesh Khanna was at the height of his popularity as a romantic hero, and the film industry was dominated by romance movies. However, Zanjeer, which did not feature a single romantic scene between the lead pair of Amitabh and Jaya, marked a new direction for Hindi cinema.
Many actors who refused the film were concerned that it would damage their image, but Amitabh Bachchan, who had yet to establish himself as a star, took the risk and accepted the role. As history shows, it paid off, and Zanjeer became a turning point in Bachchan's career, paving the way for his superstardom in the years to come.
#AmitabhBachchan, #JayaBachchan, #PrakashMehra, and others at the muhurat of Zanjeer.
