Hi! I would love to hear why you think Klaus and Bonnie would be a compatible or at least fascinating match :) I can tell you're going to turn me into a Klonnie shipper even though the last thing I need in my life is another doomed OTP!!

Hey :D I love a good doomed ship it makes the fandom more interesting especially in terms of creativity tbh.

Bonnie had proven herself to be just as morally corrupt as other characters as needed. Sure, it wasn’t to the extreme of others but it existed especially if her friends were threatened. That type of loyalty and strength would be what Klaus would like because of how possessive and selfish he is.

There’s Bennett-Mikaelson connections through the lore of TVD. Ayana was Esther’s mentor. Abby entombed Mikael. Then in present there’s Esther prasing Bonnie for being the one to fight Klaus. Elijah recruited Bonnie to do it. Both Bonnie and Klaus have parental struggles on both sides. Klaus is more forefront than Bonnie’s but it exists. Tagging my friends content here :).

Klaus was introduced with an affinity for witches (Gloria, Maddox, Greta..)it was just dropped after well you know ;). But in a sibling light I could see both Rebekah and Kol taking a liking to Bonnie. Rebekah wanted that normal highschool experience and Kol was formerly a witch. We got a little bit of Kennett moments in s4 but that was dropped. Bonnie is the only TVD character to never have her own side friend out the group.

Narratively TVD would’ve just had to work with their few key points to make Klonnie a slow burn ship from s2-4 tbh. Bonnie kept getting the short-stick. Season 3 she got cheated on, her mother abandoned again, she had all the reasons to distant herself from her friends and end up in someone’s darker arms. The Mikaelson Ball ep Esther is leeching off Bonnie and her bloodline yet Bonnie is no where to be found… huh… Bonnie doesn’t get enough in universe credit for her actions because she has not only nearly killed Klaus she has saved his life(and everyone else’s.)

Season 4 Bonnie was dipping into a darker side with Expression and she blindly trusted Shane just to learn magic. It would be another moment for Klaus to try and get in her good graces. Klaus would have to open up emotionally for Bonnie to sympathize with him. I think they would challenge each other. Bonnie is one of the female characters who can fight back to people who are trying to harm her in a way Elena or Caroline can’t tbh.

Bonnie wasn’t just any witch either she was a Bennett which her family is responsible for nearly everything in TVD. I don’t think Klaus would’ve suddenly became a “Disney prince” type of BF by any means but I could see the relationship working. Klaus is still an elitist bastard with years of knowledge Bonnie would want. Bonnie is willing to give that loyalty to anyone who is good to her. Cami is seen as good and she even falls for Klaus lmao.

Last point people only play morality clauses with Bonnie because the series does. By the end of TVD Bonnie considers Damon not Elena or Caroline or Matt her bestfriend. That should say enough about what Bonnie would allow but….The writers and fans will argue that Bonnie doesn’t deserve to be paired up with toxic men or women but TVD never introduced anyone that was “morally good” by our world standards. Even Enzo physically harmed Bonnie pre-relationship. The other leads are white and never held to the same standards. Elena said it was Stefan until it wasn’t. Caroline said no to Klaus until she didn’t. Hayley’s arc includes with her fucking Klaus and dating Elijah… the list could continue.

He's not at all the kind of character I usually love---I like softer, awkward nerds lol---and he was gross in his S1 interactions with Vicki, but I ended up loving him and Forwood became my OTP. Hi anon! Sorry I’m only formulating my response to this now 😭 I forgot- but…

Tyler isn’t generally the kind of character I adhere to either! So it’s a surprise for me that not only do I love him, but he’s my favorite character from the tvdu. Now this can be easily attributed to his growth (I did NOT like him in season one- and watching the start of that season even knowing where he ends up hurts). His character growth is so beautiful- because you can watch 1x01 and see how he treats his friends and Vicky and it all makes sense, he’s still the same guy from the later seasons. This is because they never try and change him, or even try to absolve his sins. Instead he’s given a realistic growth arc- in which he confronts his issues and their roots and works on them. Not only this but his interactions with his friends and family change along the way, his openness and his kindness shining through. On top of that his character has a very relatable and solid understanding of reality, he understands nuances rather easily and has emotional competency not too many of the other members have (not that they lack it- just they lack the same level of self introspection).

Tyler knows his limits, he understands how far his growth has reached and how much further he has to go. And sets clear boundaries in his relationships not just to protect those relationships and himself, but to acknowledge how far he has come with his anger and trauma and how much further he has left to go.

So for his strengths I will always claim his emotional competence and his heart are what makes it. Because he has a good heart- even if he doesn’t know how to use it or listen to it at the start of the show. Then there’s his level headedness and overall social intelligence, which makes him a great pack leader and an asset to the cast.

As for his relationship with Caroline I think it’s their special blend of communication that sold it for me. Because they are so emotionally open and push each other to grow into better people.

The vampire diaries is sooo mf complex like I hate the fact that basically if I want to rewatch it? I have to binge it, actually pay attention, and watch through delenas insufferable relationship. I hate Damon, I only have a sexual liking towards his character but no emotional kind of connection, respect, or liking towards him. Damon throughout that whole show was a piece of lowlife shit to me, especially killing Vickie. Vickies death was low asf to me and for literally no reason ESPECIALLY THE ABUSE ON CAROLINE. Everyone takes his good moments and his shots at redemption as this save all as if that suddenly puts all the lives he’s took and ruined in the past or even in the present goes away and just becomes forgiven for all his monstrous actions. “He’s a villain that’s what he’s supposed to do” SOME PEOPLE DONT LIKE VILLIANS and I don’t like Damon as a “villain”. To me he’s more an anti hero or just a bad guy with mental issues but if we’re gonna put his actions towards the villainy route then so be it. I LOVE villians mind you, they’re smarter than the protagonist usually and have really good reasoning for being the way they are or doing what they’re doing. But Damon? Was pure revenge and spite. He said it himself he was gonna make Stefan’s life a living hell for forcibly turning him but I feel Damon went completely overboard with everything he’s did throughout season after season after season. It never stopped, he never stopped taking the good things and people Stefan had away from him, he never stopped abusing ppl until like last minute, he manipulated woman and so much more. And let’s not talk about how everytime Elena “rejected” him or made him upset? That always ended in a body dead the next couple of days PLUS HIM LITERALLY SNAPPING JEREMYS NECK BECAUSE ELENA REJECTED HIM. Was that not enough? Like idk it’s just fucking delusional to me how Damon fans love to act like he’s a saint or him redeeming himself suddenly makes up for the shit he’s done. it does not. he still kept doing these things. He’s done a lot of good and I see that, Damon is capable of caring, loving, protecting, and being loyal to people but he can be an absolute monster WAS an absolute monster, and I don’t think any of the things he’s done that were supposed to redeem him? Did it for me. It didn’t, it doesn’t make up for anything he’s done in my eyes it’s as simple as not accepting an apology. There’s a good man in there but where was he when he was out doing the bullshit he was doing? Hurting people? Abusing women? Manipulating them? Attacking tormenting and hurting his own family? No where. “I’ll admit it took Elena for me to actually wanna do right by people” and that’s the saddest most fucked up thing he’s could’ve ever admit to. Everyone always praised how he’s able to take responsibility for his actions but these actions are FUCKED UP ADMITTING THAT IT TOOK YOUR BROTHERS GIRLFRIEND TO ACTUALLY CHANGE AND STOP KILLING AND HURTING PEOPLE???? TO ACTUALLY NOW just start giving asf about all the things you’ve done because you fell in love with a stupid girl IS SICK. Like omg 💀💀💀💀 but nooo “delena otp. delena epic!! Delena forever”. Fuck no. Delena Was Not Cute

Ewww. Officer, it's these two right here.

To be honest, after watching the Series for the 100th times, i have changed my mind a lot. One being that, Delena was not my OTP for this show, I do not really think Stelena is a cute couple either, but I found them a lot more tolerable than these two. But the thought of Delena being this Amazing Epic couple never crossed my mind. It's weird because the actors actually dated in real life, but they just didn't seem natural to me, Paul and Nina definitely seemed way more electric in my opinion, if the writing had been better for them. It felt like to me, that the writers purposely made Stelena kind of boring, so when Damon and Elena got together, it would be more lustful, and heated, more intense, but to me Damon just seemed crazy, to the point where I just cringed. He was so Obsessive and Possessive. They were not sexy, they were not hot, and their dialogue to each other was so corny. I genuinely believe if roles had been reversed they gave Stefan Damon's personality (and they had taken out the horrible stuff), I would not feel this way. (I am not saying that Stefan is a good person.) But the biggest Issue that I have was that Damon honestly did so many horrible things to Elena, and her loved ones, and she forgave him immediately, he hurt her friends, he hurt her family, her classmates and so many innocents in this town, and don't even get me started on Caroline and Andie, and caused so many of the problems that we get in this show.

2. Have you ever read a fanfic about 2? – Yes, my favourite is Fanny: A Mansfield Park Story by Amelia Marie Logan, and I've written severa, including one full length novel.

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr screen saver? – Nope! Always my kids these days.

If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be? – This actually happens in FF quite a lot, people are always killing off Brandon early into the marriage and leaving Marianne with a baby. It makes me sad, let Brandon be happy! He's only 37 when they marry he probably has another 20 years at least! (Honestly, since Brandon has survived to his age, Marianne actually has a higher chance of passing away since she's the one making babies).

5. Why is 1 so important? – Because they are so uncomplicated and happy. Just two very cute people making a cute marriage and I would defend their ship to the ends of the earth.

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship? – Um, it's a whole joke that Austen didn't reveal a new character because the new viscount made a laundry list that Catherine found. But I love Eleanor so much that I do seriously want her to be happy.

7. Out of all the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry? – Henry & Catherine, Harriet & Robert I think? I may be a bad judge of "chemistry".

8. Out of all your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond? – Elinor & Edward, I'm always surprised how sure they are of the other's love in spite of of all the obstacles.

9. How many times have you read/watched the 10’s fandom? - I honestly don't know at this point, I read Persuasion once as a teenager and I didn't like it but I LOVED Sir Walter. I've watched all the adaptations (including 1971) and I've read/listened to the book multiple times now.

10. Which ship has lasted the longest? – Sir Walter & himself obviously, that's been going strong for 54 years. I hope it continues until his death at 93. All the others are new pairings.

11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up? – The only Austen couple to break up and get back together is Anne & Wentworth, so zero for Elinor & Edward.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8? – Huh, Fanny & Henry or Emma & Jane? They both have a sickly member, which is not great for their odds... Emma is smart but often distracted which would be really bad but Jane is a devoted learner.... Henry would "improve" his estate with zombie moats... I'm voting for both Fanny and Emma don't make it and Henry Crawford & Jane Fairfax find their second true pairing together.

13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason? – Colonel Brandon is attempting to hide his regard out of respect for Marianne and that's why I love him so much.

14. Is 4 still together? – Yes, eating walnuts and petting "her" little cow. Man they are cute!

15. Is 10 canon? – Yep! Though a bunch of the others aren't

16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win? – I'm going to put my money on Colonel Brandon, who will do anything to save Marianne. He would be the Katniss and she is the Peeta.

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship? – Yes, Mr. Elliot has been trying to prevent Sir Walter from marrying again so he can inherit the baronetcy. He almost succeeds!

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond? – Catherine Morland and Henry Tilney, they are the only couple I can't bring myself to break up in fan fiction.

19. Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page? – Um, none? I end up seeing Elizabeth & Darcy stuff no matter what, I have tags on the lesser known Austen characters.

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all forever, which ship would you sink? – That is hard because these are my favourite, but I guess Emma can marry boring Knightley instead of having a torrid enemies-to-lovers affair with Jane Fairfax...

this turned more originals centered since Ik I talk about it the least so less of my opinions are recorded/known so that tracks.

I generally enjoy (the girls) no humanity arcs despite their messiness

my ranking of Klaus popular ships that are some level of canon at this point is probably Klayley>Klaurora>Klaroline>>Klamille, I ship the former 3 to different degrees although none is necessarily otp levels.

I’m really neutral on Camille overall I think she’s unfairly hated but I also couldn’t get properly interested in her, she and Davina are probably the two major female TVDu chars that interest me the least even though I don’t have anything against them but I connected to Rebekah Hayley Freya and Aurora all a lot more (even if I find some of the changes to characterization re: the former two from TVD to TO less compelling esp Rebekah I think we agree on this).

I do think Aurora x Camille served a little

Freya and Klaus had at least top 2 most interesting Mikaelson’s relationships to me (Klaus and Rebekah’s best hits are more insane but I probably liked the arc for him and Freya better).

I sort of bounced around on how I felt about MG x Lizzie while legacies aired I liked them most in late s2 when they had some scenes I thought served but everything before and after was meh and the get together in s4 was embarrassing.

Josie x Rafael was underrated and could’ve been good… they’re like Margo x Quentin for me in that it’s not a ship I’m mad about but it was good and compelling esp compared to canon ships and I think it could have saved us from worse things had it been considered seriously. Anyway that siphon kiss moment goes hard

This is barely about TVDu but reading the locked tomb has given me ideas for how insanely good the merge storyline could have been if the writers knew what they were doing and (I love the Saltzman twins dynamic this is well documented) how great the Saltzman twins dynamic could be if it was more like Ianthe and Coronabeth…. Like society one of the twins had siphoned the other twins love interest or someone they cared about deeply and ended the merge that way and then the other twin was jealous of not being siphoned from/killed. The s2 not merge is like even more boring to me now that I have this comparison point

I enjoy Elena and Caroline about equally when I’m watching the show or who I gravitate towards more depends on the storyline or part of the show but I tend to find Elena more interesting to dissect when I’m just thinking about the show and also Caroline’s fandom can be… yeah so I think that leads me to gravitate towards Elena more recently/currently.

maybe less unpopular now based on that poll but s2 is the best TVD season. I love a lot of things in s3 and s6 but both also have more issues s2 is when there was a good balance.

TO s3 was definitely the most engaging TO season for me it’s no secret that I actually struggle to be engaged by TO the most out of the shows, at different points I’ve definitely mused in the tags about why that is but ultimately I think it might just be a me thing without deeper reasoning lolz. But s3 was where I was most entertained. (less sure how popular or unpopular this is since I don’t see a lot of ‘season’ discussions like I do for TVD)

I'm gonna warn you there's a lot heheheheheh! Also sorry this took forever! Also I hope I didn't come off as rude or anything in any of my responses!

Stefan

• My NOTP for them: I thought it was Valerie maybe Caroline but I think it's Katherine. Valerie left him but Caroline cared for him and (I'm 99.9% she didn't treat him like trash so shes good in my book but I still don't ship them.) Now I'm just gonna say this Katherine and Stefan do look chemistry together. I do believe Katherine cares for very few people and he may be one of those people. But that doesn't really excuse...she messed him up. Like bad. Like really really bad. Now I do like Katherine's personality she's pretty cool but that wasn't her best moment. I'm not Kat hater but she shouldn't have compelled and manipulated Stefan in the way she did.

• My BROTP for them: Lexi! I mean have you seen these two they're the best together (platonically of course) they bring the best out of each other. And Lexi truly cares for Stefan she's been they're for him during his blood cravings to the times he shut of his humanity. It's really hard not to love they're friendship especially since it's healthier compared to some of the other relationships in tvd.

• My OTP for them: Stelena (duh). I just find them to be adorable. And healthier than delena. *cough *cough Stefan never forced Elena to do anything and let her make her own choices. And Elena accepted Stefan for who he was and loved him even more for it especially because he was honest! And he also didn't go and kill innocent people because he was mad Elena broke up with him. Sorry for the rant! Delena lovers don't come for me!

• My second choice pairing for them: it's between Caroline and Rebekah with Stefan. As far as I know they both treated him right. Correct me if I'm wrong. As long as they cared for him that's all that matters in my book.

• My fluffy pairing for them: Still stelena because they're so adorable it makes me want to write fluffy fanfiction of them. Which I have. 15 to be exact. I find they're relationship to be very sweet and I love that they have an mutual understanding and respect of one another. I also love how they both bring the best out of each other. And they (usually) make each other very happy and that's a A+ in my book!

• My angsty pairing for them: Stefan and Katherine. I mean report to whole first paragraph it'll tell you exactly why.

• My favorite poly ship for them: I don't have any tbh.

• My weirdest pairing for them: Klaus and Stefan...? Not 100% sure tbh.

Elena

• My NOTP for them: Delena. No respect. Just some prize to be won in Damon eyes. Goes on a killing spree if she breaks up with him. Doesn't want her to make her own choices. Doesn't have regard for who Elena cares for which in the end, ends up hurting Elena. Kinda felt like he expected her to be exactly like Katherine. Sire bond. Sorry sometimes I love Damon other times I don't.

• My BROTP for them: Elena and Bonnie. Bonnie truly cares for all of her friends and it's hard not to love they're friendship especially when they stuck together through thick and thin. Bonnie is the most loyal and caring friend we need more people like her.

• My OTP for them: Stelena <3 they're so adorable like I said before! :)

• My second choice pairing for them: Elejah.

• My fluffy pairing for them: Stelena!

• My angsty pairing for them: Delena. I mean have you seen they're arguments it was intense and not in a good way.

• My favorite poly ship for them: I don't have any.

• My weirdest pairing for them: The only ship that weird would be Klaus and Elena 😳 cause you know he killed her aunt. Maybe Delena cause Damon snapped Jeremy's neck. 😳

Caroline

• My NOTP for them: Klaroline. Why? Klaus hurt her friends multiple times. But I do respect how he did change but it's kinda hard to like the ship because of all the awful things he has done to the group and others in general. I do like he changed and became better but it feels weird to me it's like delena in the way We're Elena got with Damon after all the horrible things he did. (How he treated Caroline, his brother, how he treated Andy, killed Lexi, killed their nephew, killed Countless innocents, manipulate people to get what he wanted.) In conclusion I don't like Klaus but I do like Caroline. She also mentioned why would I help you after you've hurt me friends multiple times? Great point Caroline! Kudos to Care! Just wanted to say that I’ve loved reading your TVD recaps! I haven’t done a full rewatch of the show in ages (I mostly just rewatch my favorite Steroline episodes lol), so it’s nice to get a refresher on all the batshit stuff that happened over the years haha. Can’t wait until you get to season 6!

Thanks Anon! I have never done this before either, I always watched the show live (or a few days after) from the pilot to finale so doing it all as a binge has been fun. I think I've picked up on stuff the show does that I didn't notice before, like the foreshadowing that Stefan was going to leave the triangle in S4. I'm up to S5 now and even though I know they foreshadowed Steroline watching it in a binge is like wow, they really built that up piece by piece. Even S3 which has like nothing with them their storylines have parallels i.e. torture jail, Klaus, their vampirism and coming to terms with it. Then you get S4 and S5 and the progression from friends > sober sponsor > best friends > maybe something more. The plot can definitely go off the rails though and there's a few side plots I've just decided to ignore because they bore me. I think what the show did best is have a lot of nuance with it's romantic entanglements and that's why shipping and ship wars were (and still are!) so heated. It's also much funnier than people give it credit for, there's been a few instances where I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.

I am so excited to get to S6!! It's my favorite season, I really like S2 as well but S6 was a good storyline, great villain AND my OTP became canon. Plus Caroline really got to shine that season. My recaps for S6 are gonna be so long I'm sure lol

Haley - This was hard. While I love Brooke's growth and who she becomes after high school, I did not always like her. I questioned some of Haley's decisions, but I always liked her, and I think she was a genuinely good person throughout.

Elijah - Disclaimer: I have not watched The Originals. I love the way Klaus is with Caroline, but he's chaotic and monstrous, like he's throwing tantrums, in TVD other than that. Elijah is calm, collected and monstrous (which is scarier imo), but he's also respectful and sophisticated.

Caroline/Tyler - I just don't like Stefan.

Leyton - Lucas and Peyton are my OTP. I like Naley well enough, but Lucas and Peyton are epic. To quote one of my other faves, Logan Echolls, "Spanning years and continents. Lives ruined, bloodshed. EPIC."

Dair - I love all things Blair. Period.

The O.C. - This one really depends on my mood. The O.C. is like a warm hug every episode. There's drama, but it doesn't overwhelm most of the time. The Cohens are just wholesome, and Ryan getting that life makes me happy. One Tree Hill is angsty ALL THE TIME, which is fine when I am not battling anxiety but not when I need comfort.

Luke - I love how he is with Lorelai and Rory, that he grudgingly loves Stars Hollow, and that he's always helping people even if he gripes about it.
