Ok not to talk about that series, but i just gotta say that i can’t help but be… i don’t know, i guess grateful? that marvel decided to let this mischaracterization happen to the variant™️ instead of to our loki. (since we all know that it would happen eventually because they don’t care about his character or anything he’s been through. hence his characterization in ragnarok too.) but i do mourn what our loki could’ve been everyday. and how much he deserved a solo project or even just another thor movie that would’ve dived into LITERALLY ANYTHING about him. there was so much potential, but instead they killed him off because they needed someone to open up the doors to the multiverse or literally whatever tf.
the series could’ve been about literally anyone. that’s just how non loki centered it is despite it literally being called LOKI. i hate that they’re trying to push this variant as the “new loki”, and that our loki is “irrelevant” and “flawed” now when he literally was perfect before he was killed off (and before ragnarok.) if this was what new “loki” content would consist of, they should’ve just let him go since clearly no one at marvel understands anything about him anymore.
(oh and not to mention that they originally wanted to kill loki off in the dark world, which actually explains a lot.)
also this is sort of unrelated to the original rant but i just gotta say that i really and truly wish that lokius/mobius fans would stop acting as if they’re so much more morally superior than sylki/sylvie fans. neither of them actually understand loki or care about him, and they both need to stop claiming that they are loki fans. because in reality, they’re just fans of the variant and who they can ship him with. if they actually understood loki, they would dislike the series as much as the rest of us do. it’s written by people who don’t get anything about loki besides…
“haha he’s thor’s younger brother who’s jealous and so evil… he commits evil acts JUST for the fun of it and without any true reasoning. oh and he’s such a narcissist guys… it’s not like he’s been trying to prove himself (mind you this is something an actual narcissist wouldn’t feel they have to do btw. but since the writers couldn’t see through the Very Obvious facade that loki puts up in response to the way he’s been ignored, belittled, neglected, etc… they think he’s a narcissist.) to not only odin, but to everyone else around him in the first two movies he was in. and since he’s privileged, it must mean he can’t have any kind of struggles and is overreacting. yass put him in a time loop where he continuously gets physically assaulted 😍 that’ll show him for sure.”
and then sylki/sylvie fans, and lokius/mobius fans will ignore how bad this writing is, just because loki was dumbed down enough to be shipped with their mediocre ass characters. if you can ignore the VERY OBVIOUS mischaracterization of loki’s character, then you are not a loki fan. you’re just a fan of the series and the characters in it. both lokius and sylki shippers are Um… not that great to put it kindly, but lokius shippers specifically have this weird superiority complex over sylki shippers/sylvie fans in general even though they ALSO don’t really know one thing about loki’s character outside of the mischaracterization from the series, and from fanon.
anyway putting this gif here because it’s cute and one of my faves ^_^

Y’know….there was that post about fandom misogynoir and now that I think about it I realize there’s a HUGE amount of it in how people treat brunhilde/Valkyrie and Bruce. Fair warning I’m not here to be nice I’m here to call out some weird behaviour in fandom. If you continue reading you may find your feelings hurt.
Before we start here yes I know she had a girlfriend, yes I know people favour her as lesbian but she is BISEXUAL, Tessa Thompson said as long as she plays brunhilde that the character is bi, like the actress. we need more bi characters too because the second a character shows any interest in anyone they are labeled straight, gay, lesbian and nothing else. But that’s a bi and panphobia in LGTBQ fandom spaces rant that I’ll post later because it’s also ridiculous. And we did not know that other Valkyrie was brunhilde’s girlfriend until later so the behaviour during ragnarok is still odd.
ANYWAY. Brunhilde is an amazing character. First real main female character who’s black. She can fight, she put thor and Loki on their asses, she’s depressed, she’s an alcoholic because of it, she’s part of an elite warrior group that thor admires. She’s got so many more layers than other characters and she’s constantly tossed aside for these other characters. Tacked on as a flirty, sometimes depressed girlfriend to make a WlW ship and it’s clear people focus on the other woman in these ships and not brunhilde when she’s included in something.
In ragnarok she had already befriended hulk….they were goofing off together and he was calling her “tiny girl”. Anyone else tried that they’d get a nasty look from her, and a death threat. Her and hulk built a good relationship during hulk’s time there. And that’s before she knew who Bruce was. When she saves Bruce and thor from being attacked in the streets Bruce is in awe of her. He’s immediately asking questions and wants to know more. And brunhilde treats him much kinder than basically any other character in the movie.
And people toss that aide to ship ThorBruce??? Like? Ship what you want but please stop saying their interactions in ragnarok were loving and cute because they definitely weren’t unless you were watching a different movie than me. Thor belittles hulk AND Bruce the whole movie. He lies to them both because he needs them to get home. He uses them both. He’s rude to them both. He only uses the lullaby because that’s what worked with NATASHA. He’s not doing it because he genuinely cares and wants Bruce back, he just wanted hulk to stop destroying the quintet and tried the lullaby because Nat’s hologram message showed up and pulled Bruce out so he went with what was working.
It just really makes me wonder if brunhilde wasn’t black would more people say her and Bruce would have been cute? If she wasn’t bi would more people say it? I feel like a lot of other Bruce fans are gonna get mad at this because a lot of them are also thor Bruce shippers but like….give my man a partner who actually shows that they can and do care about both sides of him. And give my girl a partner who also shows they can care about all sides of her and someone she can be soft and playful around because they both deserve it. If you wanna get upset do it on your own post. I will block and delete you off this one because I’m not gonna spare energy getting into arguments that won’t go anywhere and I’m not laying out a stage for you to start fights. Calm rational discussions are welcome though. I understand having something you like called out is going to make you defensive but sometimes the reasons why you don’t support something else do need to be examined. Even if it hurts you. Especially when those reasons can unfortunately be a normal part of fandom spaces and you might not even realize you’re contributing.

A summary (pt.2)
Tumblr media
What Marvel, Kenneth Brannagh, Tom Hiddleston, and Kevin Feige established in the past regarding Thor and Loki characterization and backstory as children prior to Thor 1 : “Thor was the golden child that are adored by people around him. While Loki was a soft spoken obedient younger brother that are looked down by his peers (including his older brother). ”
What Taika Watiti and Hemsworth with the help of Marvel radically changed regarding Thor and Loki characterization and backstory as children prior to Thor 1 : “Thor was the fat kid that always getting picked on by the other kids, including his younger brother that even tried to kill him. Loki is the lil shit emo kid that like to stab and prank people especially his older brother for no other reason than for fun”

Marvel gave us Loki crying and admitting that he doesn't enjoy hurting people but does it to feel in control. They gave us a young and charming Loki who lost a bet to Thor and had to rob a plane. They gave us a Loki who realised he still is an Odinson. They gave us a Loki who now knows his story doesn't have a happy ending. They gave us a Loki who deals with the truth of knowing he got everyone he ever loved killed. And all that happened in the first episode. I take back all my critism. This show will be better than Ragnarok.

THIS IS PURELY MY OPINION.
i wish i could write a more cohesive argument rather than emotion filled critism. im just so frustrated lol.
this is just bad grammar with no direction or point whatsoever just a mindless rant
i didn't like the loki series. hated every character. Loki is my favorite character ever in the MCU. ITS INSANE how much wasted potential there are. The writers didn't even try. Im so frustrated by it.
Loki in ragnarok even after all he went through was not watered down like they did with the tv series. Ragnarok loki was sassy, prideful, mischievous, and sly. yet very much lovable. Loki in the tv series is soft and honestly bordeline annoying. They done that to make slyvie a badass.
Rather than building a character development with 2012 loki they rather do that to a new character. Loki doesn't trust anyone. Fuck i doubt he even trust himself. Yet suddenly he bared his heart to mobius and sylvie so easily?
2012 loki killed 80 people. HE WAS A VILLAIN IN THE YEAR THE TVA TOOK HIM. thats why the first 2 episode was actually good. showing him that he was the villain and his need of redemption. but loki would not accept that fact. he couldn't no matter who told him so.
i like the misc loki variants rather than slyvie and main loki. Mobius was a fascist. Ravonna and B - 15. i know they're supposed to be annoying but even after the last ep they're still badly written characters. The only one i liked was Kang. but kang was barely an antagonist.
The writing was overall bad. The thing i liked was the cinematography. the soundtrack was good. The acting was good.
Overall it was too short for what they wanted to achieve.
What i think would've been better if sylvie was introduced at the end rather than the beginning. loki and mobius bonding while scouring timeline to catch variants of loki and 2012 loki learning from those variant. Sylvie manipulating other lokis to do her bidding and at the end manipulating 2012 loki.

I wrote that called out post because of the way some people from Ragnarok fandom has been uncivil toward people who don't like Ragnarok. I replied to the OP nonstop, not because I am "butthurt" that the OP have a different opinion. Everyone can have their own opinion and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they expressed it politely and doesn't dismiss other opinion. I've observed that the OP is the type that dismissed other people opinion, especially if their opinion are in the other side from where she stand. She generalized and assumed people motive and actions, even though she doesn't have enough basic to know that person. This is the start of the uneccessary conversation with the OP in this post.
Tumblr media
There is someone that expressed her/himself that they are not straight but they doesn't like Ragnarok Loki with a valid reason to counter the generalization post that the OP made. I expressed my agreement to that person in a civil way.
Tumblr media
And this is how the OP reacted.
Tumblr media
She dismissed my (and that person) opinion, assumed my reason and trying to make fun of it (that led to shaming). So I clarified in my first responsed to stop the misleading.
Tumblr media
The unneccessary argument can all be avoided if we can be civil to one another. The OP should just responded with the "I disagree with your opinion, I don't find that Ragnarok Loki was downgraded by the director......",it's all could end here.
But the OP just cannot be civil, so they dismissed people opinion, and try to shame people by making a post that attacking the individual so her followers would come to that person.
This is why I choosed to make that fandom critism post earlier.
