RPing and figuring out the thoughts and opinions of an esper in qud is really funny to me, mostly because if you want them to have actual stances and ideology, there's WAY more complex weird shit that you have to put your character's imaginary brain grindstone against than a chimera or a true kin for example (which can be complex but doesn't need to go up against the big esoteric bits of qud's lore)

like what is your character's stance on being an all-predating bird of prey as an esper? what are their feelings on big daddy ptoh and his gang of chucklefucks? if you want to have a character who kinda knows what they're doing with their psionics you have to deal with so much more out-of-context shit whose actual presence in the game is almost entirely exclusive to lore

you need your espers to have a PHD in psionic politics while your chimera can just be a DnD character

Have you ever played Caves of Qud? It’s a rouge like on PC, very fun & funky lore stuff going on with it like Ptoh an incredibly powerful psychic bird god thing that sends it’s followers to kill you of you get too psychically powerful

You know I headcanon that Canon Akechi was in Inaba back then but ran away from Kanji until the first murder happened and Akechi was sent away, because of this headcanon my brain keeps going on a Canon P5 theieves group + Akechi reads (pre-Akechi blackmail into the PToH) the Crow Cries at Midnight, because the idea of Akechi Realizing he could have had everything he'd ever wanted if he had just taken that chance with Kanji is to tasty to ignore

Oh dang, that's such a mean (but fun) idea right there. x) What could have been, just by making a different choice... Honestly, it reminds me a lot of the relationship my lil' Akechi has developed with a canon Akechi in the RP comm I'm in. They've developed this really sweet, familial bond despite the vastly different circumstances and how "lucky" P4!Akechi is. ...though it probably also helps that I play his older self, and just the smol version has the insecurities of not knowing how to live up to his older self who is fairly well-adjusted, while he is still figuring himself out. To that end, canonkechi's a lot more relatable even with his crimes, and he's at least able to see that those crimes are a result of him never finding the love and support that deterred him from such a dangerous revenge plan. Vashti and I have had so many threads that have been hella long, but I would say an easy recommendation for them would be their first thread together. This was actually where I first developed the ideas behind Akechi's dungeon, since I hadn't quite gotten to those chapters in the fic yet at the time.

important facts i know for relatively sure about zymo-again

-i think she was from the (former?) windweird caste in perth before she became a condor of ptoh and then got all fucked up and de-espered but idk if she remembers that.

-whatever glow-wight shit she did to scromble herself from esper to chimera was deliberately self-inflicted. kind of her version of what that kelp scroll guy did. the details of why and how are hazy to her now but she's still piss-shit desperate to have as little to do with ptoh and the seekers as possible. that part stuck.

-pretty laid back by default but also very, very pragmatic about matters of survival to the point where she makes people uncomfortable. in qud.

-her only default 'positive' mutation at start is adrenal control bc i think its so fun. i think she used to have high ego projection back when she was an esper and its kind of a weird mirror of that

-hangs around with warden indrix bc they bonded over their ptoh problems (ptoblems)

-she and yla haj have a thing going on. of some sort.

This has been in my draft for a long time since I make the fanfic of the au, and I don't think I will ever finish this, since I cannot color and shading my drawing that well.

Basically, an AU of Chloe going toward Shujin Academy after the event of Miracle Queen, where she went toward Japan and take refugee there from the angry mob of Paris. I'm switching between making her at the same year as the 3 main cast or making her their kouhai in the au. This idea were made because I just want Chloe to face her own shadow and accept herself, with a more supporting friends whom are in the same situation as her and know how she felt so they can snapped her out from her comfort zone and help her get up.
