while im already on the train of teen wolf thoughts, i might as well say that i do not get sterek. romantically anyway. that ship is so intensely POPULAR and ive been seeing stuff about it for literal years, way before i ever even considered watching teen wolf or really knew what it was. pretty much every teen wolf fic i see on ao3 has some manner of sterek in it unless i SPECIFICALLY search for something else, like its just a given part of fanon, but now that im actually watching it im kinda like. where? like yeah they had that one vaguely homoerotic wall-pinning moment in season 1, they snark at each other a lot, but like. i don't even see them together that often. and that's not even MENTIONING the fact that in season 1 stiles is 15/16 and derek is fucking,, 22 (or 20, I'm not sure on his age but ik its at least a four-year difference),,, which is just. yeah no thanks

if anything they strike me more as, like, goofy, vaguely sibling-coded friends. stiles came along as a package deal with scott and started annoying the shit out of derek and derek had no say in the matter whatsoever, and i think that's beautiful.

all this being said, stiles is absolutely bisexual

etwas tieferes: i think it’s cool that it’s (afaik) unique to hockey fandom and i enjoy the way it integrates a lot of unspoken rules in hockey with desire/makes them a physical/tangible reality… also the narrative potentials/world-building it opens up can be fun because there’s not really a set of rules for the “winner’s room” trope. are there in-universe rules? who gets chosen? who’s exempt? who gets to pick? where’s it going down? is it the entire room or one guy? what if your (ex)boyfriend is on another team? does somebody need to be taught a lesson or do you need to remind someone who got traded you still love them? also, most important, winner’s room gives you the chance to put two random-ass guys you saw interact for 0.002 seconds and went “hmmm. interesting” about into a Situation and i love that

TW for C S A, nothing graphic, just the topic - I am spacing that out and not putting tags because the last time I put C S A tags on a post, I got an anon telling me I deserved to be SA'd, so no thanks. Nothing in here is graphic.

[Before anyone says it, and before you read, no, this is not about shipping discourse. I am not touching that shit with a 10 foot pole. Do not ask me about that shit, I barely know what it fuckin' means, I'm not talking about that, and if you think I am, no I am not.]

It really does baffle me that people seem to only be okay with vent art, so long as it's not extremely graphic. Especially, particularly, if it's extremely sexually graphic in terms of sexual abuse survivors. Like most people are in agreement that things like traumacore (which is a broad category of just overall trauma vent art in my own opinion and perception) and like general art to vent about other abuse and trauma, but suddenly because it's about extreme, graphic abuse and trauma, it's "STOP ROMANTICIZNG IT, IT'S UNHEALTHY!!!", "IT'S A BAD COPING SKILL, YOU'RE JUST AESTHETIZING IT AND ROMANTICIZING IT!!!" when people literally said, and still say, the exact same thing about self-harm vent art, depression vent art, anything like that. Like I have lived through those years of Tumblr era and online in general where people saw any kind of vent art that depicted self-harm, depression, abuse, etc. and people would get dogpiled and harassed and shamed for it and treated like they were romanticizing abuse, self-harm, etc. when they. Literally are just venting about their feelings, their trauma, their struggles??

Oh, and it's not just if it's C S A related, it's not just if it's related to more extreme abuse - it's just if the artwork/writing itself is extremely graphic and doesn't sugar coat anything. Like I'm not saying you have to enjoy looking at someone's extremely graphic vent art, but surely you see the hypocrisy here? Vent art is only okay if it is sanitized.

Once again, it always goes back to trauma survivors having to sanitize ourselves and sugar coat everything so that it doesn't make others violently and viscerally uncomfortable. And like, yeah, it is uncomfortable lmfao. Imagine how we feel.

Not to mention. Once again. Art therapy is a thing? That exists? That literally helps people? There are plenty of studies that talk about this. There are plenty of studies that even show that oftentimes drawings by children are some of the only ways they can tell what happened. Same for adults, especially if you have DID.

And even if that random stranger on the internet is somehow making artwork that is in some way only worsening their trauma or whatever, that's not your business. 🤷 Like maybe don't shame people for having maladaptive coping mechanisms that aren't to your tastes.

I've drawn extremely vile things. I've written extremely vile things. I have no idea what they mean, I have no idea if they are hinting at any kind of actual events I have actually experienced or anything, but you know what didn't help me? The amount of people who say you are a pedophile for even daring to make art that depicts such horrific, graphic, and vile sexually abusive things. I constantly feel terrified that I am secretly a pedophile and don't know it, don't realize it. I am constantly terrified that my artwork is just me being a sick, disgusting, vile freak, instead of. Y'know. The possibility that it really is just a manifestation of extreme fucking abuse.

This is where it gets a bit more graphic, but I am NOT describing specific C S A acts or anything, but it is graphic in a way.

I am going to speak about this as if I know for a fact that I experienced these things, even thought I don't know, just keep that in mind before I say this. I'm being extremely bold sharing all of this and I might edit this out later or delete this post altogether, but I have experienced C S A under the lens of believing it as a healthy, consensual, pleasurable experience. Most of my vent art and things I have written depicts this. They depict C S A as if it was normal, healthy, consensual sex. As a result, a lot of the artwork and things I've written could even be mistaken as literal erotica or "romanticizing sexual abuse." Other stuff I've drawn/written is just straight-up graphic and violent C S A, it's just not sugar-coated or sanitized and is extremely graphic.

Like are you sure that person is "romanticizing" or "aestheticizing" their trauma/abuse? Are you sure that person is exploring their trauma in an "unhealthy" way, or is their artwork/writing the only way they can express deep, personal feelings that you could not possibly understand? And in the case that one out of every whatever number of people IS just making art and writing things that is only making it worse for them, do you only think that about people who make artwork/writing that you find gross/vile/uncomfortable/too graphic/etc., or does that apply to other vent art as well? Because if not, you should rethink that thought process. And again, do you really think it would be okay to shame people for having maladaptive coping mechanisms?

So somehow they got into relationship between those 3 years gap, and when Sherlock & William got back to London, miss Hudson found out that she got pregnant.... Now, my friend knows that I ship Mycroft and Albert but still want to ask my opinion on her fic. What do you think? Does that plot seem ooc to you? Is it possible in au?

First off, thank you so much for reading my fic! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!! 😊

Even though I obviously very much ship Mycroft/Albert, I do also really really like Mycroft/Hudson. I think it's as valid as any of the other side pairings: Sherliam is the big essentially canon ship and everything else is just kind of taking little crumbs and running with them, and that's great and fun and I love doing it, haha!

I've written random posts before about how I think Mycroft and Miss Hudson could have a very...idk, mature? romance. They're both very independent and well into adulthood. I think they would be really forthright and have a good idea of what they want from life, and, in a relationship context, from each other. I tend to think they'd avoid a lot of the drama that comes with younger romances (*affectionately side-eyes Sherliam's theatrics*).

Also I always think they'd be really good parents because they've already been parenting Sherly together for years. 😆 (I kid, they're definitely both more older siblings to him. Regardless, it's a cute part of their bond.)

I think them growing closer together during the timeskip years is a very realistic possibility. It's canonical that they were there for each other in their grief at least to some degree, with the adorable milk tea thing and whatnot. It's sweet to imagine them discovering something new and joyful together while they comfort each other.

I don't know how familiar you and your friend are with the Victorian Era, but the one caution I'll give just in case is that if an (I'm assuming) unmarried pregnancy is treated in a Victorian-setting fic the way it would be in the modern day, it would absolutely take me right out of the story. Being unmarried and pregnant then was A Big Deal, with relatively few options for how to proceed (here's an article about one of those options: TW for mentions of rape and suicide). So, if the fic isn't a modern day AU, I would want to see those problems at least be acknowledged. Most likely it would put the couple in a position where a quick wedding makes the most sense. (Of course, if the idea is that they actually got married during the timeskip, disregard all this lol!)

Anyway, I would actually love to see more Mycroft/Hudson fics in general, so I'm eager to see what your friend comes up with! I don't think there's anything ooc about the pairing at all -- at least, no more so than any of the other ships besides Sherliam. In fact, I could probably even argue that Mycal (at least with the way most of us like to write Albert 😅) is much more ooc from a canon perspective. I'm always delighted to hear about (new?) people making fic for our lovely little fandom, and I wish your friend all the best with their writing!!

Hi! I was wondering something, what's ur opinion on child x adult ships? Or someone writing nsfw of underaged characters?

I am also wondering something: would you approach random people on the street to ask them this question, or is this dubious pleasure only reserved for random people on tumblr?

I don't have a generalized opinion on a topic specified as broadly as "child x adult ships". are we talking Sterek in TW season 1, where Stiles was 17, which is underage in some countries, and Derek was... 22 I think?, or are we talking ships with an actual child/adult dynamic? the latter I am too old to consider anything other than gross. the former I have no problems with.

I have no opinions on people "writing nsfw of underaged characters" for the same reason: the question is too generalized. give me a specific example and I *may* have an opinion. how old are the characters? how old is the writer? what exactly are they writing? are they processing trauma? are they young and exploring their sexuality? etc, etc.

if you're asking this question in some weird-ass attempt to validate my virtue, you're better off blocking me, because my worldview definitely isn't as black and white as you'd like. if you're underage, why are you even on my blog? and if you simply make a habit of going around and asking strangers this question, I am begging you to see a therapist.

nsfw is something i quite enjoy writing, but only with muns over 21. i don’t use readmores, but it is always tagged. my nsfw tag is “nsfw   (( lover to lover ))”. so far that hasn’t been caught by the filter. if it changes i’ll make a post.

due to the content of this blog there will be triggers present. i tag all the main things under “tw:______” if you need anything else tagged please let me know. i will not tag dogs because i use my dog as my mun faceclaim.

as to my triggers: if you have images of clowns or needles on your blog, please do not follow. i’m not super comfortable with horror source material either, so i’ll be more comfortable if you have tags for me to blacklist

writing

i tend to skew a little shorter on writing 1-3 paragraph type of thing, only because novellas take me a long ass time to reply to. i’m open to doing them with established mutuals, but please be aware they will take me a while.

you don’t have to match my length, just give me something to work with.

if you want to start writing with me, the best way to do so is via an ask. there’s no time limits on my asks, send them whenever the hell you want. i just ask that you yeet it into a new post if you want to continue. also completely adore being tagged in random starters.

please specify a muse, or at least narrow it down to 2-3 options. if we’ve been writing for a while and chatting ooc, i don’t mind as much. if you approach me with a plot however, i’m happy to pick a muse i think would work best for that plot.

i am a totally hopeless romantic, but not all the muses are. means i am 100% okay with shipping, and okay to go into an interaction looking for that - even if it’s a first interaction - just please let me know that’s what we’re looking for. some muses will do the romance thing, some will need to be discussed. also very much of the opinion that sex doesn’t need love, and a few of the muses agree, so we can do that too.

Random DP Headcanon!!

The college trio (Vlad, Maddie, and Jack) and kids!

Jack is the only one who ever really wanted kids. Vlad gets annoyed easily. And Maddie didn't want any distractions.

In spite of this, Jack isn't the best with little kids. (Under 6) He can relate to them some, but can't manage to talk to them. Kids still love him though.

Vlad on the other hand, can hold a conversation for quite a while. But as soon as they ask him to play games, he's out.

Maddie just smiles and nods. But their minds are too literal for her. She can't stand having to try and explain everything.

Jack always loved the idea of adopting.

Vlad always thought if he ever got married he'd have biological children.

Maddie was never against having kids, but they really weren't something she planned on.

That's about it. Just my opinions on the college trio and kiddos.🙂

Reason: I have so many emotions with this one! It's got Jack being a good dad, and a smart guy. It shows the betrayal Jack feels at finding out about Vlad. It's a good read. The writing is wonderful, and the characters are well written. (Sorry if that doesn't make sense) In all, I can't recommend this one enough.

Reason: Okay. I might be biased for this one since @deaths-true-mortal-enemy wrote it specifically for me....but it's short and sweet. It gives an interesting and unique spin on the concept of Space!Danny. It shows how big and vast and empty space can be, with wonderful descriptions and a melancholy tone. I love it.💙

The Case of the Chance Meeting by Kitsune_Scribe 9/10

Reason: I don't read many ship-fics. They just aren't my thing. But, I make an exception for Burger/Della fics. And this one does not disappoint. I loved every second of it. It's adorable. There's stargazing, snow, and just cozy vibes. Honestly, I think that if you're looking to check out this ship, this might be the perfect first fic for it.💙

Spoilers: Through Season 1 of TNG

Reason: Set during and right after Riker was grabbed by the alien monster in "Skin of Evil," this one shows the panic and fear that Will must have been going through. Honestly, I loved it. Riker is one of my favorites, and it's hard to find really good fics that center around him. So it was nice to find this one. The writing was really good. The emotions were running high. Would recommend.👌🏻

Hi. Don't mind me, I'm just gonna rant about Stargate SG1 for a bit. (Specifically about Jonas Quinn)

Jonas wasn't Daniel. And I love that about him. (I love Daniel too though. Don't get me wrong. I'm just not a fan of a character getting replaced by a different character that's basically just a recolor.) Jonas was naive and optimistic, Daniel was snarky and sarcastic. (Daniel was still optimistic, yes. I'm not denying that. But it definitely showed in different ways.) Jonas smiled almost all the time, and he was generally cheerful.

He was also smart as a whip. I think it's a lot of fun to show a character like Jonas, who learns quickly, and pair him with Daniel, who is highly intelligent, but spent longer learning his field. Their dynamic was wonderful. I love the scenes where those two get to interact.

Speaking of dynamics, Jonas was the second alien to be a main character, and it was wonderful. His dynamic with Teal'c was one of my absolute favorites. (I think they tried to recreate some of that with Vala in the last couple seasons. I still love her, and I think her character was interesting. I just think they tried to remake some of the Jonas-and-Teal'c-fun with her.) Teal’c really took Jonas under his wing. He took one look at the smiling naive man and just went "this is a child. he is a literal child. i must protect him." (Although, that may just be Teal'c with the entirety of SG1...)

And one last thing! I will stand by the opinion that Jonas had no reason to leave. He made a home on earth. SG1 became his family. It took a while to get there, it wasn't easy because of what it took for him to join the SGC in the first place. But he made a home. And what? Suddenly he's just going to leave that because he's deemed useful by his home planet again? Come on. Be real. They were just looking for a way to write him off. And it's disappointing.

*gently pats back* Much like with Sterek being more popular than any ship they tried giving Scott, with Thiam also pulling away from whatever Scott's doing...instead of writing Theo back into the story, they just added another random Hale that'll probably be a Deus ex machina, whose age already confuses the fuck out of people and the time line....and hey, they're bringing back a canonly killed off character in Allison... God, I hate Jeff even more after writing this. THEY'RE BRINGING BACK A DEAD CHARACTER instead of asking Cody back and having a living character that'll be more natural to ease into the story.......

Ok i didn’t want to say anything bc i dont want to be too mean… but i instantly came to the conclusion he wasn’t asked bc tyler posey hates being upstaged. HEAR ME OUT and this is also just based on my personal observations… tyler posey is so obviously the one who’s made this all happen, he is the star and lets face it i think tw was his biggest roll and he hasnt been in anything to great since, so like I feel like he would have say in the script/casting/story and we all know he actively hated sterek SO there is a chance he has something to do with this

Now not to hate on him bc whatever i dont know him or his intentions, and maybe its JEFF actually who wants Scott to be the center of the show with no other characters/ships stealing the spotlight IDK

regardless, cody not being asked is INSANE and tbh maybe i wont even watch this stupid thing bc what is the point without him (for me) - i was resigned to dob not being in it, yk? Hes busy, so i kinda knew in my heart he wouldn’t be in it, but i was SO EXCITED for more Theo.. to think he wants to do it but simply wasnt asked is absolutely INSANE and to me, honestly hurtful as a loyal fan of this stupid show since I was 11 (yes i was one of those people who started watching when only the first season was on netflix lmao you see why i am so invested)

On another note, i am actually kind of (very apprehensively) happy that allison is coming back lol! I thought her death was done well, but also kind of the turning point of quality for the show in my opinion.. stiles and later theo was the shining light in a confusing, unintelligible storyline that was season 4 5 and 6b. So like Allison returning is a little bit like the glimmer of light in this pile of grabage (again, in my opinion)

I am so so so disappointed and hurt by this insane decision… if he was just busy or didnt want to be in it i would be sad but id get it, but not even being asked?? This feels like a purposeful, egotistical choice on someone’s part, be it tyler jeff or the other producers. I truly hope they get over themselves and get cody involved, bc by the way he’s spoke about tw since it ended and in the interview, i really really think he wants to play Theo again
