Big webcoming spoilers below.
Paraphrasing:
"For INFJ love language, spending quality time with a person is a big deal. When infj slams the door and you're on the same side as them, you're not getting out."
Me when Saitama accepting Genos into his life and into his home means he wants to spend quality time with him because Genos is at his home, his safe haven, where the personality type always retreats to when they want to emotionally recharge and rest.
Tumblr media
Slamming the door on someone's face also means keeping someone else out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Me when Saitama legit just ignored King telling him he's depressed to the point of giving himself up for monster to kill and then slamming the door in front of Flashy flash and locking King inside with him. While King is sobbing.
Tumblr media
Jesus fucking christ Saitama.
A veritable: "I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me."
This is why Reigen likes manga Saitama because bro, WC Saitama is...he's legitimately just fucked up in the head. Garou was very correct and he felt this disturbance because he's empathetic. We can just tell.
WC Saitama is legit displaying psychopathy and more than likely other personality disorders. He's plain disturbing to me when I read this without the rose tinted goggles of just expecting non-serious gag comic.
Hey, good thing manga did a good job of removing rose tinted goggles eh? Eh? Intentional.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was just about to kill Flashy just because he doesn't like him and only Genos stopped him from committing casual murder.
Yap. Actually verified psychopath.
He royally fucked himself up didn't he? Oh boy...too much power on those fingertips...
WC Saitama and everyone in that verse need some prayers. Somebody please help this man.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Loveen langennut" btw.
Falling into the notch. Wordplay from Falling in Love.

To Lack Heart
There is a disconnect between fans of the OPM webcomic and OPM anime that I think can easily be explained by the amount of effort put in.
A lot of people who like the webcomic don't like the animation of season two, which doesn't make much sense to those who like the show. The art is objectively better in the show than in the webcomic. The thing is that the first season was carefully crafted to capture the energy of Murata's art in the Manga, which in turn was carefully designed to capture the energy of the *writing* in ONE'S webcomic.
ONE has always been a writer. He happens to be a writer who best expresses his stories through visual means, despite not being a professional artist by most standards. His stories are not hindered by this, because his art may be simplistic, but he is a master of emotional storytelling. Murata did not make the story better because he happened to be a better artist, but because he is dedicated to using his art in service of the story, to enhance it, not to replace it.
The first season of the anime was painstakingly animated and written to capture that beautiful balance between Murata and ONE, that elegant dance of wonderful storytelling and expressive art. It remains some of the most fluid and passionate animation to date.
The second season of OPM, to put it nicely, was not animated by professionals. The characters are constantly off model, the anatomy is atrocious, and the fight scenes were so botched to avoid having to animate the movements that the action is almost incomprehensible. It lacked technical ability, but that's not really why it was bad. ONE lacks technical ability, but he has heart.
In every panel, and with every line, ONE carefully crafts his story to circumvent the fact that he's no master artist. He cares deeply about what he's making, and puts his best effort forth to create art so moving that artists and animators are moved to achieve feats previously thought impossible just to capture the beauty of his work. Season one of OPM is still used to prove that fight scenes can be fast paced without sacrificing the integrity of the animation or the story. Murata is basically the gold standard of mangakas, proving that bad anatomy is an artist problem, not an anime style problem.
ONE, Murata, and the season 1 animators set a standard, and season 2 failed to live up to it, not because it couldn't, but because there was no heart.

THEORY I WANT TO SHARE THAT I HAVE HAD IN MIND FOR AWHILE!
(Genos, Drive Knight, Metal Knight, Mad Cyborg related)
I had a theory awhile ago about Metal Knight and Drive Knight working together secretly, but now something tells me that is not the case whatsoever.
I think it’s strange on how Drive Knight tells Genos to not trust Bofoi off the bat in the beginning from the end of season 1.
Like he’s trying to turn on the possibility of a traitor in the HA in the mind of Genos (so he becomes worked up about it, which works and favors DK later on). Like he needs someone else to do his dirty work for him, due to DK already being seen as suspicious by MK.
(ik ik im stretching here and there but, let me cook)
Tumblr media
But I feel like it’s strange on how Drive Knight tries to pin point it all at Metal Knight particularly because of his absence throughout the Hero Association. Like he’s trying to make it out as HE is the one Genos needs to target particularly. Especially because he’s the only other robot besides the 2 of them being part cyborg.
Does Drive Knight tell this information to anyone else, BESIDES GENOS?
No, not at all (at least that’s just from what I know and see, as he’s a very secretive person).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I think it’s really strange when Drive Knight starts to mention about ‘knowing’ something evil about MK. It’s like he’s inserting himself, or with the people he might work with in secret. Like a new hidden organization yet to be announced in the storyline.
Especially on the first panel below this, when he tells Genos why he’s telling him this. It all seems so manipulative, stalker kind of vibe, trying to share common ground/change his persona to be likable/trust worthy. He’s suspiciously trying a little to hard to gain his trust, he’s trying to be a victim like him, I guess gain sympathy in a way?
It’s like Metal Knight KNOWS he’s in a mentally unstable condition, that Genos seems desperate enough to find out about his ‘mad cyborg’ killer sooner or later.
If someone very important to him happened to die, Genos would whole heartily (maybe with a grain of salt) follow Drive Knights information. (Wanna know what happened? KUSENO DIED, HIS FATHER FIGURE, SOMEONE WHO WAS THERE FOR HIM IN THE BEGINNING. And wanna know what he did after? He used that information from Drive Knight to go after Metal Knight.)
Also-
HOW DOES DRIVE KNIGHT KNOW THAT GENOS’ES VILLAGE AS BEEN DESTROYED BY A ‘mad cyborg’ AS WELL???
NO ONE TOLD HIM??
SO HOW DOES HE EXACTLY KNOW!???
(It’s like out of the blue.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This only furthers my suspicions on Drive Knight.
Especially on the after math of Kuseno’s death and when robots invade nearby cities. In which Genos automatically assumes it’s the work of Metal Knight.
And now with new evidence from the newest webcomic chapter shows Metal Knights base, with no robots forming out of the base itself.
Tumblr media
As all of his robots are by the HA HQ fighting the new other robots.
(Although the chapter isn’t fully translated yet, you can see DK, which proves my previous point up above in the third section.)
I actually think Drive Knight might be working with the association that destroyed Genos’es village. It would explain on why he’s trying to pin the blame on Metal Knight and to not become suspicious from Genos POV, giving him a good alibi for the most part.
And if anything that ‘mad cyborg’ killer could be Drive Knight himself, but that’s a bit of stretch if anything.
(IM PREDICTING IT THO! MARK MY WORDS!!)
————-
A little bit more evidence mentions: (from the top of my head)
-Metal Knight tells Child Emperor to not trust anyone as his final message to him. We are shown a text of both of them used to being friends.
It’s like Metal Knight had to cut his connection towards CE for his safety as he MK already felt he was being watched himself. (But that might change due to the recent chapter that has yet to be translated, can’t fully confirm until then but just putting it out there.)
-Saitama tells Genos to just talk to Metal Knight and ask. But Genos pays no head to that, which might become his biggest mistake.
I feel like this is foreshadowing that once Genos gets close to Bofoi, and Bofoi tells him that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about/tells him straight up he had no relation to the event he speaks of. I feel like Genos might lose it completely even if Saitama is next to him and tries to calm him down.
Like I feel like Genos might almost kill Bofoi but Saitama stops Genos in time. And both start to argue and it’s starts to become sad from there.
-It’s strange how after Genos talked to DK for a bit, then Kuseno dies.
Coincidence? I think not.
It’s like Kuseno was on DK’s hit list for him and the people that he works with/the association that killed Genos’es village. And they had to get rid of him one way or another, it would explain why there was random strong robots there. They were being tracked and targeted, mainly Dr.Kuseno (as if he was getting close to the truth).
Like they to manipulate Genos just so DK could earn his trust and lose a lot of suspicion in his eyes. Even after Kusenos death.
-THE 2 MF ROBOTS FROM SEASON 1 THE SOUND O SONIC EP! (I think)
They appeared after taking back the suit of the big strong bald head guy.
It’s like very early foreshadowing of members for another association, yet to still appear out of thin air. (IMO)
————-
That’s all I wanted to share for now, I’ll edit this if I happen to remember more and study the chapters closely.
If you guys wanna add on or put in you own input, on this theory, please do! I would be happy to hear your opinion!
(And correct me if I’m wrong!!)
Until then, thank you for reading my theory! (If it makes sense 😭)
Have a nice day/night!! :D

A One Punch Man Meta (Where I overthink about One Punch Man because no one wants to)
Disclaimer: Don't take this so seriously. I just love Saitama and more so Tatsumaki so this is a fun little side project lol If you're not a fan, then think of it as my little headcanon that I want to ruminate on.
So, I have been rereading OPM partly because it’s the Psychic Sister Arc being adapted in the manga now and I simply love Tatsumaki. I need more content of her before she disappears again (insert sad face)
To be honest, it’s going well but I am stuck in Chapter 137. Like I keep saying repeatedly, I love Tatsumaki so this chapter needs more drilling into
In the opposite spectrum, Chapter 77 is Saitama’s chapter. Here. we have insight of his psyche via King’s introspection. He feels lonely. He doesn’t feel any emotion anymore. He thinks strength is the only metrics to be had but now he feels bored out of his mind
King actually suggests Saitama to maybe have friends outside of the Hero’s association but he rejected it quite vehemently. He doesn’t need any more friends let alone outside of the Hero Association. (SO WHAT DO YOU WANT SAITAMA)
Here we have an overpowered hero who feels nothing.
On the other hand, we have Tatsumaki who feels every emotion in the maximum capacity.
Both person, with overwhelming strength, felt very alone
I still can’t make heads or tails on how to perceive Tatsumaki’s character and how I feel Saitama will have a profound effect on her debilitating psyche. You ask, why these two specifically and why not others? Because I want to shoo.
For sure, I think we’re all expecting it but Saitama is going to be the catalyst for her change. And by we, I mean maybe it's just me. Lol.
Blast was the one who put the curse in her heart and someone else is going to have to remove it. Who else but someone who actually parallels Blast but is more open to have positive relationship with other people?
Tumblr media
Once Saitama utters the phrase “I’m just a hero for fun”, her mind has to go to Blast immediately. It has to!! But unlike Blast who told her to not expect anyone to come save her, this one’s going to be sticking with her.
And before all of you say it’s going to be Fubuki that should help her sister out, it’s not. At least, it's what I believe.
I think Fubuki is a hindrance to Tatsumaki. Tatsumaki feels obligated and responsible for her sister’s safety (Because Blast said so and she took it so seriously) therefore if she’s going to do any growing up, Fubuki needs to be out of the way.
For #1 to happen, Fubuki needs to have her own storyline out of her Sister's sphere. This is where Psychos and the Blizzard group comes into play, so many forthcoming things on that front (especially with the new scenes in the webcomic)
In Chapter 144, Fubuki mentions that she is gathering forces to help her sister so she can save her. This is why Saitama and Fubuki's arc are interconnected because Fubuki will be the leeway to connect Saitama and Tatsumaki's paths together
Saitama by way of meeting Fubuki was actually the reason why Fubuki understood her sister a little better (It's lonely at the top) which establishes that Saitama and Tatsumaki are one and the same person. They just need to realize this Fubuki panels that make a direct comparison between Saitama and Tatsumaki

Anyway onto reading the rest of the chapter and overthinking. Until this arc is over, I'm not gonna shut up ahahaha *Evil laugh*

Note
I recall only two animes where I bursted out laughing and MP100 is one of them. Even if the joke itself isn't the funniest thing in the world, it's the randomness and the timing what makes it funny, along with putting the right amount of exageration.
Along with the voice actors giving their all for the deliveries. :D (Reigen has me crying laughing as if he were straight out of an abridged parody.) But ONE's particular brand of absurdist comedic timing, paneling, and exaggerated (art shifting) expressions are even sharper in the manga (+opm's webcomic too) so there's more brilliance where that came from; it's definitely one of his biggest strengths!

I have this feeling..
I've been scouring through the OVA's and other stuff a bunch and came up with bunch of pieces here and there. Nothing very concrete and mostly guesswork.
WC spoilers ahead.
Tumblr media
The title may be reference to Dr.Kuseno.
The "kuse" in Kuseno sounds exactly like "kusee" (くせー) an impolite form of "kusai" (臭い) that means "stinky" while the "no" has no direct translation (most likely the common Japanese name ending 野 meaning "field").
That's why his name is Dr.Stench in english translations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just got this sudden feeling about this particular wordplay in this OVA and how it zoomed in on Genos' ears. Pitch is also a type of field.
"That's "me", Master. That's the note for "me"!"
If y'all remember that there is still an unrevealed, specific function to Genos earrings. And it still hasn't been revealed even in WC, where Kuseno has died.
I have a feeling...that it is a testament.
A voice recorded testament or a holographic one. One that is sealed until the death of Kuseno and Saitama is the trustee in said will and it may only open when Saitama says a key word or make a key sound. Since Kuseno saw Genos as his grandson but he seemingly has no known family of his own, he would have made contingency plans so Genos could inherit his research and stuff, so he could actually continue to remain self-sufficient as a cyborg. Or should have at least, he knows he has enemies.
Question: When did Genos got his piercings? ONE: After he became a cyborg Q: Do Genos' piercings have a purpose? A: They do have a purpose, but it's a secret for now. Q: Why does Genos wear studs? A: It's a secret. There are settings for the studs but can't be revealed yet.
Now how could Saitama be able to make a testament with Kuseno to Genos, when Genos has had these earrings on him this whole time and Kuseno barely even knows Saitama?
Simple.
Time travel.
And it'll be all related to the Mad Cyborg, Kuseno and Genos' arch nemesis, I bet. Maybe Saitama's past too.
Wouldn't it be something if Saitama was actually involved in the whole Mad cyborg debacle of the past and was unintentionally responsible for the creation of cyborg Genos in the first place?
That would be some Back to the Future type of shenanigans.
As for why such a testament couldn't just be implemented elsewhere...I imagine it had to be kept secret and safeguarded and in case other physical records of testament got destroyed. Then there may be a reason why it had to be always kept on Genos person, just from its importance alone. But also because it might be contested if Kuseno actually HAS any relatives left.
Who bets Metal Knight, Dr.Bofoi, is a cousin or something and ex-colleague? There's a lot of Dr.Light and Dr.Wily feels in the duo.
Since Kuseno is a parental figure of Genos, he 100% knows by now, that Genos is totally gay for Saitama, no questions asked. It's all Genos ever talks about to Kuseno apparently. Even if he was wrong in this assesment, it would paint that kind of picture certainly.
The concept of the freedom of disposition by will, familiar as it is in modern England and the United States, both generally considered common law systems, is by no means universal. In fact, complete freedom is the exception rather than the rule.[3]: 654  Civil law systems often put some restrictions on the possibilities of disposal; see for example "Forced heirship". LGBT advocates have pointed to the inheritance rights of spouses as desirable for same-sex couples as well, through same-sex marriage or civil unions. Opponents of such advocacy rebut this claim by pointing to the ability of same-sex couples to disperse their assets by will. Historically, however, it was observed that "[e]ven if a same-sex partner executes a will, there is risk that the survivor will face prejudice in court when disgruntled heirs challenge the will",[4] with courts being more willing to strike down wills leaving property to a same-sex partner on such grounds as incapacity or undue influence.
There is a scene in WC that may be seen in different light with this in mind. When Kuseno asks Saitama to take care of Genos for him.
Kuseno giving his blessing for ther relationship as testator would give this will some legal ground to remain unchallenged in court, in case Genos and Saitama actually ended up together. It may also be a case of forced heirship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's a lot to infer from Saitama legit only asking Kuseno to take his shoes off and saying it's nice to meet him. Then he immediately starts commenting about companions because he got emotional.
When every other person always misjudges Saitama at a glance.
Tumblr media
And he immediately comes bearing gifts (which he procured despite coming in full battle suit and after receiving distress signal, which makes it seem like he wasn't too worried or in a hurry anyway), saying its a gift for always taking care of Genos.
But how can he say that when Genos always comes to his lab wrecked? Multiple times a day even? Especially after Tournament and Elder Centipede where Saitama definitely WASN'T taking care of Genos?
You'd think that seeing Genos always being wrecked since he got in contact with Saitama, he'd think the opposite. But nah, Saitama on default is "amazing sensei".
Sure, he could have been listening to Genos drone on about Saitama a lot but still...
Kuseno knows something we don't.

Garou doujin
Tumblr media
Sorry bitches
Hehehehe. Garou character is cool, he has an AWESOME plot on OPM manga. Damn, he's so horny! He fills my mind with lot of porn stuff XD I need to do something with all this shit. While waiting for his new arcline on the manga, I'm designing a Garou doujin, oh yeah♥, here you meet his girlfriend (sorry batarou fans, but I love your stuff so keep on with hot batarou stuff please!♥) Comic is something slow to produce, meanwhile, I'll be posting pics/sketches/panels instead. I'm nervous about what ONE sensei has prepared for Garou on the manga (in several aspects). As a Vegeta fan, I was deeply shocked when on GT saga Vegeta appeared on screen with an horrible mustache and had his saiyan hair cut. OH NO, OH NO. Don't do that with Garou. I've seen that on the OPM webcomic Garou starts a new life and has his hair cut... It seems that manga has another plans for him. I hope so! Well, it's only my point of view. nenée

Chapter 147.
Webcomic spoilers.
Edit: added more links and fixed grammar errors.
What will be the follow-up to this panel?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the umpteenth “Fubuki is so useless and scared” gag, obviously!
While other characters were spared from enduring the same fate of their webcomic counterpart, Fubuki, who had one of the best showings in the WC, is straying more and more from her original portrayal, engulfed in a repetitive, stale joke - being cocky and full of herself at first and then becoming a trembling mess, sitting on the floor - for an entire arc. Outside of it, she is used to enforce the “no hero dies” rule of the series as a deus ex machina “healer/support” or to “hype” other characters (usually, her sister). And every time Fubuki seems to be getting a moment of spotlight, she is quickly reduced to a pathetic buffon by the end of the scene - with only one exception. Fubuki has basically spent more time sitting on the floor than standing on her feet.
But let’s go back to the chapter.
This scene highlights some key differences between manga Fubuki and Webcomic Fubuki.
For starters, while manga Fubuki keeps acting cocky in front of other characters only to end up totally and utterly humiliated time and time again, in the webcomic Fubuki’s “bossy” attitude is limited to “daily life” moments (like the Hot Pot) and  was more of a facade, a defensive mechanism the character put on in order to not “lose face” while interacting with strong people/heroes that weren’t part of her group. When King informed the Saitama Group about the Hero raid against the monsters, Fubuki immediately took the situation seriously. She didn’t display the manga’s immature attitude, she didn’t try to recruit her colleagues during the MA fights nor was she an incompetent clown in general. Instead of acting as the one in charge, Fubuki followed Genos’s lead without questions. The only time Fubuki displayed a “cocky” attitude that was part of the strategy she employed against the former vice-president of the “Society of the Supernatural” and the leader of the Monster Association, Psykos. That battle was a testament to Fubuki’s skills and intelligence, but for some reason ONE/Murata decided to portray Fubuki in the remake as a dumb loser who doesn’t understand how outmatched and useless she is.
But more importantly, this sequence underlines another significant change between the way the manga and the webcomic handle the character, which is to say how differently Fubuki’s moments of “fear” are depicted: in the original MA arc Fubuki was never used for cheap gags while the rest of the cast got cool and awesome moments unlike her. Webcomic Fubuki was subjected to the same rules as any other character and was treated in the same way, instead of being the butt-monkey of every joke. Fubuki’s behavior was logical and understandable, especially given how she found herself in the middle of a fight involving some of the strongest beings in the world and with Tatsumaki going rampant with her powers. She was obviously concerned and worried about the state of the situation - like when she warned Genos, who was trying to reach the surface, about the dangers lurking above them, where Tatsumaki was battling the Cadres - but that never resulted in jokes at the expense of her character or in misplaced comic relief moments, contrary to the manga.
This brings me to another point: the only moment in the webcomic Fubuki ended up cowering, unable to move, was after facing Garou. That was a turning point for the arc as a whole, marking the return of Garou and reestablishing him as the arc’s main “threat”, and an important moment for Fubuki’s character arc itself. Prior to that point, despite being totally unaware of what was happening under Z-City (at least up until sensing Tatsumaki and Sitch’s call) and totally unprepared for what was about to occur, Fubuki proved to be one of the most valuable and competent heroes participating in the fights, protecting Genos from Rover’s blasts - who ended up saving Tatsumaki later on -, joining King when the Cadres were about to attack him (1, 2) and then humiliating Psykos in front of the Dragons*  - which not only made them lose their “loyalty”/trust in their “leader”, but allowed the rest of the emerging heroes of not having to deal with a Dragon Level Threat Esper standing nearby; after that, Fubuki fought and defeated on her own the leader of the Monster Association. It’s only after having dealt with these threats that Fubuki found herself in front of the Hero Hunter, who embodied and represented everything Fubuki was afraid of: an overwhelming power she couldn’t do anything against (chapter 78: 1, 2; chapter 84: 3, 4). This scene will serve as a setup for her growth in the next arc, where, in order to protect Psykos, Saitama and the Fubuki Group, Fubuki will confront and overcome the same sense of total powerlessness, standing against the very source of her traumas and fears, her sister (1, 2). So, while the webcomic did it only once, in a powerful and dramatic moment, and as a way to further develop the character in the very next arc, the manga used Fubuki’s cowering/being scared multiple times and as a “funny”, “humorous” shtick. This speaks volumes about the general treatment reserved to the character in the manga.
And whereas in this chapter Fubuki does nothing but appears to be comically out of place (1, 2), webcomic Fubuki, exhausted and tired from the previous fights, still used her powers against Garou before succumbing to fear and fatigue (1, 2, 3, 4; the remaining pages from chapter 78 are linked above).
And this leads me to the following question: what was the point of Fubuki staying there, aside from watching in awe Bomb and Garou - unable even to follow their movements - and being a damsel in distress for Bomb to protect at the last second? It would have made more sense if our so-called “great leader”**, instead of doing nothing, moved away with an incapacitated and almost dead Tank Top Master to a safer place - even bumping into Pig God along the way would have worked better, instead of him appearing out of nowhere next to Fubuki and Tank Top Master. And in fact, it’s Fubuki and Tank Top Master’s presence that forced Bomb to bring the fight elsewhere. So yeah, it was another instance of “Fubuki hypes other characters and provides humor to the scene”.
And it’s absurd how the authors even expect the readers to take Fubuki seriously when for every scene of her doing actually something there are at least ten of her filling the role of the clown. Seriously, going from the resident laughingstock of the series to fighting Psykos*** (if that battle will still happen and won’t be turned into a boob joke fest) - or whatever role she still has to play - will be quite jarring. Speaking of that: I really can’t see how Fubuki vs. Psykos won’t be overshadowed by the previous Psykorochi fight or by the actual main character of the arc, Garou, appearing this early.
The more we delve into the arc the more it becomes obvious which characters have been treated with more care, not allowed to have a bad showing even when they are struggling or end up defeated - with the scenes framed as either heroic and/or tragic, lacking any humorous undertone - and those who are simply narrative afterthoughts. Fubuki, so far, falls (literally) into the second category and her pathetic and flanderized portrayal is the direct consequence of the changes made to Tatsumaki’s character - from toning down (or completely removing) her flaws to giving her an epic shounen-esque battle in the middle of the arc, on top of turning the S-Class into a Woobie (with her childhood flashback shoehorned much earlier in the story) and so on****. It’s still worth noting how the popular characters from the first season, present in this arc, got a way better showing in the manga compared to their webcomic counterparts, whereas those who played a pivotal role in the source material got the short end of the stick (Edit: so far, that is).
And so, I’m curious: is ONE trying to correct Fubuki’s role in One-Punch Man? Maybe what we are reading here is what ONE always had in mind for her character and her depiction in the original was simply something the author never intended in the first place. I wouldn’t be surprised if Fubuki future apparitions in the webcomic will reflect her recent manga characterization. That said, it’s no wonder if many readers only care about her pin-up pages when that’s the only thing she has been consistently featured in: outside of that, the character has been mostly sidelined and used for boring and unfunny gags -when she gets screentime at all. Fubuki is now basically a textbook example of a battle-shounen (bad) female character. What made her great and interesting is all gone: her conflict with Tatsumaki is non-existent (the scenes added in the manga have made clear how benevolent and indulgent remake-Tatsumaki is towards her foolish sister, who keeps putting herself in danger); acting like a spoiled brat that collects failures after failures, albeit retaining her cocky and dumb attitude, instead of being a competent and skilled esper limited by her mindset and her refusal to push herself out of her comfort zone; and while Fubuki’s actual relevancy to the plot and the themes of the arc keeps getting delayed, her comic reliefs moments keep inflating at every chapter, which will make her important/impressive moments totally farfetched and undercooked***** - and that because Murata and ONE failed to properly show Fubuki’s abilities and capabilities over the course of the manga, using her instead as a way to get out of narrative dead ends with last moment asspulls.
*EDIT 23/12/2022: Fubuki is also the reason Fang (and Bomb) showed up and saved Genos and Tatsumaki.
**Something the remake is trying to push despite the fact her scenes in this arc barely display this inclination and most of her actions fall under the heroic deeds label more than anything else - and this ignoring how difficult is to take these scenes seriously when she makes a fool of herself in front of her “subordinates” repeatedly and acts like a hysterical toddler all the time (+ bonus) - such good additions! In the Esper Sisters Arc Fubuki proves to be a good and caring leader, without the dialogues trying to ham-fist it on the readers.
***In the webcomic her fight with Psykos started (chapter 74) less than 30 chapters after Fubuki’s introduction (chapter 47) and, leading to that encounter, Fubuki had a constant presence in the story.
****I have already talked about it in my previous posts (1, 2, 3).
*****It already happened after the release of chapter 122 (Fubuki, Fang and Bomb versus Overgrown Rover): many people found unbelievable for her to be able to block a blast from a Dragon Level Threat after her performances against Demonic Fan and Do-s. Too bad the former “feat” actually happened in the webcomic, while the latter two are manga original additions (so far, at least): in the webcomic there was no reason to believe Fubuki couldn’t accomplish something like that - a case of “less is more”. Instead of building up and laying the ground for the crucial role Fubuki is supposed to play, the manga has done the exact opposite by reducing her to a pitiful caricature.
