Hi! I recently moved to Fallarbor Town from Mistralton City and I have a Servine who’s a very kindred spirit! She’s a sweetheart and is very patient and collected, generally. Her name is Audrey. 

My sister is also intending to make the move to Hoenn and although she wants to stay with me until her housing situation is figured out, I’m a little hesitant about having her move in with me, even if the arrangement is temporary (she’ll only be with me for around a month.) It’s not that Audrey doesn’t like her or anything (though I know big changes like that can be stressful), it’s just that my sister owns a Zangoose. Don’t get me wrong, her Zangoose is very.. I don’t know if personable is the right word, but she’s always been great with other Pokémon, but I’m really worried that her Zangoose may try to harm Audrey. (I know it’s Zangoose and Seviper that are the natural enemies, but Servine’s snakelike parallels to Seviper make me paranoid that my sister’s Zangoose may start to act on its primal behaviors.)

My sister knows of my concerns but she insists that since Audrey isn’t a Seviper, I shouldn’t be so worked up, and the two of us consulted two vets in our area who had both told me that as long as the introductory process is unproblematic, the two of them will coexist just fine. They have met before at family events, but even while I supervised, my sister’s Zangoose seemed very unfriendly to my Servine and was displaying a lot of concerning behaviors (her ears were pinned back and her fur bristled if she even so much as smelled Servine on me.) 

Am I just being irrational? I always try to point out the behavior to my sister whenever I notice it, but she brushes me off and just says Zangoose can get moody— but, then, if that’s the case, I still don’t want her near my Servine without supervision. I have tried introducing them more gradually, but if Zangoose even sees Audrey (even if they’re separated by a window or door), Zangoose displays aggressive behavior, and I think it makes Audrey anxious. 

Should I just… keep Audrey in her Pokéball if my sister’s Zangoose is out in my house? That just doesn’t feel very fair to Audrey.. 

I’m really considering just having my sister not move in and wait until her housing in Hoenn is settled, but whenever I suggest it she flies off the handle at me. 

i think you're being a great advocate for your servine!

although zangoose's natural aggression is focused on servine, studies have shown that they tend to have some measure of aggression response to other serpentine pokemon (such as ekans). even though servine aren't naturally found in the wild in territories where zangoose live and wouldn't eat a zangoose's offspring, it's not worth the risk. her zangoose has already shown aggressive behavior towards audrey, and that's likely to escalate, especially since servine tend not to be tolerant of other pokemon as well.

you'll have to decide how to handle the situation with your sister yourself, but you're right that having your sister's zangoose around audrey is a bad idea.

(@teamgardeners) Hi! It's me again, that Servine that sent you an ask a while back! I wanted to ask you for some advice.

I'm considering trying to evolve into a Serperior, but I'm unsure. I kinda like having my arms in front of me, and though I don't use them a lot, I still do use my legs sometimes.

I'd ask another member of my species for advice, but, well, I don't know any other members of my species.

What advice would you give?

your limbs are by and large vestigial, remnants of ancestral species that had developed limbs. as i am sure you've noticed, your legs are not very useful as a method of locomotion, and your arms are similarly not used for very much. now, to be clear, the vestigial limbs you have won't just vanish, it's just that as you grow into your adult size, they will not grow with the rest of your body.

as you draw closer to evolution, you will experience a series of rapid growth spurts. at this point, the primary use of your legs- raising yourself up- will be rather unnecessary as you could reach up to 11 feet (3.35 meters), and you will be able to lift as much as a third of your body off the ground.

any tasks that you do use your arms for will likely be just as easy to accomplish with the use of your tail or vines. if you are interested in allowing yourself to evolve, i would say not to let the matter of your limbs hold you back.

We all have at least one friend who think Pokémon are dirty. Here are three options of Pokémon who will make amazing pets to them.

1. Swablu/Altaria. These Pokémon usually smell like morning rain and they do not shed much. They even enjoy using their wings to dust their homes.

2. Snivy/Servine/Serperior. They groom themselves multiple times a day to keep their photosnthesizing tails going. As most plant types, they also enjoy clean water and proper humidity, so they avoid anywhere that's dirty.
