okay actually on the note of winners being watcher/watcher-detested (grian - watcher, scott - watchers hate him, pearl - fanon watcher, martyn - listener) i think either bigb or joel should win this season. for bigb, obviously he was part of nosy neighbors with pearl, and he was an evo member that wasn't stated to be disliked by the watchers, and also he so deserves a win <3 and then with joel he's not a watcher strictly speaking but he is, at the very least, liked by them because of how much bloodshed he provides. he just perpetuates the cycle and fuels the fire without even knowing about the watchers.
of course, other contenders could be argued (based on how much they satisfy the watchers' bloodthirst): jimmy, who is obviously HILARIOUS to them with his miserable, court jester-like experiences, could finally break his canary curse; scar, who was quite the loose cannon in the previous season, could finally avoid meeting another tragic end (which. his povs of other seasons are unrecognized in that aspect); geminislay, who can please step on me; and more!
so, as we are all trembling with excitement for friday, it's time for the big question:
no 'rb for sample size' just click a button on the poll, i want to see ur opinions :)

Project Wingman Alpha Test 5
ITS HERE!
Current latest version : v0.3.3
Hello everyone!
It has been quite a while since I've released a Project Wingman demo. After 7 months it's finally here! This will be the second last demo before the Kickstarter Campaign of the game so please look forward to that!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is not quite the “BIG” demo I’ve been hyping up for a while (boo). However, this release will have a few new toys for you to play with and an additional level that showcases different aspects within Project Wingman. At heart this demo is mainly a huge polish pass of the game and a lot of bugfixes, which is why it has taken this long to release.
That being said, it's the same drill as before. I'm looking for feedback on all aspects. One of the main things introduced in this update is difficulty options. Please let me know what you think of them!
Kickstarter along with the final demo with an additional mission and a sample of Conquest mode coming Early 2018.
Any feedback can either go to :

Noted! I am constantly tweaking the flight model, and I know it’s in a really weird spot right now. I will eventually change it so that it behaves in a more realistic manner.

Aircraft delivery or weapon delivery? But the latter has been answered by this post :) Hope you enjoy it!

There are some elements to that in the story but not as tethered to the current world.

Thank you! More aircraft will eventually be included. I can’t really promise what they will be at this very moment but please look forward to them.

Is the good version of Mitchell Trubisky for real or a fluke?
Tumblr media
Mitchell Trubisky has had a couple of solid performances for the Bears after a mostly rough 2019.
This week, Geoff Schwartz discusses whether you can trust Trubisky’s recent performances, where he’d like to see Ron Rivera coach, and which teams he’d want to run his favorite plays.
Welcome to the Friday mailbag, Week 14 edition. It’s been a busy past few days. Ron Rivera was fired in Carolina, while things aren’t looking good for Jason Garrett after the Cowboys lost again on Thursday night, this time on the road to the Bears.
We got some awesome questions as usual, so thanks for that. Please don’t hesitate to hit me up on Twitter or Instagram if you have questions for next time.
This week, we’ll start with some recent developments in the NFL and then end with possibly my favorite question I’ve gotten so far.
Has Mitchell Trubisky really turned a corner, or are his latest performances a fluke? —@cater123
No, no he hasn’t. I know we love to get excited about recent performances because we are a reactionary culture, but that’s not me. I tell y’all how it is, even if it’s not happy news. And while Trubisky has played better of late, he hasn’t even played up to his levels from last season.
Here’s a good tweet showing his EPA from this year to last:
Let's remember that going into 2019 the thought was "Trubisky needs to take a big step forward". He hasn't. Last night was his best game in terms of EPA/play all year. He had four games better than that last year. 2018: 0.17 EPA/Play 2019: 0.00 EPA/Play He's gotten worse. pic.twitter.com/bVbSObiBhj
— Lee Sharpe (@LeeSharpeNFL) December 6, 2019
He’s barely been above replacement this season, and using a two-game sample size against the miserable Lions and the half-ass Cowboys is a bad faith argument for his future success.
Some of his better play the last two weeks is on coach Matt Nagy, who’s been dialing up quicker passes where Trubisky doesn’t have to think as much. Also, using his legs more often is a huge plus for Trubisky, who is able to run well.
All of this makes the offense look competent lately but remember, we need to look at the schedule as well. The Bears beat the Lions (definitely not a defensive juggernaut) and a lifeless Cowboys team. Next, they get the Packers, Chiefs, and Vikings to finish out the season. We will know more after those games, but I don’t think it goes well.
If you’re a Bears fan, do you want Trubisky to play well? If he plays well, the Bears are likely to be more excited about picking up his fifth-year option, which would be a mistake. It’s rare for quarterbacks to be below replacement over their first two starting seasons and then turn into an elite player. And guess what? Trubisky was drafted second overall. He SHOULD be elite.
We often don’t take into account where a player was drafted when we evaluate them. Is it Trubisky’s fault these are the expectations? Nope, but that’s what happens when you’re drafted that high. So that’s how Trubisky should be graded. Just being “OK” or average isn’t good enough.
Where would you like to see Ron Rivera coach next? — @bearsforfears
I don’t think Rivera would ever take this gig, but I’d love to see him in Cleveland. The Browns are super talented, but they need an adult leading them, not a coach who’s wearing t- shirts mocking his division rivals.
Rivera, as he stated in his farewell press conference, often had to be the public relations arm for the Panthers during some of the controversies they’ve had. The owner never spoke and the general manager rarely did. And the team stayed together, played hard, and won games. Rivera knows how to manage a wide range of personalities, and he connects with this players because he’s a former one. He’d bring some much-needed discipline to the Browns.
It’s fourth-and-3 at midfield with $1 million on the line? What’s your play and 2019 team to run it? — @JDB_219
Oh my, what a question. I love it. Thank you. And there’s so much to discuss here, and I’m going to expand on this a bit to discuss my favorite plays in general.
I think the easy answer right now would be some RPO-type play with Lamar Jackson on the edge. No one can tackle him. And if they try, you’d hope he can hit the “pass” option for a first down. I love plays with multiple options.
But to expand on this question, three plays come to mind that I’d use in this situation, assuming you have the personnel to make it happen. The first play I’d use is mesh or mesh sit. It’s an excellent play against man coverage, as the slot receivers crossing near each other could knock off potential man defenders. Or, if it’s zone, they just sit in the hole. I love the addition of the running back against man coverage.
The second is “Hoss Y Juke,” a favorite play of the New England Patriots. It’s an awesome concept and has answers for everything. Plus, it spreads out the defense and you can see the entire picture before the snap.
What makes this play so versatile is you don’t need to have the tight end in the slot to make it happen. You can stay in base personnel, flex the tight end out wide, put your best WR in the slot, and get a great mismatch. Look at how the Patriots used this in last year’s Super Bowl:
youtube
The Pats threw to Julian Edelman on the first play, followed by a hitch to the RB against man coverage on the second. On the third, they hit the seam against single high. Amazing.
The third one I’d pick is for the 49ers to run the Y throwback play. You’d need some big stones to call this for $1 million and would need to make sure there’s no pressure by the defense on this play or the QB won’t have the time. But it’s almost always open and always catch for a long gain.

12 May 2020: Back to normal? Or a new normal?
Hello, this is the Co-op Digital newsletter - it looks at what's happening in the internet/digital world and how it's relevant to the Co-op, to retail businesses, and most importantly to people, communities and society. Thank you for reading - send ideas and feedback to @rod on Twitter. Please tell a friend about it!

Back to normal? Or a new normal?
HelloFresh reports fast rise in first quarter turnover as customers flock to subscribe to meal kits. Online grocer Ocado is now worth more than Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Marks & Spencer combined after lockdown boost. Online grocery shopping has obviously had a big jump up, but will it fall back to previous levels as shopper fears about the virus recede?
Behind these news stories is a question. Is this the “new normal”, or will we “go back to normal” after the virus? It is tempting to see these changes as temporary. Toilet roll shortages, hunting for online delivery slots, working from home, schooling at home - all temporary. Carnival Cruises bookings for August are going well. Back to normal.
On the other hand, there may not be an “After” the virus at all, if you think of After in terms of getting back to Exactly The Way Things Were Before. This is for a few reasons.
First, having moved some activities online, we might decide that they work well enough. Some companies are going to stay remote, because offices and commuting are expensive. Some shopping is going to stay online. As you’d expect, 9 in 10 UK shoppers say they’ve reduced or stopped visits to shops. But over 40% say they’ll continue shopping as they do now. And 20% say they’ll do more grocery shopping online.
Second, going to a supermarket and many other activities are going to remain socially distanced for a long time. Lockdown infrastructure and bureaucratic process will be with us for years (in the same way that you still see 9/11 infrastructure - shoes, the toiletries bags - if you go to an airport today). It’s interesting to think how that changes the experience of shopping, and eventually its design. Today shopping aisles are taped up or stickered to show distance markers, next year the markings might be painted, and after that the shop itself might be designed differently.
Do unusual store formats help with social distancing? Separating display from inventory and transaction from handover might make it easy to adapt (like IKEA, Argos or Screwfix). McDonalds already has loads of ordering kiosks and drive throughs. Banks and post offices already maintain distance between staff and public in branches.
Third, the virus is an amplifier that massively accelerates the economic trends that were already happening: shopping was already going online, or at least to parts of town with better and cheaper parking. Fighting that to try get back to Before is too hard: you can’t turn back technology change and shopper behaviour. (This is also why efforts to save the high street have always been doomed if they were just about conserving the idea of the high street of 2010, or 1990. The high street is changing, was already changing. *Preserving* the high street doesn’t work, but *remaking* it can.) You have to do something different.
So you wonder if the bit after the lockdown will eventually be an endless Now, a time of increased change, uncertainty, provisional adaptation. What does it mean for large organisations? More change, faster transformation, a greater need to experiment. How to get closer to the customer while staying further apart?
Online shopping and Tesco’s doomsday exercise
“At the time people said it was a bit ridiculous and extreme” - How Tesco's 'doomsday exercise' helped it cope with the coronavirus.
Tesco is doing 1.2m online grocery delivery slots weekly now. Comparisons: Waitrose is at 120,000 orders a week, and Morrisons has trebled online slots and 1% of sales now come from Amazon.
NHS contact tracing app
NHSX published some good information about the contract tracing app, how it works, its approach to privacy, and so on. The security behind the NHS contact tracing app is a good read. The app has its own website now, and the source code has been released (which itself must have been a significant political achievement). There are still critics, and the app may be refined or even adopt the decentralised model promoted by Apple and Google.
Logistics partnerships for good
EDF Energy partners with Boots to deliver essential medicine to most vulnerable: employee volunteers will deliver critical medicines.
And British Gas engineers are helping the Trussell Trust deliver food bank packages.
Animal Crossing
When popular games have scarce goods, there are often ways to “monetise” the hard graft of collecting items and progressing through the game: “I got laid off due to COVID so I'm farming bells in [Animal Crossing]”. Some players are speeding up their clocks to accelerate their collection of bells, but this adds a lot of risk to their deals on the Turnip market, so the newsletter cannot recommend doing that.
World’s first Animal Crossing interior design service launches, offering consultants £40 an hour to perfect in-game homes. Expect to see rival interior design services launch soon (tbh from this household).
Other news
“Bo hasn’t failed”, but Royal Bank of Scotland is closing its new digital challenger bank. It’ll be merged with RBS’s app-only small biz bank Mettle.
Privacy-first search engine DuckDuckGo now does about 63m searches daily, which is about 1% of Google’s traffic.
Did you know that Amazon has a video chat product like Zoom, Hangouts and all the others? It’s called Chime. The pricing seems aligned with the AWS philosophy: pay as you go, increasing complexity once you start looking deeper. It mostly works, and had no adverts for office equipment delivered the next day (sample size - one call).
Co-op Digital news
“Trying to read in motion or after a long tiring day – accessibility is surprisingly relevant to everyone and it is about time we engrain it in our DNA.” - How we’re making accessibility more relatable.
Why an up-to-date service map is essential when teams change direction.
