hellooooooo I have a question—whenever I watch Can’t You See Me? I always feel like one of the main underlying plot points is that Taebin are lowkey fighting/had a fight or argument and there’s a lot of tension between them (just in the music video of course not real life). Do you have any thoughts about the Can’t You See Me? music video and the dynamics we see in it?

Oh yeah dude for sure, that’s definitely the centerpiece of the entire mv in my opinion
Now, I love that everyone interprets the storyline a little differently bc it’s cool to see how people think about the same thing. That being said-
When it comes to CYSM- the centerpiece of the whole thing to me is this like,, distance within the friend group. It starts with the concept trailer, in which Soobin is sitting far away from the others and they’re not speaking with him or looking at him. He looks upset and frustrated until he eventually decides to get up and go over and confront them.
But before he’s able to do that, theres this invisible wall that prevents him from doing so, hes yelling but no one can hear him. Across from him, we see the cat in the shadows (which makes me think that the cat is the one that stopped him from being able to talk to the others).
I think the cat is manipulating Soobin into thinking that he’s the outcast. And Soobin, as we’ve seen- is pretty big on dreams and his dreams predicting future events, or him not being able to differentiate dream from reality.
Now, part of me thinks the cat is controlling his dreams as well. Its really good at manipulating him into being insecure about his place in their friend group. It’s causing him to act out and imagine scenarios that never even happened. It seems like the cat is pretty much the puppet master in all of this, but its being placed on Soobin since he’s the one instigating the issues at the moment.
Soobin feels lonely, and is separating himself despite the fact that they promised to stay together forever. (Forgot to mention how in the one video where he’s drawing on the board, his and Taehyun’s names are separate from the others, and theres a shape around Taebins names with “Together forever” inside of it.
It felt to him like Taehyun was the only one that heard him at the time. But yet he still distanced himself. Thus, being considered a liar for not keeping his promise to be together (hence the crossed fingers in the choreo)
Taehyun saw him doing so, and seemingly got frustrated with him. The two that were once close became separated. Him doing this causes even more tension within the group, making him also a liar for not keeping the promise (which is why he and soobin are the only ones with their fingers crossed)
The tension just kept growing throughout the entire mv and it got to the point of violence. It seems like Beomgyu noticed and took Soobin’s side. Idk if it was willingly or if he was influenced into doing so but it obviously caused a riff between him and Taehyun.
But yeah generally speaking I definitely see the aggression between Taebin in the video.
I feel like, the cat brings out the worst in each of them. Kind of like subtle/not so subtle possession at times. Its hard to tell when the mvs are dreams and when they’re actual events tbh bc theres no clear line, but I think that’s exactly what they’re going for. It leaves much more room for interpretation. I watch videos on the theories of their storyline now and then and got some of my own opinions bc of what others have pointed out.
In general I think TXT has my second favorite kpop storyline (first being aespa).

Glade you asked because it haunts me (the pinned post)
First of all I took some liberties in placing the 'me' still after the 'who?' so it could answer the question but its still on the paper and visually tells the same story. the 'me' smeared with blood is given weight on camera. its important.
if you know blog theory then you know theres an underlying story thats the "real" story which we see glimpses of in s4. john the unreliable narrator either lets it slip or purposely puts it there as a cry for help (how i see it).
For context I'd like to refer to a study in pink. The mystery of that episode revolves around murder by forced suicide. People who are implied to be or explicitly are having affairs (*cough* tst this'll be important later) and one woman who is an explicit alcoholic-- all john mirrors. Sherlock is talking about them to mrs hudson when he notices lestrade just stopped by.
"3 exactly the same" "4. there's been a fourth and there's something different this time." "You know how they never leave notes?. . . this one did."
but of course they're not suicide notes per se. the woman - Jennifer Wilson was having an affair, and had a still born daughter, RosieRachel who's name she left to lead them to her killer. Thematically, suicide is a huge part of the narrative of this show implicity with john in asip and explicitly with sherlock in trf. I could over dissect this for hours, but this is the important factor to consider for john in s4. Murder-suicides were murky in asip because really a suicide IS a murder but without an obvious killer. these people were threatened with a not even real gun or they could take a 50/50 chance so to speak and not die by taking the pill.
Ok, re: Series 4 a Chekhov's gun is an important concept as well, so we can connect these two concepts. the show has done its work to have us associate guns, notes and pills with suicide.
beautifully (in the last frame on that post) in the opening credits, the show blends images of the Note made by faith in tld with a callback to sherlocks fake suicide so we are visually connecting the two. sherlock standing on top of bart's is not in s4 it doesn't have to be there but they did it for a reason.
In tst, it is haunting to me that john gives molly (thee john mirror) a NoteTM to give to Sherlock. Verbally we're told john would "rather have anyone but you." He takes the note gets in the cab and leaves. we see him reading the note. but WE the audience do not see exactly what he's reading. on the surface level the note john gives to sherlock is "bad writing" because of the rule of Chekhov's gun. it has to come back and it does but in a different form. the very next episode the real Faith writes down the note with all the information she can remember that her serial killer father (john mirror) told her (killing is a metaphor for sex sorta but let's not go there right now). Then red dress faith -- BIGGEST john mirror ever! and the most important one in the show besides molly -- brings this Note to sherlock who's lost his mind over it/the events of tst.
and then BEAUTIFULLY sherlock figures out the answer to the question of "who my father wanted to kill" in a flashback to the scene where he gets a Note from john through molly and he remembers the word "anyone." So the figurative gun went off. As an episode, tld is bookended with a visual of a gun that has gone off: we hear the gun but don't see it until afterwards. Same with the end of tld when john is about to be killed by Eurus (john mirror) with a gun. we hear it go off but don't see it or who it hits-- not technically, it's just heavily implied. this is very cherry orchard by the way.
so the Note in tld tells us everything we need to know about John--just indirectly. we never learn explicitly what was in the note john wrote to sherlock in tst, but we don't NEED to because we are told everything we need to know in tld.
Some people interpret the entire of s4 as john's note. I think just tld is the note personally. Some people think john only faked his death or faked his suicide, or he actually did try to kill himself, though it could both honestly. Still, if he did actually try to kill himself I have the opinion that he would've taken pills and drank a lot, maybe in a car :|, or something similar the details aren't really important but it's definitely a lot less permanent than using a gun. the gun just makes things feel more urgent and life or death.
that's everything I think though I could write a lot more essays on this if you have more questions.

attractiveness and morality - or how people think with their metaphorical dicks instead of their brains
people are fucking horny over the villain characters in bleach, i mean specifically the male ones because as we know the female villains are nonexistent lol. but it’s not hard to see how attractive the male characters are even though i just refuse to acknowledge men unless i have too.
however, there is an issue with how we perceive the characters based on how attractive they actually are, more along the lines of how people will excuse any offensive behavior based on physical attractiveness
the convicts oops i mean examples
there are a few examples i can name like popular male villains that people lose their shit over.
aizen is the big one, where despite the crimes he has committed, such as emotional manipulation, attempting to wipe out a whole town, murders, and hollowfying his colleagues and getting away with it. yet, he is sympathized, especially over Tousen who tends to be more villainized by the fandom or at least held in a less favorable regard.
Gin is in the same boat, with the emotional manipulation and general emotional harm inflicted on multiple people but is sympathizes because uwu he loves rangiku even though he did cause her harm, simply because he betrayed her and hurt her friends and colleagues.
Ulquiorra is another very notable one, since he also has that whole manipulation thing although not as blatant as aizen. he did kidnap a minor and abuse her (isolating her, threatens her and her friends, and it is used to control her/keep her in captivity).
Grimmjow is another example, and its especially notable because he’s just very very violent. And he never apologizes or feels remorse for it, despite generally terrorizing Ichigo and co.
Nn*itra is especially reprehensible, he is overtly sexist, as most of his violent acts are targeted at women and uh. actively saying he hates women. creepy (implied sexual) behavior towards a minor as well.
Szayel as well, he has no regard for his minions, and then theres whatever he did to nemu what the fuck that was so fucked what the fuck.
notably, these men are also wildly popular among the fandom. they will have the most fanart, most discussion, most fics i guess. 
why do horny fucks sympathize with them
people empathize with people they see as attractive, and i mean conventional attractiveness. note how none of this empathy extends to people who do not fall in the category as attractive (often pale side eyes) hunk/twink. does zommari get that attention? yammy? why are they not held to the same standard as say szayel/gin or grimmjow. yammy is also angry and prone to violence, much like grimmjow.
what sets them apart is that they are not deemed sexually attractive so therefore, their flaws become easier to ignore and they arent sympathized as much. of course, kubo probably did inadvertently create this problem, seeing as theres a discrepancy in creating a complex character. another example of this is the comparison between byakuya and omaeda. of course, they are obviously different characters, byakuya has more development and screentime. however they are similar in that they are wealthy, in high positions of power, and look down on people they deem inferior for a variety of reasons. byakuya, however, is conventionally attractive and also has screentime. that being said there is an underlying issue of fatphobia as well in reducing omaeda to a comic relief character.
people empathize with attractive people or at least favor them. “People more strongly desire to form or maintain bonds with physically attractive partners relative to unattractive partners—an attractiveness-based affiliation effect (Path B). In turn, through projection, attractive partners are perceived to possess attributes that are compatible with these goals, which largely center on their reciprocation of interest in establishing or maintaining close relationships (Path C).”  this is indicated by the halo effect, “the tendency for positive impressions of a person, company, brand or product in one area to positively influence one's opinion or feelings in other areas“ which also applies to beauty and how attractiveness impacts how one recognizes a person. for example, an attractive person will often be associated with positive traits such as compassion, intelligence, and other desirable traits. it could be things like how appearing well groomed heightens others perception of you, how you will appear responsible and capable.
and this does extend to the villains. aizen is viewed as a tragic villain who fights for injustice or something like that. gin is a tragic antihero i think that did everything for his true love tm. ulquiorra is a tragic villain who does not understand love. grimmjow is grimmjow. nn*itra is somehow tragic with an inferiority complex lmao take that fucking L bug boyyy loser. and szayel... exists. see how fanon interprets these characters despite none of them having any remorse for what they have done. the fandom leaps to provide a justification or rational for their actions no matter how abhorrent they are. yammy and zommari are still held as villains, yet they are not sympathized with in the slightest nor are beloved to that extent. compare the sexualization of these men and the amount of sympathy garnered from the fandom. 
why this matters
its no secret that in online spaces especially, offenders are romanticized or at least sympathized. take the true crime community for example, in which case male serial killers were romanticized despite the atrocities they have committed. and this is linked to the “bad boy” trope that is prevalent in romance novels, where a troubled or dangerous man seems like a desirable partner despite stalking their love interest among other crimes. of course, this also gets a bad rep from wattpad ya books and just ya books in general.
there are examples of this trope. i have vaguely alluded to edward from twilight. there is also the cause of that white guy from 50 shades of gray, which is most known for romanticizing abuse but the audience cannot help but be allured by his white guyness or something/ there is the netflix film “you” where a man stalks a women but it is seen as romantic and people find themselves attracted to joe despite his violence. literally this type of behavior:

there’s ted bundy film and how people raved about how hot he was despite him being an absolute monster and having real victims whos family have to live with the fact that people find their family member’s killer hot. it is this in its absolute extreme, where people are fully aware of their crimes but still find sympathy or attraction towards a criminal. in this case it is the gradual romanticization of violence that may creep up. i cannot assuredly claim that there is a strong correlation between finding villains attractive and romanticizing violence but there can be some indication of this.
and this view of how attractiveness can bleed into criminal court. of course, there are other factors such as gender, sexuality, age of judges and the inherent corruption within the legal system. here is a list of studies about this topic because christ i am not copy and pasting all of that go read it yourself.  but the main takeway is that in mock jurors and other public opinion, the more attractive defendants accused of crimes have less severe sentences or even less sentences (however this is not seen as frequently in judges). it shows that there is a level of sympathy, leniency, or more compassion towards attractive people. 
Conclusion
the point being made here is that attractiveness affects how one sees a person. yes, it is possible to find villains attractive, however the bias of physical attractiveness and actual character can potentially be dangerous if left unchecked. this is not exactly a call to action or a psa because a) i am fully aware that this fandom is horny to the point of brainrot and that it is incurable and b) this is just an analysis on behavior in the fandom. and i am aware that the studies are cishet in nature and are not indicative of the fandom as a whole seeing as there are a fair amount of lgbt people in this fandom. that being said, my point still stands.

Reasons why i hate mikaela hyakuya
@gurensangel @chaoticgaymess sorry i know you wanted me to repost your post but its easier just starting my own and making my own hashtag so incase anyone else asks me about this i can just look for the hashtag and send them this
Mikaela is honestly one of those characters i desperately and i mean desperatly tried to love i mean his kid self was so so easy to love and want to protect and hell i cried a shit ton for him and his past his problems everything but the reality is mikaela is a toxic person and here im going to be explaining everything as clearly as i can though im sure that everyone has heard most of these arguments i also have some most people wouldnt even consider
Why is mikaela toxic? Well simply said when you have one person and only one then its obviously going to be an underlying mental health issue now you could say other characters are similar to mikaela within that regard like every other vampire but heres the thing we dont get to see much of the other vampires so im more or less apathetic to those vampires and their actions however in accordance to mikaela we have watched his actions since day one and his chemistry with the rest of the cast of owari no seraph what grinds my gears isnt the fact that mikaela acts with violence and distrust towards everyone but the actions that the rest of the cast have taken towards mikaela and his inability to react differently towards those same exact characters aka shinoa squad
Shinoa squad has never once treated mikaela with prejiduce with agendas or anything of ill will since day one the fact that shinoa basically is the cause of death of many of her comrads during the nagoya arc where mikaela attacks the jida troop (and yes it is a troop considering that after reading pannel after pannel theres upwards to 20 soldiers who the majority of which are equiped with standard blades unlike the protagonists you know basically cannon fodder) but my problem is the fact that in that chapter shinoa instigated their betrayal to save mikaela from the rest of the troops shinoa's life was threatned straight after acknowledging that this could be the last she ever layed eyes on yuichiro by letting mikaela escape with him first threatened by a random soldier and then right after rika inoue and by her superior narumi makoto and shinoa the fucking chad she is just took all the punishment because she knows damn well that it is her fault her comrads died because of her distraction to allow mikaela to escape eating away the precious time guren baught his soldiers to run away and escape and how does mikaela respond? He tells yuu to abandon them it doesnt take a genius to say that betrayal especially to the hiragi family is met with death even if mikaela doesnt understand the rules and regulations of human law i doubt vampire law is much different meaning he knows damn well shinoa could lose her life for betraying the army for his sake and not just shinoa but her entire squad
I already know what youll say "but but mikas a vampire he has no emotions" bullshit absolute pure fucking bullshit of an argument considering the fact yoichis mention of the word family/freinds was cause for pause for mikaela and not just mikaela look at ferid look at crowley theyre all so vibrant and brimming with personality and emotion and i am damn well sure no one disagrees this could just be kagami's writing and forgetting about this plotpoint
The fact that despite this mikaela is a manipulative fucker we all know yuu is a dumbass no one can deny this the fact that mikaela is willing to point his sword towards yuichiro and threaten him his so called beloved speaks volumes about mikaelas ego his straight up ego thinking that he's the only one that could be right after all mikaelas the wisest of the bunch right i mean after all everyone of his other decisions was followed through with outstanding results anyone? Anyone? Thats right not once has the squad or especially yuichiro listend to mikaela and do to that fact everyone is alive and kicking examples? And almost right after that same situation upon mahiru injuring yuu awakening abadon mikaela high tails and runs away carrying yuu and we actually see a pannel of shinoa squad scrambling for saftey straight up abandoning them again and going so far as to yell that he is yuu's only family despite all the other shit
Alright so lets play into the whole mika doesnt have feelings dont you think that having no feelings would make your sense of judgement all the better? And if so with all the evidence and actions of shinoa squad why in Gods blue earth would he basically act like an actual dick towards shinoa who saved his life risked her life for him as if shinoa is the sole reason yuu is in the prediciment of being possessed by yuu?? Isnt that the least bit infuriating??
On next of we shouldnt listen to mikaela in the same arc again mikaela suggests lets leave shinoa squad to face off against crowley AND FERID with this bullshit of "theyre after us theyll just ignore them" i mean are you kidding me? Ferid the man youve been with for 5 years is going to not have the time of his life killing a bunch of teenagers for the simple fact that if yuu is running away and leaving them.they must not be important to him therefore easy pickings for him

Imo mika cares about how yuu makes him feel rather than who yuichiro is what do i mean by this? He lops off yuu's arm the one that was holding mikaela back from attacking what makes this scene even worse is i had so much hope for mikaeala because the last battle they won mikaela said the thoight of losing his.comrads made him dizzy what happened to him not having feelings? I lived loved loved that statement i imagined uncle mika to yuus kids being the best man to yuus wedding begging to be the one to make the wedding cake so so so so so many au's based off those little words and right after removing yuu's limb from him kimizuki and yoichi step up for guren weapons drawn and mikaela threatens them?!?!?! I mean honestly how fucking hypocritical can you be how big is his fucking ego???
Ill end it with this point because i have work in the morning i Still have another 20 bullet points i want to add but im starting to think i have artheritistis in my hand because my fingers hurt so much but anyway my point being mikaelas character contradicts yui's in an unhealthy way while yuu's character trait is to run towards danger to be a hero mikas is to run from danger its basically a tug of war and the thing is the story so far has actually turned out well for the cast running into danger for yuu made the 6th angels trumpet to grow silent destroying all of the four horsemen monsters and letting humanity take a huge step towards rebuilding but had it been mika's way theyd have run right out of that building never to see it again my point is if someone pulls and runs towards something and another character ties a rope to them and runs the other direction that tension will cause nothing but problems instead of running forward with the protagonist in order to keep them safe and actually contribute into the success of the mission
Also like the hashtags say this is only part 1 because as i said i have to sleep and my hand is killing me i should have done this earlier when i had more energy in order to bring along all the sources like the chapter and page where you can find these exact moments along with photos of said arguments/bullet points

14. the haunting of castle malloy  5/10  fiona’s parents were both killed in an explosion and really messed that girl up.
13. labyrinth of lies 5/10  grigor is an orphan, therefore there is some dead mom content, but its very minimal.
12. midnight in salem   5/10  not a technical dead mom, but dead mother figure with frances tuttle and lauren holt (i think that was their relationship....i played it once and theres not much on the wiki for MID yet) so technically the whole plot is in thanks to it, but i dont remember how much grief there was
11. trail of the twister  6/10  some dead wife content that nancy is an absolute dick about. you read the paper about ma. stop fucking pestering pa.
10. legend of the crystal skull  6/10  we get mr sad boy orphan henry bolet crying at his parents’ crypt. also his mom has the same photo as dr predovicu
9. the creature of kapu cave  7/10  for once we get a hardy asking someone about their dead mom instead of nancy! even tho, no one involved seems too sad about it and is very briefly mentioned. in fact, pua seems kinda happy that it’s just her and her dad so she can just surf all day.
8. ghost of thornton hall  7.5/10  again, dead mom content just because we learn about ancestors. a lotta dead sister/cousin content though. also it really hits you when you’re looking at the dates on the family tree and realize that harper and charlotte’s parents died like 4 years before charlotte died, and then harper and clara were alone except for each other. also the fact that clara’s mother died while she was young and before she ever told her who her father was just to have her new guardians die......rough.
7. secret of the old clock  8/10  woooo!!! another plot caused by a dead mom!!! not at traumatic as haunted carousel, but the culprit posing as your recently deceased mother’s friend is ROUGH. also nancy is actually nice when talking about gloria.
6. warnings at waverly academy  8/10  the twins’ mom dying and dad not knowing how to raise 2 girls causing them to pretend to be one person to get a scholarship and not be put up for adoption is so messy but a very good plot twist
5. tomb of the lost queen  8/10  jamila having a similar experience to nancy, where she thought her mom died in a  car crash, but turns out she was part of something bigger that she follows in her footsteps, KNOWING that it might end in her death too. AND those notes from that first exploration and all of the daughters of nerfertari leaving to find their ultimate dead mom (nefertari) and dying/disappearing in the process....idk it gets me!!
4. sea of darkness  9/10  here we have some primo dead wife action, along WITH the child. extremely sad and gets me absolutely every time i play through it.....the fact that he holds onto it being his fault.... oh my god im getting sad again!!!
3. the haunted carousel  10/10  dead mom content to the MAX. dead dad giving clues to daughter to find the last remaining photo of her dead mother since she burned every image of her after she died and then blacked out the memory. thats some trauma right there. interestingly.... im not sure if we learn her mom’s name even though her plot revolves around remembering her.
2. shadow at the water's edge  11/10  oh yeah theres a dead mom and shes HAUNTING YOU!!! kasumi’s story is so sad and nancy has absolutely no right to be poking into these people’s lives and absolutely deserves every time she gets second chanced because asked the wrong thing about their dead mom. also SO absolutely fucked up that anyone’s boyfriend would go “hmm, i want my sister to quit her job and move to the city with me,... oh yes! i’ll haunt her business with her dead mother. perfect!”
1. the silent spy  10000000/10   the FUCKING ULTIMATE DEAD MOM CONTENT™. nancy suddenly learning that her mother wasn’t just a civilian who died in a car crash and that the people who killed her were now after her??? so juicy. we get carson trying to protect nancy from kate’s fate, we get all those flashbacks, those recordings from revenant, nancy piecing together her mother’s double life that she never knew about... GOD!!!! and yes, i absolutely cry when i read kate’s note to nancy. that shit hits man. also kate writing a song for her and carson and then rewriting it to have a part for nancy in it once nancy was born really gets me too. p.s. moira was in love with kate you can’t convince me otherwise.

“Okay, but why me?”
Sam Wilson hates going undercover. He hated that he had to pretend to be someone else, and it is also a very well known fact that he is absolutely horrible at lying. He’s avoided doing undercover work for a while now, but karma works in mysterious ways, and he knew he couldn’t avoid it forever.
“What, you don’t want to spend some alone time with me, fly guy?”
Your voice pulls him from his thoughts, and he cant help but smile at your teasing. Sam can’t even lie about having a crush on you. The whole team knows it, and you know it too. Sam believes you’re a goddess. You constantly have men lining up, trying to find enough courage to talk to you, and you simply brush off every single one of them, with no regard for their feelings whatsoever. Your flirtatious nature has everyone under your spell, especially the great Falcon himself. What he didn’t know is that you had a soft spot for him. You definitely had a crush on Sam as well, but your underlying commitment issues always held you back from truly making a move on him. You wanted to tell Sam how much you cared about him and his stupidly handsome face, how he’s the best at making you feel wanted and normal, but the last thing you wanted to do was hurt him, so you refrained from ever allowing your feelings to get out of control.
“Oh baby girl, you have no idea.” He returns with a smirk.
“Alright you two, you’ll have enough time to not fuck each other later.” Tony speaks up. Sam’s cheeks turn a cute shade of pink, and you giggle at his embarrassment. “Back to the mission.”

In less than 24hrs after your mission briefing, you and Sam are packed and on a jet to Miami, Florida. The mission itself is pretty simple, some Hydra scum has taken over a beach resort/day club, and you and Sam will act as a couple on vacation, there to check out the “beach scene.”
“That’s what you’re wearing?” Sam asks as you exit the restroom of your shared hotel room. He’s seen you in bathing suits before, but his mouth instantly waters at the sight of you.
“What, you don’t like it? I have other ones! Maybe I should wear the red one?” You ask slowly spinning in front of him. The neon orange string bikini you’ve decided to wear, leaves little to the imagination. Your hands roam the front of your body, a little too sensually, as they make their way to your bottoms to adjust them to cover your butt a little more.
“No, no this ones fine. I just think you’d draw too much attention. We are undercover after all.” Sam finally chokes out. He isn’t trying very hard to not check you out, and you notice.
“Aw Sammie, are you scared some other man might steal me away from you?” You step towards him and stand between his legs, as he sits at the edge of the bed. His hands are in fists by his sides, and his jaw twitches from clenching so hard.
“Well if they’re Hydra, yeah I would.” He deadpans.
With a roll of your eyes you turn back to the restroom. “Fine I’ll change into something more low-key.” You make sure to turn to him and wink before shutting the door.
Sam promptly plops back onto the bed with a sigh. This is going to be the longest three day mission, he thinks to himself.

The first two days are spent scoping out the hotel and beach. You try to enjoy being undercover, and spend your time tanning and relaxing. While Sam stays on alert at all times. He looks like a freaking narc, and you have to remind him to calm down. You didn’t have much of a lead for this specific mission,  you two were there just to scope things out. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary until you spot one of the servers enter into a secret doorway just next to the lobby bar.
You and Sam were making you way back to the hotel room after an interesting time at the resort’s day club. Sam is dressed in a pair of short board shorts and an unbuttoned linen short sleeved shirt. You’re wearing a lovely coverup and a strappy one piece bathing suit underneath. A perfect couple to anyone who saw you.
“I think I’d like to have dinner at this cute little lounge in the lobby tonight babe, what do you think?” You ask inconspicuously as your eyes dart from Sam to the bar. Sam catches the server disappear behind the bar, and he knows what you’re thinking.
“Anything you want, my love.”

After much needed showers, and a quick nap, you and Sam make your way down to the lobby for dinner.
You order a bottle of wine to share, as you enjoy your meal. Sam discreetly sends in redwing to the mysterious hideaway next to the bar. He pushes his tinted sunglasses, courtesy of Tony Stark, up his nose to see the live feed.
“What do you see?” You ask, before taking another sip of your wine.
“It just looks like a wine cellar. No weapons, no hostages. Scanning for any other secret doors… but there’s nothing.” He ends with a tuff. “This mission was pointless.”
“You really think so?” He looks at you and can’t seem to read your emotions. Your question joggles his mind for a second.
“Think what?” He asks.
“That it was pointless. I mean, I know I’m not the best partner, but I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was completely pointless.” You’re eyes turn heavy, and Sam’s heart tighten at your words.
“Baby girl, you know you’re my favorite partner. The only good thing about this mission was that I got to share a bed with you.” His eyebrows wiggle suggestively. But you don’t quite laugh at his teasing.
“You really mean that? I’m your favorite partner?” Your lip wobbles, and Sam reaches out to hold your hand in his.
“Y/N theres no one I’d rather be with right now.”
You smile but it doesn’t quite reach your eyes, Sam notices that your hand feels clammy and hot.
“Sammie I- I don’t feel so hot.” You finally confess. As soon as you do, you slump in your chair. Sam is quick to stand and in one stride he is right by your side, trying to pull you back to consciousness.
“Y/N, please wake up. Y/N? Shit!” He starts to shout. He panics, you were drugged under his watch. His mind is running, trying to think of where things went wrong, and his stomach drops. The wine, he thinks. He grabs your glass and see’s a small remaining tablet at the bottom, slowly still bubbling and dissolving. In one quick motion he picks you up and slings you over his shoulder. Redwing appears and scans for any potential threats. Just as Sam makes it to the elevator, sounds of gun shots ring through the air. He pulls out his pistol from its holster under his coat and shoots at the two men charging towards them. Both men hit the ground as the doors close. As soon as you both make it to the room Sam lays you on the bed, uncertainty swirling through his veins. He thinks he might get sick, he is absolutely disgusted with himself that he let such a stupid mistake happen. He tears open his utility bag to find the burner phone to call Steve.
“Steve, man I fucked up. We need backup now. Wheres Bruce? I need Bruce on the line.” He frantically speaks, he’s panicking and it’s completely out of character for him. But he watches you as you lay unconscious, and he’s never been more worried in his life.
“Woah Sam calm down, what happened?” Steve answers in a calm tone.
“I don’t know cap, It just happened and I don’t know what to do. Our cover is blown, and Y/N’s been drugged. She’s unresponsive.”
“What are her symptoms? Does she have a pulse?” Bruce’s voice comes through the phone and Sam feels relief for at least one second. “She’s burning up man, and she’s really sweaty. She has a pulse but its weak.”
“Okay, sounds like just a basic roofie. There should be a small green bottle in your guys’ tac-bags. Sit her up and pour it down her throat. She should be fine.”
“Stay where you are Sam. Extraction is on its way.”
Sam hangs up and runs to his bag, and pulls out the green bottle. He then pulls you up and into his lap. With one hand he holds your jaw opening your mouth, he makes sure to pour out the whole bottle before throwing it to the floor. He can’t remember a time where he’s been this worried, especially for someone  else’s safety. He holds you tight to his chest as he rocks you back and fourth. Built up tears start to fall from his face and into your hair.
“Baby girl I’m so sorry I let this happen. I’m sorry you hear me? God Y/N please wake up. I never told you what you mean to me. I love you, and it’s stupid but I do. You’ve stolen my heart Y/N, you can’t leave me now. Please.” He pleads.
A couple of minutes pass by and you start to move in his arms. You cough a little and he holds you tighter, not ready to see you in distress.
“Sam?” Your throat is dry and your head is pounding. “What happened?”
“Some asshole drugged you. I’m so sorry I let this happen, God I’m so stupid.”
“Did you get the bastards?” You weakly pull away just enough to look at his face, full smirk presented.
“Yeah, well at least the two that were shooting at us.” Sam sniffles.
“Aww my hero. Are you crying baby boy?” You place a hand on his jaw, wiping some stray tears from his cheeks.
“Well yeah, I thought you were dying!” He defends, quickly trying to regain his composure.
“I heard you, ya know? Everything you said to me while I was out.” You search his eyes, giving him his chance.
“Like I said, I thought you were dying.” Sam states again, looking anywhere but at you.
“Sam.” You place both hands on his cheeks now, allowing him to look straight at you. You smile, knowing damn well you can’t back out now.
“I love you too.”
“You do? “ He’s shocked, truly caught off guard because he can’t count how many times you’ve actually friend zoned him.
“Yes Sammie of course I do.” You burst out into giggles as his arms circle around you once again to settle you onto his lap. “Wanna kiss me and find out?” You now tease, regaining your strength.
Oh and he does, he kisses you silly. Sam puts all his love and emotions into the kiss and you contently sigh. His lips on yours feels like new beginnings. Something you’ve been missing in your life, but you never really noticed it was gone until now.
Sam Wilson hated going undercover, until now, that is.

Rose stops typing, a nerve in her snapping. Her face goes beet-red, despair swelling into wrath. She sets her claws to the keyboard once more.
TT: Then if not by your grace, I’ll make you forget through spite. GA: What TT: I want to be forgotten. I want my existence to be erased from this failure of a timeline. I never loved you. You meant nothing to me. GA: Rose TT: My departure will be a curse upon you unless you forget. Whether by magic or by will, you must forget me. All those memories I made with you meant nothing. I did those things only to ensure my own survival. Your presence was happenstance at best. TT: Now that I’m heading out on my own, our destinies are uncoupled. Whatever happens to you is beneath me. True to her word, Rose closed her laptop and walked briskly to the edge of the floating laboratory to wait for the satellite to pass by. Sheer anger coursed through her veins, hoping that would mask her true intent. She had never displayed that kind of fury before, let alone to Kanaya. If she played her cards right, Kanaya might still join her, moved by the pure strength of her conviction. But there was no hesitant hand on her shoulder, begging her to stay or to join her. There was no last-second plea, no ‘Rose Wait’, and not even a footstep in her general direction as she waited.
Resigned, she boarded the satellite, breaking her word and casting a desperate glance back as the satellite continued its course away. Through the tiny window, she could see Kanaya simply looking down at her grubtop, her face stained jade. Regret swelled, and for just a second, she could feel herself begin to open the hatch and jump back towards the meteor. But the second passed, and soon she was out of range to give even a cursory wave goodbye.
The same tears begin to stream down her face as she closes the pesterlog and wraps her sheets tighter around her shoulders. She can’t keep putting off her meeting with Cetus forever... but she still doesn’t know how she’ll reckon with the shadow of her failed ploy.

Alrighty its monday munday! time for some insight on about me! read more cause dang its long, but at the end is a lovely thank you for reading!
Yo guys, its Leche. Ive been here in the poke rpc for some 5+ years now. My very first rpc that I’ve joined an grown from which Im really happy to say. It might have its knicks and knacks, but its good grounds for newbies to get their feet wet with building muses and get into the foundations of what is rp’in in tumblr cause here it always feels like everyone somehow knows one another. Ain’ as huge as some rpcs where people get lost in or as small as others where maybe one or two of the muse is active on different times. I’ve been part of both these types of communities.
Anyways I’ve never really talked?? about myself?? especially the important parts like communicating with this ol’ cow or other tidbits. Always just focused on my muses cause I just wanna escape myself essentially but its munday! Im Leche, I enjoy dry humor, coffee, the sound of my washing machine on spin cycle, and spring. Im a Taurus sun, Scorpio moon, Latinx, 26 and tired but okay in general right now. 
Communicating with me is, don’t want to say difficult, cause like what is difficulty really? I’d say it’s different. I have what my therapist and psychologist call a: “interesting case” of Social Anxiety and General Anxiety ( throw in underlying seasonal depression, give it a good stir and ~whalla~ it’s the soup thats me). Im happy to say I’ve worked pretty well with them on this. I no longer physically shake when I talk to strangers or cry when I have to talk on the phone anymore. I’m present when I talk to friends and I know how to handle conversations with customers. Nothin’s perfect n’ all, but good to say I have mental tools and meds that have been taught tried and true.
Course the only thing that I don’t have any professional help with is talking on the internet. Cause IM, chat or not, I’m still talking to someone on the other side of the screen. It’s still something of a challenge to keep a conversation with someone on any sort of IM. I leave conversations for hours or days on end before I can respond. Sometimes we don’t even finish a conversation before a new one comes up or there are days, weeks or months when im not present on any IM system at all. No conversation with me on IM of any kind is linear as it is in the air and I think its wonderful and comfortable that way! I can’t sit there and have an IM conversation for more than a few sentences in without a break cause you know, the symptoms come back with the shaking, the heart racing and my anxiety sort of scattering thoughts.
Not to say no one should have a conversation with me. In fact I quite encourage it! I get better with talking to people that way and Im excited to talk to people about things like our muses or plots cause all day everyday my conversations are tailored to my customers or to my bosses ( I co-own a bar out here, so theres a lot of conversing going on). Just know that even a few sentences between us is considered a good conversation and that its a little disjointed but still on going!!
But I know sometimes its frustrating for other people. In fact I hurt a little and get frustrated when others misunderstand how I talk to people. I’ve been called out, yelled at, forced to talk, or accused of not being ‘a good friend’ cause of my process. I know otherwise though, its because of misunderstanding more than anything. People take it personal and I want you all to know, genuinely, it really is me and my anxiety and not you. Know that when there’s long lapses it’s not because I don’t want to talk to you, plot with you, etc. it’s because Im recharging! 
It’s strange considering the nature of social anxiety and internet where there is no face -- but still, its a conversation between people ( or a couple even! ). Im still to this day finding quirks like, I can have long linear conversations with peeps in tags than I can in IMs for some reason OTL. I prefer tumblr im and Im actually quite terrified of discord which is why im not on it 80% of the time ( but still want to use it, im working on that!). 
Anyways thats just a lil ol’ slice of pie thats me. I want to thank the friends I have that somehow figured this out with me and I can pop in at anytime and bring up a conversation without skipping a beat. And for peeps that Im gonna be pals with?? lookin forward to meeting you!  Thanks for reading and I hope we can have some great weird conversations together!!

Last Call (Ethan Ramsey x MC)
A/N: I know what most could be thinking...what the hell it’s only been two chapters, but I can’t help it! I feel so much excitement and adoration for Dr. Ethan Ramsey. We don’t know much about him but ideas were popping in my head all weekend.  Any details I reference about his past in this fic is original content I conceived and nothing confirmed in PB cannon. This would definitely not be apart of cannon so cannon divergence here. The song used briefly in this fic is “These Arms of Mine” by Otis Redding.

Summary: Dr. Ethan Ramsay takes time to reevaluate the newest intern that’s captured his attention in more ways than one, whether he wants to admit it or not.

In the mischievous hours of the night Dr. Ethan Ramsey sits alone in the now barren Donahue’s nursing another drink. The place once buzzing with noise is now near sheer silence except the gentle music playing from the jukebox. The last crop of stragglers, only a few with slurring speeches make their exit. Hearing the soft thud of the door shutting he let out a mild grunt and raises his near empty glass towards the bartender.
“Last one, buddy. My knees are screaming and any minute longer I’ll be visiting you at your job versus you visiting mine.”
Reggie says as he refills the glass and then grabs a rag to clean.
“Now we can’t be having that now.” Ethan replies before taking a small gulp.
Suspicious at such warm words from the man Reggie stops wiping down the counter to look at Ethan.
“Hmm, that’s strangely kind of you-”
Before Reggie can finish his sentence Ethan cuts him off all the while looking into his diminishing drink
“Because then who will serve me drinks at my beck and call?”
His eyes shine with mirth as looks at Reggie while he takes another sip.
“You almost had me there. You’re a cheeky bastard, you know that? I should throw your ass out for that.” Reggie says while shaking his head amused.
“But you won’t because you’re too good. That’s exactly why the likes of myself don’t deserve you as friend Reg.”
“Heh, damn right. I only keep you around because you tip well.”
Ethan chuckles at the man in front of him.
“Never change, Reggie.”
“Wasn’t planning to buddy.”
The two men finish laughing when the shoosh of the door opens and a young African-American woman enters while calling over her shoulder before the door closes.
“I’m going to use the restroom and wait inside until the Lyft comes. Night everyone!”
Recognizing the voice speaking  Ethan turns and sees Dr.  Katrina Michaels. As she moves from the entrance and towards the back right of the bar to the restrooms his gaze follows and he retreats to his mind briefly.
“I haven’t quite figured out why but there’s something about the rookie that intrigues me.”
Reggie notices his friend is watching the woman from earlier and can already gather what could be the reason why. Being the good friend that he is Reggie decides to give his old pal  a nudge in the right direction. So he taps Ethan on the shoulder to get his attention.
“Welp, I gotta clean up in the back. Keep an eye on the place for me. Especially the little lady, I’m leaving both in your capable hands.”
Ethan quirks an eyebrow at Reggie as he takes another swig and asks
“What are you getting at Reg?”
Reggie smirks to himself and shrugs his shoulders before he turns to leave Ethan alone and enters a side door near the shelves of alcohol. Ethan scoffs and continues to drink his glass of scotch enjoying the the burning sensations that slide down his throat. His thoughts lingers to earlier in the night when talking to Katrina.
“She definitely is different in the real world but on the hand not so much.  I don't quite understand why this intern is different from the others. Other than  proving herself capable so far but outside  EdenBrook I notice that my thoughts have dawdle on her more  trivial attributes. Such as her underlying fierceness or perhaps her vivaciousness. Well I suppose I can’t say I truly recognized these qualities more so I overlooked them, one such as her beauty. She truly is stunning. It makes me wonder why a woman like her spent time near me when the place was swarming with younger men. Especially asking if someone was waiting at home for me. It can’t be what I think… no I probably need to ease off the alcohol right now. Besides who would wait around  for me anyway? Edie surely doesn’t anymore.”
As he sets his glass down back on the counter he hears a soft voice calling his name which removes him from his thoughts. Without turning around he says
“Hello again, rookie.”
“I’m surprised to see you still here Dr. Ramsey.” Katrina Michaels murmurs.
He turns to face the intern and replies
“I’m surprising in a lot of ways.”
She smiles and delicately places herself  onto the stool that’s next to Ethan.
“You’ll have to  prove that you know.”
Despite himself he smirks at her. His gunmetal blue eyes piercing into Katrina’s hazel ones. Their gazes seem to challenge yet captivate the other. There’s a comfortable yet tense air between the two until the smooth vocals of Otis Redding play from the jukebox.
“These arms of mine, they are lonely. Lonely and feeling blue. These arms of mine are yearning, yearning  from wanting you...”
The song continues to play as Katrina speaks.
“You know he’s is one of my favorite artist. I used to...”
As she speaks Ethan watches the woman in front of him. He observes the way her eyes are lit up to how a rogue strand of her curly hair hangs, and even how in the dimly lit bar her smile radiates and contrasts with her beautiful coffee-hue complexion. He tries to listen to all she’s saying, now beginning to tell him about much of a fan she is. But he’s beginning to distract himself with his thoughts once more.
“Of course this song plays. Very convenient timing, I’d say. I bet Reggie had something to do with this. It’s been so long since I had someone. At this point other people would take anyone. But I could never at my stage in life. That’s why I’m here at almost one in the morning. I wonder why she’s here too, besides being young.”
Ethan breaks away from his mind to refocus back onto Katrina whose finishing up a compliment about his research.
“Katrina, may I ask you a question?”
“Of course, Dr. Ramsey.”
“First, outside of EdenBrook you may call me, Ethan.”
Katrina runs her hand through her hair before replying
“Are you sure, Dr. Ramsey?”
He rolls his eyes briefly before turning to look at his glass to take another sip of his scotch.
“Yes, rookie. You referring to me as doctor outside of the hospital makes me look a bit pretentious.”
“I think that’s your own doing, Dr. Ramsey.”
He pauses lifting his glass to meet his mouth in midair and turns to glare at her but it falters once he hears the bubbling of laughter escape her plump lips. He goes back to take a swig and places his glass back down gently.
“Sorry. I couldn’t pass that up...Ethan.”
“Now, was that really that difficult?”
“Not exactly, but it’s a bit strange. To be on first name basis with your idol.”
“I’m just a man, rookie. Not a celebrity or some god.”
Katrina turns her face away from Ethan and averts her eyes from his as she whispers
“Maybe, but you sure do have god-like looks.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t make out what you said?”  curious of what she said.
“It’s not important. But you wanted to ask me something?”
“Yes I do. I happen to be thinking of what you asked me earlier in the night and wondered the same.”
“Is that so? Is there a reason why you liked to know?”
Her tone so playful with a hint of flirtation that he couldn’t decipher if he imagined it or not.
Instead of speaking he shrugs his shoulders in response.
Smiling to herself and looking down before meeting his eyes again.
“I’m just like you. No one awaiting my return.”
“Interesting.”
The fading music is more audible as the two stop speaking momentarily
“...I need somebody. Somebody to treat me right, oh. I need your arms. Loving arms to hold me tight. And I, I, I need your, I need your tender lips to hold me.”
A chime from Katrina’s cell phone breaks the silence before either one of them could.
“That’s my Lyft. It’s two minutes away so, I’m going to waiting outside.”
Ethan nods in understanding, she begins to remove herself from her seat, but still slightly tipsy she slips and falls into Ethan’s body who reacts immediately.  He grasps firmly yet gently ahold of her,  keeping her steady. Both freeze from the sudden contact and close parameters they are from the other.
Katrina can see Ethan’s adam’s apple bob up and down in his throat and he thinks to himself while staring at Katrina.
“I suddenly have the urge to gently brush the curls away from her beautiful eyes and...I need to stop this instant. It’s late and I am feeling a bit lonely but I’m beginning to enter a dangerous area. This would lead to an H.R. nightmare. I can’t let myself get tangled with the matters of the heart. Especially with my, ahem, the rookie. God, I need to lay off the sauce for a while.”
He’s pulled from his thoughts when Katrina removes herself from his arms.
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it, rookie.”
“Is that going to be a permanent thing? Even outside of work?”
“What?”
“Rookie. I mean you’ve called me by my first name earlier tonight even when I thought you didn’t even know it, much less remember it nor care to.”
“I’ve told you. I’m observant...rookie. Does that answer your question?” He says smirking at her.
Rolling her eyes she moves to make her way to the exit.
“Yes it does. And you deny that you’re favoring me.”
“I’ll let you believe what you want. Even if it’s a silly notion.”
“Whatever you say, Dr. Ramsey” she purrs.
Ethan feels his heart rate increase briefly. Before he can respond, she speaks up.
“My ride should be here now. I’ll see you around Dr. Rams- I mean Ethan.”
She rubs her hand obsessively through her hair before giving him a quick wave as she inches closer to the door.
“For whatever reason my name leaving her lips sounds right. As the same for hers. Katrina. Ka-tri-na. I’d like to say it more than just in my...Okay enough. I must stick with calling her  rookie. That’s what's...what’s safe.
Katrina opens the door which pulls Ethan out and he speaks for the final time
“Have a good night...Katrina. Get home safe.”
She stops at hearing her name being used and turns back around and grins wide at Ethan.
“You too.”  she steps outside and calls back to Ethan.
“Maybe once I’ve graduated from rookie or you tire of it, you can call me Kat. Whichever comes first.”
Without another word or glance she walks out the door.
Ethan is left staring at the spot she was occupying before turning his attention back to his glass. He drains the rest of his drink and retreats into his thoughts.
“So much for playing it safe. Then again, what’s life without a few risks.”

Tbh the Far Cry franchise should have made the Dep a female main character w/ a canon face & voice
B4 I start I'm just gonna say that I love far cry 5 and I loved the way it played and the story but sometimes I think they missed an opportunity here. And I'm gonna stick to the plot and events that happen in game instead of speculating a whole new plot because it was starting to get to be too much even for me.
If they wanted to reinvent the way u play far cry, like they did in New Dawn they should have done it all in New Dawn, including the character creation.
It would have made telling the Judge's story easier because u could have the character talk and interact with the world and the characters.
Honestly I think Far Cry 5 would have been just as good if it had a female main character. The backstory of the character could have been Joseph's daughter, because it would have made sense with the religious angle they were going for.
He thought he killed her and probably left town soon after and I don't imagine he was easy to track down so his kid could have been adopted/thrown into the system/given to Joseph's wife's parents and Joseph never would have known because he was following God's plan, and that included him having 'killed' his daughter.
It would have created a natural tension between the Seed's and the Deputy. Their could have been the underlying theme of familial bonds vs friendships, toxic family systems, the whole 'sins of the father's idea, you would have to watch ur character realize that Joseph tried to kill her and would do so again, and of course cycles of abuse and maybe ending them.
It would help give Faith's character more depth I think, because I think it would lead to some insecurity on her part. We know she isn't the first Faith so it means she's replaceable and if Joseph's daughter made an appearance she could easily see that as a threat to her own safety because who would be able to fill that role more perfectly than Joseph flesh & blood daughter? I just think it would give Faith a reason to not want the Dep to see eye to eye with Joseph. It would give her more complex motivation to, on one hand, keep Joseph happy by being the one to recruit her, on the other hand, potentially secure her own demise by recruiting her.
I think it would be really sad for the Dep to kill Faith. I feel like they would have been able to develop a really weird relationship where Faith would try to help the Dep, but in ways that would also help Faith. Like instead of recruiting she would push for her to leave Hope County and not come back, while also knowing that it would be a better fate than being in the cult.
It would have been very telling for John's character I think. We would see if he continued the cycle that his parents started with him, because he would torture his niece and inflict or at least intend to inflict the same violence on her that his family subjected him to.
I feel like it would be more meaningful for Joseph's daughter to kill him and essentially end the cycle that he tried to continue. It would have been bittersweet to see that John could have been this great caring uncle who learned from his own trauma but never got the chance.
Jacob would have a legitimate reason to not want to kill his niece. In game its because Joseph doesn't want the Deputy dead and that's his reasoning (which why does Joseph not want the dep dead anyway? The Deputy's purpose is essentially served once they start his apocalypse and I know theres that whole 'save the sinner' thing but I think it would make more sense if he didn't want to kill his daughter again). Jacob who has been known to be protective of his family would want to be able to protect his niece and his reasoning for keeping her alive would be justified and justifiable for his character.
Joseph would have to have this struggle with his daughter. He would essentially have to deal with the repercussions of 'killing' her as well as trying to convert her to seeing things his way. It would have given the Deputy a reason to stay in Hope County and deal with Joseph because in game what's stopping you from leaving and getting help? If the dep was Joseph's daughter it would make sense that she wouldn't leave because she may want to get the closure of why Joseph abandoned her, because she wouldn't have known it was attempted murder until he told her.
It would have made for a more interesting ending tbh.

RevieWBY: Volume 6
This has been stated so many times, but Volume 5 was bad. Okay, it wasn’t terrible, like I don’t feel offended by it being bad (unlike certain folks), but looking back on it I don’t have anything to say to really defend it as something Rooster Teeth should have talked up as much as they did at the time. It had some good things going for it, but the amount of problems it had in terms of animation and writing really put a sour taste in everyone’s mouth. So for Volume 6 to deal with all that fallout, it was going to have to do a lot. And to their credit, CRWBY accepted the criticism in stride, and actively worked to make Volume 6 something that people who despised Volume 5 might enjoy.
Still, one had to go into this season with the understanding that some people were never going to be completely satisfied with whatever CRWBY did. Because at the end of the day, the RWBY that Rooster Teeth currently makes is not Monty Oum’s show anymore. No, this isn’t saying CRWBY is in any way disrespecting his legacy, it’s just Monty Oum had a certain method to running the show that only he could really get away with: epic fight scenes, suddenly throwing giant curveballs into the series’ mythology, taking vital time away from storytelling so the fights looked cool. I mean, there are people who criticize the show for doing that now when they didn’t give two shits when Monty did it, because Monty did it in a manner that somehow worked. I don’t know how he did it, but he did, and, well, he’s not here to do it, and there’s no way even a huge animation team can collectively do things like him. And they shouldn’t: if they can use a better industry standard animation engine than Poser, than the fact that Monty Oum didn’t like animating with Maya shouldn’t stop them.
Blah blah blah...this is all about FNDM reception. What did I think of Volume 6?
Well...
Focus
In my mid-volume review I cited this as Volume 6′s strongest aspect, and as far as I can tell this remains the case. By focusing our hero storyline on one group and for the most part the villain storylines on only a few characters who were paired off, Volume 6 effectively told a story that didn’t force the viewers to juggle multiple things and find some semblance of a continuing story. Everything happened linearly and the whole thing made for a more enjoyable watch overall.
Tone
Building off of that renewed focus, this volume felt like it had more of a consistent tone that lasted from beginning to end. RWBY markets itself as an anime show and uses a lot of that anime-style of humor (slapstick and comedically exaggerated emotions), but honestly it’s always played fast and loose with using that humor in a way that doesn’t feel out of place. In this volume it was more consistently used, and that’s largely thanks to the nailed down focus that allowed character interactions to utilize the humor in a natural way. Ruby and Maria Calavera were especially good sources for humor.
Now, things did get a little more screwball when Cordovin came into the mix, but it was interesting seeing CRWBY take that humor to a logical extreme for the first time in a while (not since the Beacon years). It interrupted the tone for a bit, but not in a manner that overall changed the genre this show is going for.
Animation
Beautiful. The improved production pipeline that we’ve heard about really came through. These episodes were the best they’ve ever looked, minus a few errors here and there, showing just how amazing RWBY can look when you give the animators time to add their own touches. There was some really great fight animation to boot: none of the fights this volume felt awkward, and you could tell the animators had a lot of fun.
Worldbuilding/Storytelling
It feels weird saying that Volume 6 did a better job with worldbuilding than Volume 4, which took place on four different continents and traveled across one, and Volume 5, which took place on two different continents and featured the second major skirmish between the villains and the heroes. I think this has to do with just how well it was integrated into the story: insight into the world came at points where the story needed it and when the viewers wanted it. Nothing ever felt like a massive info dump better suited World of Remnant; where there was just too much information delivered that wasn’t relevant to what was happening in the show. Volumes 4 and 5 had this same problem with establishing the world, often telling us too much in a way that just didn’t feel natural to the story. With Volume 6, almost every chapter up until the final Argus arc included some form of that insight:
Chapter 1 showed us how ordinary civilians deal with traveling through Grimm territory––the steps they take to protect themselves
Chapter 2 showed us some aspects of the Mistral criminal underground, not telling us too much about it but suggesting it was much larger than what Cinder encountered.
Chapter 3 showed us...so many things.
Chapter 4 offered a sense of the stakes RWBY faced in relation to all of Remnant.
Chapter 5 and 6 gave us a glimpse at another form of non-city life in Remnant.
Chapter 7 introduced us to Argus, my favorite of all the Remnant cities we’ve seen; plus a glimpse into the life of the silver-eyed warriors; and a more representative depiction of what domestic life is like in Remnant
Chapter 8 told us what Atlas personnel who aren’t Ironwood or Winter are like, plus the long-awaited insight into how the silver eyes work.
Chapter 9 shows something of the effect the Battle of Beacon, and by extension Pyrrha’s death, had outside of our core group.
Things kind of teeter off with the finale arc, but that’s because worldbuilding became a little less important to what was going on. This is kind of a stretch, but the mech fight and the arrival of the Grimm in Argus give us an idea of how large non-capital cities defend themselves without just spelling everything out.
All in all, this volume delivered on some impressive worldbuilding, probably the best the series has had in a while. It wasn’t massive info dumps unless it needed to be (e.g. Chapter 3), and it offered just enough for other important things like the storytelling and the action to still be in the forefront.
Characters
Volume 5, despite the fact it involved the major reunion of Team RWBY after two volumes, felt like it was simply putting the main characters through situations without those situations really doing anything to develop them or define them as anything beyond what we already knew. Some characters fared better on the development front, namely Yang, but others, especially Ruby, just seemed to be along for the ride without us getting any insight into them. This is where the writing issue that came from separating everyone starting with Volume 4 really came to a head: too many different characters with their own story to cover, and sometimes those stories just didn’t do much for the character beyond existing as a situation they were in.
Volume 6 feels like the refutal of that, and that mostly has to do with the fact that we’re not juggling so many storylines anymore. When a major event happens to the heroes, everyone gets affected at the same time. The train crashes? DEVELOPMENT! Jinn’s story? DEVELOPMENT AND INSIGHT! Snowstorm? INSIGHT! The Apathy? DEVELOPMENT! Telling team JNR about Jinn’s story? DEVELOPMENT! Adam ambushes Blake and Yang for the first time since Volume 3? DEVELOPMENT! WITH A HEALTHY DOSAGE OF ANGST!
Surprisingly, the same thing is happening to two of our favorite villains, Mercury and Emerald: even though they only really appeared in three chapters this Volume, we actually got a surprising chance to see how their defeat at the Battle of Haven affected them, and their increasingly strong misgivings about working for Salem. We get more of an idea of them as people rather than Cinder’s blind followers, understanding why they stuck with such an evil person for so long. It’s the most we’ve learned about them since Volume 3, and we didn’t even need lengthy flashbacks.
Even Adam got some more insight. RWBY has been following the path that Adam was an abusive ex-boyfriend for quite a while now, but there was always this underlying thought that he got into the White Fang business for a seemingly noble cause. The problem was the show hadn’t depicted how he got from Point A to Point B. The Adam Character Short offered us some of that much needed insight, putting some of his actions up to this point in a new context, even if it was set-up for clearing up some things so they could get rid of him.
Of course, there are still exceptions to characters getting character development, and honestly they’re kind of glaring ones. Oscar’s development arc, where he came to accept he was his own person, completely happened offscreen (for reasons that I’ve brought up before and will reiterate in the final section), robbing us of really witnessing his growth as a person. I enjoyed some of the stuff Cinder did this volume, especially her escape from the vault and her fight with Neo. But honestly she continues to be a pretty bland villain with little hints at her motivations for being such a terrible person: the Battle of Haven was such an utter defeat for her there needed to be some form of consequence that would’ve affected her character while also telling us more about her. Maybe it would’ve been her strategizing her revenge, which would’ve gotten more insight into how she thinks as a master planner. Instead, we get her leaving the vault, more or less going back to what she used to do but in a more low-key setting, fighting with Neo, plotting with Neo, and leaving with Neo. It felt more like “Hey, she’s alive, and here’s what she’s doing,” which while I appreciate it feels kind of a waste of time if you’re not doing anything with her beyond that. Honestly, a post-credits reveal that she was alive and then a pre-Volume 7 character short detailing how she made it to Atlas that covered her and Neo’s entire storyline this volume would’ve been more helpful.
Before I go on to my most major critique of this volume, I need to address the two Goliaths in the room.
Adam
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: they needed to get rid of Adam. The way things have been going, there was only so much more you could do with his character before he became a nuisance that was overstaying his welcome. I understand people wanted some deeper insight into him, but the fact was he was never introduced to be a major villain to anyone beyond Blake and later Yang. They could’ve had him have a thing against Weiss, but they didn’t, they focused the time that would’ve made him a major villain for everyone else on making people like Roman and Cinder and Salem the big villains. They decided on the path of abusive ex-boyfriend a very long time ago, and if you hadn’t figured that out after the Adam Character Short I honestly think you were being willfully ignorant to what’s been building up.
The best I can say is that Adam and his history is a missed opportunity for some pretty interesting storytelling and worldbuilding, but the fact remains: it is not his story that they want to tell, it is not his show. It may make something interesting to think about, but Adam’s story is supplementary, and works better in supplementary material, a la character shorts and maybe mangas.
Jaune
Y’all need to quit it with the “Hrrr drr Jaune took up time again moan moan Miles Luna is self indulgent” talk, he barely did anything this volume beyond Chapter 9 and having a sister that the whole fandom loved.
Pacing
This...this is where Volume 6 ran into trouble.
Overall, from the season premiere to the finale arc, this was probably the best-paced season of RWBY we’ve ever had. Major story events happened right when we needed them, and for the most part they didn’t drag out story arcs for any longer than they needed to be.
Well...until they reached Argus, that is.
At face value, a lot happened in the final couple of chapters. Chapter 8 gave us Maria explaining the silver eyes, Chapter 9 had the scene with Pyrrha’s statue and the mysterious Red-Haired Woman (I’ll headcanon whatever I want about who she is, Jen Brown) Chapter 10 started the Cordovin fight, Chapter 11 reinforced Blake and Yang’s partnership, Chapter 12 killed Adam, and Chapter 13 had Ruby finally use her silver eye powers to defeat a Grimm and they made it to Atlas. Yeah, it was a pretty eventful set of episodes.
So then why did it feel like it dragged? Here are a couple reasons that I’ve identified.
1. The Cordovin Battle sidelined story arcs for too long
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: the finale arc should not have been split up like that over so many episodes. It afforded us some pretty well-animated fights, some of the best the series has ever had, but the volume hadn’t been relying on that action to keep up the forward momentum, but on actually telling the stories of these characters. I get the need for CRWBY to prove that they can do well-animated fights, but as I’ve come to accept action should never take precedence over storytelling (I know, that’s hard to swallow when parts of the fndm spends hours complaining about how Monty’s not animating the fights anymore). And it’s clear to me in this final arc put emphasis on the action over the momentum of the story, bringing the actually pretty good storytelling the volume had had up to that point to a grinding halt.
Now, historically RWBY fights have delayed telling stories, but it’s never been for too long, at most maybe two chapters? But if you spend three chapters on a single fight, thereby devoting three weeks of your viewers’ time to high-octane action, people are gonna notice that the story is basically going nowhere.
What could’ve made this less of a problem? Well, perhaps establishing Cordovin earlier and making her less of a buffoon would’ve eased my hatred of this arc. Volume 6 lacks a clear antagonist for the story, but the way Cordovin was treated as a big deal in this final battle made it seem like she was taking up that role, except we didn’t even see her until the final half of the volume, and in her debut we couldn’t take her seriously as a villain, much less an antagonist, because of the pure comedy they used in her intro. There needed to be something about her at least a few episodes early––take this with a grain of salt because I think following JNR in Argus would’ve killed the balanced pacing of the first half of the volume (and just made the Jaune haters apoplectic), but maybe a few quick scenes of JNR arriving in Argus and getting rejected by her would’ve been helpful. Or honestly easing off on the comedy of her intro. Such a one-note character who we are primed to not take seriously isn’t interesting as a major force, so identifying her as a more threatening roadblock for the heroes would’ve made the stakes of the final fight a little more...present.
2. Important storylines got trimmed for time’s sake and weren’t addressed properly.
@hypeathon (whose excellent production analyses for this Volume are well worth a read) identified a tweet Miles made back in October, prior to the premiere and most likely when they were finishing storyboards, about “killing your darlings.” For those unaware and who may have severely misinterpreted that comment, “killing your darlings” is when writers have to sacrifice something they love or want to do so that the story works better. The timeliness of this tweet (after they would’ve finished the script but before they’d wrapped on storyboards and voice acting for the final episodes) suggests the writers’ room had to cut a lot of material from Volume 6 (what Miles called a massacre of darlings), most likely due to production limits or not having enough time to cover them.
Think about it: the story from Chapters 1-7 was really good: everything was properly spaced out, the scripts felt polished, there was a balance of action and comedy and legit storytelling, the good pacing lasted longer than it ever has within a single volume.
Then we hit Chapter 8 and suddenly it all changes: storylines don’t get the proper time devoted to them, arcs come to a screeching halt due to the big fight. Unlike previous volumes, where the imbalance was pretty much the entire volume, there’s actually a clear point right in the middle of this volume where things suddenly took a turn for the worse. And the fact is, some of the problems with the story in the final arc suddenly make more sense if you accept that time that would’ve been devoted to it got sidelined in this “purge”: Qrow’s alcoholism suddenly getting brushed aside after Chapter 9 hopefully to be addressed next volume, Oscar disappearing and all his development happening offscreen, Adam’s completely unsubtle return after only a vague hint in Chapter 1 that would’ve been stronger if he’d kept popping up in Argus. I’d even go so far to say the odd pacing of the final few chapters could easily have been the result of the writing team not being able to devote a single chapter to such a grand fight, so they needed to stretch it out so CRWBY could actually animate it within reasonable deadlines, which meant sacrificing time for those arcs that so desperately needed development.
So what overall is gonna fix RWBY’s pacing in the future? Well, I think at the moment the show is too ambitious. If it wants to keep to a reasonable production schedule, they need to control the scale of their finales so that it can be completed without needing to sacrifice other storylines. If it wants to hold onto that ambition and make the finales as grand as they want it to be to do their boy Monty proud, then they absolutely need to delay the actual release of the volume so they can put in the proper amount of time to both the story and animation. And I don’t think anyone would mind waiting a little longer for Volume 7 if it meant this show got the care and attention it needs to tell the story it clearly wants to tell.
Conclusions
Evaluating Volume 6 is impossible without evaluating what came before it. RWBY was never a perfect show, but when you lose someone who was responsible for the show’s popularity in the first place and have to change how it’s made to make up for his absence, there’s going to be backlash. Backlash from the fans, and, uh, backlash from inside the company. The fact is, people are never going to be satisfied with the RWBY that Rooster Teeth makes today, and Rooster Teeth is never going to push out a RWBY that will make everyone happy. All they can really do is keep moving forward.
And move forward they did. Despite my problems with the finale, Volume 6 was good. I’ve always been sort of ambivalent about the show (I was drawn to it by my brother shortly before Monty’s death and have been watching it out of respect for him and the company as creative artists), and even if I thought some of RWBY’s critics were being too harsh (or seriously needed to find something better to do), I didn’t find Volumes 4 and 5 enjoyable enough that I felt like defending them. But guys, Volume 6 did something amazing: it made RWBY fun to watch again. Focused, consistent, and compelling storytelling plus gradually eased-in worldbuilding made for a story that I could follow along without having to juggle so many different plots. Improvements in the overall animation made things nice to look at and when fights happened they were always entertaining, never making me cringe or grimace, always making me think “Hell yeah, beat the shit out of them!” Just like I felt back in the old days of the show.
I feel as though what’s holding RWBY back at this point, however, is adhering to the production schedule that its old vision called for in making its current vision. And it honestly cannot keep doing that. RWBY is a show trying to reach grand heights, and its rushed production timelines and lost story arcs are keeping it tethered to the ground. Yet I can’t help but say: Volume 6 is RWBY at its finest so far. It can’t fix the problems that previous volumes have had, but it builds on the void those problems left to build a story that makes this show feel like something worth following once more.
So, I can safely say I’ll be following along when RWBY returns for Volume 7...hopefully later rather than sooner (again, it needs a better production schedule).

Enterprise Crowd - Part 1
Summary: These are the adventures of Reader, a Lieutenant Commander assigned the Enterprises IT engineering team. Her biggest flaw? Her temper.

A/N: My hand kinda slipped? I wanted to write something with that IT headcanon I had since I first wrote it down and here we go. There’s some hardcore and blatant reader inserting of me in there. I’m sorry. I hope you find some amusement in it anyways. If there’s any techno babble you don’T understand just skip it.
Warnings: Theres like a ton of curse words, several f-bombs and a very short temper
There was a corner of the Enterprise that only belonged to you and your coworkers - you were 10 in total, just enough to cover shifts and the occasional illness. You all donned the red shirt and were immensely proud of it - though affiliated to Engineering, you rarely saw your CEO and he rarely saw you. Usually, everything went just swimmingly, or swimmingly enough to just pass by shift after shift. You were the few IT guys left on an advanced ship like this. Just a few weeks ago a whole horde of new Ensigns had boarded ship and those weeks following were usually the busiest.
„Vance, this fuckwit actually paid for alleged Human-Deltan porn and got his PADD infected.“ you exclaimed at your coworker while shaking your head vigorously. „And, did he get worth his money?“ he shot back looking up from a PADD he was working on. „Nah, he probably dumped his first salary into this stuff, only to have this file getting blasted by Wintermute the second his PADD connected to the ships network.“ you giggled a bit as you removed the locks from the PADD, identified with name and grade („Lieutenant Officer“) to the ships ICE and had the corrupted files removed. „See, good as new for the nutjob to get it blasted again come next shore leave.“ Vance snorted and shook his head. He threw the PADD he’d been working on into a box already full of PADDs and turned around on his chair. He was a small guy - with whispy blonde hair and a stern look to him. People rarely got along with him, but that was because they never made the effort to actually get behind his cool demeanor. At least that’s what you told yourself. You threw the PADD onto the pile and groaned. „I swear, if I have to reset another Ensigns password or roomcode, I’m gonna throw myself out of a bloody airlock.“ Vance grunted - it was his version of affirmative laughter - and grabbed another PADD. „Mr. Scott probably won’t like it, if you name part of the ship after some weird 20th century pop culture stuff.“, he argued and lifted an eyebrow. „You talking about poor Wintermute?“ „For example“ Shrugging you grabbed another PADD of the „To-Do“ pile and plugged your diagnostics tool in. „If he thinks so, he can come down and tell me himself.“ „As if“, Vance cut the connection to the new PADD on his lap and just threw it on the growing pile of „Finished“ PADDs. You quirked an eyebrow at him. „Works fine, the owner just needs to turn it on properly.“ The both of you shared a look of shared disbelief before you continued working.
Mid-Beta turned into lunch break - a good time to share the latest gossip in engineering - and then into late Beta and finally into the last few minutes of your shift, eagerly awaited by plans to share a beer or two with that cute guy from the laboratories. „You forgot something“ Vance stated and glanced over the pile of finished PADDs. No catastrophes today, just regular work. It had been a good, quiet shift which had allowed you to actually get some work done. „I .. what?“ you furrowed your eyebrows and lifted your head from the report you were about to finish. „Ensign Yueh is going to hand out the PADDs we finished today in the first half of Gamma.“ „Yeah,“ a fiendish grin spread across his face as he threw you a communicator which was painted red and gold. You groaned. „You’re on call today, Babe.“ „Fuck that, Vance. When did I sign up for this?“ „Last week, when you convinced T’Sai to switch duty because you wanted to go out with that guy from communications.“ Groaning once more you grabbed the communicator and stuffed it into your pocket. Of course you’d forgotten about that little incident. „Have a nice evening, Y/N“ You muttered something not suitable for general audiences and called it a day.
Everything went according to your idea of a perfect evening until the communicator went off. It was of course just seconds after you had slipped into your PJs and of course Ensign Yueh was on the other side, babbling frantically about some incident in the monitoring system. „Bullshit“, you muttered as Ensign Yueh forwarded you the alert on your PADD, but in the moment you read it, you felt your blood leave your face. It was time to slip into your uniform again.
Not much more then 10 minutes later you stood in front of your Commanding Officers quarters and frantically mumbled to yourself. Knocking did not help and you couldn’t hear the Klaxon in his room going off either. He probably had muted the alarm, because your PADD still showed the Warp Core Alarm going off every 2 minutes. „Dammit“, you knocked at the door again. Had he left? Probably. Maybe he was monitoring the Warp Core manually. Mr. Scott was probably furious, hell, you’d definitely be furious in his place. In that moment you decided to plug your security code into his door and override its controls to enter the room. The door slid open and there was - nothing. Silence. The lights were shimmering, already dimming down. You noticed that the lights were behind the ships usual dimming cycle. „Hi?“ you whispered but no one answered. Determined to fix the blemish on your teams reputation you grabbed a chair and pulled it over to a wall, climbed up and opened up a panel. „Utter bullshit“ you ripped out a cable and plugged your diagnostics tool in, your fingers tapping furiously at your PADD, giving way to your irritation. „Why does shit like this has to happen…“ you continued grumbling about as you worked your way through the chaos that unfolded before you. „WHO the fuck did that?“ you ripped out another cable, when a soft, warm voice interrupted your constant stream of swear words: „Do ya get paid by curse words per minute, lass?“ „What?“ your head spinned around in shock. „Ya’re cursing like a sailor“, your commanding officer, Montgomery Scott, added and you were unsure wether he was joking or serious. Or how he got there in the first place. He looked surprisingly calm and somewhat interested in the situation unfolding before him. „Well, Sir, I’m on a ship. I thought cursing was part of the job.“ you quipped back. Some day that mouth of yours would get you killed. It was probably today. He had his arms folded in front of him and cocked his head just slightly, watching you and the entanglement of cables surrounding you. „On a 18th centuries whaling vessel, perhaps…“ now there was definitely humor in his voice, which made you feel at least a bit relieved. „Uhm…“ you murmured and began to stuff the cables back where they belonged to. „Some f- …idiot .. decided to override the warp cores frequency settings manually, which threw the monitoring services system off.“ „I know that idiot“, retorted the voice behind you, but the tone of it went right past your conscious mind. „Yeah?“, you started to collect your tools. „Sir, you can tell him that overriding settings this way will cause unexpected behavior ALL THE TIME.“ emphasizing the last three words you turned around and jumped off the chair. „That idiot was me.“ his eyes were hazel-blueish and at this very moment piercing through you. Funny how one remembered those details. „And a simple manual override shouldn’t interfere with our monitoring systems like that.“ he added.
„Oh, come on, Sir,“ you watched - or listened - with horror how your big mouth got the better of you and felt your temper flare within seconds. „Everything can interfere with a soft AI like our monitoring system. I’ll do exactly that, Sir.“ you stared at a point over his shoulder, your face now burning hot. That’s not how you had went from Cadet to Ensign to Lieutenant Officer on Starfleets most prestigious ship. Not at your age. But it was probably the reason you’d been assigned a team that had relatively scarce contact to other members of the crew. If any at all. He handed you your PADD with some sort of curious fury, as if up until this point you’d been part of a faceless mass - now sticking out like a sore thumb. „Sir, thank you, Mr. Scott, Sir.“ you answered and left with as much grace as you could muster.

this post used to be a link to the old canons page but i’m turning it into a text dump of the revised one for people on mobile [or who have bad wifi/computers that the fancy schmancy script on the canons page wouldn’t play well with.] theres a lot sorry not sorry. here we go.
Canon Info
 Much more is said about Annie in external sources than the game itself, here's copypastes of all I know of and go by.
From the 3rd DLC Character Voting page:
As popular figures in nationwide folktales, a children’s television adaptation of Annie and Sagan’s adventures was inevitable. The show’s success lies in its pair of live action hosts, who are as convincing as their cartoon counterparts. Though what the public learns about the real Annie might surprise them. Annie is a seasoned fighter who has been around for a long time, acquiring many skills and powers along the way. Her sword is forged from a meteorite and can channel the power of the stars in its sweeping cleaves. Her right eye bonds her to her Remote Parasite and partner, Sagan, who grants her powers of a galactic motif. While some of her abilities carry more of a sparkly magical girl motif, Annie tries to execute them with the same sternness.

-Annie is several-century-old. Her immortality was gained when her parents wished on the Skull Heart so that Annie would never have to experience the hardship of adulthood, thereby making her forever a child. -She has had many different weapons and abilities throughout her life. - Sagan, her remote parasite. keeps her right eye in his mouth. - She’s physically not able to swear due to her condition - She is familiar with Double due to her experience fighting Skullgirls - Annie has encountered a lot of Skullgirls and has killed a lot, but not the same a lot. She’s seen the cycle multiple times and seen how they become stronger each time and is looking for the underlying source now. - The Annie of the Stars show is very similar to the Super Mario Bros. Super Show with live action segments with cartoons and PSAs and commercials in between. - Sagan can talk. Somehow. - Annie hides her immortality by getting a new hairstyle every few years. The show tells the audience that they have simply changed the actress. Eliza also pulls a similar trick
and finally some other misc. scraps that weren't covered above:
-annie has some kind of "super" or "powered up" form, in which she seems to fuse with sagan. it can be seen on her
move concept sheet, in the end of robo-fortune's story mode, and as a very tiny feature on one of robo-fortune's merch posters, but to my knowlege it's never really been talked about.
-she's been depicted with an "incognito outfit", presumably for going out in public and not being recognized by fans.
-sagan is named after renowned astrophysicist carl sagan. this isnt really relevant to anything but it's not on the wiki so i figured i'd share :b
-and this random pic of annie in the past with a different look, plus gun and minus eyepatch, apparently official art from the "digital art compendium". i haven't seen the source for this one myself though, and count this one more as speculative canon since that ingame image up there with her eye uncovered doesn't show a scar or any kind of damage from this.
-another canon fact about annie is she is strong and brave and i love her.
Headcanon (Annie)
this is pretty disorganized bc i come up with and revise random shit on a fairly regular basis, but the very least it should be all here and up-to-date. [though on this text post version i may forget to keep it updated oops.
she can still only normally see from the one eye in her head [and likewise probably has terrible depth perception lmao], but she can “project” her vision into the one sagan has if need be, during which time both he and her main eye are blind.
even though sagan’s vision is his own and she doesn’t actively “see” through that eye most of the time, the stuff he sees still becomes part of her memory and she can recall it if need be, though it’s far less tangible and kind of a surreal experience trying to do so.
the space where her other eye was is now just...space. like empty starry void stuff. yes, TECHNICALLY, you could put stuff in it but why would you. sagan can feel when something interacts with it and it’s really just weird and uncomfortable for both of them.as sagan is the source of their powers, the strength of her abilities is slightly dependent on her distance from him. something like long sustained flight is really only capable if they’re touching, but she still has ample firepower and ability to zip around for a pretty good range otherwise.
Not interested in anime
absolutely hates being called her full name; hasn't gone by anything other than "Annie" for longer than anyone that should be alive today should know.
part of her curse of eternal youth is remembering everything up until the point it kicked in and she stopped aging [i.e. when she was Actually a kid] exactly as well as if she hadn’t aged.
from that point however, a lot of it is hazy as shit aside from more recent times [as you’d expect from someone who’s been around hundreds of years]. this one's gonna be angsty as shit when i address it and you can thank @sandstriker for that. fucker.
also hates being restrained. by the concept sheet and beo's story, her fighting style is very kinetic and relies heavily on mobility; take that away and you get one very uncomfortable and very angry starchild. [this one's 'cause of y'all with the handcuffs asks. this is part of why she's so agitated rn.]
what's in the pouch? whatever is alternatively convenient. is it snacks? is it a quick incognito disguise? is it her whole entire sword? who knows. i think it might be infinite hammerspace in there.
i haven't put much though into this side of her story yet, but i've decided part of the mythos of the "annie of the stars" character as a figure of legend is that she literally lives, among the stars.
if there's enough folktales about her to base an entire show off of, i'm willing to bet she used to be less elusive when she was just about fighting skullgirls before dedicating herself to the whole "looking for the underlying source" thing.
Headcanon (Sagan)
tl;dr: as far as things go here, he's essentially a cat and/or younger sibling.
Sagan's canon information and characterization is basically nonexistant, so i got to do pretty much whatever i wanted with him lmao.
simply put, he's a little gremlin of a partner, but he is genuinely good-natured and a happy-go-luckly little dude. mischevious, loves to get up to Shenanigans, go off and hide/disappear to fuck knows where for several hours, climb and sit on tall things[or failing that, annie's head], etc. @sawkinator has described him, regrettably accurately, as "the Token Disney Animal Sidekick". he has a lot of mannerisms like an animal, but is still very much a being of at least average human intelligence. he's also surprisingly indestructible. far from invincible of course, but in canon he's been shown to be quite stretchy and...possibly have minor shapeshifting capabilities?? he's pretty much immune to being squashed and feels very little [if any] pain from most things. really, as far as i can tell he's pretty much a weird sentient plushie. like, if it's not going to damage a plushie, it's not going to hurt him; examples being: getting knocked back really hard or falling a long way? not a problem. fire? problem.
Sagan tends to be somewhat nonverbal and generally only uses a few words or short phrase at a time when he does speak, which sounds something like the voice clip below. that being how it is, he can be kind of inscrutable and more than a bit jarring to most people--though at this point annie's been with him more than long enough to be completely desensitized to it and doesnt quite get why anyone would be perturbed. fortunately, with that familiarity also comes understanding, and she can easily "translate" and articulate more from his expressions. this understanding is a two-way street, and on its other side is sagan's sensitivity to her moods. annie's not particularly...communicative of her emotions, but sagan can always tell when she's having an off day or something's bothering her, and is far better than anyone at helping her feel better. all things said and quirky antics aside, he and annie are exceptionally close and fiercely protective of eachother the moment it comes to it. they don't make a big deal of showing it outwardly, but they know they've always got eachother's backs.
he's taken quite a liking to beowulf as well, and beo defintiely shamelessly enables sagan's shenanigans.
as i see it, annie may be the passion and power of their operation, but sagan is the heart and soul. beowulf is like....comic releif and emotional support. not entirely necessary, but certainly welcomed to have around. yeah. listen im a big sap i just want them all to be good friends ok. i love them.
also sagan does like and watch a lot of anime.
Blog Canon
miscellaneous happenings that either have continued relevance/significance, or y'all just won't let die. there's not a overarching plot to this thing at all, but geez we’ve kinda gathered some history here huh?
taught sagan to say fuck [and other swears, in her stead]. he used to have to do it on command but he's gotten really good at filling in for her.has a
stoat fursona that beo helped her make. she thinks it's neat/cute but has no real attachment to it.
attempted to sue the crystal gems for ripping off her entire shtick [it didn't go well]
beowulf also taught her how to dab.

the 70$ pile of high school musical merch. sagan and beo both wear the t-shirts sometimes. she hates it. don't let her attitude fool you though this is actually the best and most important ongoing joke in this whole damn thing.
the first handcuffs stint. they’re gone now but they had a good ~30-post run, and she did take to learning lockpicking because of it.
