I’d be lying if I said my favorite friendship/forever OTP wasn’t also Taishiro(u) [ Taichi x Koushiro(u) (Izzy) ] ... though I’ve also already done some photosets with them such as this one However, as a friendship specifically, ( but also as a ship / WLW OTP ) SORA + MIMI have MY HEART as well and ALWAYS HAVE since I first saw (particularly) the 2nd half of Adventure*. (*I originally started on the U.S. dub, but since felt the same after viewing the Japanese version of the whole series in full!) Tri only helped this love of their friendship/love become stronger with the small yet lovely moments for them spread in-between, tbh. (see: Tri Movie 5 bits!) The thing with Sora+Mimi, however, is I also love various headcanons for them. For me, they can work wonderfully and beautifully as lovers or close/platonic friends. ... and as someone who grew up and remains very gender non-conforming ( read as: like Sora especially ) I find this, and their relationship, INCREDIBLE. “ Say, Sora-san. BONUS HEADCANONS:

- TAICHI does NOT date at all while in school, all the way through high school and University. Despite some prying by his acquaintances like the guys on his football/soccer team and other men in his social circles, he refuses to answer on if he’s “ever found a girlfriend yet”, to the point he’ll quite literally brush you off if you ask. { In between, he’s starting to realize maybe he can only date someone if he’s truly close to them. } Sora completely supports Taichi through this time period, even if he isn’t super obvious about it with her, either. Taichi is grateful for the support.

- SORA frequently struggles with the concept of love throughout Sora’s own school years. In between, while Sora realizes about Toshiko (Takenouchi), Sora is able to begin opening up a bit more. Despite this, Sora still struggles a bit sometimes, and isn’t always the best at communicating feelings. Taichi also does his best to support Sora through this time period, even if he doesn’t always know what to say, himself, he tries.

No matter what roads they end up taking in the end, the two continue to support each other all throughout and equally value their strong platonic friendship.
