Happy to say that I can finally post about my new gecko!
Say hi to Groot, my mediterranean house gecko! I haven’t posted about them yet because we weren’t sure if they were going to eat. No Groot does not live in a styrofoam cup this is the only good photo I have. My dad’s coworker found this guy in a shed, it was below freezing outside and far too cold in the shed for the gecko. Groot was caught in a styrofoam cup which was difficult because they were only a few days old. Groot has been eating for two weeks now and is gonna be okay!! I am so happy 🧡🧡🧡
Thanks for reading ^^

oh my gosh. this is the best quality picture I’ve ever gotten of one of these little babies in my kitchen window!! 2nd pic is the full resolution version!
Mediterranean House Gecko!
This little one was so big!! like 5inches I think?? pretty big! most I’ve seen are about around 3 inches, give or take, so it’s cool to see a big one!
I couldn’t fully open the blinds otherwise it would have spooked the gecko into running away, so apologies for the blind blocking part of it!

October 2022: Spawn Of The Gecko
First warbler of the 2022 Fall migration. It’s a little hard to see but there it is:

I mentioned in this post about seeing a Mediterranean House Gecko in one of our compost bins back in July but wasn’t able to get a photo & hadn’t seen it since. Well, I was in the bathroom last night & noticed something on the shower curtain. I caught it in a jar. This isn’t the gecko from July. That gecko was an adult & this one is just a kid. Anyway...
Behold! The spawn of the gecko:

I figure it came in since the night time temps have gotten cooler:

I relocated it to one of our compost bins where it will be warm & have plenty of tasty invertebrates to nibble on:

Brother in law found a Mediterranean House Gecko that apparently didn't get the memo that it's winter and he shouldn't be hanging out in the snow, so I guess I have a Mediterranean House Gecko now
