9. “thank you for the music” and “honey honey” by abba both make me happy. “the great escape” by boys like girls also is nostalgic and makes me happy whenever i hear it

11. “dreamgirl” by dave matthews band. my parents met at a dave matthews band concert so i’ve grown up listening to a lot of their songs and they’re nostalgic to me, and this one is one of my favorites. “free fallin” by tom petty is another one that’s nostalgic for me and it moves me every time i listen to it. the lyrics “i wanna write her name in the sky/i’m gonna free fall out into nothin'/gonna leave this world for a while” just gets me in the feels for some reason idk

In terms of head canons for the universe? Tatiana and Rafael’s mom moved Tatiana back to LA where she’s from when their parents got a divorce, and their dad took Rafa back to PR which is why he has his accent. And why Tatiana sounds Mexican (because they’re half). Their mom moved back to Boston to spend more time with Rafa after missing his childhood. She brings big lunches for him and his DCU buddies. This is how Jane meets Tatiana.

       The raspy tone of Stevie Nicks’ Bella Donna slowly drift out of Robin’s open window, the only thing at this point keeping her bedroom from becoming a greenhouse in the Indiana summer heat. Not that it bothered her and Steve; his house was always a little too empty when it was just the two of them, and whenever they were at hers and her dad was home, he’d always make them the best homecooked meal that Steve could ever ask for, the same recipe that her nonna had perfected all those years ago when she’d first crossed the sea to America. Things were always better when he was at home and not away working. Robin knew that it was necessary to keep them in this cramped house, but her mom always had a way of ruining her mood, and was more easily tempered when her dad was here.

        Robin was sat under the window, watching Steve as he flicked through her tapes --- a disorganised mix of music she’d taken to listening to over the past couple of years and her beloved language tapes. Russian ones had been added to the mix ever since the events of Starcourt Mall, and while it was a wildly different language in form and structure to when she’d taught herself French and Spanish ( Italian, thankfully, had always been spoken at home ), she was definitely getting better at it.

         “ So you know how I said that Nancy acted a bit weird with me when we were at the library researching Victor Creel and I thought it had to do with the fact that she thought the two of us were a couple? And I had to clarify --- you know, Platonic with a capital P. ” She waited a moment for Steve’s brain to catch up and for him to nod. “ Well, you’ll never guess what she said to me the other day. ” Even just at Steve’s quizzical look, Robin couldn’t help but start laughing. “ She actually said that she thinks we’d be good together and that I should stop being in denial about it and just ask you out already. ”

          “ No way. ” Now they were both laughing --- not at Nancy or even the situation, but just at how easy it was to convince the world, even Steve’s ex, that they were made for each other. Whatever happened to a boy and girl just being friends? She loved Steve to bits, he was her best friend --- but she could not love him in the same way that she wanted to love a girl, and they were both OK with that.
