❰❰ TACKLE ❱❱ sender hugs the receiver so hard they almost fall over / do fall over
"ROBIN!"
Priam had a few moments mid charge to realize that perhaps he shouldn't challenge Robin to a spar on sight, and instead when in for a combative hug tackle. "Oof! Heh, alright there?"
self indulgent prompts — ( always accepting ! )
DAMN THE ACADEMY STRUCTURE for how narrow the hallway corners cut into the space.  by the time that robin hears the voice, moments quickly fade into seconds easily disposed of.  they jump at the sound, turning around with half the heart to yell out a somewhat respect concern of atmosphere and the only students behind them are ones whose attention has, too, been pressed onto their lonesome figure.  it’s quite inaccurate to assume that priam knew they were traveling down this specific hallway, at this specific time, but little is left to imagination when a look sideways connects just as easily as priam’s body against theirs.
robin’s scream   —   or, whatever noise that fell from their lips   —   is muffled immediately by priam’s shirt when the embrace tugs them forward.  awkwardly, of course, and uncomfortably so when momentum drives them to fall on the floor.  expected due to the height and build difference of the two.   (   despite the ache and irritation, you cannot bring yourself to dislike this, can you?  an ally’s trust oh so easy to manipulate one’s emotion.   )
thankfully, priam has shown progress in his attentiveness.  he lifts himself up just enough for robin to inhale correctly again, albeit with a stutter and strained breath.  not dazed enough from the contact between head and ground to hide the laugh that weakly comes out.
“   n-no, i’m not...   ”   yet said with an amused smile.  robin pats priam on the arm, rubbing their eye with the back of their opposite hand.   “   but thank you for the greeting?  i’m glad to see you again, priam.   ”
confusion does begin to simmer within their mind as priam gets up.  confusion of quite a few things.  priam’s presence here seems... odd, since robin doesn’t remember seeing him depart from the army and reconstruction.  though, all the same, they can’t find it in them to be shocked, only intrigued.  the only other factor that surprises them would be the normalcy of allowing students to throw their full weight upon professors in greeting... better that than a sudden clash of blades, they suppose.
“   to be fair,   ”   robin rises to sit up, rolling their shoulders slightly in hopes of relieving any ache.   “   i didn’t expect to see you here.   (   definitely not first thing in the morning.   )  though, uh... i trust that you’ve been wELL—?!   ”   in response to... whatever the hell was implied, priam takes robin’s hand and pulls them to their feet.  a bit roughly but the assistance is appreciated.  somewhat.
“   please remember our difference in size, priam...   ”

“Hey, care for a spar?” If you wanted to get to know someone, a spar was the only way to do it. Until blades crossed and eyes locked, the intensity of a soul was too tame to be known.
Priam also only really had one other setting. “Unless you’re hungry, there’s a decent tavern in town.” He nodded to Andrei, deferring to his preference. “Remember when we were deployed out there together? Been so long and I haven’t gotten to catch up with you. How you been?”
The sight of Priam’s approach elicited faint recognition from Andrei, the archer lowering the bow he’d been practicing with and turning to face the other. The mission itself was difficult to forget, but aside from a cursory chat while traveling towards Enbarr, he hadn’t ended up having much occasion to interact with the swordsman amidst the investigation and subsequent pursuit.
He did remember, though, that a spar had been the first thing the man had asked of him last time as well. Considering his offer to ‘catch up’, perhaps he was just one of those hot-blooded individuals who considered a friendly clashing of swords to be some sort of greeting or bonding experience.
Unfortunately, Andrei was not one of those individuals.
“I’m afraid I’ve little expertise in melee weaponry that would come close to being a satisfactory match for your sword,” he replied coolly. The lance was the only other weapon he would claim to know anything about, and even then only a basic knowledge.
Neither was he particularly hungry, and even if he were, the tavern wouldn’t be his ideal place to visit. Andrei frowned in thought. If Priam was going through the trouble of giving him options, then this might be beyond a casual offer. “Was there something in particular you wished to discuss with me, or is this merely a social call?” he asked.

[ Nohr ] - A quick-paced dance that focuses heavily on precise footwork and bold movements, evoking the image of two soldiers in battle.
Priam was having a difficult time picking a favorite dance, but the one that captured the spirit of battle was up there. Ophelia seemed spirited enough to keep up with him.
“Ophelia- care for some action?” He took the first steps in the dance, on the platforms of his feet as though he was sparring.
the first song comes to an end, and with it does ophelia’s posture return to one of refinement.  they smooth out their dress and bow a generous head at their earlier partner to the previous dance; a lady of endless compliments and a lovely silver dress.  they are given only a few moments of relaxation away from the center of the ballroom before the orchestra finishes tuning and another song is pulled from the wisps of silence; ophelia jumps at the song, quickly turning towards the orchestra with a delighted smile.
their steps towards the ballroom’s dancing area are stopped by priam   —   ophelia squeals upon seeing him.   “   do i care?  why of course the heroine cares for a dance of valor and courage!  especially with you, dear friend,   ”   ophelia exclaims, bowing their head as they fix their dress and move into position.
if anything, the nohrian dance is one of their favorites, although the dance from ylisse proves to be the greatest on the list.
ophelia holds their head high and watches as priam takes the first few steps, quickly following after and keeping themselves close to him as they dance.  there is a lack of wildness in the dance that surprisingly is easy for them to replicate, bolding moving to the music as the pace becomes quicker, sharper, the image of a blade between two daring soldiers.  and it only brought forth joy to sense that they were, in fact, two soldiers both experiencing some form of battle within their past.
the lead is switched to ophelia halfway through the dance, and ophelia takes it with confidence, guiding priam into the climax of this proposed battle.  precision in each step, the turn of footwork, all is serious except the laugh that slips from ophelia’s lips.
“   it is a joy to see you once more,   ”   they exclaim as the music begins to slow to a dramatic, heart-stopping pause.  it is during that pause which ophelia slows their steps, giving over the lead to priam as they hold their card between two fingers.
“   now, a reward for this duel, the true gift of which the soldiers of harmony had been competing for; a stamp to give and receive!   ”

Line Out!
There is a very popular seminar going on, where nearby mushers living in the Faerghus end of the Oghma Mountains give insight to how sled dog kennels are maintained and how they can be used to transport goods during cold weather. To cap off the lesson, each of you are given your own dog, who is tethered to a heavy belt you wear, and you all must race through the snow with your dog pulling you along. The first five to get to the finish line can name one of the new puppies!
@radiantpriamos
“Oh-- what are ya gonna name yours!?” Patty was practically bouncing off of the metaphorical walls, cuddling up with the puppy she had been handed. It was a shame that they couldn’t actually keep them, but until then, she could at least pretend that this pup was her own. “I think I’m gonna name mine...Kevin.”
Let’s hope she doesn’t win!
Patty was normally quite quick on her feet-- though the newly added obstacle of having a dog pull her around-- as well as snow would definitely make this race difficult. It...also didn’t help that she hadn’t been paying attention to the lesson. How could anyone fault her-- cute dogs were involved! And the image of Priam playing with the puppies-- Patty couldn’t decide who would be more adorable in that sort of scenario.
She smirks up at the larger man, placing the pup down on the snowy ground. “Ya better not go easy on me, alright!? I want the both of us to do our best!” Even though she was doing her best to remain calm, her face was still bright red. Hopefully she could blame it on the cold... “I got a whole list of names, and a whole lotta dogs to give ‘em to!” Girl they only promised you could name one.

“Hey Arvis!” Priam hadn’t come to the barbecue because he’d seen a flyer- he’d smelled it on the way by. He slapped Arvis’s shoulder good naturedly. “Thanks for celebrating… whatever this is. I’ll take two of each of everything you’re cooking.”
arvis puffed out his chest with pride at the bluenette haired taller man. "a pleasure you could join us, priam." arvis siad, in the Fire Emblem Heroes™ pronunciation.

priam&claude boel r1
pillow fight with @radiantpriamos (continued from here)
Priam stared in disbelief as Claude healed from the measly cut he’d dealt him. Unless he landed a hugely successful hit, nothing would stick, and to do that, he’d have to land several in a row, fighting Claude’s regeneration with the wind sword’s own piddly build.
“I thought you were better than this,” he muttered to the sword. He gave it one last swing. He was unable to counter Claude from the stretch of land away that Claude had fired at him, so he swung at the air again, watching it travel to Claude.
> Priam Round 3 Attack Roll: 15, hit. -0.5 damage. Claude HP: 4.5/5. Priam HP: 4.5/5
Claude hadn’t managed to get him yet, but Priam figured he was fighting an uphill battle with a slope that continually steepened. It didn’t matter how much muscle he put behind the wind sword swing, it only whooshed through the air with a light whee! to little effect.
Well, he was in it for the long haul.
Not running? He did say he was a gladiator or whatever... open jeers and mind games would be par for the course. Priam catches up quick, swinging his sword to send a gust of wind magic.
Round 3 attack: Priam deals 0.5 damage! Claude HP: 4.5/5
Claude braces himself, feeling his meager resistance guard against this spell. A ranged attack, as if he needed more reasons to get as much distance between them as he can. A height advantage won’t work–standing still is the last thing Claude needs. If this guy could be slower...
Two arrows get pulled from the quiver, nocked and aimed at Priam’s legs. Claude risks precious seconds by slowing down, ensuring that he could get the perfect shot...
Close Counter activates! Round 3 counterattack: Roll: 18 + 4 = 22, hit. -0.5 damage. Claude heals +0.5HP, Claude HP 5/5
Round 2 attack: Roll: 16 + 4 = 20, hit. 0.5 damage
Two arrows fire in quick succession, and yet again a healing energy flows through Claude’s veins. With renewed energy, now’s the perfect time for a good plan to get him out of this mess...
...the woods? The cover is appealing, but it’ll be hard to rush through the unbeaten path. Not to mention, just the thought of having to aim through knotted tree trunks and bowing branches immediately annoys Claude. But Priam doesn’t seem all that skilled with this sword of his... a melee fighter, out of his element with a ranged weapon. Branches and leaves are annoying for a seasoned archer–for a guy like him, it’ll be infuriating.
And so Claude heads for the woods, relying on past memory to guide him through.

The strange woman Setsuna doesn’t know gives them something that makes the wall split open. “Woah, who put that door there...”
Her question goes unanswered as the group ventures further into the tree fortress. It’s dark. It’s the first thing Setsuna notices, the second being the blue lights that line the walls near their feat and cast a strange glow on them as they walk. Someone could get a headache looking at those, Setsuna thinks with a frown. Thank goodness she was made of stronger stuff than some people.
After a time of walking, four different pathways are lead out before them. A discussion immediately breaks out; groups planned, who should go where, what they should do...Setsuna doesn’t pay attention to any of that. Her eyes look over the four pathways quietly. Finally, she nods to herself.
“I pick this way~!” She declares in a sing-song voice. Before anyone can grab her to stop her, Setsuna heads down the fourth hallway, humming to herself as she walks. She can hear the sounds of people following behind her, but she continues on. If they need her, they’ll say something, and if they don’t need her...they’ll probably still saying something about her being reckless and making bad choices, but Setsuna has gotten very good at tuning out comments like that over the years, so she’s not worried.
Eventually the hallway leads to another door and an abandoned room. It looks abandoned. Most of the things in the room are broken and the tree has started growing in the room itself. Some flashing lights on the other side of the room catch her attention immediately.
There’s a puddle on the ground with sparks shooting off of it from a rope looking thing nearby. Setsuna hums to herself curiously as she looks at it. A trap? Not a trap? Magic traps were less fun then one’s she could stuck in...so not a trap and therefore Setsuna shouldn’t get stuck. She takes a moment before, carefully, jumping over the puddle.
With a proud giggle, she walks over to the blinking lights. More buttons, it looks like...some glowing and some not. Setsuna looks them over thoughtfully for a moment. Well. They’ll never figure out if they do something just by looking at them. She presses one of the buttons.
A humming fills the room. Something behind her starts to fizzle, and suddenly there’s a loud crack, like thunder magic cutting through the air. Setsuna jumps, taking her hand off the button, and turns to look at the three who followed her curiously.
“...what was that?” She asks. “Did it do something?”

Deirdre recognizes Priam as they both are leaving the cafeteria one day. She hasn't yet had the change to properly introduce herself but she's heard quite a bit about him. He has earned Arvis's respect and that makes her curious about her fellow student.
"Hello Priam!" she greets him with a wave and a smile. "Lord Arvis speaks highly of you and I'd like to have the chance to introduce myself properly. I am Lady Deirdre and I hope that we can be friends."
She pauses and stares. His bangs are horribly crooked. It doesn't even look as though scissors were used to cut them but that would just be absurd. When she realizes she's been staring too long, she blushes and quickly looks at her feet. "Oh dear please forgive me for staring. I had just noticed your... interesting hairstyle."

armored down
One of the discoveries the Faerghus elite are most excited about is the site of an old stronghold lain in ruins. The main problem, when it comes to excavating, is the fact the better part of the place is submerged. And yet, at a closer glance, it appears that this is perhaps no coincidence. Having stumbled across a set of strange metallic armours covered in algae and connected to the surface by long tubes, it’s been determined these could be used to delve into the under… [Grants Heavy Armor +1]
Whether it be the prospect of weapons once used in the Kingdom or something else entirely, the discovery of a stronghold piqued the princess’s interest. She agreed to join this mission for a multitude of reasons, but what she didn’t know was what their sight would look like once they arrived.
Edelgard bent forward and gripped onto the sides of a rather odd piece of armor- From the looks of it, it’s clear to see it hadn’t been touched in quite some time. When she began to lift it upwards, the sheer force made it evident that there was more than what she could see on a surface level. Lilac eyes scanned the antiquated item, moving one hand to touch the surface of the water before quickly extracting it.
Truth be told, she wasn’t too thrilled at the thought of stepping foot into submerged lands. It was rather dark on the surface below. The only thing she would be able to grip onto was those rather lengthy tubes connected onto some of the armor.
A weakness of hers, she knows. She placed down the armor and turned to Priam as she said, “The armor here alone is a clear indicator that this has been around for quite some time.”
Taking a step away, Edelgard let out a tiny sigh and added, “As for how long.. I couldn’t say. In any case, it’s clear enough there’s more than what we can see from where we stand.” She was more familiar with the Empire’s defenses than she was the Kingdom’s, but it was evident enough that someone wanted whatever they could find.

Itching for Something Real - Lysithea & Priam
  “Haaaayah!”                       “Oughf!”
                     “HUUUURGH!”                     “AAUUUGHH!”
“M-MIASMA!”
Out of all of the voices in the training field, loud and brash and full of vigor, one in particular managed to both be the hardest to hear and yet, the most prominent of them all. Far off from the gruff shouts of the other melee fighters in the sparring ring, a lonely, white-haired young mage was casting spells against a series of practice targets and specialized dummies. Lysithea Von Ordelia, magician and academic extraordinaire, and currently, an enjoyer of that primal glee of human destruction. She was alone - it was far too early in the day for the other night-owl magicians to be out practicing - but she didn’t seem to mind it. Her focus was on her magics, specifically in honing her aim, and what an aim it was! She cast some fierce blasts of dark magic at a few targets, followed by a nasty jolt of lightning shocking a string of dummies, frying their cloth. Not one attack missed. Although magic-resistant, these dummies had clearly taken a serious beating already by her hand, and she was eager to keep it up. As much as Lysithea was reluctant to admit it, she did love the flashy side of magics- the visceral feeling of seeing all your hard work made a real change in the world through a rather beautiful, and terrifying, display.
Footsteps.
Her next spell fizzled away in her hand, an instinctive reaction for safety purposes. Such sounds were not unusual in the arena, but they were far heavier than the typical footsteps of your average mage coming to do some practice, and closer than the distant noises of battle. Few fighters tended to this corner of the ring, for fear of being blasted into oblivion. She glanced back, covering her eyes with her hand to block out the sun and try to make out the approaching figure, squinting with some curiosity. Who could this gutsy fellow be? @radiantpriamos

Sword Boys Will Be Sword Boys
Continuation from here...
radiantpriamos:
Being a regular in the training grounds meant getting to know other regulars yourself. Priam was in the habit of focusing on only himself to train, but it was like his time in Chrom’s army nagged at him just a little, reminding him there could be something good found if he raised his eyes to look around. No, he still didn’t like group drills, but sometimes there was someone around to catch his eye.
Felix. They hadn’t spoken, and he only knew how to match the name to the face in passing. He paused his own training to observe Felix’s relentless training, reminding him of himself when he was younger, yet at the same time not at all like how he was. The energy in his movements was as zealous as any man’s could be, but his eyes… that was how they were different. Felix seemed to be seeing something Priam couldn’t.
“You train hard. It’s like you’ve got a vendetta against that training dummy in particular.” He knew it wasn’t, but it did no one any good to pry. Inner demons were one’s own. Priam kept Ragnell on his person at all times, but picked up a training sword, figuring it was better for a fair spar. “Dunno what’s driving you, but I can admire your strength, and dedication. You too worn out for a match against something that swings back, or are you up to the challenge?” Priam grinned, rolling his shoulders casually and stretching his arms forward. “I don’t intend to lose.” Ever.
As soon as the fellow Blue Lions student opened their mouth, Felix immediately decided that he did not like the guy much. He could, however, respect the man’s audacity in challenging him to a dueling spar. Felix clicked his tongue against his teeth in annoyance, already having been training for some few hours now. He was by no means exhausted, but he certainly was not at his top stamina.
But he wasn’t about to back down from a challenge, either.
"Are you that bored on your own?" Felix asked with raised brow. However, he stepped away from the training dummy and approached the other, the training sword still in hand. "Very well. You’re right that it’s better to spar with something that can actually fight back. Let’s see what you’ve got, and maybe you’ll stop looking like a nameless face in the Blue Lions crowd." Felix felt a competitive smirk pull at the corner of his mouth, the prospect of a good fight making him feel near-giddy. It wasn’t often that he got to spar with someone who actually looked like they knew what they were doing, after all.
"I don’t intend to lose either, just so we’re clear."

{ death onto death || Priam & Henry
#Your party is fending off the zombies around the perimeter and searching for clues when bizarre, spider-like beasts rise up from the snow all around you. You try to fight them, but your weapons bounce right off, so your only choice is to escape. Hop on the fastest horse you can get your hands on and hope it can outrun this new threat. [Grants +1 Riding]
"AHAHA~" /Run./ He imparted a cautionary warning without a word— his breath unraveling the bindings that tightly wound over his own vassal of a body. /Run./ The adrenaline simmered as it burned, emptiness crackling through his fingers into a tangible almost and an intangible goodbye. The smell of blood, dry and rotten, reeked of flesh long dead. And he laughed and laughed, spinning sigils that glowed ethereal as a means to lure death into death. Zombies were easy. Zombies were thoughtless.
His spells wove the godless kind of prayer that only laughter could understand, because there were always rumors that if there were any gods at all the first emotion they learned was to laugh. In a blaring void of darkness, he cast Death onto death, hearing their screeches curtail abruptly. As his spells fizzled into an implosion, the zombies had their lifeless color swallowed whole and torn apart— torn in a way where the string that kept them on earth would snap. "Now this? THIS IS FUN, AHAHA~"
Just as his unperturbed laughter glittered the battlefield, the ground came up right from under them... and then came the spiders. Not just any spiders. The kind that wouldn't take a hit, no matter how many spells he threw at it. Grimacing for just a moment, he signaled to Priam. "Hey! Priam, buddy! I~ Don't~ Think~ This~ Is~ Working~!" Other comrades were already shuffling in terrified yelps, hopping onto their horses and making their way out of the village. Fortunately, they had evacuated most of the villagers before this, but... "Let's go! Crows have to fly sometime, you know!"
"I'll hitch a ride with you, so saddle up!"

"Micaiah, huh? You have quite a reputation, as many royals do." Priam cocked his head, Ragnell hanging at his side. "I'd prefer to test your mettle myself with a spar, but a regular greeting will have to do. Don't get to thinking you can order me around, but I'll help out anyone in our band if they need it."
Micaiah had not been lying when she said that she had taken to the merits of strategy if not  taken to enjoying it, so for most of the introductions she had simply been slotting each person and skillset firmly into her memory. Priam had been a swordsman, confident, frontlines, and then she had moved on.
She had not expected him to come up to her in this way and she feels rather at a loss.
“I am she,” Micaiah responds for lack of anything better. She’s learned to put up with the royal title but a reputation ? - unless he’s from Tellius and Micaiah cannot imagine she could have missed him she cannot imagine what that is about.
She takes in his form and the sword at his side and wishes Sothe were here. Not the first time she’s made that wish but certainly a first for the express purpose of having Sothe assure her this is a real, actual man in front of her. Alas.
Letters will have to do (letters will not do Priam justice).
“I’m afraid any sparring we would do would have to be magical, but I look forward to seeing your talents on the battlefield. And while I do not tend to make a habit of it, please be assured, Priam, that any requests I make of you in the heat of battle will be for the sake of your own and everyone’s continued safety.”

@radiantpriamos {from here!}
“Cordelia.”
Priam nodded, approval marking his features with a brightness in his eyes and a quirk of his mouth. Nothing could fill him with life the way he felt before a battle- even just a spar. He drew his sword and rested the flat of the blade on his shoulder as he approached her. “Correct. It seems you have a share of my own dedication. It is no chore to a warrior to train, but a way of life. I’m more eager to get a chance to stretch my muscles here than I’d usually admit.” Complaining wasn’t becoming of anyone… but there was a such thing as too much idleness. He readied his sword, eyeing her and her lance.
“Common wisdom would say you have an advantage, but I’ve broken lances before.” Once she was ready he rushed forward, charging in with force that could knock her off balance if she wasn’t braced or it or managed to dodge his sheer amount of bulk. “HYA!”
“Indeed,” she agrees, adjusting her grip on her lance. “I’ll enjoy this vacation much more after I’ve finished some training. A spar should do that quite nicely.” However much she busies herself at work and away from it, she still intends to take advantage of the fact of their vacation. How better than-- oh?
Break her lance, shall he? A vague smile twists her lips, unreadable save for a spark of something in her eyes. No, that simply won’t do.
“Who said I would allow you to?” And she doesn’t, nimbly darting to the side and letting momentum carry him past her. Like this, however, she lacks the time and power to strike a more solid blow-- unless she keeps him off balance. A quick strike toward his legs and feet, and she finds her bearings as the other hopefully loses his. If he doesn’t act quickly, he’ll find the lance he was so eager to break quite willing to break him.

“...YOU MUST BE JOKING.”
Tumblr media
Their acquaintanceship has been one marked with breach after breach of social contract between a potential employer and his future employee. There is a particular boundary that need not be crossed, even as the lines remain blurry in this school. No one tests Lorenz’s patience to such matters, on fairer days.
Today, however, day intent on making him fall to early gray hairs, every person that crosses his path is in possession of the ability to find their way under his skin, with specificity.
“Priam.”
As the man in question is, now, standing in front of him, presenting him the chocolate-covered treat without so much as a second thought.
“I will be declining. Do not take this as a slight upon your prowess, as a mercenary; one day, perhaps, there will be work in Gloucester with which you are specifically suited for. It seems as decorum is not one of those tasks. However,”
Lorenz plucks the cookie from Priam’s hand, snapping it in half—noticeably, the larger half rests pinched between Lorenz’s own fingers. “I will resign myself to the spirit, but not the act. Good day.”

curse of the pocky
The last time she remembered speaking to Priam, it had been a lot colder and she had been forced to make a fool out of herself from the purpose of amusement.
Being bribed with sweets made the idea of this meeting's buffooneries a bit more pleasant, but she still could not help but wonder what had made her the ideal target for this.
Still. She would not complain about getting free snacks in trade for something so insignificant. But...
He could have at least been more considerate about how tall he was.
Mitama huffed and crossed her arms. "You are going to need to either lean down or make some kind of accommodation if you expect me to be able to play."
She waited patiently for him to do so. When it became an easy matter of resting a hand on his shoulder and leaning in, she did so. She wasted no time, opening her mouth and taking a large bite from the cookie he held in his own mouth.
"You win." She declares happily, stepping back and brushing crumbs from her mouth as she munches on her prize. "A shame. How will my pride ever recover such a defeat. Oh well."
