If you are a cat owner, live in/near North Carolina, and are willing to make a drive, this sweet boy wants to be your new best friend! He's very affectionate, takes a pet no problem:

He is fixed, around 5 years old (best guess), and extremely friendly towards people and other cats. Our cats love him but we are tragically at cat-pacity for our lease. Definitely a former inside kitty who would be very happy in a home with another cat. I cannot vouch for his behavior around dogs but I think he would be alright with older kids who are familiar with cats. Tolerates being picked up, good "soft paw" play etiquette, and is coming around to being a lap cat.

Interested? PLEASE message/shoot me an ask for more information! I really want to give this little guy the home he deserves and get another kitty off the streets. Non-NC residents PLEASE signal boost and let your friends know! Let's get this guy adopted!

2/14/2024 UPDATE: Ricky is AVAILABLE to a loving home!!! He's almost certainly not a hapless old man polymorphed into a cat!! We're almost at a thousand notes! Hey everybody, meet Domino!

She’s a two-time teen mom down on her luck, but she’s left her bad home situation behind, gotten vaxxed, spayed and treated for fleas, and now she is ours!

The first time I saw her, I thought from her size she was probably six months old, but that’s what happens when dumbass humans let their four month old kittens get pregnant, and then don’t fix her afterward so their eight month old kitten gets pregnant again! Poor Domino’s body has spent most of her life growing other kittens instead of herself. She’s skinny as a rail and about 2/3 the size of Callisto in all dimensions, but she is sweet and brave and we all fell in love with her instantly. (Except Callisto, who is getting a supervised introduction, but we are pretty confident that these two yearling girlies will become friends and playmates.)

As for Callisto, she is very unsure about this new development, but she does like the “getting wrapped in a blanket” portion of scent introductions.

Baby Dove Looking For A Home!

Hello all! Some of you may know that I have a mated pair of domestic ringneck doves! One is Puddleglum, this big, doofy, cackling, gray nerd.

And the other is Truancy, the prettiest peach lady and unrepentant seed glutton (also the daughter of @hellenhighwater ’s doves Arson and Larceny).

What you may not know is these two lay eggs like clockwork. Since I don’t know a lot of people looking for doves, I normally replace these with fakes or make the eggs nonviable before giving them back, and they’ll sit on them for two weeks before taking a week to make new ones. But this time, I MESSED UP—turns out I did not make them nonviable properly, and by the time I double-checked, I couldn’t just destroy them since they had gotten started.

SO, I am looking for a home for a baby dove or two! Here are the goobers at about a week old as of today (July 15):

One is way smaller than the other, so I waited to post about them until I was sure it was getting enough feed and care from the parents. But it seems to be doing really well now! They should both be old enough for new homes in about a month.

I already have one person interested, so I really just need one more. They are free to a good home (I’d like to see pics of your potential cage setup, and I can offer tips to new dove owners). I can’t gaurantee gender unless we do a DNA test, but I can get that done for $20 (for one bird) if you’re willing to reimburse me for that. I also offer a sandwich baggie of safflower seeds, the doves’ favorite snack.

I’m in southwest Ohio and am willing to drive a bit to meet you if needed. My family also has an alpaca farm that is hosting our August Alpaca Day on Aug. 19, if you want to make a trip of it! :D

My car is beautiful. I've been trying to find a suitable rehoming situation for him because he doesn't get along with the rest of the cats and is showing signs of stress

I live in Walsall, West Midlands UK and can travel locally but I don't drive. I'm also chronically I'll.

He's 9 this year and very cuddly. He is a larger man but doesn't eat too much. I would prefer he be an only cat but he will live happily with one other cat.

He's not the only cat available for rehoming, there's also a Bengal cat of 7 years. She suffers chronic vomiting and despite vet visits nothing has stopped it.

i'm a little late as Easter is only in two days but this post is to remind people:

DON'T GET RABBITS FOR EASTER!!!

there is a real issue with getting rabbits as a "gift" for the holiday. it's mostly a problem when it is a short-term decision that has not been fully considered, often where new owners have not done enough research as their new pets have been bought practically on impulse. rabbits don't get the correct care they need - whether that be living space, enrichment, food, you name it.

another main issue is when rabbits are bought/adopted for easter but are returned to shops/shelters because children or adults "get bored of" or "don't have the time for" their new pet. what happens is tens or even hundreds of rabbits crowded into adoption/shelters every year. just like dogs at christmas.

IF you are thinking of getting a rabbit, PLEASE take things into consideration. do you actually want a rabbit? do you have the time for it? do you have the space? the funds? do you know how to take care of a rabbit? are you willing to do so? are you happy that they are a daily responsibility?

because, at the end of the day, getting a pet means you are responsible for its life. if there's anything above that you are unsure on, please consider. rabbits, just like any other pet, are not just to be neglected or thrown away. i am sorry to be so harsh, but you should only get a pet if you accept that you must put it first. it is your responsibility. if you cannot care for it properly, please do not get it. it is for the rabbits' sake. i am not saying this against you. the rabbits' lives matter, they are not toys.

IF you want to get a rabbit, have done your research, have considered everything, then i truly do suggest adopting/rescuing from shelters AFTER Easter because of what i stated above. rabbits who have been bought/adopted and dumped need love. please consider where you are getting your rabbits from.

as an additional note, please try not to support buying animals from shops and rather focus your attention on adoption, shelters and rescues. the animals there are most in need of homes <3.

Cat update. Turns out my previous kitten choice was a BOY and so Marvin was a no. This is the kitten we DID wind up adopting and this cat for certain is our Maisy Mow!!! Here she is at 10 weeks! She has doubled in size since 9 weeks.

rehoming a very sweet cat in the inland northwest!

hey everyone, unfortunately i've had to make the difficult decision to rehome my cat king fluffkins. i'd love to get him to a good home where i can keep in some kind of contact and i figured this would be the best way to spread the word. he's a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle once he's settled in, low maintenance (not picky with food or litter), and indoor only. he can and does free feed and i'd be happy to send you with all of his bowls and sifting litter box! we're in the spokane area but i'm willing to split transport costs or something to get him to a good home elsewhere.

I've posted about this guy before, he's just one (1) dude in my area that takes in small animals and takes care of them until he can get them adopted out. he's gone through like $15k of his own money doing this and he's really going through it right now and is about to close down if he can't get help. if you could help out or share, it would be highly appreciated

Happy to say that I can finally post about my new gecko!

Say hi to Groot, my mediterranean house gecko! I haven’t posted about them yet because we weren’t sure if they were going to eat. No Groot does not live in a styrofoam cup this is the only good photo I have. My dad’s coworker found this guy in a shed, it was below freezing outside and far too cold in the shed for the gecko. Groot was caught in a styrofoam cup which was difficult because they were only a few days old. Groot has been eating for two weeks now and is gonna be okay!! I am so happy 🧡🧡🧡
