Okay yes please on the Minthara’s servant in the underdark AU! Ramble your thoughts about it too me.

Okay SO SO!

Scenario A : we are also a drow

Not a member of her house but one who was given from another house. We are here to serve her and make sure all her needs are met, or maybe we were assigned as a house mage or a servant for another family memeber.

What matters is, she finds herself getting attached to us. And she knows how dangerous that is in drow culture, how much this weakness could be used against her.

She tries to forget us, to ignore us, or to even have us transferred to another house. She is in deep denial over her feelings

I'm imagining this as a slow burn princess/servant fanfic where Minthara goes through the 5 stages of grief. It's starts with her wanting to get rid of us or ignore us but ends with her defending us from someone. She fully embraces her feelings and doesn't want anything bad to happenen to us.

Scenario B : we are from the surface

Which probably means we got taken as a hostage or a slave, if we ever gain our freedom back it means we will have to earn it by blood.

Maybe she is the one who captures us. If you're an elf then you'll get the enemies to friends to lovers trope but expect a lot and I mean a lot of hatred from her at the start. It will be painful and filled with heartbreak and betrayal.

If you're any other race, she will be more respectful and tolerant of you. You're still below her but your mistakes will be forgiven more because you have the excuse of being ignorant and she'd be lying if she said she didn't find it endearing. You'll be more like a pet to her than a slave, she will be more protective and possessive of you. You'll both teach each other something as you try to overcome the huge cultural differences

Scenario C : we're a free person.

Could be a drow, could be a surface race. Doesn't really matter because you have fully earned your freedom and all of Menzoberranzan knows that. You still have to treat her with respect as a noble drow princess but nothing more.

Maybe you're a merchant or maybe you fun a coffee shop in the undercity. Whatever it is, you do this one thing that you find fulfilling and move on with your life.

The two of you meet by accident, or she finds your shop one day. Weirdly she feels relaxed there and starts frequenting it more and more. At least it's good for business to have a drow princess in your humble store.

Even if half the people who come there to see her are trying to murder her, you do put them in line because you'll have no drinks getting posioned while you're on the clock. Minthara notices and is moved. A romance slowly flourishes.

Well you know I'm gonna start with Dion, but I'll try to do my three favorite aquatos in-depth since you didn't specify

Clown archetype, because he needs to let loose and act more silly sometimes, needs to break out of his shell. Dion is completely embarrassed by this archetype

Ringleader, his passion for acrobatics and also his desire to live up to his parent's expectations

a princess or female acrobat type bc he has gender feelings. Though alternatively, all of the archetypes could be girls if he wants to have a REVELATION

Maybe a greek god "Dionysus" who could be his desire to rebel or want for teenage recklessness/revelry. May also contribute lots of dramatic poetry

Frazie

"Fortune teller" sort of her internal image of what a psychic looks like based on those scary stories she heard growing up, her desire to give herself permission to be herself, no matter what that means

A character who looks most like her, but can go invisible or turn other people invisible, or maybe an archetype that can take on the general appearance of other people. The mask or the mirror, the way she hides herself from her family but also how she is charming and can fit into friend groups and has helped Raz hide his powers when it wasn't safe

Knife throwing performer who throws psychic blades at enemies while doing twirls, the marriage of her acrobat and psychic selves

Augustus

A "strongman" the way he tries to protect his family and carry all their burdens

Ringleader who works to coordinate things and helps him juggle so many kids and responsibilities, his ambition and desire to make the circus great

I'm trying to think of a "dad" archetype that just lets him grab his kids and hold them close and always know where they are. maybe a lighthouse keeper! Because he wants them to always be able to find their way home

Other random ideas are Norma as a detective, Morris going full pirate aesthetic (bc pirate radio lol), and Adam having a ninja or a brave knight. Lizzie has a brawler like from mortal kombat. Gisu has a mad scientist or a jester. Milla and Sasha having archetypes based on the other, a disco dancer for Sasha and a more reserved teacher type for Milla because they've helped each other grow and been such great influences on each other.

If everyone was split up into archetypes people would find new niches and get to know new sides of each other they didn't think would get along with!

Hibiko had just finished removing the accessories to her outfit: earrings, rings, pins and knots in her hair, heels. Glancing out the corner of her eye at her company, the comment caused a gentle laugh. "It would be a challenge if you said otherwise." Hibiko half joked, knowing that undressing after such an occasion was a process in itself. With nights such as this, at a party with other royalty, not just other vaguely upperclass and important people of the kingdom, there was layer upon layer it felt of clothing and structure garments. Hence why her dismissal of the couple of maids prepared to help her undress was rarely accepted.

First was to untie the tightened sleeves around her wrists, necessary to keep the frills of her underdress from shifting up at any point. Then Hibiko undid the couple of fasteners that kept her overdress and skirt in place before finally being able go reach back and start undoing the buttons.

With that, she chatted about the night: the small annoyances and gossip from other princesses, the gowns she gushed over and suits the princess fawned about. Undoing the buttons she could, Hibiko turned to request for Marlo to do the rest. Little point in stretching if there was the help to be offered. It was removed from the bottom-up, slipping her arms out and lifting the gown over her head to be placed to the side. The overskirt was undone and removed the same, ducking under as it went over her head.

The more that came off, the less she spoke. There were more pauses between sentences, some um's and a couple trips and stumbles over her words. It felt natural to talk during undressing, though what to say and chat about, was not. Hibiko should be saying something else, right, not how her evening was and whining about boring conversations. She should be saying about like, how the clothes feel on her skin or - something? There was no fuss out of the other party, but it remained as an outlier. One she seemed to continue on with out of comfort.

Her petticoat was easily loosened, holding out a hand to take Marlo's as it fell to the ground, stepping out from it. Last seemed to be her underdress, a base garment for any outfit, but she still wore a key element for structure to the costume - her stays - and there lay the biggest hesitation. It was last, frankly, thick piece of clothing covering her; the beginning and end to the ritual of getting ready and unready.

Hibiko was able to undo the tie before, "Could you please," turning around and twisting hair over her shoulder to stay out of his way. She rambled a bit on something she already said about the party as the stays were loosened, the building nerves to decide whatever story she was on about, was best left midsentence.

Needless to say, this was not nothing for Hibiko. This was a sight reserved for high up, trusted maids. All that kept them from crossing that line were her bloomers, tights, and a delicate ribbon laced across her chest to keep the thin dress over her shoulders. The deep breaths she took to keep her heartbeat at bay were now evident, turning to be reunited with Marlo's stare, as if the next steps were unclear.
