So, we can all agree that Prism is super sus, right? I mean, that backstory makes literally zero sense. The Cobalt Soul is not just gonna send out a random apprentice to do a survey on the Apogee Solstice with no way to contact the Soul or return.

Like, it's been established that the vast majority of people have no idea what the Apogee Solstice is, so most survey responses will range from "Whut?" to "Oh yes, an Applebee Sunrise, I had that once at the Chroma Dawn Cave, lovely cocktail."

Not to mention, "I'm just an apprentice, I have never cast a spell." Promptly pulls of a 4th and a 5th level spell flawlesly.

So, some of my ideas of what she really could be:

A Vollstrucker dispatched at short notice. Great at murder, terrible at thinking up a backstory on the fly.

Not a Vollstrucker, but one of Astrid Beck's agents, trying to figure out why Caleb suddenly went silent. Didn't think she needed a backstory, and panicked when she had to think one up.

A servant of the Raven Queen trying to figure out what happened to Her Champion.

Yet another Unseelie assassin, with a bunch of red flags that happily go ignored. Again.

Pure crack, but it would be really funny: Yu in disguise. When they are unmasked Erika Ishii jumps out from under the table and takes over playing.

General Story Synopsis:

Somewhere outside of time, the golden goddesses fued. A cycle of no end plagues their souls after they have let it push on across time and space alike. One of hatred, blood, and spirit; one of light and shadow. The goddess Din plots to destroy it all, at odds with her sister, Farore, who wishes rather to destroy the evil. Nayru, who trusts in the balance of the eternal struggle, proposes a solution. She will allow Din to put the worlds created by different ripples of time to the test. Din shall choose to revive a single puppet, and they will set the determining factors of the universe's fate into motion. She makes her choice, and Nayru begins with her work.

In a world still set in the era of A Link Between Worlds, a fabric is once more torn between realities. However, this is one far greater than anything before. It tears through time itself; a power only previously carried to the mortal world by Hylia herself. At the same time, an evil sealed away in this realm returns to life. The fused beast from light and dark worlds alike attempts to take control of the head-start the goddesses have given it; but there is no telling what the crack in reality may cause for existence now.

Premise:

The general idea for the AU is to focus on the narrative themes of The Legend of Zelda games, as well as Demise's Curse. It will heavily focus on the bond between Link and Zelda across lifetimes, and how their loyalty to one another affects the fate of Hyrule and those who live there.

Extra Notes:

I intend to focus on the Links and Zeldas equally, as a big part of the story refers to their relationship in the grand scheme of like... the entire universe. This falls under the idea that every incarnation is a reincarnated form of a singular spirit and goddess.

Certain unnamed heroes from the games are given proper backstory and titles.

The two Zeldas in LoZ and AoL are combined into one Zelda; more on how the Hero of Hyrule's story goes later.

Some events in the games may be slightly dramatacized or combined with elements from their respective manga. More on this later.

While I will be using headcanons for post-game, I am making it my goal not to do so excessively. I like my canon compliancy, sometimes. I will mostly only use headcanons to fill in plot/character gaps or make sense of timeline.

A lot of posts will just be designs and ideas dumping early on. Comics are hard, I'm afraid. :')

24 Days of Aliensmas: Day 12- Prism

Here's my take on Chromastone (or as I like to call him, Prism Break). His power set got drastically changed, making him your go to guy for light powers/energy beams, barriers, and illusions! I gave him "floating" limbs to imply his ability to create illusions, a suit similar to Diamondhead's since they came from the same planet, and… a brand new addition… CHROMA CRYSTALS! His crystals are clear now and contain glowing light inside. This light cycles through colors and can also express emotions, kinda like a mood ring!

Check Please! vol 1-2 by Ngozi Ukazu @ngoziu - Highly highly recommended graphic novel duology that you’ve probably heard of. You can also read it as a webcomic here: Check Please webcomic. Four seasons and a movie please, Hollywood!

Chef’s Kiss by Jarrett Melendez/author & Danica Brine/illustrator - mlm contemporary romance graphic novel - It’s so good and the food descriptions/illustrations made me hungry. Light on the romance, heavy on the ‘new college grad figuring out what he really wants to do with his life.’

Bed Friend - Off to a great start. Grown adults, childhood trauma, messy relationships, haughty protagonist: I am here for it.

A League of Nobleman - Too many thoughts for a quick round-up so I’ll just say that I loved it.

The Legend of Vox Machina - Season two was so good. I’m glad they split up the Chroma Conclave arc into two seasons. It’s too big a story to tell in just 12 episodes.

The Lost Tomb 2 - I particularly enjoyed Zhang Bu Xun’s flashback story. So sad, but so good. The bronze tree tomb is my favorite tomb of the series so far.  And even though there were no sirens or evil mermaids, I enjoyed the underwater tomb sequences. That water ghost was amazing and made up for the lack of sirens.

Never Let Me Go - Oh Chopper. I am genuinely unsure he will survive the series. Nueng is keeping his walls so high that I’m sure it never occurred to him that Chopper is a potential ally. Chopper is going to get himself killed trying to prove himself.

Synapse is forced out of krud city after a turn of events and is comfort by Magus and the verigreens. To start his friendship, Synapse allowed Magus to take a photo of him, Alex and Godfrey.

The Chroma Factions

Chroma are a rare subset of normal Mythcrean creatures, defined by their rainbow accents. If the main body of the creature is white, it is a Prism Chroma; for black, a Neon Chroma. Either Chroma can have the appearance of any animal, all that is necessary is the solid black or white, and the spectrum of accented color.

Children of Chromas will always result in another Chroma if both parents are Chroma, with the specific variation matching that of the parents. If the parents belong to different factions, it will be pure chance if the child will be Neon or Prism. Hybrid Chroma usually have the spectrum accents, but often have different colors for the main body.

The two factions are currently in opposition, fighting for territory in their ‘shared’ home: a large, secluded cove on the continent of Maliz. They are usually friendly to individuals not belonging to either faction, so long as they are neutral or aligned to the faction they are interacting with.
