guys uh...I'm gonna stop playing Honkai Impact 3rd

Not because I'm burnout playing it, or that I don't have time, but the new characters, new world, new story and new...everything? just make it feel like I'm playing an entire new game

This new game, I'm quite optimistic about it really! I think it would be fun, and that people are going to love these characters and be further moved by the stories it'll have. I genuinely do trust HI3rd's team especially since it is mihoyo's favorite child (oh you know that's true)

But at the same time, I think I have wanted to do more in my life. All the new changes, and basically new game in this game, just don't interest me that much, and I think I would get burnt out if I kept playing a game that wasn't the same game anymore.

I'll keep it on my pc, and maybe just play it for Elysian Realm, Superstring dimension, and other random minigames as I want to. Essentially, I'm changing HI3rd from a near-daily investment to like any other classic video game, which is just There whenever you want to play it. No more daily investment. This is probably what's healthier for me since I'm just not that interested in the new content hahaha

Do I still want to talk about Honkai, and make fanart, and just engage with it? ABSOLUTELY!!! I have not stopped talking or thinking or drawing my blorbos my bbgs my darlings. Absolutely please still keep talking about it and having fun, and I still want to join in. Remember, fandom lives on far past the source material.

Will I cry about it though? Yeah I would lmao. I love love this game so much so telling myself to do other things in life instead would be kinda hard, but eh I have Genshin for that hahaha- Honkai has just changed so much, and I think it's time for me to let go of it more as well. This game has changed so much of my life for the better, and imbued me with a love for our own world and the people around me like nothing else. I literally live by "Fight for all that's beautiful in this world", I would have it tattooed if I could.

Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is let it go. With all the changes in this game, and how I'm changing as well, yeah I do think its time to put it at the sides.

There's so many other ways the meetup could have gone, but when it happens, I think we'll all be glad it happened the way it did :)

may i say something? i'm starting to get the feeling the qsmp fandom (secretly) enjoys these recent terrible events.

the outrage at wilbur is justified, but at a certain point it became about hating him instead of supporting shubble and other victims of domestic abuse. so many people felt they just had to add their 2 cents even when it was not necessary and did nothing to help the situation.

and now we have this situation with quackity studios. it had only been a couple of hours since the story broke and no one knew the extent of quackity's awareness of the behind the scenes situation and people were already bringing out the torches and pitchforks.

even now that quackity has quickly addressed the situation and apologized and promised to remedy it, people are still posting speculations and nitpicking/doomposting.

It's just the unfortunate part of social media which allows people to gain attention by adding on to already shitty situations. A lot of social media platform algorithms are based solely on interacts meaning people have figured out that rage baiting people can ultimately boost their audience.

It happened with both forever and wilbur where everyone started pitching in their own opinions.

Having an opinion on a situation is totally fine and sharing your opinion on situations as severe as these is totally fine.

But if it's obvious you're doing it for the sake of creating hate or gaining attention through interacts then it's not help anyone. It's just aggravating the situation and taking attention away from people who are actually trying to spreading awareness or provide important information as it gets buried by hate.

With the current situation, it's one that will be sorted behind the scenes and we will be told once it has reached a resolution. In no world does the community have the right to demand immediate results from the team or get upset when we're not given all the information. It is an in-house issue which will be sorted to the best of their ability after the investigation is concluded.

There's no use doom posting or sending mindless hate when we will never truly know what goes on behind the scenes.

Still thinking of that storyboard and Oscar's smirk and like, that theory of Oscar shutting down after the v8 finale due to the "death" of 6 of his friends.

I know a lot of people are doomposting about the merge and so, but this scenario makes more sense to me for a few reason:

1.- We had a time without Ozpin for exactly that, he shot down and locked himself on Oscar mind, if Oz can do that I don't see why Oscar can't do the same. Is something that as happened.

2.- Oz said he wanted to be part of the group (paraphrasing), what best way that taking care of the most vulnerable member of the (remaining) team.

3.- I know people shit on crwby's writing a lot but come on, they wouldn't conclude a narrative that is center plot of two characters, both extremely important in RWBY current timeline and in Remnant mythos, off-fucking-screen.

I do think that the merge plot is coming to an end more sooner than later, but not in this way, come on guys.

Look, old Tsukihime fans are like fish from the abyssal zone. They're so used to living without light and being completely abandoned by the world above that they've adapted to it. It's changed them. Twisted them into these strange forms necessary for survival in an environment that sees a single crumb once every 5 years

And then in 2021 they got a fucking whalefall with the Remake actually turning out to be real after being memed on since 2008 and they don't want it. They don't need it. They turn their noses up and go "No soul-hime" and go back to sustaining themselves on the one time Pako drew Ciel.

So when you see them doomposting about how it's so over and you think "What the fuck, we have more Tsukihime now than we've had in the last 15 years" you have to understand it's how they've survived desolation for twice as long as FGO's even been alive. That's just who they are now.

Obviously the event itself needed tweaking and there are some issues with balancing, but it’s not nearly as bad as the toxic fans are making it out to be. Red wasn’t guaranteed to lose and some of their issues were honestly just bad luck. Morale plays a huge part, and I’m saying that as a Tubbo fan who routinely watches him do worse than he should in competitive events just because he gets in his own head and doubts his own abilities. The vibes on the server are so different today as well. And even though Etoiles is the only one on for his team and green is in first and that seems really significant. It’s not as simple or as hopeless as everyone is making it out to be. Who knows what’s going to happen when they introduce the mini events or if they continue adjusting the rules.

idk. i think at the end of the day i dont rly mind if red is upset about the disadvantage i think its fine- what genuinely bothers me is all the doomposting and acting like this event is Bad because red isnt doing great. tbf etoiles has a lot of other materials from yesterday that red lost but it does stand that tasks alone can do a comeback.

and i do think its silly that people are like Red can never win when thats. not true. i get morale is low but they Can make a comeback. the event is 2 weeks. its been 2 days.

Yachiyo and Iroha I could understand, they're main characters. Holy Mami I could maybe see, she's an OG character and was a semi-major character in the anime (bigger in the game). But RENA???? That... doesn't feel like a good trajectory for these Anime Versions? If they'll just make any of the side characters into Anime Versions, it feels even grosser and cheaper, and it makes me sad and angry. The more come out, the more I worry for the game's lifespan and the devs' integrity.

This is something that Raz Anime discussed in one of his news sections a while back (I think it was either for the Anime Iroha announcement or the Anime Yachiyo one). I'm going to really badly summarize what I remember.

What is probably happening here is that the higher ups at the company want to promote the anime, and that's why these units are being made.

This next part is my own speculation built on what Raz said:

You'll note that these anime units don't come with their own respective events and they reuse animation. They're pretty cheap to make basically. Additionally, something really important to note is that the Anime Iroha unit reused animation from... season 2? And not season 3, which might seem strange at first, but I think is a sign that there are a bunch of pre-made anime units that the game will bust out whenever there is downtime... such as during ranked (Iroha) or during Kimochi (Rena).

Anyone who got a transformation scene in the anime can probably be assumed to get an anime version at some point.

So... yeah.

Personally, I've kinda made my peace with the anime units but I also feel really burnt out on all the limiteds lately. Remember when we didn't have a shit load of limiteds right after another? There used to be a period when you had unlimiteds in a row! Ugh. I know that's kind of rich since Himena just released, but I feel like my wallet is being attacked here.

The anime units don't really bother me since they're basically filler and give us something interesting (I guess???) during downtime BUT what I don't like is how damn good they are. Anime Rena looks to be a great aqua unit and that kind of pisses me off. From what I can tell, her gameplay looks like it's going to be fun. Her limited memoria from the gacha look great. I'm kind of mad though that this fun gameplay is being attached to an anime ver while unique characters like Himena have more lackluster gameplay.

And also: I can understand making Anime Mami. Her original version had some flaws, and the new anime version is more inline with how she is in the story. Anime Yachiyo also fits this-- she's become very powerful and strong, just like how she is in the story. Anime Iroha...? She works too I guess?

But Anime Rena...? I feel like her original version's gameplay already suited her character well enough, you know?

I don't want to doompost about the game though. I think that the new step-up gacha thing is probably bringing in lots of money, so I feel like the game is probably doing alright...? I dunno. augh.

But also, I'm glad that Rena fans are getting a new variant at least! Kind of a shame it's an anime version but...

Yknow in retrospect? this ending wasn't like. the worst we could've gotten. in the context of the specific time tommy apologises, it isn't in any of those other times where he could've if he was just. apologising to cdream. it was specifically as the nuke alarms went off, because it was going to drop.

which drastically changes the tone of that and i'm glad for it. i don't think the tweet he liked was like... him saying 'oh yea this is redemption' but more the understanding part (cause yknow as a victim myself, understanding someone who's hurt you in a way like that is smth that happens sometimes. it does. happened to me. still sucks shit but) and i don't think? it was handled entirely poorly?? it was just. rushed. that section should've been longer, and esp emphasised it wasn't about forgiveness or anything. understanding and trying to convince a fucking mad man to not become immortal under the guise of empathy (or maybe even empathy)? yea no not the worst way it could've gone.

It still finds a way to show and emphasise how kind tommy can be even when he's faced with the worst circumstances, how that's an innate character trait. Not the best way, by far, but it still did the job ig.

I think we're just doomposting everything cause of the great reset. If they don't start remembering each other quick I'm committing a murder (/j i'm not watching season 2 for a good while if ever.)

my tin hat is FIRMLY ON. the US has a 2 part immigration & customs process for border admission/international arrivals that doesn't allow for sterile transit (#post-9/11 homeland security measures), so everyone has to clear immigration at the first point of entry before getting on a connecting flight/moving through to customs. on visas:

When you arrive at the U.S. port of entry... a U.S. immigration officer will open your sealed packet and review it for completeness. If you have a connecting flight, be sure to allow several hours for this process... In the meantime, the officer will put a stamp in your passport to indicate that you are now a U.S. permanent resident… Your passport, with the visa and stamp, will serve as your temporary green card. it’s not an official source but other websites all seemed to say the same thing, and the description of this logic makes sense to me - i.e. first flight/entry is the ‘green card activation trip’ where immigration docs are checked over & officers confirm where your green card should be sent. your passport is stamped as proof of completing the immigration inspection. so the port of entry doesn’t have to be your ~final destination~, bc once you've through immigration you can travel normally as a US resident. it also kinda implies that here:

If the CBP officer admits you, you will then have lawful permanent resident status and be able to live and work in the United States permanently. (from step 7) (x)

looking at the US Customs & Border Protection website, I couldn't see any info about needing to travel to a specific location/port of entry for visas either - if that was the norm there’d be something about it. this was literally the only thing i saw referencing it:

CBP "designated ports of entry for optimized processing of first-time Canadian applicants for admission in the TN or L-1 categories...[which] ensures a more efficient approach to processing the high volume of...applicants"... "you may continue to go to any port of entry...for processing" (x) - (so presumably not a norm for other visa types/ports of entry(?), just streamlining immigration delays at the US/Canada border)

I can understand some anxiety about the series but at this point the doomposting is starting to get a Bit Much

1: adding “lore” to the osmp in no way implies that it’s gonna have a massive tone shift or that it’s gonna get soaked in angst and Ruin everything that people like about it. the sleepyrust server had lore, tommy’s mod videos have lore, hermitcraft has lore. it just means that wilbur is interested in starting a storyline, and wilbur is Perfectly Capable of working off of a silly environment.

season one of osmp was Literally developing a story where tommy was going to be the villain of the server, That Was Lore. I don’t understand the kneejerk reaction here, especially when we haven’t Seen or Heard anything about it. Relax homeboys

2: osmp existing does not mean that the dream smp is dead. wilbur wanting to tell another story doesn’t mean the dream smp is dead. stretching your creative muscles when you need to is a healthy part of creation in and of itself. it prevents burnout and helps keep motivation up. it’s no different from writing music or planning mod videos or starting sleepyrust and osmp in the first place, which has been happening throughout the existence of the dream smp.

the end of season three and set up for season four happened just fine without wilbur logging on, and we already know that he has plans to do dream smp lore before poking around on the osmp. wilbur is not the pin holding the dream smp together, it’s not going to fall apart if he decides to play a little guy for a while

i get easily sad and negative a lot of the time too, but recently ive been reminding myself to be more in the moment and i think it's helped a lot with doomposting. content is and will always be out of our hands. dteam were extremely active in 2020 but it's natural that they calmed and slowed down with content right now. they've been waiting to meet for 2 years and are finally close, and are most likely ready to try new forms of content. and as a fan I can self sabotage all I want by constantly being negative about the present and reminiscing on the past, but ultimately that won't change anything. instead of immediately getting down about missing dteam, I've just decided to go with the flow because I trust dream. he knows what he's doing, and we as fans can suggest anything under the sun, but it's up to him and the rest of dteam on what they choose to do. idk what this whole spiel is and I'm not all trying to be condescending, but I always see you get kinda sad on the dash after streams or videos and I just wanted to tell you that I get easily negative too but I've found a lot more tolerance and happiness when I make an effort to live and let live. cherish streams like the one we just had and have a healthy relationship with that negativity.

anon thank u seriously for taking the time to write this to me its funny my mom recently said the same thing to me about focusing on the moment since i tend to make myself upset by constantly imagining the future and its one of the only phrases thats rly stuck with me in bad times since and i never even thought to apply it to my negative thoughts about this but thats kind of perfect 😭 like ive said it before but i feel better after i do my long essays and get my thoughts out and i realize its bc it lets me enjoy stuff in the moment when its happening instead of dreading that is going to be over and its going to be gone for so long like this ask just made that click oh wow ….. part of it tho, esp that last part of live and let live, is difficult for me bc i think i just have a hard time maintaining healthy distances/relationships with interests and it always feels like if im not completely obsessed with something im just not into it at all and disconnecting from that obsession is so difficult for me since i spend so much time naturally even if i dont blog thinking about it. and theres also the constant feeling of “whens the next stream” after its over that makes u cant help but to look towards the future constantly in either both pos or negative ways depending on the time bc of the anticipation for more. but i fear that is just a skill i might need to develop or moreso a truth i need to accept (that the intensity of emotion and fun from an obsession of an interest is not worth it) 😞 but i think a good step towards a less constantly sad experience is being in the moment and focusing on what there is to enjoy now :))) thank u so much anon truly, this ask really meant a lot to me and i will rmr it for a long time ❤️❤️❤️
