Rules every cat/dog owner should know:

Get your animals fixed(unless you want them to make some babies you get them fixed asap)

Indoor only. This is non-negotiable. Keep your cats inside and if you leave your dogs in the yard on a leash all day; congrats that's animal abuse.

Don't get your dogs groomed at Petsmart. As capitalism sucks the life from the front line workers, so does it for their pets. https://projects.nj.com/investigations/petsmart/ Groomers there are barley trained, barley paid, and overworked. When that happens animals die. Take your business to a place that pays its people and gets them properly trained so you don't end up losing your pet.

On similar lines, don't feed your pet anything from Purina. They are a garbage company that is owned by Nestlé, and they have had numerous recalls, lawsuits, and God knows what else. I guarantee they overwork their staff and that means things end up in your pets food that is potentially hazardous. Don't trust a company that doesn't care if it poisons children, bc they don't care if they poison your pet.

WET FOOD IS BEST. There are dry foods that are getting better with nutrition, but the majority of dry food is carbs and filler. Cats and dogs need meat. Vegetarian diets should NEVER be enforced on your cat/dog unless your vet explicitly says so.

WET FOOD IS BEST BUT STILL DANGEROUS!!! If you're cat food ingredients contains the words "carrageenan" then its not food, that's poison in a can. It causes cancer in cats and I can personally say that you do not want to find that out the hard way. Your pet should NOT BE FAT. This isn't fatphobia, humans have many different body types and we know that humans can be fat and perfectly healthy. A fat cat/dog is not a healthy cat/dog, they are different from humans and their bodies have different needs.

Dogs are bred to do jobs. Let them do a job and they will be happy. Keep them from doing their job and their lives will be miserable.

Putting down a pet is hard, but sometimes necessary. Pets are your friends, your family, and they will love you unconditionally, but they are also animals, and it is vital to remember that nature is cruel and sometimes it is just the best thing for them to not have to endure suffering. Some people don't think it is right to play God, if that is you, get over it. Your pet doesn't believe in God, they believe in you. You are their God and you have to do what is best for them.

Don't scratch at the base of the tail on a cat. It's not comfortable for them and it is better to just pet their head(this is not all cats. Some do like it but in general stick to petting the head and shoulders).

Get your pets vaccinated. Dogs especially, because they go outside they can spread so many harmful things around and rabies is not a joke. Watch old yeller and remember there is no cure if you or your pet get it, you are going to die.

The insanity over nutritional dilated cardiomyopathy is wild in facebook dog food groups. There is this guideline by the WSAVA (which is good info) that the people have begun to worship. The ONLY good brands follow WSAVA guidelines, you can ONLY feed those or you are GOING to give your dog NDCM. No exceptions. There’s only 5 brands that comply with the guidelines: Hills, Purina, Eukanuba, Iams, and Royal Canin. At least two of those brands have had cases of reported NDCM, but lets just forget that, because WSAVA is the end all be all of dog food now. Know what brands haven’t had any reported cases of NCDM? Inukshuk and Redpaw. And if those brands were killing dogs, we would know about it since sleddogs would be dropping dead by the thousands. You cannot be an athlete at the level those dogs are with a bad heart. That alone is proof enough for me that those two companies know what they are doing. I’m not going to give my dogs heart disease by feeding them one or two bags Inukshuk or Redpaw a year. Up until this point, the majority of their kibble diet as been Pro Plan Sport. And right now, I have other more important things to deal with. Like Flint’s lymphoma. The particular type which has a link to environmental pollutants, glyphosate being a big one, which is used heavily in corn production. If a food was going to have given my dogs health problems, it’s the fucking Purina with it’s corn. So lay off on the bullshit fearmongering. If you do not have absolutely solid proof that Inukshuk and Redpaw are absolutely without a doubt going to kill my dogs, keep your idiotic opinion to yourself. Thanks.

Purina Fancy Feast & Medeley canned cat food

I have learned over the past 2 years that this company has NO integrity, honesty and transparency are definitely not included in their mission statements! When fancy feast products became scarce, I started asking questions. Customer service said it was just an increase in demand and localized to some areas. The retailers said they were told it was can shortage. So I called the can manufacturers and the distribution centers. There was NO can shortage. The demand increase must have been by an invisible entity because the distribution centers said they were just NOT getting product from Purina and it was not local, it was a nationwide problem.

So now all of a sudden we have new labels with reformulated products. That is NO coincidence! They cheapened the product and slapped a new label on the can. That took time and inventory depletion of old product was part of the plan. Also the new reformulated product not only looks disgusting but none of my 20 rescues want any part of it after most of the cats ended up puking up the first serving.

This company is deceptive and does not have our pets best interest in their plan! My mission is to replace all their reformulated products with another supplier. Even if I have to start cooking for my cats, I will not be held hostage by a disreputable corporation that flat out LIES to their customers.
