Soooo I’ve been seeing this post go around and I do wanna just take something I wrote about in the tags and make an actual post about it to clear up an (understandable) misconception I think a lot of people have:
The upcoming Tales From Hawkins #3 centered on Robin…
(Variant covers for Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins #3)
…is a single comic issue not a graphic novel.
This distinction matters here for two primary reasons:
Length: A standard comic issue is generally about 32 pages, as opposed to graphic novels which vary a lot in length but are much much longer. I haven’t read other issues in the Tales From Hawkins series so I’m not 100% sure the length of this issue specifically, but I do know people thinking this is going to be the length of a full graphic novel will be expecting a lot more than what there will actually be, so that’s just like, setting yourself up for disappointment.
Availability: While digital purchasing and/or pirating will of course be options, if you would like a physical copy of this story you will not find it at a regular book store any time soon, you will need to to go to a comic book store (here is a helpful tool: the comic shop locator) or if there are no comic stores near you/getting to one is not feasible for you, order from a comic store that delivers to other places (for example, Midtown comics or Things From Another World). Comic publishers used to have some single issues available at bookstores via the newsstand distribution model but that ceased existing during the 2010s. I think it’s highly likely that once the Tales From Hawkins series is over there will be a collected edition (much like the other Stranger Things comics have gotten) and THAT would be available at regular bookstores, but that would not be for a while.
And just for the context of how I know for a fact that this is a single issue and not a graphic novel:
Every month comic publishers put out solicitations (also known as ‘solicits’) which list what books are available for preorder. Usually solicits are about 3 months ahead of release, so in the case of Tales From Hawkins #3, it was part of Dark Horse’s August 2023 solicits which were released in May.
Anything that is a hardcover, trade paperback, graphic novel, etc is labelled as such—with the remaining listed books being single issues. Plus this specific site reporting these solicits has everything sorted by category so super clearly labelling what’s what, and if you scroll through the page you’ll see that Tales From Hawkins falls under the single issue category!
And also just like… graphic novels typically don’t get variant covers like this, that’s a comic issue thing. Graphic novels also typically aren’t given numbers like ‘#3 of 4’, they’re given numbers like ‘Volume 3’ if part of a multi-book series. And the list price is $3.99 USD which while standard for a single issue is like unheard of for a new graphic novel.

some more feedback on the glittery terf repellant... I like the concept but i think that it reads a bit like an anti-misandry thing rather than an anti-transphobia thing. specifically bc of the "the existence of men" one - terfs don't have a problem with men, they're a hate group targeting specifically trans women. so it sounds as tho ur saying trans women = men, or that it's not even about terfs, but rather a statement from a "men's rights activist". hope that makes sense!

Yes, radfems absolutely do hate men. The statement above is something they say, it's part of the propaganda they spread. If terfs specifically are somehow pro-men but anti trans-women (they're not, but lets pretend) then fine--I've never been talking about terfs, I've been talking about radfems. This entire time I've said radfems and nearly everyone talking to me has said terfs back. They're not the same thing--all terfs are radfems but not all radfems are terfs.
Radfems do hate men. I have no idea where you got the concept that they're fine with them. I've read a lot of their rhetoric over the years, both as research and as poison that seeped into popular culture and queer culture as well.
That is why my initial attempt at radfem proofing a post was to write: WARNING OP LOVES COCK THIS POST IS ABOUT COCK. ITS SO GOOD AND BEAUTIFUL ❤️ GOOD MORNING TO PENISES EVERYWHERE
Frankly, I have seen radfems still reblog things that are trans-positive, because they don't fucking care. I have never seen them reblog something praising how beautiful cock is though--presumably because it just disgusts them, but who knows why.
Anyway. Who exactly do you think "the existence of men does not threaten anybody" is for ? Who do you think would disagree with that statement, and why do you think I have been using it ?
I can give you some hints--anybody who is a gender separatist, or who believes men are inherently dangerous, is going to strongly disagree with that statement. Please look into what type of person that is, and what other things they believe, and then we can continue this discussion if you want. But certainly not until then.
Additionally, I fully intend to keep using my main banners, and just adding in one trans related banner due to the feedback that it could be misconstrued. Im not switching to just trans banners. This is both a space that is safe for men, and for trans people.
#im getting pretty annoyed about this. how do so many of you not know shit about radfems ? its both worrying and irritating as fuck#given that i then get to read the takes of a bunch of people who do not know their tactics or even who they hate#and to be clear: terfs do hate men.#terfs hate a LOT of fucking people. trans women certainly face the brunt of their hatred. this does not mean thats the only group they hate

MEETING ROHAN CAMPBELL AT HALLOWEEN 45
I went to Halloween 45 JUST for him mostly. I was walking around and when I got near his table it all became so real. I started freaking out (in a good way) to my mom Michele Dawson(Nurse Deb) and Rohan saw and heard it all😖
First meet
When I first went up to him I apologized for potentially scaring him and was rambling on and on about how cool he was. He told me it was okay and how he was happy to meet me. He called my Laurie cosplay awesome and while he was signing his autograph he said “This is so cool”. He had the biggest smile ever☺️ I then asked him for a hug and he gave it to me!! Twice actually (Once when I first met him and second for a photo). He told me “It’s really nice to meet you” as he hugged me.
Second Meet
I went to his both a second time because I forgot I wanted him to take selfies on my phone. I go up to him and he asked me how I was doing. I then asked to hold his hand and he said YES! I held his hand and told him how good of an actor he was and how I could tell he’d do big things in the future and a bunch of other stuff like how I want him to be a ghostface and in more horror movies in general. I made sure do look him right in eyes as I did so. His eyes are so light it’s insane.
I asked if he could choke me for one of our photo ops. He was a little surprised but then said he couldn’t choke me but would get close. That’s what I wanted anyway. Then he goes around the table to do it and I was like Woah! I want it for the photo op! I appreciate how eager he was to do it tho.
Then I asked if he could take selfies on my phone and he happily did so! I told him to take as many as he wanted. I just wanted more than one and he took a bunch🤭 He apologized saying he took like 40 but I didn’t mind at all! Then he took a few selfies with me! In some photos we’re laughing but I can’t remember about what. It could be about my nervousness tho.
Photo Ops
I had 4 photos with him then 1 with him and James Jude Courtney. There’s not much to say about it. But he was such a sweet guy. When we did the heart pose I had to guide him and he said “Sorry you’re gonna get sick of me” and I was shocked he said that when this was his 3rd time seeing me. I told him I’d never get tired of him❤️. When I did the proposal pose, I told him I’m gonna propose and I want you to give me your beat reaction. I got on one knee and held his hand and he just bursted out laughing. I couldn’t see him well without my glasses but he was laughing so hard. Then for the photo with James I told them to fight for me! That one was so fun!
Rohan was the absolute sweetest and most gentle person ever! He never made me feel like I was too much and enjoyed my excitement. I can’t believe how nice he was😭
