For those who don’t know me, my name is Anna Padilla and I am an illustrator! I specialize in character design and mimicking cartoon styles. If you cannot afford a commission right now, I would appreciate it if you could reblog this post!

Perks:

I am very OC friendly!!

You will be given a full time-lapse of your piece at no extra cost.

You will have full permission to post the finished product wherever you desire, as long as you follow the agreements.

There are no additional fees when determining your illustration. Meaning you may request anything between a portrait, bust or full body!

There are no additional fees if you would like to use the piece as an icon, wallpaper or background of any kind. Just let me know asap so I can size it correctly for you!

Agreements:

Payment is upfront AFTER I send you the initial sketch.

I will send you an invoice via paypal. Once I receive payment I will begin the process. DO NOT SEND ME MONEY AS A DONATION. Please respect my payment process.

Tips are not necessary but they are appreciated. You will have that opportunity once I send the invoice.

Depending on the work, the piece could take anywhere between 1 week and 3 months.

I reserve the rights to post (sfw) WIPs on my platforms and stream my progress on my twitch channel/private discords.

DO NOT harass me publicly or in our communications while I work on your piece. You may POLITELY INQUIRE about progress at any point, I will get back to you as soon as I can.

If you do not receive the finished work in less than 4 months from the initial agreement, a full refund shall be issued on demand.

The finished work will have a watermark/signature.

DO NOT crop out the watermark/signature.

Once I have completed the image, if they DO NOT have an original character, I still reserve rights to upload the image and use for my portfolio and/or promotional purposes.

If you decide to post the final web image you are responsible to give me visible credit wherever/whenever you post it. (I.E. a visible link back to my instagram, tumblr, twitch or twitter pages)

DO NOT redistribute the image for marketing/sale purposes unless we have reached an agreement.

Image Sourcing

Beast Drive only accepts images that you have made yourself or that you have express permission from the creator to let me host. This is to ensure there is no accidental theft or misattributed credit. If there are any images posted in error, please let me know and I will remove them immediately!

Please also be respectful of non-English speaking artists. Many of them do not want their artwork hosted externally, even when given proper credit. Let's respect their wishes.

Info + Rules

Hi everyone! On this blog, I recreate pride flags by color-picking from Fate/Grand Order characters. Feel free to use them however you want! Credit is appreciated, but not required. Blog inspired by ygoprideflags and operated by spring-ephemeral.

This blog is open to requests, and you can find some guidelines/rules below the cut. Don’t be deterred by the length, I just like being thorough, though TL;DR: Be nice, don’t start discourse and don’t be vague if you want something specific.

Feel free to send in asks if anything is still unclear to you.

Any sorts of bigots or exclusionists will not be tolerated.

1. Any character from FGO with official art can be requested, and I can also put multiple characters on one flag. Asking for multiple flags at once or combination flags is also fine. I will do other characters from the TYPE-MOON franchise if requested, but my main focus will be on FGO.

2. Do not ask for more than three flags per request, and don’t send in another request until all of the ones you asked for last time have been posted. I’m trusting you guys not to misuse anon features for this.

3. No straight/ally flags, no joke/gimmick flags (e.g. rabies, superhell), absolutely no MAP-related flags. Requesting the latter WILL get you blocked. Pride flags related to disability, neurodivergency etc. are allowed.

4. If you want me to use a specific ascension stage for the character, please mention it, otherwise, I’ll just use the one that’s easiest to get the right colors for or that I personally like the most. Also tell me if you want me to use Alter or Summer versions.

5. Asking for some color or positioning adjustments is just fine! But for the former, please remember that I can only do so much with what I have.

6. If there are multiple iterations of a flag (such as the rainbow flag or the aroace flag) or if the flag is relatively obscure, please specify which one you want me to use unless you’re okay with me just taking the first ones that show up on tumblr or Google. For the given examples, if you don’t specify, I will use this rainbow flag and this aroace flag.

7. If you simply say “gay flag”, I will do both the MLM and the rainbow flag, so if you only care for the one, please differentiate in your request.

8. I’ll ONLY use official art (unless you can somehow get permission from the fanartist), and I’ll usually try to go for the Expression Sheets first unless otherwise requested. I might be willing to occasionally make other official art transparent by myself, but I can’t do that for every flag if I want to regularly update. Because of this, some flag/character combinations will just not be possible for color-picking. I can still make you an icon where only some or even none of the colors are picked from the character (usually with some other decorations to make up for it), but I will try to ask you about it beforehand. Art that was created by the official character artists but not implemented in the game still counts as official art and may be requested.

9. Under NO circumstances will I ever make flags for:

Summer Frankenstein (stage 3/4)

Ibuki Douji (Stage 1)

Chloe von Einzbern (any stage)

Jack the Ripper (stage 2-4)

Wu Zetian (stage 2-4)

Mochizuki Chiyome (stage 1)

Kama + Summer Kama (stage 1)

Abigail Williams (stage 2-4)

Summer Abigail Williams (stage 1)

I won’t block you for asking anyway, but I will give you some serious side-eye for some of these.

10. If you try to start debates about my rules (especially #3 or #9) or complain about certain flag/character combinations, there’s a 99% chance I will block you without engaging.

hi hello! you can call us zootz, teal, sacchi, or capri. we're a system as you may have been able to guess TwT. we use rot/plur pronouns. most of the time, individual headmates will be posting and such. ofc we all have different names and sign offs which you'll learn as we post. most of our art is oc stuff or doodles relating to our system. :33 we don't do fandom work often tho may start soon tbh.

TOS

usage of our art!!

1. you CAN trace our work! (work made explicitly for other people cannot be traced.) you CAN absolutely trace my art as a tool for practice if you find aspects of my style you want to emulate. if you are to post the traced artwork, please give proper credit by mentioning us in the post. and preferably don't post the traced work outside of tumblr unless given expressed permission. do NOT trace and work that is explicitly created FOR another person.

2. you may use our work for icons etc as long as it isn't explicitly created for another person. tbh you can use said icons wherever, we kinda don't care. credit is appreciated for this as well.

3. you can absolutely take inspiration from our art styles , stories, and characters as well. as long as that inspiration isn't super heavy to the point of just copying. if I used a concept for one of my characters that you want to use for one of yours, by all means! you cannot own a concept, and it strongly goes against our personal morals as an artist, as trying to do so does little more than stifle creativity.

4. currently, we are not open to commissions nor requests. we LOVE art trades however, but really only accept them on a case by case basis. if you have any interest don't hesitate to reach out, however. :33

5. we usually don't do dnis or whatever but if you're proship, radqueer, a terf, 'gendercrit', against 'contradictory' labels, anti xenogender/neopronoun, pro contact paras, narc abuse truthers, pro israel, alt right, or basically just gross or weird stay the hell away from us and our art. 🫶/srs we don't want our work associated with scum.

((Edited this xx because it's perfectly her vibes, but it was meant more for manga / anime kind of icons, so I removed the psd and edited colors around (it says "edit as you please"- I would never edit some one else's work without permission and giving credit D:). The question is if I should start using it or not? Either way, I already reblogged the source because it's so cute and I love it and the creator deserves more recognition, anyway <3 And if I used it, I'd credit them and link back to their blog and the psd on both my pinned post and on my actual blog as well so people know! I want to be sure they're given as much credit as possible!

But- yeah! I always want something like this and rarely find ones that I absolutely love. This one feels very Cass, though <3 So... Yes or no on using these for replies with icons??))

Payment and refunds:

* Payment is expected within 24 hours after verification of commission sketch

* ALL payments USD

* Payment will be taken through PayPal and Cash-app ONLY

* Non-payment within 24 hours will result in the commission being cancelled. Progress up to this point, if any, will be deleted.

* Refunds are available but vary depending on how much work is done

* Sketch: 90%

* Line: 50%

* Line and Flat Color: 0%

General terms:

* When commissioning me please do so in a kind and professional manner.

* Please provide clear reference images, I do not accept text messages as reference no matter how detailed your texts may be. (Does not apply to some commissions)

* Please follow any and all rules or directions within my TOS policy.

* If I have accepted payment for a commission but find I cannot finish it for some reason i will either ask if you want me to draw another character of yours, or give you full refund.

* I have the right to increase the price if your character has a very detailed design or you want a very detailed illustration.

* My art is constantly evolving and improving which means there will be some small changes from time to time in my work (anatomy, coloring, lineart etc) please keep that in mind!

* By commissioning me, you automatically agree to my Terms of Service and is expected and obligated to follow them. You are also automatically promising that you wont request any paypal chargebacks.

As the Artist, I am allowed to:

* Promote myself with the artwork on any other places or websites.

* Post/display the artwork anywhere i want (on my Commissions page or Discord for example) but i will always give you proper credit as the owner of the character.

* Publish books with it.

As the commissioner, you’re allowed to:

* Re-upload the image with credits given to myself in the form of a link or Name of my Discord or Commission page (MUST be a link)

* Claim the right of your characters depicted in the commission[s] but NOT the art work

As the commissioner, you are NOT allowed to:

* Reproduce/using the artwork commercially (meaning making money of it in any way)

* Remove my watermark/signature.

* Edit/change the artwork without my permission.

Finally: BY ORDERING ANY SUGGESTIVE/18+ ART YOU ARE AGREEING THAT YOU ARE 18 OR OLDER.

Reposting my art = To take an image and repost it as a new or original post on your own account. No-go, please don’t do that unless I’ve given explicit permission for some reason.

Using my art as lockscreens/backgrounds is 100% okay. Sharing it in messages like discord or whatnot is okay, also using my art for icons is perfectly okay!! (jus credit somewhere it can be small)

Hey there! So life is.. hard right now. I just very recently became a single mother of three girls ( My husband and I are getting a divorce) and so now I’m scrambling to find a new place to live while also looking for a job ( I was a stay at home mom ) and needless to say it is difficult with the current state of the world. So I’m doing whatever I can to get money together so I can support my children. So Icon Commissions. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it’s just signal boosting. <3

UPDATE: Soo to make matters worse, my soon to be ex-husband just got fried from his job. So now any money I was making from the little temp job I managed to get and commissions now gets to go to keeping a roof over my girls head instead of saving to find a new place. I am at my whits end and could use any and all help.

So let’s get down too it.

- Base Icons ( I can do anything from anime/manga, comics, to live action. ) - PSD/Edited Icons/Bordered ( I don’t know how to make PSDS so my ability is limited to the PSDS that people have made me to use as I please. If you have a PSD you like (and have permission ) then I can work with that too! - Really simple header images for Answered Asks, Headcanons, OOC Posts, etc.

Payment Methods:

I tend to mostly use paypal because that’s always been the easiest for me to use, but I also have Venmo and Ko-fi if those are things you want.

How to commission:

It’s simple really, If you want something commissioned either come to my IMS or my askbox telling me what you want. I am a relatively chill person, so I’ll only request at the very least like 2 dollars or so up front and the rest can be paid upon completion.

Extra Info:

I can’t always promise I’ll be able to find resources/caps to make icons though I will try my absolute best. If I can’t for whatever reason find anything, I’ll refund you whatever money you have already given me,

You are obviously free to edit the base icons that I make for you however you like and do whatever you please with them.

When it comes to credit, honestly if you just put a little spot in your blog somewhere that is like ‘Hey this blog made my base icons! or made my icons!’ then I’m chill.

Agreements:

Payment is upfront after I send you an initial sketch.

I will send you an invoice via paypal. Once I receive payment I will begin the process. DO NOT SEND ME MONEY AS A DONATION. Please respect my payment process.

You will have a total of three opportunities for revisions at minimum. Additional revisions will have an additional cost of $5 per.

Depending on the work, the piece could take anywhere between 1 week and 3 months.

I reserve the rights to post (sfw) WIPs on my platforms and stream my progress on my twitch page.

If you do not receive the work in less than 4 months from the initial agreement, a full refund shall be issued on demand.

The web piece will have a watermark/signature.

Do not crop out the watermark/signature.

Once I have completed the image, I still reserve rights to upload the image and use for my portfolio.

fuck it, queer meta.

About a year ago I wrote one of my first and largest meta posts about why I consider Cassandra a prime example of queerbaiting despite her being a character who explicitly says she is heterosexual. This lead to quite the day of inbox hate mail from people throughout the fandom. Most were upset I used the “q slur” and left it untagged as such in the big DA meta tags. I can imagine for those folks, the substance of what I had to say mattered little as a result.

I deleted most of those messages and my responses soon afterward. They upset me greatly even as I took it all in stride. However, given that it’s been about 365 days since that fiasco, and some interesting events have happened with regards to current and former DA writers, I thought it would be “fun” to write a recap and reflection on why, generally, I still feel the way I did when I wrote that post. With some changes and growth, of course.

The gist of it is, as we have come to learn in past, recent, and ongoing discourses in fandom, that much to the chagrin of a lot of folks in this fandom: BioWare, and in this instance DA writers, are not your SJW Icons. Furthermore, they never should have been, or should be, considered as such.

The gist (part two) for me, is: for as much as diverse characters, worlds, and societies are being uplifted by Games these days, the counterbalance of bullshit is still there. And I think it survives most sturdily in the kind of logic the BioWare writing culture throughout the years. This sense of egalitarian, “of course” logic, that appears to make socially deviant identities normalized but really just falsely positions those identities as meant to be in lock-step with the norm. Representation to gaming, and most of media writ large, all-too-easily falls into the trap of “we want what the privileged have,” which it to say, we want our existence to be a no-brainer, even if it means we lost the essence of why our stories are so profound, important, and necessary to do justice.

I really can’t imagine accepting the way characters like Cassandra were written because I don’t accept the writer(s) who wrote her. Why?

Hm, I wonder, what with the predominant writer for her character inquires on Twitter for “lesbian fanfic porn” recommendations for writing “research,” but seems to be unable to hire appropriate creatives to write, consult, etc. for the project.

Or that the writers room made, and continues to make, space for a writer who continually does Black and queer characters dirty with his mediocre-at-best work, in both game and novel form (because, plot twist, he’s a shit writer) (1) (2) (3).

Or that the writer’s room, and specifically Ga*der, attesting that the development of the Qunari was based on Arab cultures around the time of “Medieval Europe,” which is somehow his way of getting out of the thematic botching of the Qunari language, social structure, etc. from Islamic tradition.

Or, the writers who intentionally shaped the story so that Vivienne, one of the limited number of Black women characters in the entire series to have a role as an ally, to be a red herring of an distrustful and conceited antagonist, to the point where her treatment by fandom has been incredibly racist, heinous, and lazy for years.

These are a few of MANY reasons, with thorough exposition, why the veneer of “progressive inclusion” studios like BioWare claim to be authentic. Having “diverse” writers in the room -- and I’m using that word incredibly tenuously here -- didn’t change the result of any of these harmful scenarios. In fact, it created them. This, combined with the tale as old as time: toxic fandom culture with white, anglo-centric, cisheterosexual masculinist ideals at the fore, have gotten us here.

So, do I hold all of the reasons why I am angry about Cassandra’s character writing the same way now, as I did then? No. Certainly not. In fact, there are parts where I would correct myself. On the other hand, the thesis for me remains largely preserved: I revile G*ider, I revile that he gets the accolades he does by fandom for his “diversity” of characters when he exploits, erases, and uses slippery morality to get out of admitting he has shortcomings in his work. I hate that the exaltation for representation still funnels itself onto the heads of white writers and predominantly white-staffed studios.

And, underneath it all, I am mad that some of ya’ll see no problem with that. Because what does it matter, if you do not come from communities, cultures, and coalitions that get the brunt of this misrepresentation? What does it matter if it angers a lesbian fan that the writers who have a long history of misusing and conveniently copping themselves out when they write women and queer characters, seem to use that “expertise” as permission to do what they are supposedly combating?

G*ider, the hero himself, is on written record saying that it should not be second guessed as to why Cassandra is straight, just as he thinks it should not be second guessed that Dorian is gay. Yet, when he asked on Twitter if there was some moral significance to people modding character’s sexuality (in this specific instance, Dorian, actually), G*ider said that in the end, people’s mods “do not change” what he wrote, and that unless they claim their changes “supercede” canon, there’s no harm done.

So, really, I’m just over here like -- is this ya’lls hero?

Why in the fuck would someone be modding a gay character to be bisexual or heterosexual, if they didn’t somehow believe that version “supercedes” the canon rendition? Secondly, where is the attention to the fact that, in an ensemble of multiple romanceable characters, Dorian has to be the one that has to be sexually and romantically accessible to those outside of his canonical realm of attraction?

I mean, for fuck’s sake, it’s the whole virtue grounding his companion side quest, the fact that he is estranged from his Father who tried to magically change his orientation! This is a crucial part of Dorian’s entire journey to serving the Inquisition, and serving Tevinter as a dissident.

But, you know, it doesn’t change what G*ider wrote. And he’s correct, it doesn’t change what he wrote, which he got credit, money, and esteem for. It doesn’t change that if you load up the base game, Dorian’s gay. In G*ider’s head, that is the protective force: the parts where he has ties, and not the culture of the fandom, the culture the fans who helped fill his pockets from that game have to dwell within. This isn’t revolutionary, this isn’t good-faith representation. This is getting a piece of the rotten-sweet pie and saying “let bygones be bygones, you toxic, funky heteronormative assholes!”

But, where are my manners. I’m getting heated, aren’t I?

Basically, if you condemn queer fans for calling out queer bating -- or any marginalized fan for throwing up the alarm for bullshit -- and your first reaction is to side with folks like G*ider who got theirs and said screw everything else, fuck off. Literally, fuck off. I call Cassandra’s circumstance queerbaiting because she’s one example of writers getting their cake and eating it, too. If they are so aware of just how much of their fanbase is marginalized folks, they don’t get to say they don’t have fingerprints on things like queerbaiting. You don’t get to be acclaimed and excused for the shit you say you are combating, which is the source of that acclaim. And if your claim is happy ignorance, then you definitely don’t get to blithely equivocate when fans do ask you why the story happened the way it did.

I also just want to keep in mind here that there’s a deductive conclusion to be had about this, given how La*idlaw explicitly stated they endeavored to make Cassandra extremely hot, “really enticing.” That conclusion is:

(1) Either they aren’t/weren’t nearly as attuned to their queer audiences as they generally claim to be, or

(2) They were, and had no intention of developing compassion or empathy passed G*ider talking out of his ass about why Cassandra was developed as straight. Which, ultimately, does coincide with conclusion (1) more than not.

No matter what, the contour to the conclusion is: wow, a taste of nauseating objectification, in the BioWare writer’s room. Who knew!

It’s no wild accusation to make to a writer like him and his colleagues, that they don’t know how to handle sapphic, wlw, and/or queer-related storylines, especially with women. Especially when the answer seems to be, “well, it was decided before I took the lead, and in any case, why question it! You wouldn’t question a gay character’s orientation!”

But that’s just it, you complete and utter turnip. People did question Dorian’s sexuality. People do question Dorian’s sexuality. That fantasy world of equal bearings is as insincere as it is out-of-touch. And why not, when, as you said,

it doesn’t change what you got paid for.

The ethos seems to be crudely reflexive: people’s phobic interpretations and alterations of the canon do not matter, but then again, why would you even question why a character is straight? Why would you question my narrative vision, in all of its beautiful shittery?

It’s all a game of dodge, ya’ll. Dodge, dodge, dodge. With a strong and acidic dose of vanity.

So. In summation, folks: I could care less for your false equivalences. I could care less about my contribution of queer content fucking up your good time in the meta tags. Obviously you aren’t there to actually engage in creative, exploratory thought, so why bother reasoning. There is more to the possibilities of queerbaiting than stringing along a could-be, would-be, should-be queer storyline directly. There’s knowing your audience enough to exploit your good graces with them. There’s benefitting from a charade of liberal progressive clout. There’s the ability to foresee that queer people will cathect to a given character, and not only denying an experience they could have, but denying it so harshly that the character says they can’t love yours because you’re female.

And I am so, so, so sick of these people continually enriching themselves off of the “nobody’s perfect” grace. To me, that grace is the promise of good faith, and the intention to do right by people. When that isn’t there, the grace isn’t going somewhere where it’ll be appreciated, that it will be nourished by. I mean, fucking hell, people, this is rainbow capitalism: don’t you taste it?

That’s that, then. “Cassandra and Queerbaiting Rant,” one year on. An extra dose of salt, just for the haters.
