AIGHT ive been thinking about the calamity!yin yu au bc im disgustingly brainrotted and all the holes in my brain are being filled with mxtx ship thoughts.

ANYWAY

calamity! yin yu who simultaneously finds quan yizhen breathtaking and is proud of him and truly, genuinely, fundamentally also HATES him. But then stuff happens, character development, trauma, tragedy etc etc and we see it all unfold into yin yu's self disgust and his stengthening belief that his ability to hate someone like quan yizhen is evidence of his disgraceful nature so that hatred turns inward and the rest to exhausted resignation and theres a dynamic betwen the two of them thats moving from yin yu hating-loving qyz to apathy and self hatred and qyz moving from his immature affection of 'i want you to like me' to taking some initiative in 'i want to love you and to do so is to show you the you that saved me/made me who i am' like. for the love of god. they need an arc that brings them together in such a way that they both grow and benefit, in a ways thats natural and doesnt undercut the truth of yin yu's envy and resentment and qyz's wilful ignorance of yinyu's needs and emotions as an individual who doesnt exist just to give and be kind.

like. listen. im not here to give just one of them an arc. yinyu is going to have all his self hatred and envy and awful emotions and work through them to find the love he already holds for qyz and then LET QYZ LOVE HIM IN RETURN.

But I also need QYZ to have the realisation that love is a verb. It's something you do for other people. Yin yu isn't the perfect untouchable, endlessly kind shixiong who gave him the life he has and to whom qyz has little to nothing to offer. Bc Yin yu doesn't love himself, qyz has to do it for him. (yeah im giving them a 'let me hang out in your lair while youre having this mental breakdown and recovering from injuries and let me help you' arc)

I still have a lot of deets to work out but it's precanon divergence in which Yin Yu descends, wants to die, becomes a ghostly ex god that no one in the heavens wants to acknowledge bc it would mean admitting he's one of theirs.

qyz just wants him to stop doing these horrible things because even if you want revenge, it's not something shixiong would want if he were in his right mind and thinking like he usually does.

Yin Yu does want revenge. So he's bitter, so what. but it's not what he's doing. not really. destroying the things left in the world that serve as evidence of his existence just conveniently happens to double as vengeance. Whether it's vengeance against others or vengeance against himself is unclear. salvation is unachievable for someone like him, but he's always been good at self-sabotage. whats a step further into self-annihilation.

Never Fall, Never Rise

An AU where XL didn't ascend...but that doesn't mean everything is okay

Cults spring up convinced he's a god even though he isn't, leaving the awkward situation where his father can either anger the Heavens or the rapidly growing population of people who worship his son...(spoiler: he chooses the people)

XL ends up being constantly in danger of people trying to "prove" his divinity.

Things this story includes:

Characters all living at the same time for the fun of it (also I wanted SQX and the Xianle Trio interactions) and worldbuilding to fit

HC growing up and not dying (also finding a way to circumvent his fate and becoming immortal adjacent) (obviously he joins the baby cults for a bit before leaving)

Examinations of characters' families whether mentioned or not (including HX and FX and to a degree HC's as well)

Rivals to lovers Fengqing

XL & QYZ friendship (and salty AF QR)

HC getting what he deserves~ (he gotta work for it though)

Hualian together (like around each other, not romantically) pretty much since the Land of the Tender incident

HC living a double life since he's about 16 lol (one as Wu Ming, the loyal bodyguard and brat and the other as Lord Hua, the self made city master who everyone is afraid of)

HC using magic as a human (mostly glamours for himself and E-ming but occasionally making magical items like his dice as well)

JL is FX's legal concubine (for her own protection, he didn't want to take one) and Cuocuo gets to live and grow

No one dying unnecessarily (that doesn't mean no one suffers...)

And much more!!

However: I should warn you that this is an Omegaverse au (it wasn't supposed to be but it ended up making the most sense for ONE THING and the worldbuilding got away from me.)

Yin Yu lifted the visor on his helmet.

"Yizhen…"

Neighbors had called about smoke pillowing from this apartment and no one answering the door, which was stuck on the other side. Everyone else had evacuated by the time Yin Yun arrived. He forced the door open, finding it blocked by several pieces of furniture.

In the apartment sat Quan Yizhen in his boxers and no fire. Only a machine producing what looked like smoke.

"Yin-xiong!" Quan Yizhen launched himself into Yin Yu's arms. "You're here to rescue me."

Yin Yu could hardly speak. He held Quan Yizhen at arm's length.

"What— Are you, have you gone insane?"

Quan Yizhen didn't seem to understand his anger. "No."

"Then why else would you do such a stupid thing!?"

"Chief Hua Cheng said this is how people get firefighters to date them."

"…."

Yin Yu slammed his visor back into place and confiscated the smoke machine, pointedly ignoring Quan Yizhen's incessant calls of his name.

What sins had he committed in his previous life to be inflicted by this sticky idiot and that sinister lunatic? And how was he going to explain this to the other firefighters??

SVSSS is probably my favourite one but I am fixating on TGCF currently (annoying because I don't have any HOB books except for the first one, maybe I'll go buy a couple this month. Even if I wanted to read it online the only translations are extremely bad... which I totally understand, because why not support the author! But I don't always have the money to buy them, I've read the others though!)

My Ships:

SV: Bingqiu, Binggeyuan, Bing2qiu (poly with bingge), Moshang, Qijiu, NingFan

MDZS: Wangxian, WangNingXian, SangCheng, QinYao (but not as siblings), NieQing, Xuanli, XueQing, songxiao

TGCF: based on what I have read, spoilers (sought out on my own) and fanfics: Hualian, Fengqing, Quanyin, and Pei Su x Ban Yue. (Since I know how popular it is, I should mention it: I don't ship B. e. e. f. l. e. a. f. i understand why someone might, but I prefer them as tragic friends. I can't see SQX forgiving HX in canon. I can see HX realizing that he missed SQX and wanted to be friends again, but it's too late. Even in an AU I've been concocting, I don't see them romantically. At MOST I could see them as Platonic Soulmates, similar to the way I see Mu Qing and Xie Lian.)
