The Coolest New iPhone 15 Upgrades Coming This Fall: Faster WiFi, Bigger Differences and More!

Latest Leaks Reveal Exciting New Upgrades Coming to the iPhone 15 Series!

The iPhone 14 lineup from last year really shook things up, especially the iPhone 14 Pro with its new "Dynamic Island" design that replaced the annoying notch. This made the iPhone 14 Pro one of the most popular iPhones recently. Now people have started wondering what exciting new features we'll see with the upcoming iPhone 15 models!

Faster WiFi Speeds

According to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 series will support the new WiFi 6E standard. This means these new iPhones will be able to connect to the super-fast 6GHz WiFi band for even quicker downloads, lower lag, and less interference. You'll need a WiFi 6E router to take full advantage of these speeds. This should make streaming videos, online gaming, and more a smoother experience!

Same Models but Bigger Differnces

Just like the iPhone 14, the iPhone 15 lineup will include four models - two regular and two "Pro" versions. However, the Pro models will see some major upgrades over the regular ones this time. Rumors say the two Pro iPhones will get Apple's newest A17 chip, which is super fast and efficient. Their cameras and memories will also be significantly better than the regular models.

The Pro iPhones may even get a new "periscope zoom" lens for clearer distant photos. But the regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus look like they'll miss out on these cool new features and basically just reuse parts from the iPhone 14 Pro. So it seems Apple wants to make the "Pro" iPhones really stand out!

Exciting New Reveal Coming Soon!

The new iPhone 15 series is expected to be announced, as usual, this coming September. We can't wait to see what other crazy features Apple has in store! Make sure to check back here for all the latest iPhone 15 leaks and rumors so you know what to expect. This is shaping up to be one of the biggest iPhone upgrades yet.

Images of the Colorado Rockies taken by photographer Abelardo Morell. He uses a prism to project nearby landscapes onto the ground, which gives the pictures their unique texture. Explanation of his process under the cut:
From his website:
Tumblr media
My Tent/Camera is made of a simple light-proof material that wraps around a large adapted tripod that has a plate on top which holds two devices:
1: A 90-degree prism with a lens attached (diopter) This prism acts like a periscope projecting an image of the nearby landscape on the ground below. The focus of the projected image can be adjusted by raising or lowering the height of the tent-Technically this has the effect of changing the focal length of my lens attached to the prism. This makes it possible to achieve discrete focused areas of the image.
2: Next to the prism on top is a digital camera looking straight down and focused on the ground. A picture made this way shows, both the granular details of the ground -stones, grass, dirt cement, etc. plus an added projected vista of the landscape giving the overall result an illusion of a painterly patina that I like. The camera is connected to a laptop computer outside the tent which allows me to compose, see and focus an image with precision.
While I know that technical explanations alone do not fully convey my deeper artistic reasons for exploring reality this way, I think that it is important to outline clearly how this device works and, in a sense, express what I am after. The evolution of photographic technology, since its invention in 1839, has always been tied to the artistic vision and ambition of its practitioners. My aim in this work is to ground myself in new realities.
My pictures show what was there in front and under me. Nothing that was not there has been added. I do believe that the reality of the world seen through various lenses and temperaments surpasses anything that I might want to invent.

Wow.
A lens probably none of us have ever seen before- and one that took its owner six years to find. This is a Petri 100mm f4.5 periscope lens mounted on a Petri FTE.
It works as you expect- and looks even weirder (and is lighter) than you think.
I can’t think of any practical use for it (I’m already 195cm tall) but as soon as it was in my hands I started wondering what it would be like to take out in public.
Amazing lens- thanks for bringing it to the gallery today, Kawada-san.

Fire Control: Rangefinders, Beginnings
Tumblr media
"Range is perhaps the most critical factor of naval gunnery. It determines what guns can be used, when a fight begins, and what maneuvers a ship will take. Range also has a tremendous impact on the difficulty of hitting a target; the further the distance, the more factors affect the shell in flight, and the harder it is to predict where a target will be by the time the shell arrives. But how does one measure the distance?
Many a film has featured lookouts high on the masts, spying enemy sails on the horizon. Many have also featured officers watching the enemy with a telescope, using it to better see distant objects. These tried-and-true methods for spotting a target remained important in naval warfare, but they also served as the basis for rangefinding; once a target was spotted, the spotter needed to be able to measure the distance to it, and keep it in their sights. The earliest methods for measuring this distance were the stadimeter and the sextant. The stadimeter measured height - imagine line of sight to the base of a target is one line, and line of sight to the top of a target is another. The stadimeter could measure the angle between these two imaginary lines at the viewer's position. The sextant was similar, but measured line of sight to the horizon from a point with a known height (ie, 50' up on a mast) and line of sight to the waterline of the target. The distance from the target to the horizon completed the triangle, and the sextant operator an idea of where the target stood between themselves and the horizon.
Specialized rangefinders began appearing in 1885. These comprised two lenses facing the same direction, but well separated - like a fusion of binoculars and a periscope turned on its side. One lens was fixed, creating one side of a triangle. The length of the device created the 2nd side. The 3rd was determined by adjusting the other lens to normalize the view of the target. Details of this, and how these devices were incorporated aboard ships, will be tomorrow's post."

Remarkable Features of the iPhone 15 Pro Max
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is Apple's latest flagship smartphone, and it's packed with impressive features. Here's a closer look at some of the most notable ones:
Design and Build
The iPhone 15 Pro Max features a sleek and modern design with a titanium frame and Corning-made glass on both the front and back. It's also IP68-rated, making it water and dust-resistant.
The titanium frame is stronger and more durable than aluminum, and it also gives the phone a more premium look and feel. The Corning-made glass is also very durable, and it's resistant to scratches and cracks.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is also slightly thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max. This makes it more comfortable to hold and use, even for extended periods of time.
Display
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a stunning 6.7-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. This means that you can enjoy your favorite content in stunning clarity and detail.
The 120Hz refresh rate makes animations look incredibly smooth and fluid. HDR10 and Dolby Vision provide a wider range of colors and brighter contrast, resulting in more realistic and immersive visuals.
The peak brightness of 2000 nits makes the display easy to see, even in bright sunlight. This is especially useful when you're using your phone outdoors or in other well-lit environments.
Performance
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is powered by the latest A17 Pro chip, which is built on a 3nm process. This makes it one of the fastest smartphones on the market, capable of handling even the most demanding tasks with ease.
The A17 Pro chip is also very efficient, so you can expect to get long battery life from the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Camera System
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a triple-lens camera system on the back, consisting of a 48MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. This system takes stunning photos and videos in any lighting condition.
The 48MP wide-angle lens captures more detail than ever before, and it also performs better in low light. The 12MP periscope telephoto lens provides 5x optical zoom, which is the most on any iPhone to date. This makes it possible to zoom in on distant objects without losing any detail.
The 12MP ultrawide lens captures a wide field of view, making it perfect for capturing landscapes and group photos.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max also has a new ProMotion camera system that features a faster autofocus system and improved low-light performance.
Video Recording
The iPhone 15 Pro Max can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. It also supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR recording.
The new ProMotion camera system also features improved video stabilization, making it easier to capture smooth and steady videos.
Battery Life
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a large 4422mAh battery that can easily last a full day on a single charge. It also supports fast wired and wireless charging, so you can quickly top it up when needed.
Price
The iPhone 15 Pro Max officially hit the market in September 2023, with an initial price point of 230,000 BDT in Bangladesh. This price applies to the 8GB 256GB variant, while the higher-storage variants are expected to command higher prices. It caters to a wide range of preferences and needs.

This is a rather strange hypothetical question, but.... if the Rogues were somehow doused by Scarecrow's fear toxin, what do you think they would see? (More specifically, what would they see under the influence of the specific toxin that causes a person to see their worst fears?)
Hmmm, interesting question. I think for some it's easier to figure than others, because their subconscious is so close to the surface that we can see its periscope, to paraphrase Al Desmond.
Mick famously has/had a terrible phobia of the cold thanks to that meat locker, though I think his worst fear is probably about what happened to his family or a fear of his pyromania getting so out of control that he hurts other people he cares about. Maybe even strangers he doesn't know, like a building full of little kids.
Len and Lisa probably most fear being at their father's mercy again, even if he's dead (no idea whether Larry is dead in current continuity or not). I think that's what they'd see in a fear toxin vision, at any rate, since it's still so raw for them. It's possible Len's greatest fear is something bad happening to Lisa, but I don't think the converse would be her greatest fear.
Roscoe would fear being inadequate again like in his youth, even if it's just being perceived that way by others. He is desperate to be recognized as highly intelligent and powerful -- y'know, the top of his class -- and just being average again would be intolerable for him.
Sort of similarly, we've seen that Digger's greatest fear is being laughed at and considered a joke. Sometimes he hides that well with a lackadaisical attitude towards being considered a loser, and sometimes he doesn't. Rob Williams' Suicide Squad run established him as a huge mess of anxiety, so it's possible he's got a lot of fears which could attack him.
The others are less obvious, at least to me.
Owen is afraid of being alone and adrift without family and friends, though I'm not sure whether that'd be his worst fear.
Evan is afraid of losing himself in Wonderland, either physically or emotionally. He flirts with it, both to dull his emotional pain and probably as a form of self-harm, but fears he'll be swallowed by it.
I think Hartley's probably most afraid he'll lose his hearing again and will never be able to hear more music, but he likely has a terror of being under his parents' dominion again and having no control over his life. For him things are complicated because the two fears are connected with each other and he may have mixed feelings about getting his implant, but losing music after discovering it would likely be devastating to him.
It's very possible that James' greatest fear is still falling, but I feel he probably has something deeper than that. Williamson's run established a significant fear of disappointing his crappy parents, but I wasn't a fan of that story, TBH. He may have a pretty big neurosis about the two of those fears tied together; either way, I'm sure any fears he has stem from his early life, pre-Trickster.
It's unclear to me what Mark's greatest fear is, but I suspect fear gas would make him relive the trauma of Clyde's death. We know he has flashbacks about it, and the subject causes him great distress.
With Axel I'm not sure, but he may be similar to Owen with fears of losing his chosen family. It's why he lets Len kick him around when he misbehaves.
Roy might face fears about being unable to create art, but in all honesty the guy has faced a lot of worst-case scenarios in his life and has survived them, so maybe there isn't much left for him to fear. He's been mocked and laughed at his entire life, people have doubted his skills because of his disability and his gimmick, and he's lost his family. I guess he might fear disappointing his beloved (deceased) dad, but his dad clearly believed in him so much that maybe he doesn't have any self-doubts about it, and Roy is tough enough to press on with his art and as a supervillain even despite people's cruelties. He's an interesting case. I kind of like the idea of him being mostly unaffected by the fear gas because of his own fear-inducing ability, but the gas probably doesn't work that way.
Al is tough because his personality has changed so drastically over the years. Pre-Johns, Al most feared his darker impulses and what they indicated about him, so much so that he created a tulpa to wall them off in another being. It wasn't 'him' who wanted to do those bad things, it was Alvin or Dr Alchemy. But since the year 2000 or so, I've got no idea what he fears most or might keep him up at night…there might not be anything.
Sam is frankly an enigma to me, as he's generally been presented as so cocky and hasn't really had a lot of personal development. He's occasionally gotten the crap scared out of him (by Batman, the False Face Society, the near-fatal attack by the Eradicator; recently he was terrified of Lex Luthor), but he's never really indicated any primal fears or past doubts which haunt him. I think the fear gas would make him see something we don't know about yet.

The Periscope lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be supplied by Largan
According to the latest article by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the periscope (zoom) lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max will only be supplied by Largan.
Tumblr media
Rumors of an iPhone with a periscope lens have been circulating since early 2020 — when Kuo first mentioned this possibility.
Tumblr media
According to Kuo, the average selling price for Largan’s periscope lens is about $4 (including prisms), significantly lower than the market average of $4.50 to $5 or more.
Tumblr media
Kuo believes that both iPhone 16 Pro models in 2024 will use a periscope lens similar or identical to the lens used in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and Apple will continue the trend of differentiating standard and Pro models by reserving some of the highest-end hardware features for the Pro line.

*Finding Nemo seagull voice* lore? lore? lore?
Is... is Ira using pieces of the gnarlrock as light sources for plants? What? "Ira warned us they have an immediate proximity issue... just said it wasn't healthy." And Ira can handle them. He's the one who brought them here. Definitely makes me think that the gnarlrock is one of those things that's just pure power — it can be used for good or bad, but it isn't inherently either, it's just powerful.
Also makes me think that one of the conceits of this campaign is that a neutral perspective is an assumption of the world.
Fearne is half elven! Ollie is a blond elf with a Scottish accent. The only other elves we know of that have this accent are the elves of Uthodurn, but it's implied that Ollie is from the Feywild originally (and is therefore an eladrin, maybe?).
Treshi is (allegedly) the one who instructed Ira's experimentation and the subjects of said experimentation. From what we know right now, I would argue that Ira is just as chaotic neutral as Chetney is.
The machine that Ollie, Birdie, and Ira are building is called the "veil scatter-scope," and it can see things for dozens of miles around like a goddamn periscope. Even without the lens from Morri, it can see leylines, and they look like auroras. When the telescope looks at Ruidus, "it's almost like your thoughts seem to wander when you focus too hard on it." The telescope could see many things, but not Ruidus — until now.
"I don't know how much your mother's told you... we've been trying to figure out this dubious lunar nightmare since it showed up back home. You were touched by its flare... several years later, it just showed up in one of the shaded regions. Now, you were too young to really tell much about this, but I have from my mother what she calls the squint — I get little glimpses of possibilities when I'm in danger, little flashes of choices and I pick the better one. It's like a faint oracle touch, whatever you wanna call it... usually just teases, flashes, enough to get out of trouble. But when I saw that red moon invading our sky, I had more than a squint, it was a full vision. I saw the red light of that moon widen like a hungry mist, decaying the life and green from out homeland, leaving dust and dull red light in its wake... I saw our home crumble, I saw what was Birdie's silhouette standing in the center of the light unmoving, reaching for it before it caught us all. But looking at you now, I'm not sure it was her silhouette... we knew we had to do something."
*drunkposting starts here*
After Ollie sought help from the Seelie Court, they were threatened by the Unseelie, and he and Birdie followed them back to the Unseelie Court. There, they discovered that the Unseelie had put up an illusion to hide the moon from the rest of the Feywild, and we know the rest of the story from Birdie.
Morrigan is also known as "the Fate-Stitcher." what??
The parallels to EXU:C are really stacking up.
Hondir believes that Imogen is Ruidus-born
Both Otohan and the other gray-haired elven man — who wore grey and blue robes — are Ruidus-born.
"Time's been ticking down for years now, leading in this direction."
Ira is fucking fascinating, and I love his character in a really fucked up way.
"I had grown weary of such post-war times... between a wild that bored me and a world that forgot me, I was restless... yes, I've done merry an impulsive and selfish thing, but it seemed interesting enough to pursue." Very fey, and very very similar to Artagan. "You don't have to trust me, but if you stop me, what do you learn? You don't have to trust me... just let me work."
Oh my god, three-way date with Ira, Ashton, and Laudna? I thought I had my ships set in stone for this campaign, but..... if someone writes this, please tag me
The Moontide Crown is "partially metal, partially immaterial crystal," and it does some "pretty interesting things" when you put it on, like increasing darkvision range, giving truesight, giving "magics I'd never felt before," and having a "strong connection to the skies above, I could draw magics from the moon — both of them."
When Birdie and Ollie left Fearne, she was "still a young girl, but not that [14] young." To which Ira notes that "well, you left her with Morri. She is a collector of things. If she knew she had limited time, she might've stretched it for all it's worth. It wouldn't be the first time."
So in theory, Fearne was born in 823 PD, if my drunk math doesn't deceive me.
Morrigan is 12-13 feet tall?? what the fuck???
"What was Morri like before Fearne?" "Like us, one of those outlier fey, a collector of sorts... she plays guardian to one of her own fanes, a place of power, and she does favors for those who ask in exchange for things to add to her collection... she's what you would call crone. She has no coven, she's a strange one in her own right. She's been around for as long as I have... it seemed to work out okay, there could've been worse choices [to take care of Fearne, pointing towards Ira]."
??????
"Ira, you said that she would make this for us, right? Right?"
So Fearne was what Ollie and Birdie gave in exchange for Morri creating the final component of their telescope.
Huh.
Wild.
Fey.
(definitely not me, looking at this discordant morality between fey and mortal as if it's the same as the incongruent morality between Betrayers and mortals in EXU:C.)
"Ira, what are we building?"
"As you glance through, you see before you the green sheen before what us almost a dark, universal sky speckled with stars, And there in the center, is the lightly muddied red of Ruidus, a familiar sight... but there's something you've never seen before around it. There is a shape that encompasses it, clear as day, like a field of energy, like something that encapsulates it. Not unlike some of the magical forcefields and such you've learned to generate, and it has a texture, like a lattice weave, an extremely powerful gathering of different magical threads that crate this textured weave that seals it off entirely... it looks more like like a cage. It's strong, distinct, something you've never seen before, unlike anything you've ever seen..."
"It's a prison."
"What do you see?"
"I see a god that can't get out. Am I right?"
"It's my first time hearing of it..." [Make an insight check. [16.] Hard to read... [24]... 'an imprisoned god, you say? Interesting...'"
"Any breaks in the weave, any flaws? [Natural 1.] Focused on this, it's still a fresh sight... as you look through it, the sense of a headache that was mentioned before never takes root... and you swear, you swear there's something you're missing."
Orym?
NATURAL 20 FOR A 27
"Glancing in, he adjusts some of the elements..." "As you focus in, you see the same lattice shape, you blink a bit... roll a religion check for me. [8] While the nature of this field that contains the red moon evades you, your eyes catch a glint in the middle of the red storm as the device is scanning past the front of it, and it's moving away from it... As the telescope pushes past the layer of lattice-like energy, the storm is clearer than its ever been. [Imogen] sees it part for just a moment, and there's a city."
nooooooooo I'm too drunk to process this fully, what the fuck
Cognouza? Avalir? the Ars ward of Aeor that we've never seen before? who fucking knows???
[text break]
Tharizdun enthusiasts, how we doin'?
I will expand upon this tomorrow when I collect my thoughts
