16 & 29 for ao3 wrapped? 😊
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
I'm boring and tag very generically but like, utility-focused, so my most common tag is Drabble, followed by Canon Compliant, Canon Character of Color, Alternate Universe, and Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence. The first like, "fun" tag that comes up with over 100 uses is Polyamory, but I PERSONALLY FEEL like I use "Food As A Metaphor For Love" and "Grief/Mourning" an awful lot.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
Oh, damn. Uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh. That's a really good question. I don't often have lines that I feel like are like, particularly great on their own? There are beats I've written or drabbles I've written that I think have a good rhythm because of a line in them and how it plays with the other lines, but I very rarely have a "star line." And I think that because most of what I write IS a singular beat, I just either like it as a whole piece or I don't, yk?
This is a really good question. It's making me think about my writing in a way I normally don't.
I think maybe my favorite line of Five Times Captain America Fucked A USO Girl... is:
"“Ain’t you blue,” Lois teases. She bends over the back of Steve’s abandoned chair, butt high and round and framed in those soft pink garters, a perfect pinup gal. Steve bites his lips at the way her nipples match the silk like they came as a set."
My favorite line of Not In the Answer But the Question is either:
"Yeasty challah and tangy rye. Hot, fresh bagels. Charred onion and garlic. Bright vinegar on the half-sour pickles. Roasting beef dripping fat that sizzles on the bottom of the huge, hot ovens. Earthy barley and mushrooms. The iron-rich blood scent of liver. Schmaltz. Chicken soup with fat matzoh balls. Briny salmon and whitefish and sable. Herring smothered in biting raw onions. Caviar that scents of the sea. The sugary fake chocolate of egg creams and phosphates. The strange herbal fizz of celery soda. Peppery pastrami and salty corned beef, roasted chickens and blistered skirt steak. Cinnamon babka. Raspberry jam rugelach."
or
“Sure I am,” Bucky says. “Steve, ain’t no words for anything that I am that aren’t drenched in blood and the poison of people who hate me for being alive.”
My favorite line in Gee, I Hope You're Ready For A Fic About Death is:
No one is ever ready to deal with the idea of death, Beetlejuice has found. Well, almost no one. Occasionally there’s a stray lama or emo who gets it, is ready to sail through the Netherworld to—whatever is on its other side. But Dalais and Dark’ness Dementia Raven-Ways aside, Beetlejuice has never, not ever, met a soul who could deal with the idea that everything dies.
What about my kids? My cat? My cactus? What about rock’n’roll? The video star? Print journalism?
Everything. Dies.
And my favorite line in A Smile On Your Immortal Face is:
“Don’t I get to choose what I deserve?”
“No,” Nellie says simply. “You’re a woman.”
A dragonfly buzzes jewel-like over the water.
“That isn’t fair,” says Samantha. “I didn’t ask to be. I wanted to stay a girl. An American girl, the freest creature in all history.”

Simplest Way to Make The Best Corn Beef Sandwich [2022] (Recipe)
Tumblr media
On rye or pumpernickel bread, this Reuben sandwich is stuffed with corned beef, sauerkraut, and plenty of cheese. It's a great way to use up St. Patrick's Day leftover corned beef!
Tumblr media
Corn Beef Sandwich Recipe Recommended: - The Best Pizza Pan To Buy - The Paella Pan Reviews Read Here - The Best Induction Hot Plate
WHAT IS A REUBEN SANDWICH?
Corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing are used to make the reuben sandwich. It is typically served on rye bread or marbled bread. This sandwich can be made and served either hot or cold. I usually get one from a local deli, and it's perfectly warmed up, with the cheese all melty and delicious. A traditional Rueben Sandwich is made in a skillet and then heated until the Swiss cheese melts. We made the same sandwich again today, but this time we cooked it in our Air Fryer to perfection.
LET’S TALK BREAD!
For a corned beef sandwich, I recommend Ciabatta. Ciabatta has a lovely chewy texture that crisps up beautifully. This provides a nice contrast to the corned beef's very soft texture. I used ciabatta panini rolls in this recipe, but you can use regular ciabatta rolls or even slices from a loaf.

Classic Reuben Sandwich
REUBEN SANDWICH INGREDIENTS
You'll need the following ingredients to make a reuben: Reuben dressing is a simple combination of mayonnaise, ketchup, and diced pickles. Traditionally, a Russian dressing, which is a mayonnaise-based dressing with ketchup and other ingredients, is used. This is a condensed version. - Reuben bread – For the traditional bread, use a light rye bread, but sourdough or any artisan bread that can be griddled will also work. - Corned beef – A traditional reuben is made with corned beef, but you can substitute pastrami or even turkey (called a Rachel when there is coleslaw too). - Swiss cheese – To make things easier, buy it pre-sliced. - Sauerkraut – Canned sauerkraut works well in this recipe; just make sure to drain it thoroughly so your sandwich doesn't become mushy.
CORNED BEEF SANDWICH
Here are my suggestions for sandwich fillings: - Horseradish Mayo – Horseradish and beef go together beautifully. I like to add mayo to make a creamier sauce (homemade recipe in the recipe card below). However, a very thin spread of horseradish or even mustard will suffice! - Caramelized Onions – These add sweetness to offset the saltiness of the corned beef. You can use store-bought or homemade (homemade recipe in the recipe card below). You can simply fry some onions if you prefer. - Rocket/Arugula – This provides a peppery complement to the corned beef. - Tomatoes – Make sure to use good quality vine-ripened tomatoes that aren't too sour!

Corn Beef Sandwich
HOW TO MAKE A REUBEN SANDWICH?
This corned beef reuben recipe takes only 15 minutes to prepare! Except for the reuben dressing, none of the ingredients require any preparation. (Isn't that the best?!) Here's the best reuben recipe: - Make the reuben dressing. Combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, and pickles in a small mixing bowl. Place aside. - Bread with butter Spread butter on one side of each loaf of bread. - Assemble your reubens. Place a slice of cheese, sauerkraut, dressing, corned beef, and the other slice of bread on top of the bread (not the butter side!). - Make reubens. Sandwiches should be cooked for 2-4 minutes per side over medium-low heat, until golden brown.
HOW TO STORE LEFTOVER REUBENS?
While the reuben ingredients can be kept in the refrigerator, I wouldn't recommend making the sandwich and then storing it. The combination of griddled bread and reuben dressing should not be stored because it will result in a mushy sandwich.
CAN YOU FREEZE CORNED BEEF?
Cooked corned beef can be frozen by tightly wrapping it in cling film or aluminum foil and placing it in an airtight container or freezer bag (more safe-spacing). You can keep it in the freezer for up to 3 months, so label it. When you're ready to eat it, simply defrost it overnight in the fridge. I haven't tried it myself, but you can freeze uncooked corned beef after it's been cured. Remove the brine, wrap tightly, and place in a freezer bag for up to 1 month.
WHAT MEAT TO USE?
Tumblr media
Loaded Corn Beef Sandwich Although this is a traditional sandwich made with corned beef, it can also be made with pastrami meat. Both can be found in the deli section; if you ask them to slice it, I recommend having it sliced in 1/8 inch pieces.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH REUBEN SANDWICHES?
Because the whole point of sandwiches for dinner is to keep things simple, keep the sides simple as well! - Raw vegetables with a Greek yogurt veggie dip - Crispy potato chips - Coleslaw - Pickles
VARIATIONS OF A REUBEN SANDWICH
Try it with fish, such as Walleye, Grouper, or Tilapia, for some variations on the classic Reuben Sandwich! Of course, living in Minnesota, the walleye variation makes perfect sense. To make the "Rachel" version, replace the corned beef and sauerkraut with pastrami and coleslaw. You're not a meat eater? This Reuben Sandwich can also be made vegetarian-style. Simply substitute zucchini, cucumbers, or mushrooms for the corned beef.

Easy Corn Beef Sandwich
TIPS FOR MAKING A REUBEN SANDWICH
You'd be surprised how simple it is to make an Arby's reuben. But, to make the best reuben sandwich possible, keep the following tips in mind: - Make sure to use good bread. Bread is an essential component of a sandwich. In this reuben recipe, we use rye bread, which is nutritious, soft on the inside, and crusty when grilled. - The liquid from the sauerkraut should be drained. This will keep your sandwich from getting soggy. If you prefer, you can substitute coleslaw for it. - Grill your sandwich on a panini press or griddle. - To replace the Thousand Island dressing, use store-bought Russian dressing or chili garlic sauce. We recommend using these sauces if you want a little heat in your sandwich.
Frequently Asked Questions

It can also be consumed cold or straight from the can.Why is canned corned beef bad for you?Although corned beef contains some important nutrients, it is still processed red meat, which has been linked to an increased risk of health problems such as heart disease and cancer. How do you eat canned corned beef?Canned corned beef is a popular breakfast ingredient. Simply slice the beef and fry it in a skillet, then serve with eggs, grits, potatoes, rice, or whatever you want. On a simple sandwich, canned beef is delicious. I know people have talked about this but here I am again to repeat it:
Almost all the Newsies most wildest things they could want are basic things a human should have
Race- a pair of new shoes with matching laces
Henery (I think)- pastrami on rye with a sour pickle
Spot- a porcelain tub with boiling water
Mush- a haircut that costs a quarter
Les- my very own bed and a indoor terlet (toilet)
Imagine being Katherine or Denton and hearing these boys talking about how all they want if they could have anything would be a bite to eat or shoes that match (or more specifically that the laces match) or a bath.

- so spot stayed out of the strike at first to make sure manhattan would stand firm, so that none of his kids would get harmed in the process

- he’s definitely original (he ran all the way to the sun’s circulation gate just to see if they upped prices and he’s broken into and out of the refuge)
- both feats listed above prove his observational skills, creativity, and intelligence
- he’s also inquisitive enough to try and make an alternative to glasses
henry butler: hufflepuff
- he loves food enough for the first thing that came to mind when he was asked what he wanted, was a “pastrami on rye with a sour pickle” (also his dad used to own a deli)
-he’s practical and just
smalls: slytherin
- they’re obviously important enough in the bronx to be the one announcing the borough
         - possibly the leader
- they’re the one during the spoon fight, showing themselves to be assertive or at least pretty bold
- they’re at least a little aggressive
(i got most of my info from the trading card bios)

Wildlight Kitchen + Bar x UBC.
There’s a clear “West Coast Wild” culinary influence to the brand new restaurant’s core all-day menu concept of locally-sourced ingredients including fresh seafood. Its pedigree comes from Executive Chef Warren Chow who was classically trained in French cuisine but brings along modern tastes and flavours.
Pan-seared Hokkaido scallops with lobster and truffle risotto, preserved lemon, paprika oil, and squid ink tuile.
“Pescatarian Board”: salmon pastrami, beet-cured ling cod, marinated green lip mussels, smoked albacore tataki, cod rillette, pickled sea asparagus, warm olives, rye, poppadom, and nori crackers.
“Kazuki Sour”: Sheringham Kazuki gin, Cointreau, salted yuzu syrup, egg white, and citrus, served up.

I just tried one of the pickles from my first ever batch. It’s still early in the fermentation process, so it’s more like a half-sour than a proper kosher dill, nvm like a garlic full sour. It was pretty good though! So let’s see, I make a mean latke, I’ve already absolutely nailed curing brisket - for corned beef - and rubbing and smoking it for pastrami. Just gotta work on my baking skills to get some rye bread, then get my kreplach down, and maybe derma, and then my house is a whole ass kosher deli (minus y’know the part where I have pork)
