Ok, I recently wrote an essay [here] talking about the definition and duties of civil engineering as well as the ethics because of the brain rot @swordfright gave me with calling Dream Sam’s ultimate engineering project. So, because I actually am a civil engineer I took it upon myself to design the title and summary of quantities sheets just like I do at work for roads but with Dream as the project instead. And in honor of angst day sponsored by @sixteenth-day-event, I figured I’d share it because I feel like it kinda works for the prison of the mind prompt.

“Sam’s “ultimate engineering project” he deemed too damaged like a bumpy road or crumbling building that wasn’t worthy of patching and filling in the cracks or reinforcing, that’s too eroded to be fixed and preserved. So, Sam strived to tear him down to the bedrock so he could remake, remold, and reengineer Dream according to his design for the common safety, public health and well-fair.”

{These are very similar to the actual sheets I make day to day, which I shall not share for the sake of doxing my location, but yea pretty much everything has a significance. Some of it doesn’t necessarily make sense but that was because I was more so taking inventory of what we see in lore (so you know I counted ;) lol)}

I find myself reflecting upon the attitude that the only “acceptable” redemption for c!Dream requires violent coercive action. It’s a startlingly common take even among those who agree in general terms that retributive justice is broadly a bad idea and that Pandora’s Vault/torture in particular is either immoral, ineffective, or both.

If a “redemption arc” always requires violence or the threat of it, what exactly is being communicated?

Pandoras vault is a work of art, not just narratively but mechanically.

It’s a fucking tragedy that so few people positioned to appreciate how complex and amazing pandoras vault is got to see it.

Like. Tubbo was salivating for a non canon tour for a reason. Techno’s awe and compliments when he entered the prison speaks volumes.

Alarms to detect block breaking? Layers of explosion protected obsidian? Daily changed out keycards? From a system that was completely inaccessible and sealed? Ender pearl chambers for fast recall? A network of nether portals to prevent someone from linking a portal to inside of the prision from the nether? The visitation system?

That thing is a marvel. Not only is it constructed in survival it’s constructed to be truly survival functional on a server where people will brute force and just break in.

And as fans and server mates found possible ways in, Sam patched it, was there to defend it, multiple times, in ways that suited the narrative.

Then he found weaknesses to allow for a extraordinarily epic, fully in camera, in survival break in. Then patched them. Then did it again.

And to hear Sam talk about it there’s more to the mechanisms than we ever saw.

so he take it out on you doing things like shoving his fingers in ur mouth etc

n Dream sits there getting nervous/afraid that it will lead to noncon or something like that - only if you're comfortable

A/N: I fucking love this idea. This is just gonna be a drabble here. Im not gonna do a full on smut thing but I will 100% to to build tension. I normally wouldn’t write stuff like this, but I’m making an exception. This is not proofread, I’m very sleepy, BUT, I think I’ll actually write a fic ab this later.

CW: Injuries, Suggested Noncon, slight manhandling, steamy shit, mentions of torture, yelling, swearing.

-You were in a cell with Quackity and Dream. This wasn’t the first time Quackity had tortured you, but this time the atmosphere felt different.

-Throughout the torture visits, you had still always look to Dream for help, even though everyone knew that he wouldn’t.

-And Quackity was getting tired of you ignoring him despite cuts and abrasions all over you that he was inflicting. After all the blood, you were still looking at Dream with pleading eyes.

-Pleading with DREAM to help. Not even minding Quackity. Anger and frustration were building up. You yelled one last plea at Dream to get Quackity to stop.

-This quickly made Quackity loose his temper. He was tired of your shit. He set aside his weapon before grabbing your cheeks and jaw in one tense fist.

-“Eyes on me. What’s he gonna do? Huh? Focus on me.” With that, his thumb pushed up your upper lip, revealing your canines.

-The entire room shifted, now even more tense and uncomfortable. You went silent, avoiding eye contact with with Quackity.

-“FUCKING LOOK AT ME.”

-It was at this point that Dream finally looked up, seemingly opening his mouth to speak. Quackity quickly interrupted whatever he was gonna say.

-“So now you wanna help them? You don’t like seeing them like this?” He almost let out a laugh, putting two fingers into your mouth, pressing down gently on your tongue.

-At this point you knew better than to fight back. You could taste sweat and metal lingering on his fingers.

-“You’re pathetic Dream. Is that really what it took? Me touching them. You’re fine with their blood being spilled, but if I touch them?” Quackity grinned.

-Despite how much you feared the man, something about his tone flipped a switch in your mind.

-Quackity pulled you up from the ground, pressing your back into his chest. He placed a hand on your neck as his lips got dangerously close to your neck. Dream tensed.

-“you don’t like it when I do this Huh?”

-You were about to speak up when two fingers re-entered your mouth.

-“I wasn’t fucking talk to you, Y/N.”

-His voice went into more of a whisper as his lips brushed along the back of your ear.

-“I know you’re enjoying this.”

-Overall, he enjoyed this visit. He found out that touching you get under Dreams skin. And it does something for you.

So um, in light of my last post I was inspired to look into other dsmp people's ages because I feel like we don’t really think about it too often and oh does it make things interesting…

Just for reference and consideration, here are some United States Legal Age Minimums:

Drive: 16-18

Adult: 18-21

Vote: 18

Drink Alcohol: 21

Political Office: 25 (Representative) 30 (Senator) 35 (President)

Military: 17-18

Also Note: On average the brain is scientifically not fully developed until age 25 - and oh wouldn't you know it 90% of the server fall under that, meaning no wonder we have a bunch of wars their prefrontal cortex isn't fully developed and wouldn't you know it that part of the brain is responsible for regulating attention, behavior, and emotion as well as the processing that Actions Have Consequences... huh whelp that makes sense.

Anyways… age data is below (I didn't do everyone nor every event - nobody got time for that ;D... I didn't have time for this to begin with lol...) But I specifically want to highlight that not only was Dream 21 from Jan-Aug of his Imprisonment, but Sam was also 21 till Jun, and Quackity was literally 20 while he was daily torturing Dream... 20?! They were roughly a year apart, all of them so close. Like can you imagine, treating your peer like that? Sam is like a couple months older than Dream and that's it. Quackity can't even drink legally in the United States. That's insane...
