I honestly want Palworld to do well because it does a bunch of things pokemon company have said just are not possible to do in a game (most of the survival aspect, having pokemon work on your base, human AI for enemies and traders outside of static conversation screens, pokebattles in real time, voice acting (uncomfirmed)) and here comes this much smaller company like "what, like it's hard?"

You know what's kinda insane to me?

The fact that Ash Ketchum isn't famous in the pokemon universe, like in-universe.

You mean to tell me that a ten-year-old going region to region, meeting multiple legendaries and solving insane problems with his recognizable as fuck pikachu isn't atleast twitter famous? Not even considered a cryptic that when people say that they met him, he beat their asses in a pokebattle, then continued to also beat a legendary/an evil league/team rocket, that people online don't go: "oooh another region/world wide incident that can go on the conspiracy board, time to put new red threads between this major world-impscting event and the fact that this kid might me god."

I mean, he atleast should be famous in Kalos from the jumping-off-the-Prism-tower-fiasco alone but he also sorta stopped an artificial apocalypse set up by an evil pokemon league using an unidentified legendary and a previously long lost mega-evolution form from a starter pokemon. (It's been a while since I watched the anime, don't get on my ass).

I mean, pokemon champions are kind of considered famous because people recognise them in-universe right? Shouldn't someone online have recognised him from hanging out with so many champions alone? You mean to tell me that if some random ten-year old started showing up in news articles with famous people even if he was just in the background, no one in the entire world would make a reddit post saying 'hey look at this funny coincidence, this kid has been spotted with 5 champions or something' ????????

I get it that he wouldn't become well known from the mewtwo incident - because mewtwo erased the memories of everyone involved if I remember correctly - but you mean to tell me no one remembered him from the three legendary kanto birds and Lugia (saved the world), Entei, Celebi, Latio and Latias and literally every other movie? Sure, say those aren't cannon. WHAT ABOUT THE TIME HE LITERALLY GOT KIDNAPPED BY A THOUGHT TO BE EXTINCT POKEMON IN THE FIRST SEASON?? Also you can't tell me that there are a lot of ten-year old who fight in multiple major pokemon leagues in contention for the title of regional pokemon champion.

self aware au shenanigans where the player decides to screw around and bring the predecessors of the ingame characters (pulling an Arceus, as one might say) and watch stuff happen. on one side, its funny watching volo sprint in fear as cynthia chases him with a chair after hearing about the shit he pulled but you can't help but feel bad for cyllene who had no idea that cyrus would be like That, with feeling some guilt that she could have done something to prevent him from ending up like that (and not in the 'you bring shame to our bloodline' kind of way, but in a 'i am so sorry that nobody was there for you when you needed them the most' kind of way. if that makes sense)

Cyllene is 100 taking Cyrus under her wing, regardless of what he wants.

She despises one of her descendants was treated so badly he turned out this way. She is bound and determined to help him through whatever hell put him on this path to begin with. He is desperately trying to NOT do that. It's almost amusing to see Cyrus trying to sneak out of the village only for her to follow him and drag him back like a teenager. The kids love him and want to be his friends as well, and all he wants to do is leave or brood angrily. Cynthia lets Volo know no peace. She already had to stop one asshole from destroying the universe, and it turns out her ancestor pulled the same shit? She is livid. Volo doesn't think much of her until you mention she is in fact a champion, considered one of the strongest people in future Hisui, and has given many people pokebattle ptsd. And then he sees how near identical their team is, and a smirk she very much inherited from him, and suddenly he isn't so cocky anymore.

Hello! Recently I came across your blog, do you have any suggestions of Pokemons for someone who isn't a trainer? I am not big on pokebattles and I normally prefer pokemon that can be companions.

well honestly any pokemon can be a companion if you love it! if your favorite pokemon is salamence, HAVE a pet salamence. good on you.

now. ahem. for actual advice

small normal and grass types are among the easiest pokemon to take care of - bellsprout, mincinno, delcatty, bounsweet, smoliv, helioptile, mon like that. eevee is always a popular choice but if you want an eevee as a pet and not a battler i always recommend adopting from a shelter instead of buying! there are so many normal type rescues and shelters out there where you can find amazing pokemon that were given up because they don't have the stats to be good battlers.

(buying pokemon from breeders should only be done for competitive teams and a lot of trainers and even gym leaders and elite four members are against buying pokemon entirely and say you should always catch or breed your own but that's drama i don't want to get into rn)

water types need varying levels of water to survive and thrive, from full tanks to just. a hose. but they're fairly easy to care for once you have that set up for them too. (tympole, lotad, surskit, clauncher)

bug types are similar in that you need to make sure they have proper terrariums/tanks set up for them but after that are very low maintenance (joltik, yanma, charjabug, dwebble, ledyba). bug types tend to evolve fairly easily but evolved bug types really aren't much of a hassle either!

flying types can be a bit more of a hassle since they need lots of space and a good enclosure, as well as trained recall, but they're a popular choice since they're easy to find at shelters or to catch yourself and often tend to be very healthy and long-lived pokemon.

a lot of people find it harder to bond with bug or water types and are usually looking for more cuddly pokemon but honestly bug types are some of the most interesting and easy to care for pokemon out there imo!

as for types i wouldn't recommend as companions or pets due to their general temperment, care needs, or danger level: fire, dragon, ghost, fighting, and poison

I've tried to ask this before but I either missed it or it got eaten by your inbox (which is a thing that happens to me a lot), so here goes again!

What should I do now that I've found out that my Mimikyu has been acting out and killing wild Pokemon to get more attention? This is a very grim situation but let me explain: Kyu, my Mimikyu, has always been abnormally violent (most Ghost types are shy sweethearts, if a bit mischievous, unless scared or threatened), but I thought I had seriously trained him into being calmer (this was especially important to do because hes part of my pokebattle team).

A few days after diverted most of my attention to training a new Pokemon and getting it registered + chipped, he started acting out. And yesterday, I found the body of a dead Rattata in my room, which was very obvious killed by Kyu.

So...what do I do?

This is.....tough.

The trigger for this behavior is almost certainly because he wasn't getting attention. This is certainly strange behavior for a Mimikyu- they're rarely attention seekers, but you did mention he was abnormally violent in the past.

But in all honesty, this is out of my league. Feline or even canine Pokemon going for Rattata is normal, but even then a lot of the time they've just knocked it out, not killed it...

I'd find a Ghost type specialist, or maybe a Fairy one. A Pokemon killing for survival is one thing, but I've never handled anything like this. Just be careful, and don't leave Kyu alone with the new Pokemon. I've never dealt with a captured Pokemon killing. I'm sorry I can't help more.

How is Gary in the Genderfluid AU? I do not think people do enough with Gary and Ash's friendship, lol.

Mmm in the beginning, i imagine Gary trying to explore a little more.

Less because of Ash and more because he finally gets the outside taste of everything.

I imagine he's one of the first few that find out, and instead of calling Ash out on his newfound cinfidence, sort of backs away for awhile.

Now, Gary is Bicurious and Cis, nothing is changing that, and because of his age, he doesnt really explore that first option for awhile.

I imagine end of Kanto after they duke it out and are in the locker rooms does Gary finally hug Ash. Tightly, just like he did back when they were kids and still close friends.

Theyre friendship in Johto is still a bit touch and go, mostly with both of them trying to go back into normalcy between them.

Though Gary acts like a big brother and constantly teases Ash. He's also seen showing Ash some cool outfits he found cause Ash's attire is 'atrocious' in his eyes.

And even though Gary is Cis, he's very comfortable just jumping in a skirt or a dress alongside Ash and making fun of the fact that he looks too manly for anything.

By the time they reach Hoenn Gary and Ash are back to being best friends and Gary will swing by to cheer on Ash during Contests or Pokebattles if he's in the area.

He's also not afraid of pranking his friend, and though he may mix up pronouns every once in awhile, he's quick to correct himself without making a big scene out of it
