Remus tried to ignore the snickering coming from the two men at the kitchen table as he scrubbed the blood from his hands, using the brush to get under his nails. 

“It’s not even that funny in theory, it’s just that it’s so un-Moony like that makes it funny.” James giggled, actually giggled, like a schoolgirl. Remus could kill him. 

“Wait, wait, wait.” Lily’s voice, authoritative and deep compared to James’ snickering, jumped in. “You’re telling me the plan was almost foiled because Remus got distracted flirting with a girl at the bar?” 

“Not only was the plan nearly foiled, Red,” Sirius offered between fits of laughter, “the dumb bloke nearly died.”

“I didn’t nearly die.” Remus spat under his breath. 

“His drink was spiked whilst he was busy ogling the bird – she had to stop him from taking a swig!” James completed, howling in laughter. 

Lily brought her hand up to her mouth in an ill attempt to hide her amusement as she turned her gaze to the guilty man. “Oh, Remus.” 

“We caught the bastard, didn’t we?” He barked, swatting James and Sirius on the back of their heads as he took a place at the kitchen table beside Harry. “Besides, James, you’re not supposed to refer to women as birds.” Remus enunciated, causing James to wince as he correctly presumed the whack of a tea towel was headed his way from his wife.

“Right you are, Remus. This is why you’re my favourite.” She said, winking at him. The other two men scoffed in mock outrage.

“But he almost blew the whole stake out!” James cried at the same time as Sirius countered with “I nearly blow all our missions because of my flirting, why am I not your favourite?” 

Lily rolled her eyes as a third voice popped up.

“You’re no one’s favourite Sirius, I can’t believe you still haven’t figured that out.” Regulus muttered as he placed a kiss to Lily’s head before moving to the table to place a matching one on James and Harry’s. 

Sirius scoffed, “and no kiss either. I see how it is.” He said as he crossed his arms. 

“Awe, Pads! If you wanted kisses, you only had to ask!” James hollered as he threw himself at his best friend and left loud, smacking kisses across his face.

“Ew! Get off of me! This is like incest!” Sirius screeched. 

Regulus rolled his eyes and turned to Remus. “Wanting a kiss from his actual brother is fine but his friend giving him a kiss is incest?”

“Stop trying to figure Sirius out, Reg, there’s no logic.” Remus countered with a smile. 

Remus was glad, really, that life turned out the way it had for him. He wasn’t always, mind you; having been thrown into the world of underground crime at an early age after his father, with hopes for a political career, accidentally offended a well-known crime lord in Southern UK. In retaliation, Remus had been abducted and initiated into their mob at only twelve years old and was only reunited with his father and mother at fifteen once his dad had turned to crime after the police claimed there was ‘nothing they could do’ to bring their son back home. 

Then, when he was 17, he met James and Sirius. They both came from money, and both had very different experiences as a result. James was somewhat spoilt but extremely loving and eager to spread the wealth. Sirius, on the other hand, had pushed back against his birth family as hard as he could before he finally left to stay with the Potter’s full time.

His younger brother, Reg, followed a few years later, and they’ve been with James and his parents ever since. James met Lily studying in University; Reg became enamoured with her just as quickly, though much more quietly than James had, and the rest, as they say, is history. 

The options for Remus’ family were slim to none after moving from Wales to London in order for him to attend school. University had not been in the plans for him as the Lupin family came from almost nothing, but they had earned enough in the mob to secure him a spot anyhow. They had hoped to leave the lifestyle behind them, but their resume was lacking after spending years in crime. Eventually, it was Remus’ mother, Hope Lupin, who found Effie which introduced Remus and his father into the Potter Agency.

A legal corporation with less than legal methods; they liked to believe they were some of the good guys.

The term ‘good’ is used lightly, of course.

There’s crime, theft, assault, torture, and sometimes even death, but they don’t do it for the money or notoriety – not really. 

Potter & Son’s Corporations acts as the authority when the police lose control of the situation. So much of the crime that takes place is through drugs and laundering – the kinds of things that the police are more than happy to turn a blind eye to so long as they’re being paid.

But when police are being paid off, other crimes – such as trafficking – start happening, and the police often find that their hands are “tied”. 

So, Potter & Son’s deal with it, and it helps.

At least that’s what Remus tells himself. 

He understood why Sirius and James stayed. Neither had a choice really, much like himself, but Sirius made the choice of the lesser of two evils – chaotic good (Potter's) versus chaotic evil (The Black family). As for James; this was his family business. He was Potter & Son before it became Son’s to accommodate Sirius, and later Reg and finally Remus. This was James’ legacy, and he now had a wife, a boyfriend and a son to continue protecting, and he did that by staying. 

Remus stayed because, well, it’s all there really is for him. Any background-check a potential employer could run on him would not only take him out of the running so fast, but they’d also likely even report him. His mom and dad had their part – running one of the many restaurants in the city that acted as the front for Potter & Son’s. 

But Remus wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

Not even the stranger – flustered, music theory, Disney quoting, sailor level swearing stranger that singlehandedly nearly killed him and then saved him within the span of two hours. 

She had been overwhelmingly distracting, and James was right; Remus was usually the one at attention always. He never got distracted on missions – that’s why he took the position in the bar to wait on the dirty fuck. James is overly friendly and likely to get distracted by any Tom, Dick or Nancy that walked through the door – and God forbid there’s a pub cat present. Sirius can’t stop flirting with anything with a heartbeat for more than a second, and he stands out a little too much anyway due to his last name.

Hence, Remus goes in.

Only to be utterly enchanted by a foreign PhD student whose nose was cold bitten red and her hair thoroughly crumpled from her obvious pulling. Remus tried to ignore her; he really did. He even thought he did a pretty good job when her damned pencil skirt rode up and exposed more of her tight-clad thighs as she sat on the barstool. He even ignored the way she played with her bottom lip between her thumb and index finger as she waited for the bartender to notice her.

But then she had to go and order a fucking negroni alongside a pint of beer. 

If she hadn’t looked like she tasted so sweet, Remus is sure he would have gagged outloud. 

And really, what is a proper Welsh bloke like him ought to do when he sees a crime against alcohol take place before his very eyes? By-stander he is not, good sir. 

But it didn’t matter. It had been too close. It was foolish. And dangerous. For both of them. 

He may not be able to save her from Gilderoy Lockhart, but he could save her from this. 

Regulus decided this was the perfect time to interrupt Remus’ inner ramblings. “So, when are you seeing her next?”

He stared at him dumbly. “Excuse me?”

“The girl, when are you seeing her next?” He clarified as he popped a cracker into his mouth.

“Come on, Moony, don’t tell me you didn’t close the deal!” Sirius commented from across the table.

“What? I- no. No, there was no deal to be closed, you prat.” Remus muttered for Sirius’ benefit. “It wasn’t like that.”

“‘It wasn’t like that’ he says, like he wasn’t wrapped around her little finger for two hours as she waxed poetic about the architecture of Manchester.” James sing songed.

“What” Remus sputtered, “she did not talk about Manchester architecture, James.”

“But you were wrapped around her finger?”

“Not that either!” He shouted. “Enough, it wasn’t like that, I’m not seeing her again. End of discussion.”

“Mm, kay, counter point: discussion not ended. What do you mean you’re not seeing her again?” Lily interjected. 

“I mean exactly that – I’m not seeing her again.”

“Rem,” Lily started softly, and he groaned knowing she was about to go all mama-bird on him. “When’s the last time you fancied someone like that? You’ve guffawed at everyone I’ve ever tried to set you up with.”

“Because they were all dull.” Remus muttered apparently not quietly enough as he was smacked up the back of his head.

“And you’ve never found yourself distracted on a job before. That has to mean something, right? Why not give it a shot?” She asked gently.

Remus chose to ignore the second part of her sentence altogether for the benefit of everyone. “Exactly, I’ve never been distracted on a job before. Something is clearly wrong with me, I think maybe we should all be a little bit more worried about that, hm?” 

Everyone rolled their eyes and turned back to their various tasks. For James, that meant holding a raspberry competition with his infant son, Reg and Sirius began rough housing which quickly turned into an actual knife fight, and Lily back to restocking the medicine cabinet. 

It was one job – I’m fine. I’ll likely never see her again. Remus thought to himself.

He tried not to let that thought upset him.

He failed.

Your encounter with The Man ™ as you’d started calling him in your head continued to bother you throughout the week. You thought you had been doing a pretty decent job keeping it from your thoughts: you guest lectured with no hiccups, your playing didn’t seem to be impacted and you kept up in orchestra well, and you even managed a facetime with your best friend Elle back home. 

Apparently zoning out in the middle of grading with your pen in your mouth was what finally gave you away.

“Miss. L/N?” Minerva called.

You quickly sat up straight. “Hm? I’m so sorry Professor, I-”

She waved you off with a kind smile. “My dear, I’ve told you to call me Minerva – as a PhD student, you’re more like my colleague than you are my student. I only meant to ask what has you so distracted. Are the first-year level quizzes on the basics of composition not riveting enough for you?” She asked gently, though her tone was often lost in her thick, stern sounding Scottish accent. 

“Sorry Pro- I mean, Minerva.” You caught yourself at her stern look. “I was just thinking that no one would know if I was missing.” 

Minerva dropped her pen and sat straight.

“My dear, what has you concerned. Has something-” she began to ask, but you cut her off.

“No, no. I’m fine, I just realized – if I go to a pub after school one day and something happens, no one will know to look for me. There’s no one at my apartment waiting for me at the end of the day, the landlord wouldn’t care until the end of the month when my rent was late, and even then, it’d be a while before she did anything about that. Students come and go from your life every day – if I wasn’t available to help grading or lecturing, you’d ask someone else. And that would be it. My friends back home would only realize I hadn’t been answering messages and would assume I’ve been busy.”

You looked up from the carpet where you had been zoned out. 

“And I don’t say any of that for sympathy. I just mean, well, someone ought to know – you know?”

Minerva considered your words before nodding slowly. 

“I’d notice. The second I had to settle for Mr. Lockhart’s subpar grading or lecturing.” 

You couldn’t help but chuckle at the matriarch. 

“Put me down as your emergency contact.” She added.

“I’m sorry?”

“With the school. And at your apartment. In your phone too if you can. Put me as your emergency contact. I’ll know then if anything happens.” She stated plainly as if she hadn’t just offered you an actual lifeline in Europe when you were thousands of kilometers from anyone who gave a damn about you.

“Thank you, Minerva.” You said softly.

The corner of her mouth quirked up, but she never moved her gaze from her papers.

“You’re very welcome, Y/N.” 

You sat in your apartment – or you supposed you should call it a flat, you were in England after all – and watched traffic outside of the window while you replayed your conversation with Elle.

“I’m just worried about you is all.” She said.

You rolled your eyes as you held the phone between your ear and shoulder and loaded the washing machine. 

“Why?”

“Why? Because! You’re all alone out there in a tiny apartment in a big city where you don’t know anyone!”

“Elle, I don’t see how that’s any different than what I had been doing last year. I did the exact same thing in New York, and you didn’t seem this concerned then.” You chided.

“Well-” she started. “Well, that was different.”

“How?”

“Because you were at least on the same continent as me. It was maybe a three-hour flight versus an eight. What else do you want me to say, Y/N?”

You sighed and threw your head back.

“I don’t want you to say anything Elle, I just don’t understand why we’re having this conversation.”

“It’s been almost six months.”

You stopped and stared at your reflection in the bathroom mirror. The six-month anniversary of your mom’s death was next week; you were well aware of that. It showed on your body, too, and you were glad Elle couldn’t see you now. You looked pale; your hair was dirty and piled messily on top of your head in a bun, though some locks were doing their damnedest to break free. Your clothes seemed to hang off your body in a way that hadn’t before as well; you made a mental note to figure that out at some point. 

“What about it?” You muttered, leaving the offending mirror behind you, and moving through your apartment (flat).

“Y/N/N, I just don’t think it’s healthy to be sitting in that apartment all alone. I mean, I know you haven’t been keeping in as much touch with the others, which is fair,” She emphasized the end as you began to defend yourself. “They don’t understand what it’s like to lose a parent or the intricacies of grad school, but still, it’s been noticed. And you haven’t dated since, what, Brian?”

“Brandon.” You corrected bitterly.

“Exactly, and how many years has that been?”

You moved your reading glasses to the top of your head and scrubbed your hand down your face. You loved Elle, you really did. But she was the kind of person to throw herself at life without self-reflection and that just wasn’t your style. She also lived by the motto that we were put on this earth to find our “other half”, and that all of lifes problems can be solved by finding someone to spend it with, which was another thing you just couldn’t get behind.

So, yes, it had been six years since your last relationship, and seeing as you weren’t the type to date around, you’d been single the entire time.

But you’ve been happy. 

You and your mom travelled a bit when she was still healthy. You attended Julliard to complete your master’s in music and spent time living in New York City. You played with the New York Philharmonic and in orchestra halls across North America. You went to the fucking Tony awards (as a seat filler, mind you, but still)!

“I just worry, Y/N. I mean, next thing I know, you’ll be telling me you’ve gotten yourself a cat or two!” She jested.

Your gaze shot to Huckleberry, the long-haired tom-cat you recently rescued from the local humane society, who was currently curled up on a throw blanket on your couch which you had yet to inform Elle about. You figured it could probably wait until your next chat with her.

“Don’t worry about me too much, Elle.” You sighed as you gave the feline a pat across the head.

“Someone has to.”

You fought the urge to groan – you knew she wasn’t trying, but this conversation was turning out to be more painful than you needed right now. The last thing you needed to be reminded of was how completely alone you were on this planet. If not for Elle and a few of your other mutual friends, you’d literally have Huckleberry and Minerva for company. And, God forbid, Gilderoy.

“I’ll talk to you later Elle.”

“Okay Y/N/N, be safe. Love you!”

“Love you.” You added before you hung up.

Part of you wondered if she was right about some things. Aren’t you meant to be meeting people? Making friends? That’s what people do when they relocate, right? 

You looked at your phone which sat on the couch behind you. It never lights up; no one’s looking for you. 

You didn’t much fancy downloading an app – it felt phony, like you were trying to sell yourself to someone. How else did people meet other people these days though?

School? Already there. Work?

Work.

I could get a job. 

You’ve been comfortable. Between funding from school and your mother’s life insurance, you hadn’t been too concerned for money though you had been living somewhat frugally. You supposed it wouldn’t hurt to have some pocket money, and maybe make a dent in your never-ending student loans. 

I'll get a job then. 

You’ve served at bars in Toronto and New York throughout school and worked as a waitress at different diners. Most people didn’t like working the service industry, but you didn’t much mind it; in cities that large, people are always in a hurry to get to somewhere else and don’t often stay long enough to really gather your interest. 

It’d be even better if I could find a job that involved music. 

Part of you still felt like an imposter. 

You’re working on your PhD, you studied music at Julliard, and played in world-renowned orchestras, but you still felt like you had no right holding a seat in the industry.

Fucking Gilderoy wasn’t helping that either. You thought darkly. 

“Right,” You told yourself aloud. “One thing at a time.”

And you looked up job opportunities online. 

The smell of garlic permeated Remus’ senses as he and Sirius stepped into his parent’s restaurant. 

Remus worked for a damn mob, yet somehow, his white-Welsh parents operating an Italian restaurant left him feeling dirty – though, his Da was always quick to state he was 37% Italian on his mother’s side, whatever that meant. 

He followed the sound of cursing and found his mum in her office. 

“Oi, mum, who has you so wound up? I want names and addresses.” Sirius said as he plopped himself down onto one of the chairs opposite of Hope Lupin’s desk and kicked his Doc Marten clad feet up onto it.

“Sirius, I love you, but it’ll be your name and address I give out if you don’t get your sodding feet of my desk.” Hope stated sweetly without looking up from the papers on her desk. “Hi, cariad’s.”

“Hey mum, what’re you working on?” Remus replied as he sat (properly) in the chair beside Sirius.

She sighed and turned to look at the two boys. “Well, you remember the issues we were having with our new hire last week?”

Sirius looked up from his phone at this. “Hot Stephanie?”

Hope rolled her eyes, “Yes, Stephanie. Well, we had to let her go.”

“Awe mum, I’m sorry. Do you need a hand around here until you find more help?” Remus asked quickly.

Hope turned a soft smile in her son’s direction, her green eyes crinkling in the corners. “As much as I’d love having you around, cariad, I’m still recovering from you and James helping out last summer.”

Remus grimaced while Sirius barked a laugh. He and James had their strengths – but working the service industry apparently wasn’t one of them. 

“Besides, I’ve got a few good candidates here I think.” She said and gestured to a pile of CVs on her desk. “This lass sounds promising.”

“Yes, mummykins! Hire another hottie for us.” Sirius cheered. 

“That’s enough out of you.” Hope chided as she swatted him with her stack of resumes. “She’s got plenty of experience in restaurants and bars, and she may even be able to offer live music for us!”

“That’s sweet of you Hope, giving jobs to starving artists.” Sirius said looking back at his phone. 

“She did look a little peaky.” Hope admitted, “But I’m sure that’s on account of her recent move. She’s American.” 

“What?” Remus snapped.

His mum hummed. “Yup, she went to Julliard, served as a bartender and server in Toronto and New York pubs. She should work out really well!”

“Let me see this.” Remus muttered, snatching the CV unceremoniously from my mother’s hands.

Y/N L/N. University of Toronto / The Julliard School / Royal College of Music. Guest lecturer, experience in classical and contemporary performance and composition, teacher’s assistant, bartender, and server. The names of the various restaurants and bars you worked at were listed but they blurred in his vision.

“What has gotten into you, cariad.” Hope gently chided as she took the CV back from his hands. 

“What did she look like?” Remus spat.

“Pardon me?” 

Remus described you; he described your skin tone – a match. Your eyes? A match. Your hair colour and length? A match. 

“Shorter?”

Hope rolled her eyes. “Not everyone can be as tall as you and your father, Remus.”

“Mum, answer the question.”

She scoffed. “Yes, I suppose she was a little short.”

“You can’t hire her.”

“Excuse me?” She asked incredulously.

“Oh my God.” Sirius finally interjected, taking the CV from Hope’s hands. “Is this The Girl?”

“The girl?” She asked.

Remus snatched the CV back out of Sirius’ hands and placed it back in the pile onto his mum’s desk. 

“Who’s The Girl?” Hope asked, but it was obvious she was asking Sirius. 

“Oh, you should have seen it, Mum. We were on a stake out for one of McCormick’s crew at The Drunken Sailor, and Remus got all caught up chatting this pretty little lady at the bar. He didn’t even notice-” 

“I didn’t even notice that the bloke had come in until he went to leave.” Remus interrupted, not wanting to worry his mum by telling her how close he came to dying.

“Right...” Sirius continued, squinting his eyes at Remus. “Anyways, looks like you found The Girl who distracted our darling Remus here.”

Hope’s gaze was full of mirth as she turned to look at her son.

“So, you meet my dream employee at a bar one night and don’t even introduce me?”

“Mum, it wasn’t like that.” Remus whined, thoroughly annoyed by this conversation.

“Fine, but I’m sorry cariad, she’s the only one who applied who was worth my time, in fact, she’s likely overqualified. I’m arranging an interview.” 

Remus sighed in defeat. So much for keeping her out of this mess.

Bus buddy - Jeff the killer x reader - oneshot

You weren't sure how this routine had started, but every night after your shift at work, you would get onto your usual bus, greet your usual driver, and sit across from your usual bus buddy. He wasn’t really your buddy but he had been there long enough to not be scary anymore.

When you first saw him, you had frozen for the entire trip back to your stop, unable to keep your eyes off him. he was very imposing, tall with long black hair peeking out from under his hood. Now you felt comfortable enough to sleep, just as you used to before his arrival, his knuckles knocking against your knee when your stop came up, you would thank him, yawning as you did, and hop off the bus.

Certain days are full of surprises. We knew it would be a good day right from the start, when both Kimi and Antonio leapt forward from their grid spots and straight into the top ten; but when Valtteri Bottas’s retirement triggered a Safety Car that bunched the pack up, we couldn’t imagine it would lead to the crazy final ten laps of the race we witnessed today.

On a day when the field was shaken up and the midfield came to the fore, we celebrate our team’s best result of the season. Kimi crossed the line in P5, one spot ahead of Antonio in P6: these positions were later amended to P4 and P5 due to a penalty to Lewis Hamilton. The 22 points we brought home were a huge reward for the countless hours of work, the relentless search for performance, the passion we displayed day in, day out, since the start of the season. The sweetest part, of course, was to bring not one but two cars in the points this far high in the results.

This is also a huge motivational boost. With one race left in the season, we head to Abu Dhabi conscious of the value of our work, aware of the steps forward we keep making. We know it will still take a lot of work to get where we want to be: but we know we are on the right way. And we also know that we, too, can spring a little surprise every now and then.

So I worked my shift for Black Friday today.

I work at GameStop (and have for a year now) and my shift was 5a-1:30p.

Somethings I’ve noticed on this joyous of all days.

Multiple people saw the “tap to pay” option and placed their card on the screen. Like just on it. Even after I said tap to pay is for apple/google pay you have to insert then card.

I was talking about how I wanted to get donuts for the team but the donut place in question was closed when I was going to get them and then a customer very intensely said I shouldn’t go to that donut place because it sucks and I should go to this other place and they didn’t seem to understand that my donut place is within walking distance of my house.

GameStop does not keep the actual disks of the games out of the floor, so it’s super gr8 when you walk out onto the floor to find a case (Kingdoms of Amalur (great fuckin game btw)) and open it to not only find a game in the case but the WRONG game (red dead redemption) in the case.

Charles Leclerc: The Light Of Ferrari Amid The Dark Night!

The 2019 Belgian Grand Prix was the 1010th FORMULA 1 race. But September 1, 2019, would be remembered for one big reason, not 1010. It was a Red-Letter day for Ferrari, not a silvery outing for Mercedes. It was a day where the horse was seen finally prancing having been severed by the lion on the race-track for several consecutive occasions.

Mercedes, until such time, had won eight successive races, with Red Bull halting their charge at Austria, immediately after which there began a ‘you -miss-I-hit’ series starting from Great Britain and ending at Hungary wherein the two teams took turns to win. But Mercedes held the upper hand even in that mini-battle losing to Red Bull only once in Germany.

At all this time, the sport’s arguably most famous outfit watched from the sidelines, as if having been drugged or rendered powerless. Never before the woes of Ferrari fans seemed as abundantly clear as in the first half of the 2019 season where they went winless in all twelve rounds.

But when Charles Leclerc blitzed around the sport’s most famous racing venue at a lap time of 1:42:519, you felt that the dark clouds confronting Ferrari were finally making way for light. Anything could’ve happened the following day but for now, you felt, being in August company, Charles taking a dominant career pole right on the last day of the month.

One day later, he’d hold off Lewis Hamilton-Ferrari basher, Mercedes Master, undaunted achiever, now set for a seventh driver title- to collect the first win of his career.

On Sunday, as he encountered and bettered ‘Hammertime’ in a liberating experience of sheer race-pace, there stood no chance of Mercedes in front of a Ferrari that was flying, and finally.

Statistically-speaking, the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix earned Ferrari a collective of 38 points, Vettel‘s P4+ Fastest Lap earning him 13 in comparison to his young teammate’s 25. But factually speaking, the outcome at the dazzling Spa-Francorchamps truly presented the world a fighter, not some rookie from Sauber (now Alfa Romeo) whose first big news headlines in Formula 1 was when he was confirmed to replace Ferrari’s last world champion, Kimi Raikkonen.

Not that Leclerc’s big moment was some flash-in-the-pan occurrence.

He would win the very next event, this one even bigger than the former, crossing the start/finish line in front of 200,000 attendees at the Italian Grand Prix. Amid herds of fans were the Tifosi, whose bloodshot eyes that had seen more frustration than relief in 2019, was finally witnessing the rise of a young force.

His victory, a pain relief balm of sorts that eased up all that pent-up angst, truth be told.

Then that this was Ferrari‘s first home win since 2010 made Charles Leclerc victory even more special. But truth be told, in order to understand the young man at the Scuderia, and to take stock of his true spirit, you’d have to visit what the Monegasque endured twelve races before, over half a year back in time, before he came to experience the divinity of victory from the top step of the podium.

Because no great thing was ever achieved before heartbreak; the antecedent that often comes across with painful lessons, only so one can relish the true meaning of victory.

In March 2019, Charles Leclerc became the 99th FORMULA 1 driver to take pole, the first of his career, the venue being the Bahrain Grand Prix. Amid massive expectations of seeing sparks flying, hopefully from the simmering red Ferrari, what Sakhir actually had in store was anything one would’ve guessed, not in the least, Charles Leclerc.

Not only did Charles lose the race-lead to his teammate, Sebastian Vettel, but he was also left to fend against an attacking duo of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

In a sport known for its changing vagaries, this was a real-life exhibition of one albeit at electrifying speeds that Leclerc simply had no control over. But on the big night where he was expected to win, his terribly taxing run in that SF 90 saw him slip from being the track leader into being a tiny ping-pong ball waiting to be booted by the two Mercedes.

You can counter one driver, but how do you contest with a trinity? Within seconds from the start, the shiny pole-sitter was struggling for grip everywhere.

Having gone down into third, he’d soon make the most of Bottas locking up and would lunge ahead to take second, now trailing Vettel, the race-leader.

Soon, the four-time world champion would see Leclerc snatch what was his from the start. Needless to say, this was another big moment that would soon turn into a disaster and inarguably speaking, Charles’ greatest mishap of the evening for no fault of his own.

Right when it seemed Leclerc had done the damage control and was going to script his maiden win, he suffered a mechanical malfunction, his team reporting, “no H-recovery,” over the radio.

Charles had exclaimed, “there’s something strange with the engine,” moments ago.

It soon went from being a Ferrari 1-2 into a Mercedes 1-2.

But that is where Charles demonstrated grace under pressure, defending brilliantly his third until the end, a position he was not willing to concede. Not even as further trouble arrived with Max Verstappen hunting down the Ferrari driver in the closing stages.

There were 9 more laps to go, the Ferrari limping, the gap to Bottas, in second over 30 seconds. Could anything have been worse?

But amid heartbreak, as he drove past the checkered flag to collect his maiden podium in FORMULA 1, not his maiden race-win, a thought went out to how he conducted himself in the post-race presentation:

“Sometimes it’s just not your day and today was not ours. They gave me an amazing car all weekend long. But we come back stronger.”

And this, this final line explains us why Charles Leclerc is so highly rated, why his is the heart of a champion; one who is yet to become one and shall soon- hopefully- win having already shown he can contest just about anyone.

There’s , therefore, less of a surprise and more of gladness to see that in the exact same car in the same season where a mighty fine world champion driver Sebastian Vettel is struggling, Charles is holding Ferrari’s fort.

His 63 points to Vettel’s 17 suggesting why the current blue-eyed Ferrari boy is already their go-to man. Someone who has already tasted both victory and defeat, and at a time where the hopes are dwindling for a team that once gave so many plenty of it.

And maybe that is why at a time where the future of the sport seems promising- in that there’s Max, with Lando, George, Albon, and Pierre rising- even as FORMULA 1 faces an existential challenge to reinvent itself, Leclerc’s presence adds more excitement than ever.

And with that, it raises newfound reason to hope that the ailing team confronting many a dark night- having lost to Mercedes in every single season of the turbo-hybrid era- may finally have found the one ready to take up the fight!

my anime boston recap

i told a few people i’d write this, so here. warning, it’s long as fuck.

rebecca black - friday

while waiting for artists’ alley to open, i sat in a corner and watched people go by and saw a group cosplaying the main characters from the extremely underrecognized game the arcana, which was awesome and i totally would have asked for a picture but i’m way too shy. even though i’ve asked cosplayers for pictures before but i seem to have regressed in that sense...

i also saw (and this happened throughout the con) a bunch of hot, fit, really thin girls, which made me feel gay (as expected) but also really envious and sad and insecure about my body. cause i wish i looked more like them.

i also saw two girls cosplaying snow halation!honoka and kotori from love live, and the honoka had a giant honk nesoberi that i totally envy, and then right afterward a hate na heartbeat!eli and nozomi came around the corner and they were the coolest. i wish i’d had the guts to ask them for a picture too.

finally i went to artists’ alley and i got to buy a print from one of my favorite persona 5 fan artists but unfortunately she didn’t have the postcard set i wanted to buy. BUT right across was another fan artist whose stuff i really like so i bought a BUNCH of her prints - one of each of the p5 girls for me, and an extra makoto for my friend - and she came over to thank me and we chatted a little and it was nice. i am fucking determined to befriend some of these people and now at least one of them knows who i am.

i went to a panel on “fandom as coping” presented by a social worker which was really cool. she talked about how even though she’s a social worker, she still went through a severely suicidal period this past year and survived because of yuri on ice. i left partway through because then she turned it over to the audience to share our stories and i didn’t need to hear from a bunch of people talking about bad things that had happened to them.

the next thing i went to, after hanging around the vendors for a while, was tara platt’s (mitsuru and elizabeth from persona 3) q&a. she was really cool, and i actually managed to ask her a question, which was which one she preferred. (she said she can’t choose a favorite, but had more fun with elizabeth.)

i went to a presentation by sunrise, the studio that made love live among other things, but it was boring and i left early again because they were talking about gundam and other action stuff i don’t care about.

i’d planned on going to johnny yong bosch’s (makoto from free, kitamura from toradora, yu and adachi from p4) q&a, but it had a hella long line and it was obvious i wasn’t going to get in since the room wasn’t going to accommodate that many people. so i went over to a panel greg ayres (kaoru from ouran, nagisa from free, monokuma from the danganronpa anime) was doing on “it gets better.” come to find out he is openly bi! and is good friends with his ex who’s a trans woman and confronted her family about misgendering her! he is my new fav ngl and a far cry from hikaru’s va whom i met at tora-con a few years ago and was kind of an ego. it was a conversation sort of panel and we talked about a lot of stuff around queerness and bullying. i had to leave that one early too, but wished i could have stayed for the whole thing. also, there was a girl across the aisle from me who mentioned she was trans, and at one point i happened to catch her looking at me, and i think she was checking me out! sadly, i did not run into her again.

the reason i had to leave early was to get johnny’s autograph. he was really cool and i totes wish i could’ve gone to his q&a. since i don’t actually have any free! or toradora! or p4 merch, i had him sign my p3/p5 dancing game since it did at least come with p4 dancing as a free download. he took his daughter with him to the con which i find adorable though i have to wonder how bored she was sitting there for an hour and a half while he signed autographs.

katy perry - last friday night

at this point, i had a couple hours to kill, so i walked out to newbury comics in the hopes they’d have the bananarama vinyl reissues from the british record store day. they didn’t (though weirdly they did have the shakespears sister one), but they had kacey musgraves’ golden hour on sale, and i’ve been waffling on buying that for ages, so i finally snapped it up. then i went back to the mall where the con (sort of) was and got some godiva ice cream, which was even more overpriced than you’d expect but still very good.

so my last agenda item for the day was yuri lowenthal’s (makoto/minato from p3, yosuke from p4) q&a, which tara crashed because they’re married, which i love because it means that mitsuru is irl the canon waifu. once again i managed to ask a question, which was which p3 girl he’d like to have minato end up with, which made everyone laugh, and of course he said “i want to preserve my marriage, so either mitsuru or elizabeth.”

then i went home and felt like death.

i took an uber to the con for saturday because the T was being replaced with a shuttle bus and i decided i’d rather pay $17 each way for a 15-minute trip than $2.50 each way for a 90-minute trip.

i went to a panel on “idols in anime” that was kind of interesting but i didn’t take much away from it, other than that i should maybe watch revue starlight. but then i went to a panel on “diversity in the magical girl genre” that was really cool. it was hosted by a queer latina woman and she talked about racial, gender, sexual, and ability diversity. it was interesting because she has a very negative view of yuuki yuuna, which i can certainly understand but don’t really share. but it was a great panel and i feel like i learned a lot. one neat idea she had was that what comes across as queerbaiting (or whatever-baiting) to western audiences can be really progressive representation in japan, and vice versa.

after that i went to another panel on “magical girl fashion” and literally got up and left because i couldn’t stand how wrong the presenter was.

i’d missed out both days on the free autograph passes for yuri and tara, so i went to their paid session, which to make a long story short was an absolute fucking disaster, and i ended up making a complaint, during which i cried in front of the con’s assistant director. so there’s something i can check off my bucket list. i also met the director, who came over to reassure me they were fixing things and said, “i keep saying i need a machete to take off people’s heads this year.” so obviously i immediately liked her! in the end, i did get their autographs (on the same p3d/p5d game) for fifty fucking dollars... i’d been expecting more like thirty. and they didn’t even personalize them. sad trombone noise. they were nice though.

then i rushed over to the free autographs and saw kara edwards (chihiro in the danganronpa anime) and had her autograph a wall scroll i’d bought from a vendor. i wish i could’ve gone to her q&a because she seemed sweet.

and right after THAT, i got in line for tara sands (a bunch of pokemon) and had her sign a manga volume i bought for my friend. she was also awesome and i really wish i could have gone to her q&a because we had this exchange:

me: this is for my friend who’s a huge bulbasaur fan

sands: oh, you’re such a good friend!

me: i know. and i won’t let them forget it.

sands: [laughs] that’s good! keep it up, i like your style!

i then went to greg’s q&a, which was fun. he mentioned that while recording the audio commentary for ouran, caitlin glass (haruhi) and todd haberkorn (hikaru) got really uncomfortable during one of the twincest scenes and started talking about anything else they could so they wouldn’t have to talk about the twincest, and in the commentary you can just hear greg laugh a little because he’d made himself laugh by thinking of saying “i just think it’s hot” but kept himself from saying it out loud. the hero we deserve tbh.

whigfield - saturday night (i actually don’t like that song btw)

at this point, it was time for the 18+ panels to start, so i went to one where yuri, tara platt, lisa ortiz (idk her), and billy kametz (same) did in-character readings of various scripts. they did a couple of star wars ones which obviously did nothing for me, except that tara did bb-8 in a christopher walken voice, which was fucking hysterical. the other one i remember was lisa doing a southern belle voice narrating the notebook, with yuri as sasuke (i think) as noah, and billy as lelouch (?) as ally. but the best one, of course, was the last one, which was the iocane powder scene from the princess bride, performed by yuri as spider-cop (iirc) as the sicilian and tara as elizabeth as westley. it was AMAZING.

then i went to greg’s 18+ panel where he recounted risqué stories like when his mom wanted to watch an anime where his character has anal sex. i remember it being hilarious but unfortunately don’t remember any specifics other than him affectionately calling his lawyer the C-word and a story about beating up an asshat in the o’hare airport after asshat broke a jigglypuff ornament his friend made him.

so having stayed out past 11:30 for greg’s panel the night before, and forgetting to take melatonin before bed... i actually couldn’t wake up sunday morning so didn’t end up going back to the con at all. which was really sad and disappointing as it meant i missed getting greg’s autograph, a panel on autism in anime fandom, and the voice actor roundtable panel, all of which i really wanted. so after finally getting up at 2:30pm i spent the rest of the day super depressed and mad at myself and just sad and disappointed.

#dreams of an impossible princess

In my previous P5 Hogwarts AU posts (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, plus @kazusakai ‘s fic are linked), I hinted at a plot so here’s some general upper-year plot developments (Spoilers for P5).

-          During Akira’s first year at Hogwarts, there was a series of murders and kidnappings happening at the school, enough so cause enough of an uproar among the parents of the student body. The perpetrator was later revealed (through the unsolicited and also unauthorized investigations done by the P4 cast) to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor: Adachi Tohru, a former Auror who later confessed his motives for the murders were not just driven by his hatred of women and anyone who opposed him, but also his need to become a “Dark Lord so powerful, [he] could be a god.” He would later be arrested and thrown into Azkaban for his crimes.

-          Akira would not think much about those kinds of developments again until his sixth year, when the plot, where he was concerned, would thicken.

-          In Akira’s sixth year a lot of developments were happening for everyone

-          On a general scale in the magic world, there was a resurgence of Anti-Muggle sentiments among the wizarding community, especially among a great percentage of the Pureblood population, which also helped tie into the rise of a dark wizard named Yaldabaoth, a tyrannical wizard who seemed hell-bent on destruction and was willing to take full advantage of whatever it took to gain the favor of as many magic-users as possible to rise to power.

-          On a personal scale, Akira had recently been put on trial for using magic outside of Hogwarts and in the presence of a muggle. The context for that being that he had stopped a pureblood wizard (later revealed as Shido) who had been torturing an innocent defenseless muggle woman with the cruciatus curse.

-          Futaba recently learned her mother had been killed over the summer (by none other than Goro, she would MUCH LATER learn) and as a result, when she returned to Hogwarts, she started to withdraw from the world and hide out in her dorm room. Whenever she HAD to leave said room, she’d always wear a grotesque mask to hide her face.

-          After successfully perfecting how to paint a moving, talking portrait the previous year, Yusuke finally broke free and moved away from the shadow of Madarame’s influence; cutting his hair (which had been previously kept long) and moving out from Madarame’s home to start his own business of being a portrait-maker for anyone who paid, especially when Madarame was later arrested for art theft.

-          Ryuji meanwhile was well on his way to becoming the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team, especially after all of his prowess as a chaser (and ace flier) for the team.

-          Ann was dealing with the fact that after watching her best friend Shiho spend years coping with the trauma that resulted from Kamoshida’s sexual abuse, Shiho’s mother decided to move her and their entire family back to Japan to live with the rest of her extended family and enroll her in Mahoutokoro, which although Ann was happy Shiho was going to have a bigger support system and that she’ll always keep in touch with her, was still sad that her best friend had to leave.

-          Two years prior, Haru had finally broken free of her arranged marriage engagement to her fiance after he graduated from Hogwarts so now she was finally coming to terms with and learning how to live a life of freedom from such a controlling person while still dealing with the general scorn that came from the pureblood community for turning down a marriage into what was one of the most prestigious pureblood families in all of Britain (And she ended up dealing with no small share of anti-Japanese racism as well as insults made to her French childhood upbringing). How Do We Enter the Kingdom of God, Be Born Again, Converted or Spiritually Awakened?

Spiritual awakening/enlightenment/mysticism, to me are also known as conversion, spiritual rebirth or spiritual transformation and is the ultimate goal of any religion. Conversion literally means to turn around.  It is the positive result of an identity crisis. Spiritual awakening/rebirth or conversion is both an event and a lifelong journey of discovery.  The conversion events are baptism by water, Spirit, and blood-a mighty change of heart.

The conversion journey is the lifelong daily process of coming to know and become like God and divine self by developing a personal relationship with God daily by sincerely and persistently conversing with God in prayer and scripture study. Then it includes following the thoughts and feelings God sends us daily by his Spirit like ideas of how to serve others and be more loving.

I like how Elder Bednar, an apostle today of Jesus Christ, compares the whole process of becoming born again to the steps required to make a pickle. "Through faith in Christ, we can be spiritually prepared and cleansed from sin, immersed in and saturated with His gospel, and purified and sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise—even born again."

How God taught Adam and Eve his plan of salvation, how to become born again

To put it simply, God taught our first parents Adam and Eve in Moses 6:

"59 That by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death, and inasmuch as ye were born into the world by water, and blood, and the spirit, which I have made, and so became of dust a living soul, even so ye must be born again into the kingdom of heaven, of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten; that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in this world, and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal glory.

Wow. What a beautiful story of conversion! I can think of no better teacher than God himself to Adam and each of us by his Spirit.

Another way of describing gospel principles is this: "We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Here are 3 main parts I have learned of spiritual awakening/ conversion/rebirth from my experience 

1. Personal relationship/revelation

Just before He suffered for us in Gethsemane during His intercessory prayer, Jesus said "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/17?lang=eng Therefore, perhaps the most important part of spiritual awakening/rebirth and purification is the lifelong personal relationship building with God, getting to know God by conversing with God in mighty prayer & scripture study daily to build our faith in Christ for repentance and purification.

I think I first started really seeking that personal relationship with God when I was about 14 when my parents weren't able to take care of me because of divorce and my mom's mental breakdown. It's interesting how difficult times turn out to be positive because they turn our hearts to God. At that time I started reading the scriptures every day, specifically the Book of Mormon because someone recommended that to me to help me get through a difficult time. The Book of Mormon brought me peace, love, comfort, and joy like no other book could.

The seed of faith from reading the Book of Mormon grows up into a tree of eternal life, whose fruit is sweetest above all, full of grace, truth, love, joy, and peace to each of us personally. See Alma 32: 27-43

Oh, the joy and beauty of Repentance! Repentance literally means a change of mind. With our free will we decide to sacrifice or give up the desire for a particular sin or sins. We plead to God for forgiveness, confess our sin to anyone else we may have offended and do our best to stop doing that sin. As we consciously decide to sacrifice sin(s) to know God, God can forgive our sin and purify and change our heart, which literally transforms our sinful desires into righteous desires.

And how joyful and beautiful is receiving forgiveness! It is the peace we feel when we are able to let go of our sins and embrace God's love. When I was 19 headed on a mission to share the gospel of faith, repentance, and baptism I remember not feeling worthy to teach because of my past sins, even though I tried hard to repent. Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is ourself.

Then I stumbled upon this verse: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 8:12

That verse brought tears to my eyes; I was so happy and relieved because I knew at that moment, God was speaking sweet mercy and peace to me directly, through his Spirit from reading the scriptures.

Atonement is literally at-one-ment, meaning we make a conscious decision to sacrifice our fallen nature's will to sin and then embrace God's and our divine nature's will to do good and right. Our will, desires, and needs for us become God's will, desires and needs for us and his will for us becomes ours. We become one in mind and heart with God and each other because we become pure in heart. God is intimately aware of our hopes, fears, and dreams and has a special calling and plan for each of us personally to use our talents, dreams and experience to do good in this world.

And we can find out God's will for us each day. President Russell M. Nelson of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints said in April 2018:

"Follow the example of the Prophet Joseph. Find a quiet place where you can regularly go. Humble yourself before God. Pour out your heart to your Heavenly Father. Turn to Him for answers and for comfort.

Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will “grow into the principle of revelation.”

My question is, shouldn't they have completely sanded down the areas of the car that needed to be repainted instead of just painting over the paint nicks? Sam was kneeling next to the unconscious man lying on his back on the Gate-room floor, not very gently slapping his face. "Sir, can you hear me?"

There was no reply and she got up and pointed at her CO. "Well, playing around like that with a zat-gun is like begging for trouble! Geez, Jack. He'll have us deported to P4S-839, or some equally disgusting place, the minute he wakes up!" "How about I just hit him again - twice?" "Jack!" "Alright, alright - but it WAS an accident!" She shook her head. "Are you going to call the infirmary, or should I?" He walked over to the phone on the wall, put the weapon in one of his numerous pockets and dialed the infirmary. The man on the floor stirred and groaned, and Sam kneeled down beside him again. "Are you all right, Sir?" "Major Carter? What the Hell just happened?" The senator rolled over and tried to sit up, but ended up flat on his stomach instead. "Ouch." Hammond echoed, then his eyes widened and he asked, terror in his voice, "...how many times?" Jack cringed, "Oh, just once. He'll be just fine. He's in the infirmary now with Dr. Fraiser and Carter, no doubt planning my court-martial to the last detail." "Then I suggest you get back there and do some serious groveling before he decides to send your ass to P4S-839" with no GDO. Or before I send you there myself." "Yes, Sir." Jack grimaced and bolted for the door. "Colonel..." Jack stopped half way through the room. "Dang it!" he thought, "I almost made it." He turned around slowly. "Yes, Sir...?" "On second thought I'll come with you, Colonel. I have a few ideas I'd like to share with the senator." --- Part two The SGC infirmary Dr. Fraiser had just explained, very patiently, for the n'th time, to the still stunned, and extremely noisy senator, that he would recover completely from the shock, and that she had never heard of anyone dying from a single blast. She was about ready to give him a mild sedative just to shut him up (or perhaps a not so mild laxative to get rid of him instead - ah, decisions, decisions...), when O'Neill and Hammond entered the room. The look on Hammond's face was quite easy to decipher, and Jack looked like he'd been lead by his ear from the general's office. "Poor Jack," she thought. "Why didn't he just zat the guy a couple more times... I'd have been home with Cassandra by now!" She sighed and began walking towards them, "General, Colonel... I take it you're here to see the senator?" "How is he?" The general's expression changed from annoyed to concerned. "Oh, he's fine. There"s nothing wrong with him... physically." she threw a fierce glance in the direction of her only patient. Then she smiled, "In fact, I was just about to release him." "Thank you, Dr. Fraiser." Hammond nodded, his relief obvious. Then he turned to Jack; "Well, Colonel?" Jack raised his hands, "I know" "Get groveling". Don't worry, I'll grovel, I'll beg, I'll even kiss and make up if that's what he wants." The Doc raised her eyebrow again and Jack had another vision of Teal'c. "Sweet. If I didn't know better I'd say it was contagious." He walked across the room, pulled up a chair, and sat down next to the senator, who was none too happy to see him... "Senator." "Colonel." "Listen, it really WAS an accident! I had no idea you were entering through that door, and I really didn't mean for the zat to go off..." The senator waved him off, "Of course you didn't. Don't worry about it. Accidents do happen, and according to the good doctor, I"ll be just fine." The speech was followed by a broad smile that made Kinsey's dentures slip. With a smacking sound he sucked them back in place. Jack just sat there staring at him, mouth still open. He slowly raised one eyebrow, Teal'c style. He felt a sudden urge to ask the senator who he was and what he'd done with Kinsey, but managed to close his mouth before the words came out. He cleared his throat. "Are you sure about this, Sir?" "Absolutely. Like I said, don't worry about it." "Well, thank you, Sir." Jack couldn't have been more surprised if Sam had jumped up from the nearest bedpan, wearing something out of Anise's closet and doing the Snoopy-dance on the senator's bed. "I suppose you need to rest. I'll leave you alone now... and again, I apologize..." He got up, put the chair back where he found it and returned to where Hammond and Dr. Fraiser were waiting. The general prompted him, "How did it go, Colonel?" "Oh, I apologized, he accepted. No problem, General." Hammond stared blankly at the colonel, before slowly raising one eyebrow. "Oh my God. It IS spreading!" Jack thought. "I better talk to the senator myself!" Hammond said and started walking towards the bed where Kinsey now had turned his back to them. They could hear a soft snoring sound. "Um... He's resting, Sir." The general turned to Janet. "Can you keep him here till morning? I'd really like to talk to him before he leaves." "Yes, Sir. My shift was over two hours ago, but I'll let the night nurse know you want to see the patient before he's released." "Thank you, Doctor." Hammond turned around and left the infirmary. Jack followed two steps behind, still wondering about the personality change the senator seemed to have undergone since their last encounter. "Perhaps Janet slipped and screwed up his medication? Or maybe the zat could have affected the metal plate in his head?" He shook his head. At least he didn't end up with a one-way ticket to the universe's largest garbage dump... --- Twenty minutes later Dr. Fraiser had left the night nurse in charge of the infirmary, and was on her way home. The night nurse was in the linen closet, entertaining the new, cute lieutenant. Jack was in his bunk, on top of the covers, fully dressed and sound asleep. And, Senator Kinsey was in his hospital bed, very much awake, and reading a book by the light of his glowing eyes. --- Part three The next morning, Daniel's office "You must be kidding me!" Daniel laughed. "You zatted Senator Kinsey? Seriously?" He removed his glasses and dried tears of laughter from his eyes. "I don't believe you! If you really had zatted the senator you'd be on P4S-839 now, building your new home out of cardboard boxes and empty cans." his voice trailed off. "Oh my God! How many times did you hit him?" "Just once! He's fine. And that's what I thought too..." Jack nodded. "Listen Daniel, something is wrong. Really wrong. I just can't put my finger on it." "There is a problem?" Teal'c came through the door, grabbed the TV Guide from Daniel's desk and let himself fall into the dusty armchair next to the wooden table thingy that was a gift from one of the kids on Abydos. "Oh no! That termite-ridden thing is still here? Half the base must be infested by those hungry critters by now." Jack rolled his eyes and sighed silently. "Well?" Teal'c tried again. "Well what?" "Is there a problem?" Teal'c repeated. Daniel explained; "Jack zatted senator Kinsey last night." Then he cracked up again. Teal'c raised one eyebrow and stared at Jack. "You fired a zat'nik'tel at the senator? How many times?" "Just once. Why does everyone keep asking me that? And it was an accident!" "Of course, O'Neill. You would never purposely have subjected the senator to such excruciating pain..." In the background Daniel let out another loud burst of laughter. Teal'c continued. "How did this accident happen, O'Neill"" "Carter and I were target practicing in the Gate room..." Daniel stopped laughing and he and Teal'c simultaneously raised their right eyebrows. "Scary!" Jack thought. "I have to talk to Janet about this!" "We were shooting at those dang grasshoppers the two of you brought back from EMT-911 last week, all right!?!" "You use zat-guns for that?" Daniel asked unbelievingly. "Saves us the trouble of sweeping them up afterwards..." Jack explained. "Oh..." "I see..." "Anyway, I guess I got a little too excited, and when the doors suddenly opened and the senator walked in the zat-gun sort of just went off." "Right." "These things are known to happen, O'Neill." Jack wanted to strangle them both and spent a few seconds considering his options. Knowing the chance of escape was too slim for comfort he decided to get his revenge at a later time. "Seriously. I'm not kidding, guys! Something is terribly wrong here." He continued to explain what had happened in the infirmary. Daniel finally quit laughing and sat down behind his desk. "You're right, Jack. It's not like Kinsey to forgive someone for something like that. Especially not you." Jack leaned against the wall and let himself slide down until he was sitting on his heels. He closed his eyes and let his head back against the wall. "I know." His eyes opened again and he looked at his friends. "At first I thought it was the shock, but we've never seen that happen before. And then I thought perhaps Dr. Fraiser had put him on some weird medication or something... and then I thought he might have been taken over by a Goa'uld, but Carter touched him in the Gate-room, and she didn't sense anything." Teal'c offered dryly; "I stopped by the infirmary before coming here, and if that single patient in the back of the room is the senator, then Samantha Carter wouldn't have sensed it if he'd been taken over by Apophis himself." He explained; "That after-shave he is wearing kills all of ones senses. I could smell it in the hallway long before I reached the infirmary. And the door was closed." Daniel, who had been removing his shoes and socks, dug in his desk drawer and finally came up with a nail clipper... "Where would the senator have encountered a Goa'uld?" Jack and Teal'c watched in silence as Daniel placed one foot on his desk and turned his attention back to his toenails. Soon crescent-shaped nail clippings were flying through the air. Jack swallowed. "Let's finish this conversation later," he said and got up. "I need some fresh air." Teal'c beat him through the door by almost two seconds. --- Part four

The SGC infirmary When Dr. Janet Fraiser arrived at the infirmary later that morning the night nurse appeared to have gone AWOL. Luckily the only patient, the senator, was still asleep and seemed to be in good shape. After checking the linen closet for sleeping beauties, Janet reported her nurse missing and turned on her computer. Soon she was lost in the fantasy world of "Fallout", her new computer game. "Weird," she thought. "That mayor, Killian, reminds me of someone I know, I just can't place him... Oh well, it'll come to me." At the same time SG-1 reported to general Hammond in his office, where they gathered around the conference table. Hammond had spent several sleepless hours wondering why Kinsey had let Jack off the hook so easily, and Jack had little trouble convincing him it would be a good idea to let Sam do a "Goa'uld-check" on the good senator. "I highly doubt the senator could have been taken over by a Goa'uld, Colonel. As far as I know he has never been close enough to one for that to be possible." "I know that, Sir. But since we can't be sure Mayborne never introduced him to one, I still think it would be the wise thing to do. Besides, I'm sure that man has been places and done stuff we don't even want to hear about." Jack suddenly had a vision of Kinsey as the President of the United States, addressing the people from a huge hanging screen, speaking with a Goa'uld voice... He shuddered. "Yeah, like THAT would ever happen! Doh!" "Major Carter?" Hammond looked at Sam who had been unusually quiet. "I agree, Sir. With that amount of Old-Spice after-shave he was wearing when I checked his pulse yesterday I wouldn't have noticed if Apophis himself had moved to a new apartment." "This is the case, General Hammond." Teal'c added. The general nodded. "Well, it can't hurt to make sure. Let's go see Dr. Fraiser." --- Dr. Fraiser had been playing for almost an hour when the senator woke up, got out of bed and went to the bathroom. She saved the game and switched the computer off. Seconds later SG-1 arrived accompanied by General Hammond. Jack immediately noticed the empty bed and asked her where the senator was. Janet frowned. "He's in the bathroom. He just woke up a few minutes ago." She nodded towards the door, and now they recognized the sound of the shower running in there. "Teal'c..." The Jaffa needed no further instructions. He walked across the room and took position just outside the bathroom door. Jack looked at Janet, expecting her to raise one eyebrow, but she raised them both. "What's going on, Colonel?" It was Hammond who answered. "I'm afraid we're not absolutely sure the senator is just the senator, doctor, so we're going to let Major Carter do a check on him. It's really just a precaution, since there really is no way we can think of that he could have come in contact with a Goa'uld." "Unless of course he"s been one from the very beginning..." Daniel muttered to himself. Five minutes later the shower was turned off, and another two minutes after that the senator exited the bathroom. He was drying his hair and did not watch his step. Suddenly he found himself sprawling on the floor after tripping over Teal'c"s staff-weapon. "What on Earth is going on here?" He looked up and discovered Jack. "Oh, it's you... I should have known you'd try your best to have me end up on a stretcher - again." "Are you hurt, Sir?" Janet was trying to help Kinsey stand up, but he brushed her off and completed the task alone. "I'm fine. So, General, what's going on?" Hammond led the senator to his bed. "Oh, it's just a routine check. We want to make sure you haven't been infected by any microscopic aliens during your stay here." Kinsey raised one eyebrow and just stared at Hammond as if he thought the general hade gone nuts. Reaching out for his toiletries he knocked the small bag over, and a silver ball, just a little smaller than a baseball fell out of it and rolled under the bed. "What's that?" Kinsey asked. "It's not yours?" Jack had already identified the ball and was now half way under the bed to get it. All one could see of him was his butt. Sam and Janet simultaneously raised their right eyebrows... "Mmmm... looks like the colonel has been working out." He got hold of the ball, backed out and stood up. "Geez. What's wrong with the major and Doc? They look like they're" drooling!" He shook his head and turned his attention back to Kinsey. "This, Senator..." he held the ball up "...is a Goa'uld cell phone, also known as a long range communication device. What I'd really like to know is why it came rolling out from your toilet-bag?" The senator stared blankly at him. "I've never seen it before!" General Hammond interrupted the staring contest. "Well Senator, I'm afraid you'll have to stay here on base until we get to the bottom of this." then he turned to Sam. "Major. I guess now is a good time to do your thing. Let's find out if the senator is clean." The senator snorted. "I damn well should be. I just got out of the shower." She walked up to them and raised one hand to put it on Kinsey's chest. Before she could get that far his eyes began to glow, he grabbed her around the neck, and the next second she found herself being used as a shield between the unknown Goa'uld and her friends who all seemed to have frozen in their positions. Finally Hammond sounded the alarm and called for security. --- Part five Hammond, Doc. Fraiser and the three male members of SG-1 could only watch as the Goa'uld backed away from the bed, still holding Sam in front of him as a human shield. When he had his back to the wall he picked up a scalpel that had been left on top of a defibrillator, and pressed the razor sharp blade against Sam's throat. "Tau'ri." The Goa'uld spitted. "You think you are so smart. You are nothing but slaves! Kneel before your God!" "For crying out loud!" Jack groaned. "How did I know he was gonna say that" "They always say that." Daniel replied dryly. "So, who are you?" "I am Macarena. Now, kneel before your God!!!" The Earthlings exchanged puzzled glances, and Jack turned around and mimed to Daniel; "Macarena!?!", but Teal'c didn't even raise an eyebrow. "Macarena? I have never heard of a Goa'uld by that name." "You will learn to fear it, shol'va! But, I did go by a different name. I changed it only because of a chant that I have heard many times. One that seems to have become stuck in my head." Now Teal"c raised his eyebrow, but the other people in the room nodded in understanding. Suddenly there was a lot of noise coming from the hall and forty-five soldiers came running into the infirmary, armed to their teeth. They took their positions and aimed their nice and shiny MP-90's at the Goa'uld and his hostage. "Don't shoot!" Jack and Hammond shouted, and waved their hands in the air. "Tau'ri, this is your last chance. I am not saying it again! Kneel before your God or suffer the consequences!" Sam croaked; "Hey, I'll kneel. Just let go of my neck, will you." Jack turned and faced his CO. "You know, General, there is one thing I have learned from our battles with the Goa'uld... When you have the chance to take them out, DO IT! Don't wait, don't try to small talk with them, and don't bother pumping them for information. Just kill them!" Every head in the room turned to look at the colonel. Hammond raised one eyebrow. "May I remind you, Colonel, that this particular Goa'uld is using a member of your team as a shield and is ready to slit her throat..." Jack shrugged. "Oh, that... Yes, I'm aware of that." He met Sam's eyes and now it was her turn to raise an eyebrow. "Damn you, Jack! You better not be thinking what I think you're thinking!" He gave her a glimpse of a smile, then he said, with no detectable sorrow in his voice; "I'm sorry, Carter!" "Oh my God!" Sam closed her eyes. "I'm gonna kill you for this! ...Sir." Suddenly Jack produced a zat-gun from one of his numerous pockets. He aimed it at the Goa'uld and it's hostage, and in the millisecond before he fired he could see Macarena raise one eyebrow in surprise. If he had turned around he would have seen all the other people in the room doing the same thing. He fired the zat-gun and Carter and Macarena fell to the floor. Teal'c quickly pulled Sam away from the Goa'uld as Jack zatted it a second time. You could have heard a falling needle when Hammond walked up to Jack. He cleared his throat. "Nice shooting, son. Now can you please tell me how I will explain this to the President?" "I could zat him again..." Hammond stared at him and Jack swallowed. "Um... I guess that's not an option." They were suddenly interrupted when the bathroom door was opened from the inside. All the forty-five soldiers fell back in position and aimed their weapons at the door. The missing night-nurse cautiously stuck her head out and asked Doc. Fraiser in a thin voice. "Is it safe to come out now?" --- The next day Jack and Sam were back in the Gate-room, trying to get rid of the remaining grasshoppers and all their new children... This time Jack had put a sign on the door. It read: Stay out! That's an order! They had stunned, killed and disintegrated about half a zillion grasshoppers and could now almost identify the color, or lack of color, on the walls. Still there were enough insects in the air around them to make it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead. Sam was just getting ready to pay the colonel back for the brilliant way he had saved her. She pointed the zat-gun, took a deep breath and... Suddenly the doors opened and a human figure appeared, only to get knocked to the floor, surrounded by blue sparks. "Oh no, not again..." "For crying out loud! Doesn't anyone read signs around here?" Sam walked over to the man and bent down. He was lying on his stomach and she rolled him over to see his face. "It's lieutenant-colonel Samuels, Sir." She checked for a pulse. "And he's dead, Sir." "WHAT?" Jack shouted. "No way! I only hit him once." "Well, Sir... um... so did I..." They looked at each other. Jack groaned. "I guess we'd better inform the general." "Inform the general of what?" The door opened again, Hammond stepped through it, and almost stumbled on the dead body. He looked down and recognized the man. "Is he okay?" Sam cleared her throat, "Eh... no, Sir. He's dead." Hammond raised one eyebrow and looked from one to the other. "Geez! I didn't know the general could do that." Sam thought. Jack shrugged again, "Hey, don't look at us! We only zatted him once..." "...Each." Sam finished. Hammond closed his eyes. "I'm too old for this shit!" He held his hand out. "May I have your weapon, major?" Sam handed the zat-gun to the general. "Dang it! I should have known Samuels would be the end of our careers." She was completely unprepared for what happened next. The general pointed the zat-gun at Samuels' lifeless body and fired. --- In the control room Teal'c and Daniel exchanged glances. "Now THAT'S what I call getting rid of the evidence." "Indeed, Daniel Jackson. Indeed." Before they left the room they made sure they had turned all the security cameras back on. KnnWxPersona Timeline

BECAUSE APPARENTLY WHEN I SAY ILL DETAIL IN ANOTHER POST I MEAN “IM GONNA WRITE IT RIGHT NOW”–BEWARE THERE BE MATH AFOOT—-

Okay so in P5 there’s an Easter Egg for a news report where it is mentioned that Rise’s idol career skyrockets when she turns 20 because sex appeal… but it also doesn’t mention how long ago she turned 20 so I’m just gonna assume that she just turned 20 a few months before (actually 1 month because it’s broadcasted on 7/1 lol) … putting P5 at least 4 years after P4— where she was 15/16 years old depending on when in the year you are. (Her birthday is June 1, 1995 also for reference)

Ann is 16 during P5 according to the wiki, and is a Scorpio— meaning she probably just turned 17 during October/November of P5 since she’s a 2nd year (no idea why the wiki doesn’t mention it tho?) and if we’re going by the idea that Rise is 20 in P5 then that puts Ann’s birthday in Oct/Nov of 1998 or so.

(If we put P5’s year as the Japanese release it bumps up Rise to 21 and Ann was born in 1999 instead– doesn’t make too much of a difference but I started this math thinking 20 so I’m gonna stick to it lol)

Alright so with that in mind we have a 3 year age difference between Rise and Ann— sounds pretty accurate considering Kimi no na Wa having the exact same age difference for Taki and Mitsuha…

So if Rise turns 16 in P4, then that puts the year at 2011 for Persona 4…. not really accurate to when the game came out but alright…

With Ann’s birth year at 1998, she would be 13 in P4— aka in middle school (which I guessed in my previous posts so that’s a good validation for me lol)

That means that Rise and Ann are 4 years apart in time while swapping (which lines up with what I thought in previous posts as well— sweet validation through math >:3)

So basically what we have for the timelines is:

2011- P4 2015A- P5 w/ no Rise 2015B- P5 w/ Rise alive

Or if you’re more into the “release date” theory (which doesn’t even line up with P4 anyways so why would it for P5 also? :p) then it’s 2016A/B.

Then we have the future of 2015B where Ann and Rise meet again. This one I was thinking of either being Ann’s 3rd year in high school or first year out of high school because I like torture but Kimi no na Wa was a special brand of torture having Mitsuha wait 8 years for Taki… Rise is already at the 4 year point by P5– that’s long enough I think lol.

So this the timeline/years for this AU:

2011- P4 (Rise:15/16 Ann:12/13) 2015A- No Rise (Ann:16/17) 2015B- Rise lives (Rise:19/20, Ann:16/17) 2016/2017- They meet again (Rise:21/22/23 Ann: 18/19/20)

My lifelong conversion story

What is Spiritual Awakening?

Spiritual awakening/enlightenment/mysticism, to me are also known as conversion, spiritual rebirth or spiritual transformation and is the ultimate goal of any religion. It is the positive result of an existential or identity crisis. Spiritual awakening/enlightenment/conversion/rebirth is a lifelong journey of coming to know God, finding and and living our divine nature.

To put it simply, God taught our first parents Adam and Eve in Moses 6: 59: "That by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death, and inasmuch as ye were born into the world by water, and blood, and the spirit, which I have made, and so became of dust a living soul, even so ye must be born again into the kingdom of heaven, of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten; that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in this world, and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal glory."

Another way of saying it is this: "We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Here are 3 main parts I have learned of spiritual awakening from my experience 

1. Personal relationship/revelation

Just before He suffered for us in Gethsemane during His intercessory prayer, Jesus said "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

Therefore, perhaps the most important part of spiritual awakening/rebirth and purification is the lifelong personal relationship building with God, getting to know God by conversing with God in mighty prayer & scripture study daily to build our faith in Christ for repentance and purification.

I think I first started really seeking that personal relationship with God when I was about 14 when my parents weren't able to take care of me because of divorce and my mom's mental breakdown. It's interesting how difficult times turn out to be positive because they turn our hearts to God. At that time I started reading the scriptures every day, specifically the Book of Mormon because someone recommended that to me to help me get through a difficult time. The Book of Mormon brought me peace, love, comfort, and joy like no other book could.

This personal relationship with God starts with faith, just faith that God would care enough to give each of us the time of day to minister to us through his Spirit, constantly encouraging and guiding us each step of the way. As we pray and study scriptures daily, we open ourselves up to receive and follow more promptings of the spirit. As we do those things we are filled with more faith, hope and love from and for God, others and self. It's an upward spiral, staircase to heaven. This seed of faith will then grow up into a tree of eternal life, whose fruit is sweetest above all, full of grace, truth, love, joy, and peace to each of us personally. See Alma 32: 27-43

Oh, the joy and beauty of Repentance! Repentance literally means a change of mind. With our free will we decide to sacrifice or give up the desire for a particular sin or sins. We plead to God for forgiveness, confess our sin to anyone else we may have offended and do our best to stop doing that sin. As we consciously decide to sacrifice sin(s) to know God, God can forgive our sin and purify and change our heart, which literally transforms our sinful desires into righteous desires.

And how joyful and beautiful is receiving forgiveness! It is the peace we feel when we are able to let go of our sins and embrace God's love. When I was 19 headed on a mission to share the gospel of faith, repentance, and baptism I remember not feeling worthy to teach because of my past sins, even though I tried hard to repent. Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is ourself.

Then I stumbled upon this verse: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 8:12

That verse brought tears to my eyes; I was so happy and relieved because I knew at that moment, God was speaking sweet mercy and peace to me directly, through his Spirit from reading the scriptures.

Atonement is literally at-one-ment, meaning we make a conscious decision to sacrifice our fallen nature's will to sin and then embrace God's and our divine nature's will to do good and right. Our will, desires, and needs for us become God's will, desires and needs for us and his will for us become ours. We become one in mind and heart with God and each other because we become pure in heart. God is intimately aware of our hopes, fears, and dreams and has a special calling and plan for each of us personally to use our talents, dreams and experience to do good in this world.

And we can find out God's will for us each day. President Russell M. Nelson of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints said in April 2018:

"Follow the example of the Prophet Joseph. Find a quiet place where you can regularly go. Humble yourself before God. Pour out your heart to your Heavenly Father. Turn to Him for answers and for comfort.

Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will “grow into the principle of revelation.”

For daily scripture study, the prophet Nephi also said "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/32?lang=eng

I heard one person put it simply at church one time, "I talk to God when I pray, God talks to me when I read the scriptures." Many times in my life I've had a question, concern or desire from my prayer or in my mind and heart which God answered as I read his holy scriptures.

For instance one time, summer 2017, I lost my keys at a wedding in a church building. I said a prayer and had a feeling to go into the nursery room. My eyes were drawn to a hymn book (hymns are a form of scripture and prayer). So I felt to sing a favorite hymn "I am a child of God" as I walked back into a dark hallway to find my car keys. My eyes were drawn to under the water fountain and sure enough there they were!

2. Biological/inner transformation- the mighty change of heart from God

I like this biological explanation of inner transformation of our mind, heart, spirit and body. It involves the pineal gland in our brain which is also responsible for melatonin-sleep/wake cycles- and serotonin-mood balance.

The first time I felt like my physical body was completely encompassed with Jesus' love for me was when I was about 15 in 1999. I had been struggling with a certain sin I was addicted to. I swear my Bishop must've been tired of me coming back to confess to him the same thing almost every week. But he was patient with me and with God's Spirit encouraged me to read the scriptures every day and keep serving like at Sunday meeting, which gave me strength to withstand temptation. I went with family to go watch a video at a Salt Lake Temple visitor center about Jesus Christ, called the Testaments.

I didn't feel worthy to be in Jesus' presence, even just to watch him on the screen. But I wanted desperately to be worthy of God's presence, enough to feel his love. Then, toward the end of the movie, after I watched the depiction of Jesus suffering for me, and when I saw him come back resurrected and smiling. I felt my whole body filled with tingling energy, warmth, light, and love, directly from Jesus, as if he was smiling directly at me, to save me from my desire to sin, because of his sweet grace.

Much later I had a major transformational event in January 2015 when I felt my heart broken and spirit crushed under the weight of several major life changes and vulnerable mental health. My thoughts and feelings were spiraling my existence into nothingness. For a moment I felt completely separated from God's presence, trapped alone in the deepest, darkest abyss; the void. I was experiencing a moment of eternal spiritual death which is separation from God.

Then, with all the will and energy I had left, I willed myself to believe God was still there for me. I put all my faith in Jesus, even if just a glimmer of hope was left in me. Then the words came to me: "Nothing shall be impossible with God." Luke 1. Then, the flood gates opened inside my heart, soul, mind and body like rushing waters of God's eternal life, love, peace and joy for me personally. God's presence and energy filled me overflowing, as if exploding in me like a supernova.

Then I saw evidences of God's love for me all around me for the next several months and I studied in the scriptures and through the believing community online the next 3 years trying to understand what had happened to me spiritually. That's how I came across all of these things about spiritual awakening.

There are many examples of people in the scriptures receiving a spiritual awakening event/baptism by fire/conversion. Jesus said, "Come unto me with a broken heart and contrite (crushed) spirit and I will baptize you with fire and with the Holy Ghost."

So how do we do that? I know one good way is to pray and fast (skip meals) until we receive a sure answer, then apply it to our life. There is power in mighty fasting or "wrestling with God" in mighty prayer and fasting, like Jacob when his name was changed to Israel (symbol of his rebirth) in genesis 32 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/ot/gen/32?lang=eng. There's also Saul when his name was changed to Paul as the Lord Jesus Christ came to him, Acts 9

Also there's Enos of the book of Mormon, who prayed all day and night for mercy and the joy of the saints until he received a sure answer and his guilt was swept away, https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/enos/1?lang=eng.

The greatest miracle I know of in the scriptures is when the 12 Nephite disciples of the book of Mormon all prayed mightily to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, God the Holy Ghost's literal spirit presence in them, which Jesus promised they'd receive with baptism by fire after their baptism by immersion.

After the native American (Nephite) disciples received those gifts, they prayed to be purified as Jesus is pure or in other words to become Christ's, sanctified by the blood of the Lamb. Then the crowd watched as Jesus blessed each of the disciples. Then the disciples' countenance, the aura, became as bright and pure white as Jesus. Jesus Christ's literal spirit presence was now gifted to them, as I understand. Book of Mormon 3 Nephi 19:25.

Jesus has also come to me and my children to comfort us. He comforted me in 2016 at the psych crisis recovery unit for bipolar suicidal depression when I saw his hand reaching out to me in a vision. Then again in October 2017 when he hugged me in a dream. Then again in June 2018 when I sawhis beautiful white robe and him smiling at me and my family. But I don't feel that we need to experience a crisis to come to Christ, his hands are always open for us to make the sacrifice or ' wrestle' required to come unto him and his everlasting embrace.

3. Covenants with God in priesthood ordinances

A covenant with God is a promise we make with God of obedience to his commandments to receive more promised blessings from God dependent upon our willingness to be obedient. Priesthood ordinances are outward expressions of inward commitments or covenants.

The priesthoods that perform ordinances are Aaronic, the priesthood John the Baptist used to baptize Jesus, and Melchizedek- the priesthood Jesus used to heal the sick and give the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The priesthood ordinances I have received are baptism by immersion, laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, initiatories (washing and anointing), endowment, and the sealing of families together forever.

On July 6, 2017 I had the wonderful experience of kneeling across from my sweetheart Tiffany at the altar of the Mount Timpanogos temple to be sealed together for time and all eternity. Now our children are also sealed to us forever because they were born in the covenant.

What about those who didn't receive a decent chance to choose to receive these ordinances? That's why we do ordinance work for the dead in their place to give them the chance to choose to receive the ordinances on the other side. Jesus organized missionary work in the spirit world during those 2.5 days before his resurrection and it still goes on today. I've had the pleasure of researching information on my Dutch, Danish and English ancestors and taking their names to the temple to enable them to receive the priesthood ordinances by acting in their place.

It's also important to note that people can receive these ordinances spiritually e.g. baptism by fire/purification of heart, before they have an opportunity to receive them physically like the Gentiles in Acts upon whom the Holy Ghost fell upon before they had a chance to receive that priesthood ordinance. That's why I mentioned at the beginning that people can receive this spiritual awakening in any religion. This makes it easier for us not to judge each other because only God knows who's received the Holy Ghost and this great purification of heart. But, the physical ordinances are important, too, just like how Jesus was baptized to keep that commandment even though he was already innocent.
