All bad apples. #abolishthepolice #Repost @callmeshivy with @use.repost ・・・ I am just heartbroken by this one. Keenan Anderson was somebody’s high school ENGLISH TEACHER!? A DAMN TEACHER… and TASED him to death!? This man flagged down officers for help following his involvement in a CAR ACCIDENT!? And what did he get??? An overzealous and egotistical cop that triggered events that would steal his life. NOTHING has improved since 2020! We STILL have NOT realized NATIONAL police reform! STILL. This time… we lost a TEACHER because of inaction. #justiceforkeenananderson #keenananderson #blacklivesmatter #sayhisname #defundthepolice #lapd #policebrutality #policemurder #police #racism #acab #policeviolence https://www.instagram.com/p/CnXA0JAOSg-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Racism. It’s because racism. It’s because the police state would rather kill an innocent or compliant Black person than to risk harming a white mass shooter. #fuckthepolice #acab #policeviolence #policestate #guns #fuckguns #gunviolence #racism #whiteprivilege #ammahstar #wokedoctors #me #personal https://www.instagram.com/p/CfrQQ8BLyHs/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Via @yourhumanrightsllawyer An 11 year old child was shot in the chest by a police officer — after he called 911 to help his mother.
Thank god this baby survived. According to his mother and the family’s attorney, he is completely traumatized and will require counseling. His family is calling for the officer who shot him, Greg Capers, to be fired immediately.

⚖️#ArtIsAWeapon #SayHerName #AtatianaJefferson #JusticeForTay Thinking of her family - especially her nephew - who will spend another holiday without her, and hoping they feel some relief now that her killer has been found guilty and sentenced to prison. Portrait by #artist @lmurphyarts • • Via @CNN and @NYTimes - Former Texas police officer Aaron Dean, was sentenced to nearly 12 years in prison on December 15, 2022, following his manslaughter conviction for shooting Atatiana Jefferson in her own home in October 2019. The 38-year-old White former Fort Worth police officer, had faced up to 20 years in prison for killing Jefferson, a 28-year-old Black woman. The sentence comes more than three years after the deadly encounter in which Dean and his partner responded to Jefferson's house around 2:25 a.m. on October 12, 2019. They arrived at her house after a neighbor called a non-emergency police line to report that her doors were open. They did not announce themselves as police at the home, and Dean then fatally shot through a bedroom window at Jefferson, who had been playing video games with her nephew Zion Carr. Now 11, her nephew testified at the trial that he thought it was a dream when he saw his aunt collapse. “She was crying and just shaking,” said Zion... Jefferson's relatives read impact statements after the term of 11 years, 10 months and 12 days in prison was announced. #PoliceViolence #PoliceKillings #BlackLivesMatter https://www.instagram.com/p/CmkEGNOPrmI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

City apologizes for lynching of Jesse Washington
May 15th marks the 100th anniversary what’s known by many as The Waco Horror, the lynching of 17 –year-old Jesse Washington.
The City of Waco commemorated the day with a proclamation as well as delivering an official apology.
Mayor Malcom Duncan Jr. said the city issued an apology because they need to ‘own up,’ to their past transgressions.
“We profoundly regret and condemn any instances where a citizen of Waco has not received equal protection under the law,” Duncan said

Posted @withrepost • @lanaparrilla How to use amplify your voices for the women in Iran!!! Swipe and read! Thank you 🙏🏽 #letwomenhavetheirfreedom Repost from @southernprisonculture • We’re fighting for human rights all over the world. This story of this Iranian woman is beyond devastating. No woman should die because of the lack of a headscarf. Via @leiaslegacy • EDIT: it’s been brought to my attention that her Kurdish name, her real name that her mother was crying on her grave, is Jina. #JinaAmini. Her #Kurdish identity shouldn’t be erased, and Iran’s government erasure of ethnic/religious minorities extended to that Kurdish names are not allowed. Say her name: Jina Amini. Iranian people are bravely standing up to their theocratic dictatorship in the wake of the police murder of #MahsaAmini, who was beaten to death by the “morality police” for “improperly” wearing the compulsory hijab. The protests since have been awe-inspiring as Iranians fill the streets shouting for an end to the oppressive regime. The government has largely cut off their access to the internet so the world can’t bear witness to the atrocities against protesters, but Iranians have said that the best thing we can do for them is keep their message alive and call our own governments to account to hold Iran’s leaders accountable. In images 7-9 you’ll learn how you can use #Tor to easily download a chrome extension in your browser that, when switched on, can help Iranians access internet through a proxy server. Also, follow @1500tasvir to see the protests and the police brutality they are facing. Please, if you know of any other Iranian accounts posting on the protests, please drop them in the comments. . . . . . . . #humanrights #mahsaaminiمهسا_امینی #mahsa_amini #opiran #womensrights #policebrutality #iran #moralitypolice #policestate #policeviolence #protests #iranianwomen #womenlifefreedom (at Manchester, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci-CeUiMCXa/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
