bonus chapter: suck on deezpatch

"y'know, we're kind of giving ourselves away right now."

yn brings up a fair point, glancing at riki from behind the gigantic black cat squishmallow he's clutching tight to his chest as they finally tear themselves from the claw machines.

the two have spent a whopping combined amount of at least 150,000 won (not including the past arcade "hangouts" they went on) and are each holding a humongous stuffed plush- riki having secured the dark feline for yn, and yn winning him a chicken plushie in competitive spirit.

"psh, what makes you say that?" ni-ki scoffs, slinging the enormous chick upon his shoulder.

"oh i don't know, maybe the fact that we're lugging stuffies of our respective animals around everywhere? not exactly our slickest move."

"i haven't a clue what you're talking about. last time i checked i was holding a chick, not a puma."

"nah, you're such duck material."

"i am a PUMA, yn."

"okay, riki." yn muffles a quiet snicker behind his squishmallow, riki casting a small smile down at him.

it's far from the duo's first time going out. despite both being busy idols with exhausting schedules, they've managed to make time for the other, whether it's going shopping, walking to a café or just facetiming. it's a breath of fresh air, really. they somehow find a way to make each other feel like normal teens, just hanging out like normal friends would... except neither would exactly refer to it as mere friendship.

it's more than that, really. best friends would also undermine the bond they have, but it's the closest they'll get. the comfort yn gets from riki's company is too much to risk to ask anything regarding their relationship, and vice versa. clearly there's a mutual desire to be with one another, yet no certain label quite fits their situation, so they'll stick to the whole "unspoken best friends" thing for a while.

so maybe it's a bit more complicated than it should be, but back to the current moment.

yn unloops his used mask from behind his ears as they depart, discarding it in the bin by the exit with a sigh. he reaches casually into riki's hoodie pocket to retrieve a new one, but hesitates to put it on when he catches a gaggle of girls staring into their souls from across the street.

curious, ni-ki follows his gaze to the gaping group, gently touching the small of yn's back to guide him in the other direction. "they're probably just distracted or something."

"no, no, they definitely knew..." a thought strikes, and ni-ki can practically feel yhe warmth of the lightbulb that just lit up over yn's head. the frown that had so quickly wrought itself upon his mouth is quick to vanish, replaced by a cunning lilt of the lips. "...the focus was mostly on you, since they could see more of your face."

"what are you scheming?" riki deadpans, too accustomed to knowing when yn has a plan.

"hey, i'm not scheming. i just have an idea!"

with a defeated exhale, ni-ki allows yn to drag him by the hand into a nearby bookstore to give him the rundown.

"oh, that is a stupid idea. even by my standards, that is really stupid."

"it'll be so worth it, i promise!"

any urge to argue further dies in riki's throat as he makes eye contact with the other boy. fuck, it's so hard to say no when yn's looking up at him beneath long lashes, mischief barely contained behind them. bravely, he musters a few words.

"...hybe's gonna want to monitor us twenty-four-seven."

"they don't care about their idols being 'close friends' though, do they?" riki wants to question the use of air quotation marks around "close friends", but before he can say anything yn intertwines his ringed fingers with his and tugs him out of the store.

"when we get in deep shit i'm blaming you!"

"we'll play everyone like pawns, trust me!"

Ok, Slash has already said in interviews that his blues album is going to feature guest singers, like his 2010 solo album did. So before we hear anything about the official lineup, let me get my predictions out for the guest artists:

Demi Lovato was confirmed a guest singer after Slash appeared on a single they released last year.

Duff McKagan and Slash have been appearing on each other's solo projects for years, including Duff's 2023 album Lighthouse, so I'd say he's a top contender — though not as a singer of course.

My personal long-shot dream pick is Marc LaBelle of Dirty Honey. Slash called on Marc to sing on a cover of Mississippi Queen he did for a tribute album in 2022, and I think he'd be perfectly suited to a blues track. Slash had some lesser-known guests on his 2010 album, so I think there's definitely a chance.

Guest appearances tend to be a scratch-my-back-I'll-scratch-yours situation, so anyone Slash has worked with in the past few years is fair game:

Tom Morello (2020) — though known for his RATM sound, I wouldn't put it past him to branch into other genres

Black Pumas (2021) — honestly I know nothing about them

Michael Monroe (2022) — Hanoi Rocks frontman whom Slash has collaborated with before

Ian Hunter (2023) — former Mott The Hoople singer

Chris Jansen (2023) — country artist, maybe a likely guest?

The Dandy Warhols (2024) — reportedly they reached out to Slash, so not likely guests imo, especially given the late timing

Though this isn't an SMKC album, it's entirely possible that Slash's current bandmates could be involved in some capacity. Singer Myles Kennedy has dabbled in blues rock before, and Slash clearly works well with the Conspirators — though I also wouldn't be surprised if he put together an entirely new studio band with a blues sound in mind, the way he assembled SMKC to be a hard rock band.

And of course, there's a chance that any of his Guns N Roses bandmates could be involved...

You had been taking inventory as requested by Rodimus on the Lost Light. Shore leave was in a couple days and he wanted a shopping list of things he needed to get. Specifically for you, he said. 

“Can’t have my favourite squishy going hungry now, can I?”

God, you had rolled your eyes so hard at that. Now you were simply ticking boxes on a chart that Ultra Magnus gave you. The room was dim, but not dark. You could still read labels and such so long as they were in English. It was quiet as well. A stark contrast to the day to day hubbub you were used to. 

Soon you came across a box you recognized. No way, was it? Your favorite treats! Somehow Rodimus must’ve come across them at last shore leave. You could really go for some food right now too. If only it wasn't 20 feet in the air..

You let out a sigh of defeat. Maybe you could ask for some later. A sudden ka-clink caught your attention, turning to see a familiar looking cat. well, a cat the size of a puma but still a cat in your opinion. 

“Hello Ravage.” 

Poor thing always looked fed up with life and it’s bullshit. He seemed to tolerate you however, something you had grown to appreciate. 

“Something have you down, Fleshling?” Ravage stretched his joints and then plodded over to you, following your gaze. “Aaaah... A human energy treat. Are you sad you cannot reach it?” 

You nodded, like a disappointed kid being addressed by a parent. “I was gonna ask Mag’s or Ten to get it down for me, but both are busy right now.” 

Ravage seemed to mull something over in his processor as he stared at you, making you flinch when he suddenly scrunched up his lithe black body and leaped up the shelving unit. In a flash he grabbed you the treat and landed back down next to you, setting it gently on the floor. 

“There, now you can’t say I haven’t done anything for you.” The grumpy feline huffed, getting defensive over the kind act he did. 

You picked it up with a huge grin on your face. “Thank you Ravage!” 

“Yeah, Yeah. See you later Y/N.”

Megatron:

You and Rung had been talking about literature, comparing Earth literature to what Rung could translate for you. He was quite enjoyable to talk to! And had even recommended a few poems to you. 

And that had led you to here. Alone in Swerve’s bar with several tomes of Cybertronian literature that you couldn't read. The audible sigh you let out must’ve attracted attention, as a shadow fell over you. When you looked you saw the co-captain Megatron, regarding you with a gentle look in his optics.

“Is there something I can help with?”

Megatron was making an effort to be more outgoing to others, and had even come to you with some questions regarding how organics like to be treated. Other than that, you two hadn’t interacted maybe as much as you had liked. There was something fatherly about Megatron, something not many others appreciated.

“Yeah actually.” You moved over so the mech could take a seat next to you. “Rung and I have been reading cybertronian literature lately. But he translates everything. I can’t read the ones he ended up recommending me.” A sad look passed over your features, making the ex-warlord frown. Despite his many years hating organics, one look at your face and he felt his spark twinge with sympathy.

Right then and there he subconsciously decided that you, the only human aboard the lost light, were worth his protection and so much more. He had never had a sparkling, but you were pretty damn close. He took one of the data pads in his servos.

“I can translate for you, but only under the conditions you learn how to read our language.” It was only half teasing. Megatron thought that learning Cybertronian would be a very useful skill for you. You looked up at him with innocent eyes and beamed. Nodding your head. The old mech chuckled and turned the datapad on, his vents hitching as he read the first line of text… and the author.

“Oh.”

“What is it?”

He glanced down at you nervously, scooping you up in his servo to place you down on the table so he could read with you.

“This is one of my poems.” He seemed shy about it, not making eye contact. You smiled, he was still shy about his writing. It was very humbling to see your co-captain fidgeting nervously.

You spoke up to encourage him. “That just means you’re the best one to read it. Rung and I always try and interpret the meanings, but since you’re here you can tell me what inspired it!”

He smiled down at you, gently ruffling your hair with a digit. “You’re right, but I’d still like to hear your interpretations.”

In terms of where I would naturally live? Probably the Tundra Beast or the Whitewater Serpent. The {insert lake} Monster. Something like that.

...but, snow, rocks, lakes, certain trees, certain locales in general. As a prey creature I would find comfort and familiarity in the landscape of my home: a place I could navigate in familiarity and relative safety. I don't remember specific instances, but I'm sure that certain features of the landscape would become treasured landmarks to me, as signs that I was home and safe.

15. What type of enclosure/prison would be required to keep you contained?

Eh, probably a regular human prison would suffice. As long as the floor isn't gravel or dirt - I'd dig through it. Better make that floor be concrete and be prepared for me to rush you as you open the door.

Hey! Y'all are definitely Puma experts! And your page is fascinating! I am curious about a certain shoe, so I would appreciate it if I could ask ya about them?!

For the:

FUTURE CAT LOW P US BLACK/WHITE/CHINESE RED 300759 11

These are not very popular or highly sought-after of the Future Cats, is that correct? I tried looking on all platforms and I think I only found one pair for sale and they weren't in great condition. So I don't know if that means they are super rare and people are interested or if it means that they're not and there isn't much interest for these shoes.

I ask because I have a pair my brother bought just around the time they were released and I'm sure he only tried them on and wore them in the house maybe a couple times haha. I have photos I'll attach to this. I have the box and there is literally no wear on the inside. I'm just not sure if I should keep them as collectors item or if I should try selling them. Being as they are size 12 I unfortunately can't rock them as I'm a 6.5 women.

Hello! The 300759 line is a US Men's size reissue of some of the original EU 300534 (Low P) models (plus a few new colorways). These are equivalent to 300534 27 specifically. There are some manufacturing differences (ie. laces, the quality of the leather (IMO)) so hardcore collectors (I would think) would go more for the 'original' 300534s. BUT since these are like new and are with the original box they could be very attractive to a collector. I cannot say what price you should ask or what individual collectors would be willing to pay (I've been out of the market for a while.) I would suggest checking ebay, and if you do list them, the more pictures the better. Show the labels (esp. the ones under the tongue of the shoe showing the size and model numbers, factory info etc.) and the labels on the box. Hope that helps.
