would it be random if i just info dumped on this rare pair ship i've been obsessed with..?
eh ima do it anyways-
fair warning it could be like ooc or inaccurate this is just kinda my take on how it would work kinda making my own au for it ig ANYWAYS-
Transformers starrod dynamic?? :
-both under the shadows of previous leaders
-both had some type of admiration/ idolization/ slight infatuation with megatron that both ended up in disappointment and slight heartbreak, it wasn't love no it was a crush but both seemed to end on the most disappointing note on megatrons side
-could possibly get together under the demands/influence of peers/society since rodimus is a prime and starscream is now leader of cybertron, could be arranged
-use each other for their own self benefits and pleasure (complicated toxic yuri)
-”it's complicated” it really is but also isn't, their relationship is their own business
-everyone tells rodimus starscream is using him and ‘seducing/brainwashing’ him and that he's only going to break his heart. rodimus isn't stupid he knows but he also knows starscream would never do that (or at least has some hope)
-everyone tells starscream he's wrong for being with rodimus and to leave the prime alone or whatever but the seeker knows what he knows even if their relationship is complicated he's not going to let someone who doesn't know the true meaning of their relationship get to him (or at least tries to)
-maybe the mistress of flame has some significance… (idk her she just sounds important and relevant especially with rodimus)
-everyone wanted them together but their close friends (rodimus's) want them apart, starscream has had his fair share of “talks”of interrogation trying to get him to share his “true intent” with the prime (honestly it's an insult to him and his past trine)
- maybe they're still together out of pure spite?
-people may still try to act all sleezy around rodimus thinking it's all an act and fake. starscream still proves even after the war his talons are sharper than ever.
-jealous. starscream? jealous? of megatron? ha. don't make him laugh. yet his glare that could strike fear in most was pointed directly at the ex-decepticon leader. more specifically at the hand that was placed on a certain flame colored bots shoulder. no his wings didn't twitch in agitation. you've seen wrong, you don't understand how wing cant works.. and certainly the tiny spike of annoyance you felt in his field was just a figment of your imagination… yeah official meetings are certainly awkward, best to not interact with either of the pair…
-rodimus lives under the constant shadow of optimus wherever he goes people think he’s immature and naive when he is not, he acts like he doesn’t hear the jokes and whispers but he is no idiot everyone thinks he is and optimus does nothing but prove that
-i feel like their relationship as hot rod and optimus went from father and son like to disappointment and underestimation after he became Rodimus Prime
- seeing megatron with Optimus hurt them both. as a form of betrayal on rodimus’s end and as a form of anger for starscream. betrayal because he had trusted megatron with his troubles of never being good as the optimus prime. anger because no matter what happens even if that war is over megatron will always get his way. he gets his prime.
-the war is over but their idolized leaders had left a mess in their hands. now it’s their job to fix it. but hey. they’re happy together now, they’re proof everyone is at peace.
-”they think you're an idiot. they think you're naïve.”
“and they think you're not fit to be a ruler. they think you're selfish.”
“they think. and do you believe them?”
“do you..?”
“i know what i know, and i know how to prove them wrong.”
(i mean if anyone wanted to write for this concept don't let me stop you if anything pleases tag me cuz i crave content for these two😍 i love how complicated they are)

Y'know the thing about writing feral/unhinged versions of Orion/Optimus, is that you can't go too far into the feral/unhinged direction to a point where OP's core character traits are lost or become too diminished. After all, in a multiple-continuity franchise like TF, part of what makes the stories make sense is that even if details change (sometimes major details), the characters are still recognizably themselves to one degree or another. (Although this isn't always the case due to executive meddling or some characters being such blank slates from their initial G1 appearances that there's basically nothing to model them off of, but I digress.)
It's pretty much another reason why I love IDW1 Optimus, bc he literally is a canonical feral/unhinged Optimus who's unhinged as a direct consequence of who he is as a person and what he's been through. Like, he still has those fundamental character traits of trying his best to be moral and make good choices, trying to be a role model, etc, except after 4 million years of war and untreated depression he's basically holding onto his sense of self by his fingertips. So when he "goes feral" e.g. losing his temper and beating up/killing people or saying hurtful things, he's feral in a way that's directly tied to his normal personality and not just as a random quirk he has.
IDW OP's feral moments arise from the gaps between "Optimus' attempts to be who he thinks he needs to be" and "the reality of the world that he can't fix/seems to only make worse" that cause him to lose hope, or become cynical, or lose his temper. But in this case, the unhinged-ness makes perfect sense because it arises out of Optimus trying and failing to be the best person or to make the most morally good choices he's trying to make. Basically, the "feral/unhinged" label is just another way of me trying to say that he's not just unhinged because he's weird or because he's a bad person, but because it's an emotional reaction (more like an emotional explosion due to pent-up emotions) to the context he exists in.
I'd also say that IDW OP's personality being generally reserved/stoic and (trying to be) noble works in tandem with those moments he has of going feral because it makes him more realistic. His psyche is treated in a way where the writers are like, "Hey what if the pressure of having to be everyone's idol and be the best person in the galaxy at all times actually broke Optimus down mentally and emotionally?" It makes IDW OP far more relatable. Instead of naturally being a perfect Christ-like figure who never wavers in his morals or convictions and is just naturally a nice person who always has the wisest and best answer, being a good person is something that IDW OP has to consciously strive to be. Even when he feels like it's useless, or the cycle of violence will never stop, or any attempts he makes to help only ends up with things becoming worse.
And I feel like this does a service not only to IDW Optimus as a character, but also as a sort of moral/philosophical perspective for the reader to ponder upon? I feel like culture at large (or at least my experience of it) tends to believe that "goodness" in a person is simply an innate feature that people are born/not born with, and that being "good" means that you must be good at all times, both in your actions as well as the way you feel emotionally about yourself and the world. Like, there's a tendency for our vision of "a good person" to be good in every aspect at all times without having to try to be a good person. So I think IDW Optimus' character stands as a good example of how someone can be good at heart but still struggle to maintain those feelings of optimism and hope and justice. It's a good idea to have such a paragon of a character (in-universe and out-of-universe) be so conflicted and to even be mistaken, misguided, or make things worse because it shows that goodness is as much about "trying to behave/act in a way that is good" and not just "existing as an innately good person."
It's way more realistic for a person to want to be good, try to be good, and sometimes/often fail than it is for them to just be a good person. I enjoy the fact that IDW Optimus is both a good person at heart, but also has to strive to be a good person and live up to other people's expectations of what they see in him. I like how he wants to be a good person and change society for the better, but he also spends a good amount of time either feeling hopeless and alone or being angry at/detached from other people because of how frustrated they make him. He's realistically portrayed as someone who wants to be good and hopeful and change things for the better, but is also mentally and emotionally broken by that burden because of how impossible it is for him to Fix Everything and be the Perfect Prime/Leader/Autobot that people see him as. It's this fascinating mixture of "yes, this is who he is as a person" but also "there are things he desires to be that he could never possibly become or live up to."
This got really far off based from feral/unhinged Optimus sdklfjaslkdlfkas. The TLDR is that if people want unhinged OP, I feel like they should give IDW OP a chance because he IS unhinged but he's unhinged in a way that's a realistic/thematic representation of how being an Absolute Good is impossible. And how being a good person isn't just about Existing And You Are A Good Person, but rather goodness is a constant state of flux in which you adjust, you make mistakes, you lose your temper and feel hopeless, but then you pick yourself up and try again.
Tumblr media
Also IDW OP really likes climbing in dangerous wilderness and jumping out of flying vehicles which I think is very feral and sexy of him to do.
#squiggposting#idw op love#idk if i adequately explained it in the body of the post. but i really do feel some kind of way about the idea of like#being a good person isn't about just being static. always being the same person. just naturally being good and nice all teh time#but rather being a good person will cause you to be CHALLENGED and being a good person calls you to ACT#and you WILL make mistakes. there's never a situation in which you're all wise and always have the right solution or are infinitely patient#but goodness is something you can CHOOSE something you can BECOME and you can still have negative emotions and CHOOSE to be good#like being a good person is a continuous process of self improvement. you aren't just born a good person#and i'm not trying to tear down the notion of 'goodness' or say it doesn't exist#rather i'm trying to say that it's far more comforting to hear that you don't have to be The Best Person at all times#it's comforting to know that good people aren't just Effortlessly Good because they were Just Born That Way Naturally#there certainly are some people like that but most of us aren't like that. and i just like idw op for that reason#he shows that like. you can be a fucked up mentally ill guy who despairs and loses his temper and is basically suicidal#but you also still genuinely try to be hopeful and try to help others. like you are good because you Try To Be Good#and you Try To Hold Onto Your Principles bc giving up or becoming evil isn't an option for you#but also trying to be A Good Person drives you fucking crazy bc we live in a universe where that perfect good simply isn't possible#so the result is an optimus who's at once Noble Paragon and Unhinged bc he's unhinged as a result of trying to be a paragon

I have no idea if your asks are open, but if they aren’t feel free to delete this ^^”
I’d like to request a human gn reader giving the verbal backlash of a lifetime to someone (preferably Agent Fowler or June) who’s rude/scolding Optimus after he makes a decision that they don’t really like at first but was VERY necessary for the best possible outcome. I hate how they treat OP, and he just sits there and takes it T-T He needs someone to defend him smh. Like he’s got the weight of not just one, but TWO worlds on his shoulders cut him some SLACK.
(Sorry for the rant lol, thank you if you decide to write this and have a good day ^^)
i couldn't agree more tbh, he has sm pressure and doesn't deserve it </3
Tumblr media
no content warnings ,, romantic implications but can be read as platonic ,, gender neutral & no specific species listed ★
Tumblr media
everyone is very taken aback; all the autobots just stare silently while agent fowler tries to create a response
you're not done w him tho, you end up going on for several more minutes about how he doesn't even consider optimus' feelings and how hard it is for him as the leader
AND bringing up how hard optimus and everyone on team prime has worked to protect the earth and humanity
pretty sure fowler was internally crying by this point
you probably would end up leaving angrily, and you'd be left alone for a bit until one of the autobots would join you
arcee might be the first to try to talk, mostly because she was really impressed by how you handled the situation. not many people have the guts to be that brutally honest with fowler like that
optimus probably wouldn't say much to start off, but when you two have some time alone he would thank you for defending him
poor guy isn't used to others thinking ab his feelings and it meant a lot that you stood up for him :[
he also really admired your courage, he never expected smth like that coming from you. he would spend a lot of time thinking about the event, and ratchet would probably ask him why he actually looks happy for once
he knows that you always have his back, whether physically or verbally, and it's yet another reason he appreciates you sm. makes a mental note to return the favor, and is a bit more protective of you as well in the future :]
istg he is SO DENSE, but his spark warms whenever he thinks of having you by his side <3
Tumblr media
thank you for reading!! remember to stretch your back ^^

Mikey: But that, you know, you bring up Prime, how do you view him in the middle of this? Because he's certainly the, probably the most debated version of the character I've ever seen. John Barber: Yeah, I mean… I hope so, I think he is… When I first started this stuff and I went back and I read all the IDW comics and tried to get a beat on who some of the characters were, and to some degree, kind of really tried to think through like, what if all this stuff happened? Even though in the concrete reality of the way the comics were made, Optimus acts differently because a different writer wrote him, you know. But in real life we don't always act the same. We act differently around different people even if we are intrinsically the same person at any point, we aren't as consistent as fictional characters are. So there's an element of reality to that that was kind of interesting and I was kind of trying to figure out, well, look if you have the way Mike Costa was writing him, plus the way Simon Furman was writing him and… gotta blame everything on Mike and Simon (laughs). But like, you know, and then a big dose of who do I think he is. And he wasn't in the first, year of RID, you know, a little longer than that even, first year and a half or so, two years almost. So it wasn't like I was-, I knew he would be there at some point, but it wasn't like… I mean, excuse me, I knew that if the series didn't get cancelled, he would be there at some point. But I didn't know that would happen, I didn't know we'd wind up going as long as we did. But yeah, so gave me some time to think about, you know, a guy that was a great war leader and somebody trying to be a good person, somebody that's not trying to do villainous things ever. I don't think that's ever a thing that he does, but in a reality where a lot of times there isn't a right choice, there's just a less wrong choice, you know, what choices can you have when being right is what you're all about? You know, like, when the honor and goodness is the main thing with you, where do you, I don't know, how do you maintain that in a world where the idea of right has shifted?

TFP Autobots and how they comfort others
Tumblr media
Optimus Prime:
I think he can have a very comforting vibe to him when he wants to, for a lot of the autobots he's considered an older brother figure, father figure, and overall a trusted adult figure to speak with
For younger people such as bumblebee, smokescreen and the kids, he gives soft smiles and reassurance if something is troubling them
Optimus isn't big on physical touch but he'll put a hand on one's shoulder as his main way of comforting them or calming them down
For a bit older characters, like arcee and bulkhead, he comforts them the same way but a bit more maturely if that makes sense? Like he won't sugarcoat anything around them, but he won't be harsh or anything
Ratchet is definitely someone Optimus feels like he can let his guard down around, so that means the same goes for ratchet
Optimus knows the old bot and how he sometimes feels he isnt enough, so optimus makes sure to reassure ratchet and remind him that he is an important part of the team, and family
Overall, his main way of comforting people is reassuring words and the 'hand on the shoulder' thing dads do lol
Tumblr media
Arcee:
Arcee is a great listener, and lets people rant to her to get things off their chests
We see her comfort Miko when Bulkhead was injured; both of them sat up top while Arcee reminded Miko that closing yourself off from everyone wouldn't help the situation
Based off of this, I think that Arcee is also very good at giving advice when trying to comfort people
She'll listen, and then give her thoughts on the situation
She keeps it real too, doesn't matter if it's Miko, Bulkhead, Bee, etc., she won't sugarcoat things
When Raf got hurt, we see Arcee sternly exclaiming to Bee to keep his emotions in check
She's been through a LOT, so she understands being angry, scared, feeling helpless
But she uses those experiences to help others get through tough situations
Tumblr media
Bumblebee:
I think Bumblebee's way of comforting people would be physical touch, since he's not able to express himself through words very well
This involves a pat on the back if one of his friends are feeling down or disappointed, a hug if it's a bit more serious, and just things like that
Spending time with them would be a big way of Bee trying to cheer someone up too
For example, if Raf had a bad day, Bumblebee would take him for a spin around Jasper (Also I believe it's canon that they go out and play with Raf's little racing car and that's just the cutest shit ever I love them sm)
He's picked up some traits from Optimus, so when Bee got his voice back he probably tried a more "Optimus" approach to comforting people, but overall he does his absolute best to cheer up and help whoever needs it
Tumblr media
Bulkhead:
(ignore the pic being rly small lol)
I honestly don't see enough love for this big guy
I'd say he would be one of the most comforting people to be around
If it's someone he knows really well, so pretty much anyone in team prime, he's gonna do his absolute best to help them out with whatever's bothering them
He may not always have the right words though
So I think that, similar to Bumblebee, he'll stick mainly to physical touch, and Bulkhead would try to distract the person too
Like if Miko was upset about something, he would put on some music she really likes to get her mind off of it
However, people like Arcee probably wouldn't want a distraction, or just can't handle any distraction at the moment
That's when Bulkhead will listen and give any advice of his own, as well as hug whoever's feeling down (if they're ok with it)
Tumblr media
Ratchet
He doesn't care. (he cares very much and wants to help)
Ratchet's just not the best at expressing it, he'll comfort others in subtle ways
If one of the humans were noticeably in a bad mood, Ratchet might start a conversation with them and slowly ease into the topic of whatever's upsetting them
He's definitely not big on physical touch, so I'd say his main way of comforting a person is talking it out and listening
He would offer solutions too
For the bots, I think it depends on the situation; if one of them were having some sort of flashback, or severely injured, Ratchet would immediately jump to comfort/help them
However if it's a more milder situation, he'll talk it out with them or just simply leave it to someone who's a bit better at this type of stuff
One of the ways we see him comfort someone in the show is the episode where something was up with Bumblebee, so Ratchet had to pick Raf up from school
We see him be pretty silent at the beginning but he eventually says, "Wanna ride with the sirens on?"
Even if he normally was against it, Ratchet's willing to break through his "I don't care" front he puts up, so he can help those he cares about most

I wanna talk about Transformers Armada Starscream for a hot minute okay.
After a few decades when I last saw the show and with no platform to speak about it. He didn't deserve to die the way he did.
He wanted to make someone proud and what he did? He took on a literal God of Death and Destruction Unicorn all because Megatron or Optimus to be proud of him.
He still gives me a teenager vibes, a teenager whose parents never paid attention to and never cared.
In every Transformers series before and after Transformers Armada , Starscream was always depicted as scheming and always up to no good, but Transformers Armada Starscream was a breath of fresh air.
I'm not saying that the other Starscreams in the Transformers franchise are shallow and lack personality, but I personally think Transformers Armada Starscream has more personality.
PSA! No shade to Transformers Prime Starscream, he also has a personality that is a breath of fresh air and I honestly want to see more where Starscream isn't a scheming little guy and is a guy who later in the show jumps ship bc he realizes that he doesn't like Megatron's abuse.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

As it is obvious from my blog, I adore TFP. It is the first Transformers show I've watched (I remember watching tf content before, yet i can't remember which it was). Yet as always, I have some criticism even to my most beloved things and now I want to talk about one of these. And the name to him is Dreadwing.
Tumblr media
Dreadwing is particularly interesting cuz he seems like one sane person in the whole Nemesis, who is undeniably loyal to the cause. Something that even Megatron isn't anymore. Dreadwing is a great example of what the decepticon should be. Fierce, strong, yet smart, noble, loyal and respectful to his own team. And this is an interesting since we've never seen this before, cuz everyone else on Nemesis strayed from this path and just using this cause as a way of manipulation. And still Dreadwing was most loyal to Megatron, with the only thing standing between him and total obedience is his love for his late brother (Skyquake, hun, sorry, but I literally forgot abt you the moment you died).
And this is a great start, but all this potential was, at least for me, wasted.
Tumblr media
Firstly. His position which he came in the show. He was presented to us as a) a threat; b) Wheeljack's enemy/rival. And that's when my first problem starts here. Let's look at the statistics.
Optimus prime — Megatron
Ratchet — KO (or Shockwave)
Bumblebee — KO
Bulkhead — Breakdown
Arcee — Arachnid
Smokescreen — KO (why does he have a beef with every child in the group?)
Ultra Magnus — Predaking
And then Wheeljack is like — ?????
And yeah, I am upset abt lack of Wheeljack in TFP, but it's relevant to my Dreadwing rant, since all the others I've mentioned has met at least once/twice and had some resolution to their rivalry (even though not the good one), but cowboy loose cannon and a flying samurai never even mention each other after their episode. It is cuz Wheeljack really likes to disappear from the plot for Primus knows how long, while this Seeker stays through all the season 2 until my greatest disappointment came.
Secondly, Dreadwing's death is the dumbest scrap I've seen and looks like a very rude way to get rid of character. I still have no idea of why Megan chose Starscream over someone who's loyal to you to the point of disobeying to save ur tailpipe! And don't start the 'but DW disobeyed him', WING BOY WAS PROMOTED FOR IT.
Furthermore, from the moment I saw him even if I thought DW was to die, I considered it would happen in a battle with Wheeljack. It would be so interesting to see a death match between two guys, madly loyal to their friends/family/team. But nahh, Jackie never tries to go after winged edgelord ever again and never even ask if he's up to rematch.
(Also, funny how Dreadwing is so mad at SS for bringing Skyquake back to life as a zombie, but not at Bee and OP for literally killing him..... Priorities, huh.. Just another scrap u to Starscream for no reason.)

Hello hear me out. Fusing a bunch of good ships.
Dreadwing x Optimus x Ultra Magnus x Predaking
Local married trucks each get a boyfriend after convincing them to switch sides. Soon enough it turns into a full polycule.
Local ex decepticons have no idea how it happened but they are NOT going to complain. They're both very possessive and protective of their big-hearted boyfriends.
Ooooooooooo this is good!!!!!!! Ultra Magnus and Optimus have been together for a long time, but have been separated cause of the war... :( Optimus isn't even sure if his husband is alive :(((
Optimus does manage to convince Dreadwing to join the autobots this time around, well, not 'join' them so much as become a neutral who lives with them. He'll have a greater chance to avenge skyquake with the autobots help after all. It's a mess, it takes forever for everyone to even start to get along but Optimus is just happy it worked. And maybe happy he gets to spend more time with Dreadwing... He didn't expect to like the former decepticon as much as he does. They get close, really really close...
(ironically enough I think Dreadwing and Arcee are chill with each other compared to everyone else just because they both bond over wanting to rip Starscream's face off. It's the little things that bring people together ❤️)
Tumblr media
And then Ultra Magnus arrives on earth! Drama! Jealously!! Action- nah I'm kidding I think they get along pretty well. Optimus and dreadwing haven't really figured out their feelings yet, but Optimus and Ultra Magnus have a long talk about Dreadwing and I think they've always had a very loving free relationship ❤️❤️
Also I think Dreadwing and Ultra Magnus would just get along in general. In a non war au they should be friends!
And then, during the fight with Predaking, Ultra Magnus gets taken. Dreadwing's showing up tipped the scales for the autobots but Predaking still wants answers! He needs someone to answer for his kin needlessly dying!!! And that's how he finds out it was the cons who caused it. Drama! Horror!!! Romance!!!!!!! Wait- romance!?!? 😳😳😳😳
Anyways they have a thing™ going on and Ultra Magnus manages to clumsly convince Predaking to return to the autobots with him.
The bed situation in the autobot base is dire 😭 4 of the biggest guys wanna share a bed and that is NOT an option, they don't have enough room, truly tragic.....sometimes of course they want to sleep one on one, including a few memorably times Ultra and Optimus wanted to sleep together and Predaking and Dreadwing had to curl up together ('had to' acting like they didn't willingly curl up together they just didn't want to admit it)
Aughhhh it's all so cute... Good ending for all...

How would the tfp cons and bots react to finding a bunch of sparkling in an escape pod
I headcannon that sparklings are tiny enough for humans to hold their entire bodies and look like loaf blobs and make beeping sounds
I hope this is good, because I'm gonna be totally honest: I know next to nothing about sparklings. I know they're pretty much baby Cybertronians, but that's about it. Are they canon? Idk but here goes nothing😂
TFP Autobots Reaction to Sparklings in an Escape Pod
Optimus Prime:
-Dad mode activated
"As Autobots, it is our duty to protect any life on this planet. Especially small fragile life, be it humans, or sparklings."
-He'd assign the other Bots tasks to look after them whenever he can't do it himself. In fact, he lets the humans care for them as well
Miko: "We have to take care of Cybertronian babies instead of going on missions? Laaame!"
Jack: "Well, Miko, maybe this is how the Bots always feel having to constantly look after YOU."
Miko: "Phht. Rude."
Ratchet:
-Oh boy, he's NOT happy
-He'd mutter to himself:
"Oh, joy. Another small, loud creature to distract me from work. How have I managed to get reduced to the team babysitter?"
-He'd have a harder time connecting with the sparklings than with the children, because at least the human kids can TALK.
-In fact, having the sparklings around might bring Ratchet closer to the humans, since he's on the same boat as them, not wanting the responsibility of caring for sparklings
-He isn't a MONSTER, though. Of COURSE he grows to love the sparklings eventually. He's a softy, deep down
Arcee:
-Where IS Arcee, anyway? Nobody's seen her much since Optimus assigned Team Prime tasks involving caring for the sparklings. She said: "I'm going for a drive" and peaced out.
-In short, Arcee is having NONE of this
-Babysitting? No thank you.
-She leaves the MOMENT anyone asks her to feed the sparklings some energon. And she takes Jack with her. Byeeeeeee.
Bulkhead:
"Uhhh...Are we gonna have to take care of them?"
-What a silly guy. He's doing his best.
-He has NO clue what he's doing, though. Like he said, on Cybertron, he was a laborer. He's never cared for a sparkling in his life
-Not to mention Miko's judging him harshly for even trying😂
Miko: "Bulk, we're supposed to be smashing Con tailpipes! When did YOU become some kind of nurse, looking after toddlers? Isn't that RATCHET'S job?"
Ratchet: "YEPYEPYEPYEP that is NOT my job!!!!!!!😤"
-Bulkhead's like:
"Uhh...how much do you feed sparklings again?"
-At least he's trying
Bumblebee:
-He's probably the best at caring for the sparklings, next to Optimus, and he has no problem doing it, once they find them in the escape pod
-If Optimus is the serious, responsible caretaker, Bumblebee is the more fun one
-He plays with the sparklings, and takes them for rides
-Raf helps out, as well
-It's adorable
Wheeljack:
-Bulkhead dragged him along to help care for the sparklings, but he's taking Miko's side. He isn't feeling it.
"If you want me to go soft, you've got another thing comin'."
-Once the sparklings are of age, he'll gladly teach them to be Wreckers
-But until then, he'll try to explain to them how grenades work whenever Bulkhead isn't looking. They don't understand what he's saying, of course, because they're only sparklings, but you've gotta start them young.
Ultra Magnus:
-He's kinda like a supervisor
-He knows exactly what the sparklings need, and when, but whatever the need is, he isn't going to attend to it himself
-He mainly dishes out orders and tells everyone else what to do.
-He doesn't mean to be rude. He's just used to being a commander. During the war, sparklings had to be protected from explosions and whatnot, so he saw to it that soldiers under his command took care of them.
-If anyone could convince Arcee to come back though, it's him, so at least there's that
Smokescreen:
-Chaotic fun uncle energy
-You'd have to keep an eye on Smokescreen at ALL TIMES, because, when the sparklings are under HIS watch, it's pure anarchy
-He'd probably let them drink engex (Cybertronian version of alcohol) and teach them how to conduct pranks on Ultra Magnus
-He's a "no rules" guardian
-Really, Team Prime has to babysit HIM more than the sparklings

Thrill of the Hunt
There are different ways to teach a young beastformer how to hunt and every struggle that can come from it.
Take Dinobot, for example, sharp movements confusing his prey while he is only a distraction, searching out to the point Talon is supposed to emerge from, only to see the young bot jump before he was supposed to do so, startling the prey, his strange human form changing a bit to show his cybertronian frame, no sharp dentae or big claws to help, being easily ran over by the bigger prey and sustaining heavy physical damage, Dinobot doesn't cease his pursuit, looking at the sparkling for a second and even hitting him with his tail before disappearing in the vegetation, "Talon! Get back on your pedes and show the endurance of a warrior!" Talon can only try to get his face out the dirt, seeing his leg looking backwards, some wires are poking out, energon leaking in drops, still hearing Dinobot scream out to him to hurry up and return to the chase if he wants to eat something by the end of the day, Talon can only inhale deeply and close his optics, praying to Primus to help him guide his hand to try what he is thinking because the last thing he wants is to bleed to death, putting his servos on his pede before twisting it back, the whole jungle hearing metal being crushed and his shout of pain, some flying bots get startled by it.
Dinobot is hard with Talon because he cares, how is your sparkling going to survive if he doesn't teach him to hunt by himself?! Talon just wanted to go foraging that morning, now Dinobot has to search for a healer.
Take Cheetor for another example, looking at his sparkling, already a grown bot, such a big one while at it, he is quite bored if he is being honest, but it's obvious that speed isn't for Viperus, who likes to settle in a hidden place underground, he takes on his sparkling's preference, but when he sees the prey in front of him it's so hard to keep down, "When you see the prey you must act upon it fast, Viper!" It's what the great snake beastformer hears before he sees his sire run to the prey, snarling and also launching himself out of his hideout, using his massive tail to almost jump in the air, it's a great surprise to Cheetor just how big his sparkling is, big enough to open his intake and chew him and the prey together in one motion, Viperus has to stop, think for a moment and the next he is taking the cheetah out of his body, throwing up, "What in the pit, dad?!" Cheetor is drenched in drool, still, he looks at the prey next to him, then at Viperus, putting both of his paws on the big snake's face with a smile on his soft face while showing some sharp dentae, "You did a good job, Viper!" Cheetor let's his son take his bipedal form, two times bigger than him, and take the fruits of the successful hunt back home to you.
Cheetor is always supportive of Viperus in any way he can be, almost being a hyperactive cheerleader, Viper is just waiting for a prey to appear and his father to disappear because he wants to keep a mysterious guy persona.
Optimus, for a change, is an omnivore, he is happy to hunt sometimes to provide for his people, the younger ones taking on prey to keep growing stronger, but he prefers to simply consume fruit and some leaves rich in energon, Toshio isn't a beastformer and more than once Optimus has been worried for his son, how can he survive in Eukaris? Still, he doesn't give up, if there is something that Toshio has taken from Optimus is his will to improve and keep on, using tramps in order to catch prey and many other tools his father has taught him how to use and do, some tribe members are surprised when the whole hunt party returns empty handed and Toshio comes back alone and with little prey on his back, edible and medicinal plants on his hands that he dries under the sun, "I'll cook something later" he tells to the bots looking at him with surprise, later on sharing what he has caught equitably, Optimus can only laugh at his kid's actions and accept what he has recollected for him too, thinking once again that Toshio is going to be a great tribe leader in the future.
Optimus looks at Toshio with pride, something he knows you would also share if you were with them.

It's been FAR too long since I've posted about Crosshairs/on this account at all, and somehow I still have tons of people interacting with the content....so thank you very much!!!!
Today I wanted to kinda approach a subject I inch away from because everyone has their own perspective and views on crosshairs as a character. Simply because a lot of his personality you have to makeup with the lack of attention placed on him in Bayverse.
I think though that I have a pretty good feeling of his character so I figured I'd share some things with people after analyzing him in the movies (a million times)
Section 1 (Teamwork)
One of Crosshairs biggest "made up" traits is that he hates teamwork, which is kind of just this generalized idea bout him which just isn't true at all!! Infact, he's one of the only Cybertronians in the movie to actively partake in on screen teamwork! (with drift actually, three times!)
I won't get heavily into the teamwork between the two, because I could infact go on forever but the tag team with onslaught, when fighting Megatron in The last night, and once more in Age of Extinction! Which is hard to tell because you don't see it, but they switch dinobots/ride the same dinobot multiple times if you count the number of dinobots without a autobot on em!
Crosshairs overall ability to work with other people is EXTREMELY overlooked because of his opening scenes in AOE, which I totally understand!
Another pet peeve of mine is when people call him the starscream of the autobots, don't get me wrong! Love starscream, but Crosshairs is just....the complete opposite. Starscream places actual effort into harming Megatron and/or taking his place. Crosshairs talks big yes, but never raises a hand to prime and is one of the only bots who just shuts up and doesn't go against OP's orders OR makes a snarky comment. When it comes to Optimus prime, it seems he has a lot of respect that he doesn't know how to deal with. This point just gets proven more in the end of AOE when Optimus "tames" grimlock.
Mini section 2 (Accent)
This one is pretty well known information, but I have seen people confuse his accent for Australian or something similar to it. It is infact British and NOT Australian.
Section 3 (Redditors)
I might get....a little passionate in this section, just simply because this makes me very upset. The whole argument that Crosshairs was written by a child (which surprisingly was said a lot) and that his Design is slighty weird.
Firstly, Crosshairs entire character is NOT classic generic hero. Infact, most people see him as the farthest thing, some people don't see him as hero at all!!! Crosshairs has a undeniable ability to hate what he does, but is amazing at it regardless.
While he may not want to do it, (which might be tied into his past, that I won't get into becauase I've already gotten into it before in a previous post) he always always does and he's never actually left anyone behind or betrayed anyone. Crosshairs character is extremely in depth, not because he's "edgy" or because he's just this mean stereotypical character. It's because he simply is just that kind of guy.
When you think of Crosshairs personality, try to picture a fun guy, topped off with this irritable personality, a gruff exterior but sort of soft on the inside obviously. He never admits how much good he wants to do in the world, becauase why would he do that? Crosshairs is definitely a believer in the "actions mean more than words"
To Top it All Off?
"why doesn't he have a sniper rifle"
Firstly, if he had a sniper rifle: that'd be amazing. And a great element to include. Imagine him being all mysterious, hiding with a sniper rifle!
But unfortunately he has the point blank guns because, screentime, it looks better, and of course the Bayverse syndrome where your weapon has to match your personality!

Villainous Nights Fanfiction
Like fully two years ago I started writing a Villainous Nights AU where MC got recruited by Optimus before the Syndicate found her. I've stopped writing it, but I've always liked this scene and I'm sick of scrolling past it in my wips and being sad it won't be used, so here it is.
3500 words, MC x Juliette (Monarch & Bat too, I guess)
When I glance at the screen, it's to find an incoming call from one of my contacts- specifically, from Bat.
I'd be the first to admit I've been pretty forgetful lately- How could I not be? Thanks to all the hit and run attacks the Syndicate have been making lately, I’ve been basically working nonstop. I’m tired in a way that sleeping doesn’t even fix but, even so, I’m pretty sure I would remember saving one of the guys who are trying to kill me as a contact.
Did he like, hack into my phone and add this? Is that a thing you can do? I guess it's probably a thing he can do. His name is listed as "Bat- Just wanna talk", which is… well, it’s in character for him, if nothing else. He does like to talk.
After taking a quick, guilty glance around to make sure I'm mostly alone (I'm not strictly sure if I'd be allowed to accept calls from the people the company is actively at war with), I answer the phone, heart pounding in my ears.
"Hey, Monarch," says Bat, even now sounding as awkwardly, inappropriately casual as ever.
I scoff. It's an angry sound, and I realise that I am angry. How dare he know who I am? We had such a good thing going, the Syndicate and I. It was like a game- A high stakes game that sometimes resulted in broken bones but, you know. It felt like there was respect there.
"You might as well just use my real name," I say, and it comes out as a growl through my gritted teeth. "What's this about, dude? Just trying to scare me? Because congrats, yeah, it's working."
A sudden intake of breath. Then, "No- no, Monarch, uh... Lana. This isn't a threat- okay so, in retrospect? I can see how this-"
"Oh, it's not a threat?" I hiss. "That's funny, because I am feeling exceptionally threatened. I swear, Bat, if the Syndicate goes after my-"
"The Syndicate doesn't know who you are, Lana!" he says, cutting me off. "I do. Just me. I haven't told anyone else. I really do want to talk, just the two of us."
Well. Okay. That shuts me up. I take a moment- there's just a lot to unpack with that. Bat knows who I am, and is calling me "just to talk", and wants to keep the rest of the Syndicate out of it. I... can probably work with this.
Toning down the aggression a notch, I say, "So, what is this, then? Are you looking for a job, Bat? Should I put you through to HR? There’s a couple positions open, actually."
I regret making the joke instantly- that particular wound’s still pretty raw for me- but Bat does laugh. He says, "No, I'm good, thanks. And I'm no turncoat- the Syndicate knows I'm calling you, just not who you are."
"Wait, so you're saying that they know that you know- and they're okay with you keeping it a secret?" I ask, dubiously. "Even Murderpants McKnifeguy?"
Bat snorts. He says, "They're... well, they can't do much about it, really. I'm kinda irreplaceable? They love me for my big genius brain and stuff. But yes, Falcon is extremely pissed."
"Yeah, I bet."
"It helps that I'm kinda keeping away from them, also," he admits. "Full disclosure? Everyone's shouting at me today, it completely blows. But that's not why I'm calling you."
Even though every suspicious instinct Optimus drilled into me is telling me to hang up, to go tell Rene or someone about the intrusion, to run screaming to Juliette's apartment to make sure she's okay, I have the strangest urge to just give Bat a chance.
It's true that he's always seemed a little different to the rest of his team. He rarely makes an appearance in person, and only seems to fight under sufferance- he's treated almost like a consultant. Could he have different goals? Goals that don't involve spearing me with ice lances or burying me under tons of rock?
I say, "Okay, I'll bite. What's this about?"
"I'd like to meet with you in person," he says, after a long moment of hesitation. He quickly amends, "In costume, obviously. Both of us. We can make it look like an accident during one of your patrols."
Oh, that sounds safe. I ask, "What's wrong with talking over the phone? And also, why would I keep this a secret from Optimus?"
"I want to give you something, and I need to make sure you actually get it," he says, then he chuckles a little nervously. "And as for the secret thing… You don't have to, but I'll be meeting you alone. Ideally, Scarlet Brighid won't show up and break my spine. I'd like it if we could both trust each other, here."
Ironically, the grisly description helps me relax. He's not wrong- even if he's lying through his teeth, I'm the one with the army of megacorp superheroes as backup. But if he's telling the truth… No, I can’t risk letting Scarlet show up to do her thing. Enemy or not, I don't want the man dead.
And so, just under an hour later, I make a tiny alteration to my patrol path, with Rene's permission. I started a little late, so I'm in a little bit of a rush- the second I cut the connection with Bat, I called Juliette to make certain that she was completely fine and un-kidnapped, and I ended up soaking in the reassurance of her voice for a bit longer than I should have. I wanted so badly to just tell her why I was freaking out, but...
Well. Lying to her sucks, but lying to Rene is starting to come pretty naturally. The trick is tying the lie to something vague that they can't reasonably predict- for example, it's easy for me to just tell them that I'm 'checking out some unusual activity' as I pass the location that Bat specified, a construction site that's nice and quiet.
It's a tall building, probably fated to be some big office space once the walls are filled in and the scaffolding ends up wherever scaffolding goes after it's finished its job. I could use it to climb to our meeting point, on the building's roof- but flying is only getting easier with each day of training. It's getting to the point that I might just stop walking altogether.
It only takes a minute, and I'm touching down on- not actually on a roof, exactly, because there's pillars sticking up all over the floor that are clearly intended to eventually hold up a ceiling. I resolve to think of it as the ‘top floor’, rather than ‘the roof.’
Bat's already waiting for me, far away from the building’s edge- and he's not looking so good.
"Bat? You doing alright?" I ask, feeling unexpectedly concerned as I jog to his side. He's bent over double, panting audibly even through the mask. He holds up his hands as I approach, as though to fend me off.
"I'm... good..." he says, between desperate huffs of air. "Just... just got here, too... Underestimated... hah... how long it'd take to... to climb all those stairs…"
He looks up at me, still breathing heavily. His digital faceplate displays an emoticon I haven't seen him use before- a pained expression, with a semicolon sweatdrop running down its face.
It's only then that it really clicks with me that Bat's just.. some guy. An extremely smart 'just some guy', granted, one with an interesting power and access to a lot of very cool toys, but he's not like Scarlet, or even Marquis. He's not like the rest of the Syndicate. He's not like me. I could flatten him to paste right here, right now, without even breaking a sweat.
I swallow, hard. Somehow it hadn’t occurred to me before now that just having powers doesn’t by itself turn you into a superhero, or supervillain. When, then, had I made the change from ‘just some girl’ to ‘Monarch’?
Welp, that's a thought for the vault. I just say, flatly, "The Syndicate could really use a flier or two, huh?"
"Oh you have no idea," he says, finally straightening up. His faceplate displays anger, now, but his tone is joking as he says, "You have it so easy, you know that? You never have to touch a stair again."
"Eh, flying has its ups and downs," I say, and even stressed as I am, I can't help but giggle when Bat's faceplate goes completely blank in protest. I have to admit, he's always fun. I say, “And you seriously didn’t bring the whole gang with you?”
He looks around, demonstratively holding out his hands. “I’m the only one here, right? Paranoid much?”
The flippant response really bothers me, for some reason, and I feel that spike of anger again. I say, bitterly, “Well, I guess I have reason to be paranoid. Apparently, I’m awful at keeping secrets. For all I know, my real name is gonna be trending tomorrow.”
He swaps his digital emotion again, this time signifying laughter- but he doesn’t laugh, himself. God, I bet you could write a book on the nuances of Bat’s expressions. He says, “You? No way. You’re great at secrets."
Then, after a beat, he continues, "That is, uh- I peeped your social stuff, you know- Facebook, Twitter, Yelp reviews, etcetera. You look so normal it’s boring.”
“Then how-”
“It was, um. Kinda an accident, honestly,” he says, displaying a blush. “Don’t tell anyone, but I work at Optimus-”
“You work- what?” I interject, dumbfounded. “No, you don’t. At this point, I’m willing to bet cash that Optimus is tracking my periods- you’re not hiding nightly corporate sabotage from them.”
“Hey, does it bother you a little that your opinion of Optimus has gotten so low that you just automatically assume they’re committing unforgivable violations of privacy?”
“It bothers me plenty,” I admit, with a shrug. “It sucks, but that’s corporations for you.”
Bat shakes his head. “Wild. Anyway, I don’t get screened, for the same reason Scarlet Brighid doesn’t get screened. I’m above suspicion.”
That’s absolutely terrifying. I say, “If that’s true, then you’d have to be a board member, or something. Couldn’t you just talk to me directly?”
A big X flashes on the faceplate. Bat says, "Negative. If you think being high on the food chain means nobody will try to eat you, then you’re not suspicious enough. Case in point: I bet you didn’t even know about all the mics on your suit.”
I blink.
"My what?" I ask, genuinely mystified. "Bat, I don't have a-"
"You have thirteen microphones on you right now- I’ve been jamming them since before I called you."  Bat cuts me off, and starts pointing at seemingly random parts of my costume. "There, there, there- that zipper there’s actually got a camera in it, not that Optimus would ever use the footage for transparency-"
I bat his hand away, irritated now. I've trusted him this far, but he could easily be just talking out of his ass. I just say, "I'm still on Optimus's side, Bat, even if they're invasive and weird. If you've called me here with the exact same 'Oh, Optimus is totally evil, trust us instead' pitch Wolf’s always trying on me, then I’m gonna get back to work."
"No, that's fine. I'm not asking you to trust my word," he says easily, before pulling something out of the pouch at his waist. It's a lanyard- the same style that important guests at Optimus tend to wear. Hanging from it is a keycard. He holds it out to me, and the card dangles there between us. "I'm asking you to trust this."
I take it, and rotate it in my hands. It's just plain white plastic- I have an identical card in one of my own pouches, since Optimus doesn't exactly go around writing things like 'SECRET SUB-LEVEL SIX ACCESS' on its keycards. I ask, dubiously, "And this tells me... what? Why do I want this?"
A cheeky smile lights across Bat's faceplate. He says, "You know how I'm sorta just, all up in Optimus's business? All the time?"
I roll my eyes. "Yeah, yeah, you're super cool. You've aged Paris Optima about twenty years with all the hacking, by the way, she hates you the most."
"Ah." The smile fades, replaced by a blank darkness. "Ouch. But um, anyway, I've read most of your chat logs with her-"
"Creepy."
"-and I know you've been cautioned, repeatedly, for asking about a particular room on Basement Level 10. It's down the end of a long hallway, no number on the door? Is that ringing any bells?"
At some point I started gripping that keycard very, very tight. I look down at it now, and feel my pulse quicken with equal parts excitement and dread. I say, "You're kidding, right? Not even Scarlet Brighid gets in there, she told me herself."
"Optimas only," Bat breathes it like a prayer. He's looking at the keycard very intently- or at least, I guess he is. His face is kinda angled towards it? "All-access- or at least, close enough. The right person could do a lot of damage with that keycard."
It was pretty obviously the wrong thing to say, and the way he straightens right back up tells me he realises that too. I pocket the card, then say, shaking my head, "You know what, you're probably right. If this belongs to an Optima, I need to take it to one. Like right now."
"Lana, wait, listen-"
"Where did you even get it?" I demand, taking a step back, wary of any sudden lunges. "No, don't answer that. Do you have any idea how much trouble I'd get in if I was caught using some bigwig's access card, Bat?"
He holds out his hands, placating. His faceplate stays blank, but I can hear something like panic in his voice as he says, "Yes, yes, I do- but I don't think you do, Lana, that's the problem-"
"It's not a big mystery, my guy! I'd get fired!"
"Fired?" Bat asks, with a laugh of disbelief. "They're not gonna- do you seriously think Optimus would fire you? The woman who can fight the entire Syndicate to a standstill on her own? You're irreplaceable, too."
Despite myself, I feel my face heat up at that description. I say, "That's... obviously a bit of an exaggeration."
"No, it isn't." In another context, those words might be an encouragement, or flattery- but Bat says them grimly, like he just thinks it's very unfortunate for me. "But that doesn't mean you're safe from them, it just means they have some other way to control you.”
I don't know what to say to that, so we just... stand there, staring warily at each other. I've heard enough to know I should just turn around and hop right back off the building, but... something in what Bat just said jolts out an old, forgotten memory. What was it that Marquis had said? Something about Optimus wrapping around you like a parasitic vine, controlling your every movement? I doubt she meant it literally, but…
Well, even if I've been acting the part in front of the Syndicate, I'm not just some corporate bootlicker. I said I trust 'Optimus', but that's not really true. I trust people in Optimus, the ones I know. I trust Rene, and I trust Scarlet. I trust Juliette, too, more than anything. If I rotate the thought around in my mind, I can even say that investigating the company isn't really betraying those people- really, I'd just be finding proof that the company deserves them. Right?
Or maybe I'm just looking for excuses to go somewhere I've been told I can't. I think that might be it.
Bat doesn't seem to mix well with silence. He buckles under the pressure, first by plastering a few new emotions on his faceplate (He settles on a tonally inappropriate smiley face- I guess this is how he forces a smile?), and then by saying, in a rush, "Look, if you're worried about getting caught, don't be. I'd be right there with you, and I can delete you from any logs you end up in."
I quirk an eyebrow. "You'll be with me?" I ask, doubtfully.
"I mean, uh. Digitally. You know. I'll be monitoring you, and inside the system," he says, and his mask becomes a blushy face. "And if what you find in that room doesn't convince you to listen, then... well, then we're done, I guess. But I wouldn't be here if I wasn't confident."
He closes the distance between us, and I let him. He holds out a gloved hand, and asks, "Whaddaya say? Frenemies?"
That's the last little nudge I need, and I won't pretend the fact that Bat's being a huge dork about this has nothing to do with it- I have a soft spot for dorks, as it happens. I clasp the proffered hand tight.
"Frenemies," I repeat, and we shake on that promise. A happy, pointless little thought occurs to me, and I say, “You know, if we’re ever not actively on opposite sides of a corporate war, there’s someone I’d really like to introduce you to.”
The handshake lingers, though not uncomfortably- this moment of truce is a soothing balm to the months of fighting each other, and I don’t think either of us want to be the one to end it. Plus, you know. I like Bat. We can hold hands a little if we want.
Finally, Bat’s faceplate changes- an angry face, again, though it doesn’t remotely match the cheer in his voice as he exclaims, “We’ve been frenemies for ten seconds and you’re already setting me up with someone? Is he at least cute!?”
“You have no idea,” I say, through a laugh. I let the hand drop, and fix the bright LEDs in Bat's mask with a stern glare. "But look, Bat, this isn't going to work twice. If this is just some kind of trick, I’ll…well, I won’t like you anymore.”
I meant it as a joke. There’s really nothing else I could do to him, revenge wise, or at least nothing I’d also be willing to do. And yet, Bat's response is completely sincere, his voice contrasting with the goofy, unchanged expression on his faceplate as he responds, “I know. I hope you can at least believe me when I say that I really, genuinely, do not want that.”
...Then he does change it, into a winky face, which kills the mood a little. I huff out a laugh and say, “Yeah, whatever, man. Listen, I have to go- they’re gonna wonder what I’m looking at.”
I take a few backward steps towards the edge of the roof (the building’s ‘top floor’, I correct myself internally), as Bat replies, “Yeah, it’s been a hot minute. When do you wanna do this?”
My foot lands on scaffolding, and I lean to take a peek over the edge of the building. It’s a long drop to the construction site below, maybe thirty floors. I say, “No time like the present, I guess. I’ve still got my patrol to finish- will you know when I’ve started?”
Bat shoots me a thumbs up. He says, “I can patch into your comm earpiece no problem, so we’ll be able to talk. Give me an hour, then just say 'hey'. We can go from there.”
I look at him a little dubiously. I have no idea where the dude lives, but just getting up here almost knocked him out. Could he even climb down and then get back to his secret bat-cave in time for that?
I gesture over my back with a thumb, and ask, “Do you, uh- do you want a lift down?”
He laughs, sounding just a little uncomfortable. Arms crossed, he says, “Um, no, I’m okay actually. Thanks.”
I insist, “You’re gonna have to climb all the way down. I can get you there in like ten seconds.”
“Or in like, one second…” he mutters, and he hesitantly joins me over at the edge. He takes a peek down at the street below, and shivers. “God, how do you do that?”
“It was scary at first,” I admit. I don’t mention that I still haven’t stopped having those nightmares where my power stops working mid flight and I plummet to the ground, because I’m not sure if that'd be much of a comfort. I step off the edge of the building, where I do not fall, but instead do a languorous midair twirl to face him (I can admit to showing off a little). I say, “Come on, you’ve seen me catch rocks big enough I think they technically count as continents. I can carry two people.”
Bat says, dryly, “Yeah, don't get Badger started on that. She says that fighting you just boils down to us finding fun new ways to give you ammunition.”
“What was it you said? You hope we can trust each other?” I ask, cutting through his nervous snark. I hold out my hand. "I’m not gonna make you, but- look, do you really think I’d just let you fall?”
"I know you wouldn't," he said, and he takes my hand, holding it tight.

Anyone else tempted to drop Monkey D. Luffy into Transformers and drive every sensible person bonkers? Like the man fights in a way that humiliates his opponents than just beat them to a pulp. He always gets himself into crazy antics capable of making someone smile or extremely pissed.
Luffy can make friends with practically anyone and those who can't be befriended fucking hates his guts only to get their asses handed to them on a rubber Frisbee. I can't forget he is a literal rubberman as he ate the Gum Gum Devil Fruit. A childish young man who just hugs all his friends or get up to mischief.
It's quite funny as many wouldn't expect him to be the captain of a pirate crew and whose bounty is 1,500,000,000! Luffy may look like a bean but he has overthrown dictators, criminal organizations, mad scientists, a false god, to even declaring war on his world's government. All of it is because they hurt those he cherishes.
Imagine dropping someone like Luffy in a series like Transformers. A universe where alien robots have been fighting a civil war for so long (few million years) that the original cause for both factions is a blur. He obviously wouldn't give a shit about the whole thing.
Luffy just sees giant robots to befriend on BOTH SIDES. The guy has a knack when it comes making friends with all kinds of people. He befriended many who had tried to kill him by just being himself. A kind silly guy whose more intuitive about people's emotions and predicaments.
Don't be surprised if Decepticons suddenly begin to leave Megatron bit by bit because time and time again, he isn't exactly nice to his soldiers. Earthspark's iteration is the closest you get to him being kind however he didn't properly dissolve the faction nor discuss what everyone should do. Megatron is still trying find to himself through his personal redemption. An action that leaves his former Decepticons emotionally hurt, mentally betrayed and on the run.
Luffy however cares about everyone who he considers nakama. If they have a problem then the pirate captain will listen to their concerns. Should one of his Decepticon friends get captured then expect Luffy to go rescue them.
He will also open the eyes to those in the Autobot faction. Sure Optimus and his team are kind folk but their views are narrow and they handle some things awfully too. Prime has made multiple bad calls in every iteration that ultimately harmed his team. Some have died because of it or got gravely hurt.
A few Autobots have done things without clearance and knowledge that put others in danger. No one ever fully discusses their thoughts, concerns or properly communicate. Everyone just bottles up their issues until it blows up.
Luffy is quick to address that. He knows ignoring these things will do more harm than good. The man will point it out even if he might sound a bit callous about it. Luffy cares about the wellbeing of his nakama.
To sum things up, rubberman from a different universe discovers giant alien robots. Millennium long war dissolves by the power of silly flavored friendship.

So; I finally finished watching earthspark; and I truly want to hug Bee; like a lot; my bot does not deserve all that happened to him. I also need more information about breakdown and brawl. Also where was Optimus. Also megatron gets a hug. And Tarantulas and hashtag!
Where is grimloc?
Bee needs a medic, by the way.
There are many more questions and feelings.
But I will end this here.
You also get a hug!
Rev
I have a lot of thought about this! Earthspark Spoilers under cut!
1)Bumblebee def needs a hug and I really hope he will receive some, poor guy! That's a great set up for his character arc as well, which I thinking will happen in second season. His struggles with the alt-mode, agent Schloder being so obsessed and incredibly angry as Bee, and the whole thing with Breakdown. Can't wait to see how this gonna play out.
2) Yeah I also wonder who will treat Bumblebee's injuries? Will it be one of Autobot medic? Or one of Terrans will take this role?
3) About Optimus it's very interesting how he was absent, there are mostly theories how he's being mind controlled by GHOST and such so I wont repeat those, bc I have an additional thought that maybe Optimus is working on better solution. Perhaps with work with some government people to get legal protections for cybertronians on Earth, but he must do this in secret bc GHOST might find out ( and lets face it, Megatron is unreliable in current state).
The reason why no one think of this is bc everyone projecting IDW, and I sincerely hope the ES writers didn't go the exactly same path as comics. Decepticons being oppressed while being the military faction, and Autobots being the oppressors while they are mostly represented by civilians and workers never sits well with me. Besides there an an official continuity where the roles are reversed and it's called Shattered Glass. Ofc there is still big possibility that writer still copied the IDW formula, which would be super disappointing to me, but I'll live. As long as they butcher Bumblebee ahaha. But so far I do like it what I see in the show in current state. GHOST being corrupted organization ( and we don't know if it was always corrupted or it got corrupted over years) but it's the only somewhat support Autobots had and Optimus knows it and he also knows it will affect everyone (which why he hides a lot of Autobots and Terrans in first place). And he's know there is some shady shit on, but doesn't know what exactly (and same with half of GHOST bc Schoder isn't aware either) that's he's trying to find a better way. (Side Note: Tbh, I think about how Croft's possible end goal is got get full control over cybertronians ( and even over humans, we saw how immediately she gain full control over Mandroid and he fails to see it bc of his own hatred) to use them as war machines to her army! Even Optimus kinds implied it when he said "I'm afraid GHOST might use them (Terrans) as asset", like asset for what? There is only one answer for it and we all know military do with those assets.)
Optimus is very interesting, he's really in bad situation right now, and he tries his best to solve it, but its really difficult and he often has to morally compromise just to prevent another war from starting.
And Megatron, even tho he good intentions to break down the oppressive system on Cybertron, he failed, and the main reason why he failed bc he surrounded himself with enemies like Shockwave (which I'm surprised on one else pointed this out yet). So his faction turned into yet another tool of oppression, bringing the war to Earth and trying to conquer it. And what I find interesting is just the fact Megatron isn't there yet!
Right now to me he appears to be someone, who only started to accepts his mistakes, but he doesn't take full responsibility yet. He doesn't realize that his movement was doomed to fail bc of ppl like Shockwave and the fact his still call him a friend after how badly Shockwave treated Terrans really screams it.
And if this gonna be a story not how Megatron isn't actually a traitor of Decepticons, but he was surrounded by traitors and Megatron finally realising it - this would be very cool and thousands times better than whatever it was in IDW!
And I much prefer the situation that a lot of cons joined the cause bc they were ether lied to, or were in desperate situation and Shockwave took advantage of this. This would make perfect sense for "not all cons are evil" and "cons are evil and they choose to be".

did you see the theory that getaway has prime apotheosis for rodimus? same alt mode even, with the spoiler being on his knees
i've heard this theory, yes, though tbh it always feels more like an AU concept than anything. the problem is that in IDW1 rodimus just... isn't a prime! including in MTMTE. rodimus isn't seen as a prime- he's seen as a guy who briefly carried the matrix and currently has half of it. we don't get any indication that, say, thunderclash doing much the same thing means he's seen as any kind of (ex-)prime, which seems telling since the implication is that people found it more impressive when thunderclash did it.
the primus apotheosis stuff is... well. it's kind of weird in canon tbh, mostly kind of a gag, and doesn't make a huge amount of sense no matter which way you slice it, but it's pretty clearly supposed to revolve around a (quasi-religious) cult of personality which has culturally sprung up around optimus during the war. there's no reason for that to happen with rodimus because 1) he's not in charge of anything, 2) he's not even widely respected by the autobots, and 3) he's not a prime or assumed to be a prime, so the religious side doesn't even really come in. it just doesn't, on reflection, make a lot of sense for me in actual canon. getaway is rodimus' foil and is pettily obsessed with him, but i feel like if it was about the matrix, he'd mention the matrix more. and if it was about wanting to be a prime because of rodimus, we'd get some indication he thought of rodimus as that, in contrast to everyone else who clearly doesn't. but... we don't! tbh the actual "oh getaway has Primus Apotheosis" offhand mention in canon always feels totally out of place to me anyway, shrug. it doesn't really do anything for the character that his entitlement to the ship itself doesn't. so.
(sidenote: i know everyone always brings up the chaos theory conversation about the matrix making optimus feel bad when he touched the matrix while rodimus felt good, but like... there are plenty of explanations for that as a beat that don't rely on 'rodimus is an honorary prime'! especially since it's pretty heavily suggested by the end that 'prime' is not a thing the matrix itself inherently confers so much as a role that sprung up around it because Society TM. rodimus isn't a prime because noone treats him like a prime, because being a prime means being a leader and rodimus isn't in charge. that's my take, matrix or no.)
tl;dr: i don't find it very plausible as a canon reading anon, sorry!

So...hear me out-TFP Getaway He's an MTO (or whatever the Aligned equivlent is) and during the war on Cybertron was a member of the Elite Guard, and did spec ops work, similar to . He was partners with Skids during the war, though sadly Skids was presumed killed during a botched mission, something which greatly affected Getaway. Suffice to say, he hates the Decepticons with all his Spark-especially Megatron-and is willing to do whatever it takes to destroy them. Anyways he finds his way to Earth and joins Team Prime shortly after Cliffjumper and Arcee do. His dynamic with the Team is...intresting to say the least -Optimus: Looks up to him, worships the very ground he walks on, though he can't help but think that Optimus has grown soft since he's arrived on Earth -Ratchet: Mostly indifferent. But he's the medic so, best not to tick off the guy in charge of putting you back together. -Bumblebee: Respects him a good deal, especially for defying Megatron at the cost of his voice box -Bulkhead-Mild dislike, given I'm pretty sure the Elite Guard and Wreckers had a bit of a rivalry during the war (similar to IDW's rivalry between the Wreckers and Spec Ops), though Getaway is willing to put that aside for the sake of winning the war -Cliffjumper-Not a fan of his recklessness, thinks (correctly) that sooner or later it will get him killed -Arcee: She's the one Getaway gets along with the best, given they both lost partners during the war. After Cliffjumper's death, Getaway is there to let her know he knows what it's like. Eventually though Getaway gets frustrated with Optimus not killing Megatron, and decides to give him that little push he needs to finish the job: killing one of Team Prime and making it look like Megatron did it. And when Smokescreen arrives he sees his chance. He ingratiates himself with the rookie, earning his trust, and then, when he least expects it, tries to kill him. However, he fails, Smokescreen escapes, and with the rest of team prime knowing he's kind of a dick, Getaway goes on the run, waging his own solo war on the Decepticons Anyways, if you want to hear more about this AU let me know?
Ooooo, he'd look so fucking pretty
Getaway is a bastard but he's a pretty bastard, and his design would look so interesting in the tfp style
I don't think there quite is an aligned equivalent to MTOs? At least, not in a recognizable way I can recall. The closest thing we might have is the vehicons, or the protoform clones?? We can always suggest in this scenario MTOs do exist (though, since TFP seems to be a tidge more biology inclined I'm gonna suggest it's CNA based, rather than based on sparks.)
Hmmm okay so Skids is his motive, okay okay
Mmn, 100% revenge motivated. Now typically I'm more approving of revenge than TFP as a show seems to be, but trying to eliminate ALL decepticons seems a little... there are going to be issues.
Makes sense that the Elite Guard and the Wreckers would have a rivalry, especially since in aligned the Wreckers as a unit are older than the autobots as a faction, until they got ~absorbed~ into being part of the autobots, so I can see there definitely being tensions between the very Autobot-ey autobots and the often indoor outdoor equivalent of autobots. Oh! Or I'm wrong!
Makes sense Getaway would get along with Arcee, I wonder what consequences that'll have
of course getaway of course. He really is willing to do quite a lot in order to try and succeed at his goal, isn't he.
sMOKEY OH.
And we leave off with Getaway becoming an autobot rogue, which has gotta be a crunchy dynamic because we see how the decepticons interact with their rogues (Arachnid and Starscream at various points), I truly wonder how the bots would interact with Getaway
