Hellooo silly tumblr people on my browser!!! I’ve decided to kind of avoid posting about murder drones stuff, and talk about it less frequently as it doesn’t interest me as much as it did, or at least until I’m able to get some new insight on episodes or teasers (which I may come back for). I've said this before but genuinely working with kids who love WOF for a solid 80% of my week for the past year/year and a half is what's actually killed my interest in WOF (tho I'm still here, obviously, and the ttrpg isn't going anywhere). Like,,,, idk man they have stickers on their water bottles of their fave guys and I think it's just made me detach a lot more from the rewriting I do bc as long as kids are having fun with it I kind of settle into a neutral tolerance instead of the like writing mania that this blog has operated on for the past,,,,,, jesus, it's been 8 years.

in my headcanon brighthearts dog attack also took off all the whiskers on that side of her face, what would this change for her realistically?

The loss of the whiskers is actually more devastating than the loss of the eye.

Whiskers are important for judging distance and are one of the reasons why blind cats are so good at navigating in close quarters without vision. She would have to re-learn skills she took for granted before.

For example, running full-speed through the forest. She used to be able to feel if a stick or tree was too close for comfort, but now she's constantly getting grazed by thickets and other obstacles. She also has no sense on that side of the face, so sneaking up on her is very easy.

Canon greatly overestimated how dehabilitating it is though. It's really not a great big inspiring story that Cloudtail helped her figure out how to adjust. The biggest thing is having a buddy to help her practice who's patient and fun to be around.

I do like how Darkest Hour gave her a distinctive "bob-and-weave" move, even though it's not necessary LMAO. I just think it sounds cool for her to be a very tricky fighter who moves around a lot.

Realistically, she does keep her good side turned to the opponent, so she can keep her whiskers on them. The worst part is that it would expose a broad side of her neck... could be fixed with an armored collar of some kind.

anyway i was going to draw the lineart more scribbly like the one overlayed there but it felt like it might look lazy so i redrew it and used the old lineart as a fun voerlay.

#honestly this is the news i was hoping for #i kniw everyone wants the 4hr edit but honestly i hope/expect them to wait a while #i dont really think its fair to release a directors edit like that before a movies one year anniversary #maybe its just my film nerd coming out but its needed to give the original cut time to make its stand both with audiences and with awards #theres power in a tight edit...baz's editors did an amazing job cutting this movie into a packed film thats long but doesnt feel slugish #its concise in its message its themes and treatment of the subject. sometimes those things get muddied and the energy of a film like this.. #...deminished when every scene is left in. cuts get made for a reason. that being said of course i hope we get to see that footage one day. #but id like to let ppl sit w the original cut and enjoy its strengths as is before releasing an alternate version right away. its become... #...more normal to get alternate cuts but honestly its been more as a way to 'fix' a bad movie or please angry fans. the last thing they... #...should be doing is thinking they need to fix anything or feel they need to compromise their artistic vision or go back on... #...their creative decisions just to please others. lol maybe its the artist in me but anyway. im very happy with this news! #elvis #baz luhrmann #austin butler #elvis ost
