I think characters that does not push you to take their last name are Lisa, Kaeya and Shinobu, Kaeya obviously because the Alberich hold heavy duty and "burden" while Shinobu probably wants to remove herself from the "family known for their priest background" history.

Eula and Kazuha would really really want you to take their last name (like it or not they are prideful in their own way)

Kokomi, Diluc, Ayato will give you no room, since they are the leader of the most prominent family/clan, you will take their last name to ensure the family generation. Kazuha is in this too, since he is the last descendant.

Yandere cyno x rukkhadevata reincarnation reader. There's a theory that cyno is the reincarnation of the priest that was loyal to the greater lord and I'll play of this. Imagine cyno gets all of his memories from his past life and remembers rukkhadevata and has great regrets that he wasn't able to protect her, so when he meets you her obvious reincarnation he makes sure he doesn't repeat the mistakes of the past. Your confused when some random person you've never met suddenly kidnapped you and brought you to the nicest looking prison ever. when the priest announces-- finally-- that you could share your first kiss as a married couple, you follow diluc's hands up to your veil. instead of letting it cascade down your back, you rest it over both your heads, as an illusion of privacy from the majority of mondstadt who sit within the church's halls.

diluc presses his lips against yours. keeps his hands at your waist for as long as he can. dreams, as he cups your cheek, about sliding his tongue against yours.

instead, he pulls away while the entourage cheers, still willingly captured under your veil.

"i love you," you whisper to him.

he nods, a faint smile on his lips that reaches the tears in his eyes. you reach up to cup his cheek, and kiss him one more time.

concept: I was scrolling through some of your previous posts for a second time today (still all very cool and awesome btw) and the one about the reader saying swear words without knowing what they are kinda stuck with me.

So lets reverse it! You, the creator, fall into teyvat and CAN speak the common language there, while also still remembering your own native language. and so your native tongue becomes super holy to them (eg. 'omg, the creator is speaking in their holy tongue, lets all listen and nod')

Unfortunately, this has its drawbacks, especially because the majority of the times you speak in your native tongue you are cussing out everyone.

3 potential scenarios have stemmed from my brain because of this.

You getting annoyed at your worshippers and yelling at them, then afterwards they all thank you for blessing them

Swearing so often that the people around you start to pick up on the words and now all of your worshippers are parroting swear words at really important events, while you try and keep a straight face

Accidently teaching one of the kids swear words and then klee starts saying 'fuck' all the time and the adults are all like 'thank you for teaching klee one of your divine words, it truly is a blessing. what does it mean though?' and you're just sitting there like 😅

The reveal that Teyvat's language wasn't your native language.

But that was still manageable, that was still okay

From Amber, to Eula, to Venti, to Kaeya, to Rosaria, to Diluc, to Jean, that information spread slowly but surely

After all, you didn't use it often, no one here in Teyvat even vaguely recognized it (not even a vague similarity from one of the other countries even)

It wasn't like,, shocking to the majority of Mondstadt's residents that you had a different native lang. (nor any of the other countries once they realized you were here, and had a diff native lang.)

I mean, you were the Creator,

why wouldn't there be some ancient powerful holy lang. that only you (or along with some lucky priest/vessel/follower) could understand?

However, it did become a problem when you, as the human experience dictates, got irritated 

You see, Teyvat isn’t an easy world to get used to, from the elemental reactions, the huge amount of hostile/active flora and fauna, there was a lot of room (even as favored as you were as the Creator) for accidents

You had already had a few mishaps, asking the waiter to bring you some salt bc ur table didnt have any on accident, bumping into the allogenes who wanted to walk around with you that day when they stopped abruptly

...

But now you can confidently say you can pinpoint the inciting incident in hindsight.

You had been traversing Liyue, and of course, it’s very rocky, even the well beaten paths outside Liyue Harbor were littered with pebbles and stones

So bc theyre respectful sweethearts, Shenhe, Xiao, Zhongli, Ganyu and the rest of the Adepti wnated to have a calm brunch at Cloud Retainer’s Abode w/ u <3

On the way up, bc u insisted normal walking was fine- no Xiao you want to see the sights teleportation isn’t necessary right now- nO Shenhe, really, the walk will be good for you, you don’t need to be carried-

Zhongli. 

You are supposed to be a mortal these days, not a 60 meter/feet long dragon- 

WHAM (u were so busy telling them to quit it that u werent watching ur path, aint none of their thousands of years old reflexes good enough to save u from being a clumsy fuck)

and your on ur ass.

“Fuck, ow,” immediately Shenhe has swept you up, Ganyu is rambling nervously, Xiao jumped but hasn’t said anything, but you can feel his worry from how tense he is, Zhongli’s hands are hovering, unsure if he should touch, and Shenhe- Shenhe- you can’t breathe-

Now, everytime you have dinner with any of the Liyue characters they bow their heads, and in unison “Fuck guys stop I’m fine”

Bc you spent a few weeks in Liyue, and you had a lot of events to attend, little incidents like this happened everywhere

You blame Zhongli and Ningguang.

Fuckers wanted to make sure they showed you utmost respect, so they both remembered every. single. word. of your language you have ever said around them.

Between Zhongli’s memory and elegant appearance, and Ningguang’s influence, your cuss words spread overnight

Families are now sitting around their dinner and thanking you for Teyvat’s bounty of food, “Thank you Creator for our meal, fuck guys stop I’m fine.” the kids and everything 💀

Liyue literally has become the most dirty mouthed city overnight, and they look SO PROUD OF IT  😭 😭

ㅤㅤYou liked to replay that night, the night he proposed to you, in your head as the two of you began wedding preparations. Thinking of the engagement ring sliding down your finger as you made plans for the wedding cake (he preferred a cake with the sweetness level lowered accordingly to match his palette), thinking of the way he swept you up in his arms while you were being fitted for your dress, thinking about the amount of unbridled affection and love in his eyes as you prepared yourself to do a practice walk down the aisle you’d walk on come next morning.

ㅤㅤ“You’re beautiful,” he murmured that night as he wrapped you up in a blanket and pulled you into his warm embrace. “You’re amazing.” He then pressed a kiss to your cheek. “You’re all that I could ever want or need.” He burrowed his face into the crook of your neck, warm breath fanning out against your collarbone, eliciting a giggle from you. “You’re my everything.”

You remembered watching him sleep, head propped up by one hand, the other still clasping your fiance’s, watching his chest rise and fall steadily with each intake of breath, admiring the curve of his jawline, drinking in every detail of his face, his body, his entire being so it would be permanently seared into your brain.

ㅤㅤA cheer rose up from the people seated within the quaint little chapel he’d picked out, everyone rising to their feet and clapping loudly. You turned from your now-husband to wave at them all, blowing kisses towards everyone before turning back to face him. 

ㅤㅤ“Hey,” he said softly, quick to pull you in by the waist, using his free hand to push up your veil to get a better look at your face.

The Beginning

The very first worshippers of Barbatos were the Gunnhildrs, the leader of the clan worked under Decarabian, but the whole clan left when he could no longer stand the selfish god.

When they went into the storm, the man's daughter prayed for help and the faith she would get an answer became the source of Wispti's power. In response, he gave her clan shelter and gave her specifically the power to protect, and in thanks, she became his first priestess and led her people in the revolution. This practice would later be adopted into the Church.

Modern Day

The current church has a very interesting power dynamic that I was thinking about. See, when I was looking up the roles in the church and realizing that we only met the Sisters, right?

First of all, there is no "Father" priest role in the church either, which is curious since it obviously takes inspiration from Catholicism. I'm curious if the reason there is no formal "father" power dynamic in the church is because in the same way Barbatos calls Mondstadt his children, do they also call him their Father?

Does the Church call it disrespectful or inappropriate to have that same title given to a human? Is it because the Church was formed by Priestess Lady Gunnhildr, and as such, the "father" role is insignificant in comparison, which is why there is a "Mother" role? Is the church more of a women-driven and led organization? But if so, has that changed in recent years because Seamus Pegg is the running authority of the church.

Second of all, what the hell does the Church do? Seamus Pegg is currently out with GrandMaster Varka on the unexplained expedition. Those are the two leading government officials of Mondstadt btw, and since Seamus left, Barbara says that "He's been so busy that he seldom ever leaves his room. Even the other sisters in the Church rarely ever see him."

What... responsibilities does he have that causes that amount of work?

In addition, what the hell does the Church have ? When we go to steal the Holy Lyre, there were 8-12 knights patrolling and actively guarding the treasures and books. That is in comparison to the 13 knights in the open world aspect of Mondstadt City alone. Why is there near double that amount of knights under the Church when 80% of the others are out?

Does it have anything to do with the underground ring of falsified Barbatos relics, such as the vial of air he breathed that Diluc is searching for?

Well !! Who can say ?? Barbara is still only a Deaconess, Rosaria doesn't care enough, and I honestly think Venti is a little uncertain on how to interact with his church so they aren't saying anything helpful.
