grace culture is being tired of constantly having to hide lgbt stuff (especially this tumblr) from your parents bc theu will lecture you abt how I should hide this stuff

their only reasoning is bc you dont see straight ppl do it

UGH I wish they would actually listen to why! I told my dad and he dismissed it and my mom, i dont remember. I love them sm and im sick of this strain. im done with constantly having to hide in fear of them

like they literally cried when i tried getting a chest binder after they said no (this was literally the most dysphoric point of my life ever and I told them tht and they were just like "well u need to love urself more").

I love being a teen but I srsly cant wait till I get out so I can actually do these things and live how I want to. I have good morals and a good heart so ill be fine.

Mom thinks I'm getting too lost in society, yet thtis same society wants me dead and in hell. Like what???? I told her abt the antimtrans kaws being all over the us and stuff and she said "well what does tht have to do with you?"

IM TRANS, SOME MY FRIENDS ARE TRANS.

Not only tht but human rights should NEVER be repealed! And then she went on and on abt how she helped this person and how she sees herself in me.

Since this is how you are treating an extremely marginalized community, I dont want you in me. I love you and dad so much but I just cant do this anymore. I'm tired of lying and hsving to sit through your speeches abt how I should keep lgbt stuff private bc they would like me to do tht and society may hate it in the future (it already does). I'm tired of lying abt how I agree with you when I completely dont. I'm tired of you saying tht "well God loves everyone" when you really arent acting like tht, actually live your life and truly show His love to everyone you meet.

My dad is the same way execept he's not Christisn (he's Muslim but he doesnt go to mosque) and he looks down on gay/trans ppl bc so much of us have bad mental health. hmm I wonder why?? Its the same thing with Black ppl and other POCs so what are you talking abt?? We're Black so we should know how the other feels! And you're a doctor so you should stop this prejudiced nonsense, please.

I want to actually be able to talk to my parents abt anything and everything and be able to be me. I wish tht I didnt just have God and my friends, but my parents too! I wish tht they actually supported me with this stuff bc all theyre doing is hurting me! They say they love me but when I asked my mom to please use she/they (this was when i was thinking tht i was a demigirl and used she/they), she said "uhh no" and ignored it. only my friends helped. When I told my mom tht I wanted a chest binder, she said "what if its too dangerous and hurts your boobs?". I did research and proved her wrong but she still said no!

srry for the long vent but im just so tired of this. Last night, my mom looked at an image I sent to my brother and friends

You and dad think im doing this for attention but my entire life, I didnt care abt tht. Even when I was a toddler, I didnt care and made sure you knew! Dont you know me better? You pride me in being your first and being your daughter and you love me alot but if you truly love me, please stop doing this. I wanted to off myself and I was depressed bc of this. You're lucky tht I have a strong relationship with God bc He was the reason I didnt. He gave me wonderful friends and He comforted me through His word.

At the same time, Im afraid to even tell mom and dad this bc I know they'll be absolutely heartbroken and will cry a LOT bc of this. I dont wanna see them cry again bc when I did, I felt like it was all my fault and yeah. I have no clue what to do other than keep this a secret from them until the day I die. And after tht I dont want them to go to hell bc queerphobia goes against all God stands for.

poc mogai culture is sometimes being off put by how white the mogai community is. not just the fact that i don’t see many of us there, but also the fact that a lot of mogai terms though supposedly are meant to fight against gender norms they still conform to white western version of what is and isnt a gender. and then sometimes when white people make terms related to asian culture they make it into some sorts of cutesy aesthetics

literally it's infuriating, we've seen people try making posts for POC MOGAI individuals and they get boosted by tons of white people who are trying to get to their POC followers and get no responses from actual POC people-

Hello everyone and welcome to something we've wanted to do since joining the coining community. This is an event dedicated to give the spotlight to all the poc out there who coin or make edits. So often we're overshadowed and barely gain a following or reach, especially when it comes to culture themed things. This is something we'd love to do again so we hope it doesn't flop.

1. Anyone who is a poc can join, this includes mixed poc because we're often even more overshadowed or treated like an uncomfortable middle ground of not poc enough and not white enough. No need to ask "what if I'm" if you're a poc! It's a yes. But absolutely NO transid race shit. Do not touch my blog or any other blogs with that.

2. White people and poc who don't want to participate can still spread this. It's heavily encouraged actually! Please help share both this event and any blog ran by poc you see. Traction is how we build a platform.

3. If you're mixed and want to make multiple flags to include each culture you're apart of you can. Mixed specific flags are absolutely welcome as well.

4. While we want to share as many poc owned blogs we can find. We won't reblog or interact if you're pro endo, anti good faith, proship/radqueer, or if your blog is super inaccessible to us.

When does this event start? March 1st. Since timezones are a thing it's whenever March 1st is for you, so those a day ahead of us are still free to start. You can choose one prompt for the day, both separately, or combine the two. It's up to you.

Flags/coinings:

Day 1 - Your culture + Dolls or Horror.

Day 2 - Your culture + Angels or Demons.

Day 3 - Your culture + an Orientation or Gendersystem.

Day 4 - An animalgender that's important to your culture.

Day 5 - A cultural emoji gender.

Day 6 - A gender based on cultural food you find comfort in or grew up with.

Day 7 - A cultural exclusive term you can use. An example being something like two-spirit or a term in your native language (example being समलैंगिक)

Day 8 - Presentation labels, examples being bear, twink, butch and others along those lines.

Edits/layouts:

Day 1 - A human character who is from the same culture as you.

Day 2 - A non human character who is from the same culture as you.

Day 3 - A poc character you feel is underappreciated or underused.

Day 4 - A non human character (for example something like an fnaf robot) you headcanon as a poc.

Day 5 - Cultural mogai flag icons of a character you like or find comfort in. (basically those character icons with flags but using specificly poc/culture related ones).

Day 6 - Bonus day. We don't make edits so ideas are really hard to think of.. do whatever you want for this day! It could be to show off your skills or simply something silly.

A term that is exclusive to POC’s/people of colour who have a preference in attraction to other POC’s or are exclusively attracted to other POC’s.

I have not been able to find any POC4POC/Person of colour4Person of Colour flags anywhere even tho I’m sure it has to have existed already at some point. This is my take on a POC4POC flag. I tried to use a range of skin tones, obviously I can’t include every single skin tone that exists on this flag as that would probably be thousands of stripes but hopefully this range is okay.

Since every social media platform seems to be lighting dumpster fires one after another and tumblr may be following suit considering recent issues, I've made a discord server in case tumblr starts to die a little too hard. Idk if anyone will be interested but I liked the idea so I did it. I'm calling it Serene Hollow and the intent is for it to be a safe space/hangout for anyone who wants it. Definitely very queer friendly and I intend to do everything in my power to make that true for all people who struggle with marginalization. If anything can be done to better accommodate people please tell me so I can do it.

I’ve never run a server for anything beyond family and friends so I’m still getting used to this whole thing but I think it will be fun. I've added channels and roles that I would use or that I would expect to be used frequently, but for the most part that's up to you. I have a text channel set up to request additional roles and channels to be added. I’ll add pretty much anything, I just don’t want people making duplicate channels or messing with existing stuff so I’m keeping the permissions to create them off.

I hope this isn’t a dumb idea and that I haven’t majorly fucked anything up. Anyway here’s the link if you’re interested.

Qween Jean, a Black and Trans community leader was arrested at a PEACEFUL march for Trans Liberation on May 31st, 2023. AS SOON AS THEY GOT THERE there was lots of police and they arrested Qween Jean. I'm not sure if she's out yet as I can't find info on tht. On instagram it says to bail support at 7th precinct 191/2 Pitt St, New York, NY, 10002

This can't keep happening, there needs to be nationwide peaceful protests abt this!! Demonstrations need to be everywhere!!!! IT HAS BEEN 53 YEARS SINCE THE FIRST PRIDE PROTEST! I say protest bc PRIDE STARTED AS A PROTEST! It can ONLY be a parade when we truly get our rights. We can't celebrate until we see our victory. Like, our victory is in the bag bc good ALWAYS wins but we need to take ACTION!

ALSO, ANOTHER THING! NOTE HOW WHEN THE NYPD GOT KICKED OUTTA PRIDE, THEY STARTED ARRESTING AND STUFF! If they actually cared they would let this go on. They would actually do smth and hold their own protests for police brutality and etc to stop. Ik there are good police out there who are actually helping out the communities but lets be honest, the system is screwed up. There is far too much corruption. You KNOW it's bad when even little kids are scared of the police! No, not bc they may look intimidating. But because they are literally scared for their life. Same thing with guns. I was walking home from the bus stop when I was in like 6th or 7th (i forgot) and I thought I saw a gun in someone's car tht was parked in front of me and I was scared to the bone. Thankfully it wasn't a gun, it was smth else.

The fact tht it's simple says everything. If we had more of tht, all these issues would cease to exist.

Also, another thing:

PROTEST SAFETY RULES!!

Take water and stay hydrated! If someone doesn't have water and u have some to spare, waterfall it.

Keep face masks and switch your phone to airplane mode. This is a surveillance country. They know how to find you. And if u take pics, make sure tht ur location is extremely hard to pinpoint.

If a police officer arrests u, know ur miranda rights and STAY SILENT AND BE CALM! They will use what they can to take it against u. You have to think a stairway ahead of them. They can't say anything if u don't say anything! And justice will be served so dw, God's with you. Also, yes u can say ur manners like thank you and excuse me.

Again, please repost this everywhere u can.

Remember,God loves u ALL, no ifs ands or buts. ACAB and love is love. Trans rights are HUMAN RIGHTS!!!!!

I've been having a pretty bad dysphoria week, but that reminded me of something that pisses me off...

So I'm going to take this chance to distract myself and do a little PSA.

I'm not trans because of dysphoria

And I'm not transitioning because of dysphoria!

I'm not transitioning because I'm uncomfortable with my face shape. I'm transitioning because I've been dreaming about facial hair since I was eight!

I'm not transitioning because I hate my voice! I love my voice! it's adorable!! but it doesn't match the one in my head; My Deep, Gravelly, Masculine voice.

I'm not transitioning because some days my chest dysphoria is so bad I have to hold my breath, for the possibility to just tame it a little bit. I'm transitioning because the idea of having a flat chest with scars following my pec line makes me feel sexy~

I'm not transitioning because not having a phallic like object in my pants, makes me act like a dick! Not because my period makes me want to end it all! I'm transitioning because it feels like I should have something dangling between my legs!

I'm not a man because of dysphoria, I'm a man because I am.

It doesn't matter my biology, how I transition, the clothes I wear, the pronouns I use: I'm a man because I say I am.

You can apply this to any gender, because it's an emotion!

My doctor would've gettin into a shit ton of trouble if I told them I was depressed and they responded "No you're not, I know what depressed looks and you're not it"

The same thing should go for any gender modality! Because if you fully transition and then realize it wasn't for you, then you had to go through the whole thing to find that out!

There is no shame in that because emotions are fucking complicated! if it wasn't, anyone could be a psychologist!!

You're FUCKING TRANS ENOUGH and DON'T LET THAT LITTLE BASTARD inside your head or anyone else TELL YOU OTHERWISE!

You are worthy of love! and you deserve a body you feel at home in!!

MOGAI isn’t white.

Being a POC in this community is so difficult. Because almost everyone here is white.

White people are the center of every conversation. Even if it’s about POC lgbt issues…

White people in the MOGAI community show their privilege every day. They have the ability to argue about validity and flags while I have to watch my fellow black transfems be murdered.

It’s unfair, and aggravating, and annoying. It’s the reason I hate all discourse. No matter if you are a rad exclus or rad inclus. The ability to care about online discourse enough to talk about how bad another online group is, is a privilege.

The fact that some people believe truscum and transmeds, or tucutes and inclus are one of the biggest things setting the lgbt community back or harming young trans kids is A HUGE FUCKING PRIVILEGE.

The biggest thing setting our community back and harming young trans kids is the fact that:

• genital inspections on kids as young as 10 or 11 are being allowed just to make sure trans kids don’t play sports.

• 14 trans + nonbinary have been murdered in 2022, the majority of them being POC transfems.

• in 2022, the USA has seen a record setting amount of anti-trans bills passed.

Just to name a few.

I love the mogai community. And I’m not saying that you can’t label yourself as an inclus or whatever because I label myself a rad inclus as well. But the fact that so many people think trumeds or tucutes are the biggest issue for us is so fucking privileged. Life, especially for POC people in this community, is fucking DANGEROUS. And seeing so many white trans people sit around and argue about how a certain group is the scum of the earth is disheartening.

POC trans people are fighting for their rights to live without being murdered. And white trans people are fighting for their ten page blocklists and callout posts.
