Velvet and Veneer were currently doing an interview, with the interviewer only asking Velvet questions as Veneer sat quietly.

"So.. Velvet! Some rumors have been circulating the media." The interviewer said, a bright smile on his face.

"And..?" Velvet had an eyebrow raised.

"Is it true that you really have a crush on (Y/n)? Apparently, some fans seem to think you look and treat (Y/n) in a certain way that's different from others! So, we have to know. Do you like (Y/n)?"

Velvet held her composure, even though inside she was internally screaming.

"Hmm, well.. I, personally.. think they're just alright." Velvet shrugged. Why did I say that!? She screamed inside.

"Oh.. so you don't have a crush on them? Ah.. I see. Well, you heard it from Velvet herself everyone! See you next time with the popstar, you know and love.. (Y/n) (L/n)!" Velvet immediately got up and left the interview area, heading over to a dress room designated for her.

Velvet entered the dressing room, groaning as she shut the door behind her. She didn't even want to THINK about opening her phone. She could already think of all the tweets or things that people would say about her and (Y/n). She had already begun to regret what she had said.

She heard a knock at her door, "What do you want!?" She shouted.

"Um.. it's me, Veneer. Can I come in?"

"Yeah." She said, loud enough for him to hear. She sat on a couch as the door opened, and then shut.

"I thought you said you liked (Y/n)? Why the sudden change of heart?" Veneer walked over to his sister and sat beside her on the couch.

"I do like them! I don't even know why I said that.." Velvet groaned.

"Oh.. well, you probably shouldn't check any social media apps. The fans are going crazy, and not in a good way." Veneer sighed.

"Fuck.. I just.. I do want to tell them how I feel but I'm scared they won't like me." Velvet took the pillow next to her and held it in her lap.

"It's always better to just say it y'know? You shouldn't lie about how you feel."

"I know. Great, now I'm gonna have to avoid them like the plague.." Velvet groaned, for what.. the 50th time already?

“You could just talk to them?” Veneer was confused, why couldn’t his sister just confront them?

“But I can’t! Not after that.. It’d be sooo awkward!”

“It’s not that bad, Velvet. I ended up explaining how I felt to my partner and it turned out great!”

“But that’s you! I can’t tell if they even love me like I love them.” She mumbled.

“True.. well, I guess it’s ultimately your decision.” Veneer shrugged as Velvet rolled her eyes.

(Y/N)’S POV:

You’d just gotten back from an interview. You couldn’t believe what Velvet had said. She thought you were just.. alright?

You frowned as you laid on your bed, pulling out your phone from your pocket. You texted Velvet.

“Hey, can we talk..?”

sent at 08:23 p.m.

You watched as Velvet had read your message, but didn’t respond. You texted again.

“I know you’re seeing my messages Velvet. Please, text me.”

sent at 08:24 p.m.

You huffed as she read your message again, still not responding. You then decided that you’d text Veneer.

“Hey Veneer! I’m trying to talk to Velvet but she keeps leaving my messages on seen. Is she okay??”

sent at 08:29 p.m.

He read your message immediately as he responded.

“Hi (Y/n)!! Velvet’s okay :)) I’m not sure why she’s not responding..”

sent at 08:30 p.m.

“Oh…” You frowned. You then texted him back,

“Oh, okay!! Thank you for letting me know. :D Sorry if I bothered you.”

sent at 08:31 p.m.

You then turned off your phone, setting it on your dresser after plugging it into your charger. Hopefully you’d get a response from Velvet soon.

VELVET’S POV:

She couldn’t focus on singing at ALL. Velvet was thinking about your messages and what she said earlier.

How am I supposed to even face them after this? She pondered, as she sang with Veneer. They were singing their newest song, “Watch me Work”.

Her thinking caused her to mess up a move, but she quickly recovered. Fuck, I need to think about this later. Velvet held back a groan as her and Veneer finished the song as the audience roared in excitement. At least their concert was over for the time being.

Velvet and Veneer walked off stage and headed to their dressing room.

“Sis.. you really need to talk to (Y/n). They’re worried for you.” Veneer wanted to at least convince his sister to talk to them.

“Veneer, you don’t think I know that!?” Velvet snapped at him as they entered their dressing room.

Velvet sighed, “I’m sorry. Okay? I’m just.. stressed out.”

“It’s okay. But vel you should talk to them, like seriously.”

“I know, Veneer. I just.. can’t.”

“Well, why not?” He asked, checking the time on his phone.

“I don’t know what they’re gonna say and I’m scared. I’m mad at myself for what I said! I’m pissed, like seriously pissed. I should’ve said something better! What was I even thinking..” She grumbled, walking over to the couch in the dressing room and sitting on it.

Veneer sat beside her, “It’ll be okay.”

She scoffed, “Easy for you to say.”

(Y/N)’S POV:

—

You walked through the long, longgg hallway of dressing rooms. You were heading to one in particular, Velvet and Veneer’s. You knew they’d be there as they just got done with a concert. Well, you didn’t really have to look for their’s as you knew where it was. You’d been there a LOT before.

You stopped in your tracks as you stood in front of Velvet and Veneer’s dressing room. You hesitated.. but knocked on the door after gaining enough confidence.

“Coming!” You heard Veneer shout.

He opened the door and saw you standing there, his face turned into shock.

“Oh.. I should probably leave you two alone for this. Haha..” He laughed awkwardly as he moved out of the way to let you in. You walked in after he shut the door and left. You saw Velvet sitting on their couch.

“Veneer, who was at the door-.” She cut herself off as she looked up and saw you.

“Velvet..” You started as she got up immediately.

“Why’re you here?”

“You make it sound like a bad thing.” You sighed as walked up to her. “What’s your problem?” You asked.

“I don’t have a problem.” She scoffed as she rolled her eyes.

“It sure seems like it. You didn’t reply to my messages.”

“So? I don’t have to reply to what you say all the time.” Velvet looked away from you.

“Velvet, what was that about? The interview I mean. You really think I’m just.. alright?” You watched as her face faltered, turning into a frown.

“No..” She had her head turned, but she finally looked at you.

“Then what? What do you really think of me, huh?” You crossed your arms.

Velvet gave no response as she looked away once more.

“Oh.. I see. You don’t wanna tell me? Fine.” You scoffed as you began walking to exit the dressing room.

“Wait!” Velvet grabbed your arm.

“What? You made it clear you don’t like me.” You didn’t even turn to face her.

“I do.. I do like you! I’ve liked you for so long..” You heard Velvet begin sobbing as you turned around, her hand still gripping your arm.

“I don’t know why I said it.. I was scared.. scared you wouldn’t like me.” Velvet held your arm as she cried.

You frowned as you pulled her into a hug, “How could I not? Your smile is beautiful, I love everything about you Velvet.” You heard her begin sniffling, signaling she’d began to stop crying. She let go of your arm.

“You mean it?” Her voice hoarse from crying.

“I mean it, Vel.” You pulled back from the hug. You held her right cheek with your hand as you smiled.

“Now, please.. don’t ignore me like that. I seriously thought you hated me.” You laughed a little bit.

“I won’t ignore you like that ever again. I’m sorry.” Velvet frowned.

“It’s okay.” She smiled at that.

You heard the door open as you both turned your heads to look at who had just walked in. Your hand falling from her cheek.

“Are you two together yet or what?” Veneer asked as he walked in, shutting the door behind him.

You looked at Velvet as she looked at you for a second, before nodding.

“Yeah, we are.” You replied.

“Ugh, about time!”

A/N: Before I dove into the world of Dialovers, I actually wrote smut angst fics and I usually listen to sad songs (no, I am not brokenhearted and my love life is doing well). This made me picture scenarios that would fit these bastards (cause as always Yui deserve better)

Trigun Bookclub Trimax Vol9 Part1

Vol 9 recap start! It's late and I'm not having that many clever thoughts, so more just...reacting and saving cool panels :D

Chapter 1:

Aww Nico and Miss Melanie checking to see how Livio is doing. Nico's really got the big brother vibes.

Great catch, buddy!

Smiling and laughing little Wolfwood! This is killing me with so much cuteness. Also, love how he got his big Wolfwood nose as a kid too (I mean, of course he does, but then you never know, an author might make all kids look kinda similiar even unintentionally by giving them big kid eyes, small noses and such stuff...it's just nice to see distinct facial features drawn in different age states)

*** you for that evil trap, Chapel.

Livio not saying anything to that in that one panel is telling a lot actually. Now we know in what way he himself is tied to that orphanage...does he consider it a burden too? I wonder if Chapel struck a nerve with that sentence.

And just like that I knew I was gonna like Livio. Oooh he had it coming.

Hmm love this page. It really feels like the start of something.

Chapter 2:

So so proud of him...I read other bookclub posts about how Wolfwood symbolizes the humanity that CAN change and boy is that right.

I can only imagine Nightow having SO much fun drawing this!! :DD I have no idea but if I'd have to guess I'd say he was just waiting to draw a full page cool blockbuster scene of Wolfwood riding a motorcycle with an explosion in the backgrounds. Probably been wanting to do this since some volumes. And finally got his chance!! Cause there was no need to draw this so action-movie epic-like and he still did, hehe.

First of all, this page here looks so cool! Wolfwood is so shapey, but also the pose and composition...*mwah* Then in this fight we get to see just how good of a fighter Wolfwood actually is. Not that we didn't witness that before, but it was often together with Vash, or if alone, like with Ninelives, he was struggling quite a bit. But here to me it felt like we get this glimpse of a trained assassin he once was, fully in control of the situation, being fast and efficient (without killing).

Such badassery!!! I'm a big fan of how Livio, despite being fully indoctrined, still kinda protects the orphanage too! Well, maybe it's also because Chapel is prob sitting there too and they still need to use the orphanage as bait but STILL! I chose to believe that at this point some point inside Livio was still acting out of attachment to his old home.

Chapter 3:

Hey! That's not a nice thing to say boy! D: Also, she's obviously trying to reassure the kids so don't make them more scared by saying it won't do anything!

Oh fuck. The kids are talking about Nico here but this obviously applies to Vash, as well. Wolfwood can not rely on Vash now who is not around to help.

Also, may I say, what an utterly gorgeous drawing of Wolfwood and Livio.

Chapter 4:

Oh I misremembered, he DID mean to kill Livio? Or only momentarily put him out of order, knowing that he has SOME kind of regeneration abilities? I'm not quite sure now. What I do know is that Chapel has a creepy grin and I want that old man out of my face.

Ah hm maybe I should read at least the next page before rambling off. He really only wanted to incapacitate him. I'm relieved!

Rude! You didn't need to throw him through a suddenly spawned set of wood!

At this rate, Wolfwood must be riddled with bullets. Shot from behind, from the front, lost a HUGE amount of blood from his shoulder...

...and yet he's still going on. Oh my boy he's such an awesome character. (Also quick side note, love how Nightow draws hands)

Saving this because awesome pages. This is only the second time we're seeing these vials being used, right? Funny how quickly they became such an important plot device. (I wonder when Nightow planned them into the story...I'm guessing kinda late? Just wondering)

He must have really trusted on Livio blocking that thing!

i have not worked on it actively for several months (i MOVED did you know) but for some reason viv and dana are my nighttime thoughts lately. i should harness this.

i still vaguely hope to have it out later this year.

the 75k here is 15 chapters and none of the interstitials written, since i also write those last to make them Appropriate

there's another 20.8k in deleted/need heavily edited/moved piles elsewhere in the manuscript. all of this wiggling around in a BIG part of why i don't wanna actively work on it >C

now for the actual fun bullet points!

walker is finally present in-story and in isaac's plot

thomas is full rev in his own subplot and characters (he's about to become a single father while trying desperately to woo a not-so-silver fox)

the mark & viv relationship is very painful

the viv/dana is EVEN GAYER. but. dana has nightmares. :c i'm sure this will be fine tho

chris is gonna take two levels in badass in this book and it's not even close to her final form

emil only gets one level in badass. i don't think he gets That Spell in this book. i'm not sure we can handle him having That Spell in too many books.

sam remains the goodest bean even as he peels back the curtain on isaac's motivations and finds himself agreeing with most of them.

isaac begins his villain domestication arc because the universe just wants him to be social. unfortunately, it doesn't go extremely well. the power of friendship can't fix everything!

i don't have a nosebleed count right now but obviously there should be more

do you like hammond and rory pain? you're in luck! they get bumped up a couple levels in plot relevance after their field trip to the dreamlands last book. and it's all pain! gay pain! congrats on unlocking this for them.

we'll finally meet caoimhe in person. not sure about her husband just yet. still minor but i think she and dante are gonna be the minor characters i fall horribly in love with for this project...

we'll also get to meet [REDACTED]! (hint: the book ends in a certain warehouse.) i'm very very excited. they get to be sporadically present until the big reveal at the climax, too!

other characters i'm excited about: a certain invisible stalker, who gets bumped up in appearance order for thomas' subplot. that character is one of the most changed in role and personality and i'm excited for her!

i have too many characters and i will not apologize for this. however, i will not be writing any novels with such a huge cast ever again. someone please save me via buying my books

- jiwoong: sneaks out to clear his head, go for a walk/run, probably at night. i feel like he's always looking out for the rest of the boys so he's always "on", but when he's by himself he can finally relax a little (not really bc he's still thinking ab them ((and what they might do in his absence lolol)))

- hao: sneaks out bc another member wants to check out something -- a new cafe, a new item, maybe they just want to hangout and explore the city a little -- and it sounds interesting so why not? i don't think he's the type to sneak out by himself but he's definitely thought about escaping from the dorms when he needs his alone time 😭

- hanbin: sneaks out bc he wants to buy something for his members, like bday presents! hanbin doesn't seem like the type to sneak out in general but when he does it's for other people :)) he also definitely feels like he's being mischievous by evading the staff like on the outside he's stoic but on the inside he's probably giggling

- matthew: this guy doesn't sneak out he just walks off 💀 don't get me wrong he doesn't like to make trouble for the staff or for the members but he just wants to check out this cool clothing store he heard about nearby and no one will miss him for a few minutes right? (he's gone much longer than that lmao and probably brings ricky and/or gyuvin with him too ((who also don't see what the big deal is lolol)))

- taerae: honestly taerae's usually too engrossed in his games to want to sneak out, but when he does it's because one of the other members wants to check something out and he's like oh sure i'll tag along (it's the first time he's seen sunlight all day 😭). i feel like taerae would probably sneak out with matthew a few times since he also likes shopping tbh!

- ricky: 9 out of 10 times this guy is sneaking out to get food 😭 like boys planet dorms? mans 10000% snuck out just to eat like he was probably inhaling whole pizzas when staff weren't looking and nothing's changed now that he's in zb1. when they were in japan he prob wanted to sneak off and get a strawberry dessert from one of those fruit parlors tbh! also would probably sneak out with gyuvin to an arcade heheh

- gyuvin: this guy is like a falling bar of soap he just slips out of your fingers every time you try to catch him LOL he's usually just bored esp when other members are busy so he'll try to recruit ppl to sneak out with him to get food or explore, just cute little hangouts where he can have fun hehe (ricky gunwook matthew are usually recruited) hanbin's on high alert constantly 😭

- gunwook: hmm i can't picture gunwook sneaking out but if he does it's because he senses something fun is gonna happen! he's always down to have a good time and he just loves spending time with his members 🥺 if he were to sneak out by himself tho it would probably be to eat at a restaurant or a cafe, actually this guy is a big weeb maybe he would stop by a bookstore and check out the new manhwas in stock too :3

I feel like borrowers won't know about myths and stuff, so how do they rationalize the weird stuff?

Hmmm maybe borrowers sjnce they're also unkown, being a type of myth kinda, have like a unique taste or smell, and thats why Wilbur doesn't immediately kill Tommy, since he's something different?

Hmmmmmm if you wanna include noms maaayybbbbeee🙃 they can 'feed' from borrowers in their stomach/storage/whatever word ya wanna use, since their Teeth would literally impale them😂😬

and also following onto that, after wilbur starts visiting tommy more often, he often gradually gets more snacky items

clean water, at least. i'm trying to follow along some common vampire mythis and according to european folklore it's said that because water can typically be so clean and unlikely or carry disease or anything along the lines of that, it is considered "holy" and therefore vampires cannot cross paths with it. so the water in their house as purposefully been made muggy and even then it's rarely used. but of course, also like the food, once the vamps get more comfortable with tommy they'll buy it for him.

yess tommy has absolutely no idea why these idiot humans have a disturbingly low stock of food, disgusting water and a strangely high tolerance for pain! he doesn't learn what they are until much later, and for one reason i've been bugging to talk about: misinterpretation. tommy saw their fangs early on and gets very antsy around them and he always brings it up when he's riled up and scared, which leads them to believe that tommy is afraid of them turning him, while tommy is actually very much just afraid of them killing and eating him.

(update, picking this up out of my drafts bc i randomly remembered it existed! sorry for the wait :'D)

ohh i haven't thought of it that way before! my initial idea for the dynamic between tommy & wilbur was to have wil want to visit tommy just once to see what his deal is and hopefully find a way to get him out, because although he's the pretty much the nicest of the bunch (from an outside perspective), he's a vampire and has his territories just as the others do.

anyways what turns into a one-time-only thing develops slowly into a friendship type thing, where wilbur will show up and just let tommy talk to him, and he listens. anyways i like the odd scent/being idea so for the hell of it, another thing that drew wil to investigate tommy was the fact that he was far different than anything he'd ever seen before. essentially just a small human, which he'd frankly never heard of.

hmm i think i'm gonna see how long i can go without adding noms. going down my au list, i think at least every one has noms in them at somepoint. so let's have a nom-free au for now :]

but that idea is really cool tho :00

today turned into more of a fic editing night because all of these chapters were a little trashy. but hey. better fix them now than never

Chapter 18: max makes a bet with rei that's "going to be an easy win", then proceeds to lose the bet 50 chapters later

i've always enjoyed including the detail that giancarlo has taught max to sneak out of the house. because gianni does it in canon. it's just perfect and i can't believe these two prob don't even talk to each other once in canon

and now max is starting to roast ralf too but also, nice foreshadowing there

Chapter 21: kai arrives at takao's house and it's. not so fluffy

the plot moved a lot faster back then, now kai is already coming to cherrywood! i could just do a time jump in my current chapters too tbh

so like, about the first 1-on-1 interaction in person between takao and kai that they ever have, is this:

Kai slid it open a few inches, just enough to glare at me through the narrow gap like I was a cockroach that he couldn’t quite reach. Or didn’t want to. “Hey,” I whispered. “I wanna talk. Could you let me in?” “Why?” Kai bellowed, not lowering his voice at all.

takao realises that kai has probably never had a single friend……… /plays the world's smallest violin (and, any extremely handsome and sexy person who has read my other tales oneshots, knows that kai literally asked johnny what a "friend" is)

Chapter 22: takao gets nothing out of kai, surprise

yeah this is the point with double takao chapters! this is my own story where i'm the one who did the decisions yet i keep imagining this being like a wrestling match between rei and takao where they fight which one is the protag---

this chapter is really just description of cherrywood and the garden. the highlight is takao deciding he needs to try if the triangles on kai's face are paint or not

i wasn't very good at describing things in these chapters, i remember struggling with that and rewriting things a hundred times actually. well, the good news is that it comes easier to me now so clearly something has improved.

🎀’s pre ramadan update finally!!

okay lol i cant really remember what i talked abt in my last one but first of all ramadan mubarak!!! to preface this very very long update how are you alice? i saw u said that u fucked things up with that talking stage (?) i think that’s what u said IF HES A GOOD GUY GO FOR IT!!!

you probs can’t remember but i think i did mention things about my friend group. okay so basically im just gonna name drop it does nawt matter but my friend emily, we’ve been friends since high school and she goes to a college an hour ish away and lemme tell u she has been so fake. she got a boyfriend and she likes to act very differently when she has one she basically talks down to me because i have a bad track record so there’s that. because of that i’ve grown closer to my other friends from our same high school who go to my college and we’re really close!! one of the girls invited me to her sorority formal and even got me a date! overall im really excited 🙈 i wish we were insta moots or smth so i could show u but nonetheless. now with that friend group it was originally a trio BUT this one girl, gabbi, we’ve been friends since 1st grade and she felt like she was excluded so we became closer and the other girls basically said i was replacing them and it was this whole thing but gabbi isn’t friends with them anymore but they’re cool with me? gabbi doesn’t care bc she’s mature and i love that girly for that. so much!

ughhh relationships. literally nothing i’ve officially gotten the ick from arsal FINALLY GUYS IM OVER HIM LIKE ACTUALLY OVER HIM. so amazing. i feel a lil lighter and a lot better abt myself. i’m about to buy a whole new wardrobe for JUNIOR YEAR. omg literally the time went by so quick i just told u how nervous i was to be a sophomore and now im one step closer to graduating and getting my degree. NERVY.

besides that school is going great as always we been knew im literally a smarty pants. i’ve been into like sza and frank ocean lately, my summer artists luv em SPEAKING OF SUMMER im so excited 🙈🙈🙈 so so excited. in other words i listened to enhas new ish album IT WAS REALLY GOOD. i’m upset i didn’t listen earlier. honestly the only grp i can some how care about is enha because lesserafim keeps on supporting isnotreal and it’s really tiring.

because of the war, i see how palestinians are still connected with their faith and still praying all though all that’s happening and alhamdulillah although i had not strayed too far from my faith, i feel more connected especially ramadan starting. i’ve been praying more regularly and even starting the quran again. inshallah this ramadan will be good!

3 Terrible Three Questions - Halloween Edition

Question 1: How do you celebrate Halloween? Do you do anything specific to celebrate?

🌰 Oh! My granny and I always used to go pumpkin picking. We’d pick out one pumpkin each, and then go home to carve them. They were never very good jack-o'-lanterns, but we had fun making them. The best part though was what we’d do with all the innards afterwards– we’d bake with them! We’d always make roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin nut muffins, and then pick out a new recipe to try, usually one that seemed weird. Last year, we made pumpkin pasta, and it was actually really good! I won’t be home to bake with her this year, but I am still planning to keep up the tradition while I'm at school. Granny even sent me a few recipes to try.

🎶 Not particularly. When I was still attending school in Fleur City, we’d usually participate in the Topsy-Turvy festival instead of celebrating Halloween. Our teachers would have us gather in the square and allow us to enjoy the festival at our leisure. I never liked it much – it was always too bright and chaotic – so I’d usually try to sneak off somewhere quieter. One year, I think when I was about seven or eight or so, I got it in my head that I’d simply walk all the way back to the school. I only made it to Noble Bell College’s main street when I was found and promptly returned to my teachers by one of the students, who’d recognized my school uniform. I didn’t appreciate it at the time, but it probably saved me a lot of trouble…

🏹 Well, when I was younger, I used to compete with all the neighborhood kids at trick-or-treating. None of us would ever play fair, but that was part of the game – we’d all find the sneakiest way to collect as much candy as possible without getting caught cheating. Like, if you just bought bags of candy from the store or got it from your house, you’d get caught for being too obvious, and same for saving candy from previous years or holidays. I always had a winning strategy, though: I’d start early, get my brother to trick or treat with me for double the candy, and have him drive me around to different neighborhoods for maximum candy-age. It definitely worked every time.

Question 2: Do you enjoy horror media?

🎶 I don’t like horror movies, but I do appreciate a gothic horror novel every now and then, especially in the colder months. The idea of exploring an old, secret-filled castle or mansion has always stirred up my imagination, ever since I was a kid listening to my hometown’s old legends… It's admittedly my favorite thing about living in my dorm.

🏹 Uh, yeah, of course! I’m a horror movie champ. I can watch any of those movies no prob, and totally don’t get scared and wanna hide behind my brother or anything… I’ve never understood why he likes all those movies so much…

🌰 Um… no. Horror’s admittedly not my thing. Though, I might entertain seeing a horror movie on a date. The idea of cuddling a partner during a scary scene does have a particular romance to it...

Question 3: Do you usually dress up for Halloween? If so, what are you going as this year?

🏹 Yup! And this year, I'm going as a chimera! Been planning the costume since August, and I’ve already got all the stuff for it. It’s totally gonna wipe the socks off of the judges of the school’s costume contest this year.

🌰 I do enjoy dressing up when I can, usually in something elegant. This year, I’m planning on going as a ghost prince. I found this lovely sparkly white suit on clearance at the formal wear store in town, and I can’t wait to wear it.

🎶 No, but that hasn’t stopped Delano from trying to get me to wear something. He even went out of his way to buy me this vampire costume that... does have a particular classical and gothic quality to it… hmm. I think I'll probably end up humoring him and wear it, just so it doesn’t go to waste.
