Evie's One Piece OC Compendium

SO @eustasskidsfattits asked me to make a post about my One Piece OCs, so here it is! I wanted to make this way sooner, but then stuff happened and then I got to show one of my friends OPLA and 8 OCs turned to 9 (oopsies...). Also, the perfectionist in me would not shut up. Yes, this is technically the intro for the three newest ones, so buckle up!

I'm gonna list them in the order that I created them, simply because listing them in the order of their appearance in the story would be fairly impossible with how OPLA likes to introduce characters earlier on lol - These OCs also all exist in their own separate universes, by the way...

So yeah, long post incoming and, for any OPLA-onlies reading this post: Spoiler warning!!!

The Guardian: Aether S. Luna

The original One Piece OC and also the one who has gone through the most changes. I revamped her only recently!

Luna is convinced that she's the daughter of the moon goddess aka of Mother Moon herself, and there are some very odd things about her that make that very plausible. She looks like how you would imagine the daughter of the moon to look like, with very pale skin and very light blonde hair, she has magical powers that are charged by basking in the moonlight, she needs very little sleep as long as the moon is out, her strength is based on the moon cycle... Oh, also: Wings. Large, white wings, that don't fit in with any other humanoid creature in the world. So, nobody really has any solid evidence against it either. Well... Nobody who hasn't been to Egghead Island.

She's introduced into the story at Long Ring Long Land (I actually have two fics for that) as a part of Foxy's crew because he won her in a Davy Back Fight. Before that, she was sort of aimlessly travelling the seas with various crews, just trying to find a place to belong. Throughout the Davy Back Fight, Luna ends up befriending the Straw Hats and Luffy, being Luffy, of course won't pass up the opportunity to have someone as weird as her on their crew, so she joins!

Sanji is, of course, very enamoured with this literal goddess. Even more so than usual. Luckily for him, his charm seems to be working on Luna too. She essentially goes from "Oh, you're adorable. You're funny." to "Oh. Oh no. That's the love of my life, isn't it?", at the very latest when she sees Sanji after he absolutely decimates the people on the Sea Train.

I can't really talk too much about her because a lot of my ideas for her are very visual, but I guess I could give some more little facts? First of all, Luna is 18 and her blood group is S. You can take a look at my animanga character sketches for her here and here if you want! Her wings haven't grown to their full size yet pre-timeskip, and she molts like a bird as she grows, so whenever that happens, she's essentially grounded and chronically exhausted. And that happens around the time of Sabaody. Perfect timing, right? Also, she has to preen her wings, especially after battles, and her crewmates keep around her feathers either for practical or sentimental reasons. And in case you were wondering, of course she heads to Whole Cake Island to go after her boyfriend. Big Mom takes an interest in her, Judge wants to steal her lineage factor, it's a very fun time for everyone involved.

The Sweet Tooth: Charlotte Inari

Ah yes, sweet little Inari. Inari is Pudding's twin sister, she's also a member of the Three-Eyed Tribe and she's named after inari-zushi (if you were wondering how she fits into the Charlotte Family naming scheme). She ate the Kami Kami no Mi, Model: Shikigami, which has a very complicated way to how it works, but, essentially, it binds her to a master whose orders she has to follow and, in turn, gets special abilities from based on her master's. That master is the person who last saved her life. The problem with that situation is that she got the devil fruit when she was still very young and travelling at sea with one of her siblings, and a sea battle ensued where chaos happened and she got herself kidnapped. So, she ends up being passed around from master to master for years until finally ending up with Enel. That is, until Luffy defeats him, and she joins the Straw Hats.

Inari, being that she spent her early formative years on Totto Land, has some very interesting ideas of what's considered normal for animals, plant life, people... for everything, really. She fights with two war fans (as well as her devil fruit, of course) and knows how to play the shamisen, both of which she picked up while travelling with a crew of Wano ancestry for a while. Also, she naturally has a huge sweet tooth and loves to make sweets too. It runs in her genes.

Inari's goal while travelling with the Straw Hats at first is to get back home. She's just a kid, she wants to go home, at least to let her family know that she's okay. And her family and her friends will totally get along, right??? That's also why she doesn't fully consider herself part of the Straw Hats for the longest time. She's a member of the Big Mom Pirates, simply by birth right. However, this all gets a bit thrown on its head with the Timeskip and everything after that. Because, during the timeskip, Kuma sends her to Totto Land, and she officially joins the Big Mom Pirates. So, she has everything she has ever wanted, right? Well... She still ends up coming back. She loves her friends too much not to go back to them. And then Luffy ends up starting a war with Big Mom, which is... not ideal? Whole Cake Island is especially fun. And Wano? Oh boy!

Also... remember the special ability of the Three-Eyed Tribe? Yeah. Inari awakens her third eye when she hears the Drums of Liberation, but nobody notices and she doesn't tell anybody until the battle is long over, and even then she only tells Sanji and Robin.

The Tailor: Akaito Coraline

My dear, sweet Cora... We're entering the live action era now! Aka when everything started to escalate and I started drowning in OCs. I freaking love the live action, man... Maybe a little too much.

Anyways, Cora! Cora is the last living member of the Akaito Clan, a tailoring family from the North Blue of world-class fame who was eradicated by Germa 66 when they didn't want to work for their evil plans. Their main identifier is a sewing needle pierced through the left ear, and they can tell a person's measurements just by looking at them. Of course, there are many imposters around because Akaito-made clothes sell for a fortune, but they usually fail at these criteria. Cora was only a baby when the attack from Germa happened, so she doesn't remember anything from that day or about her family, except for her mother, who was selected as the sole adult survivor of the massacre, because she had Cora, and Judge had plans for Cora. Little did Judge know that her mother also had plans for Cora, and that she had given the baby the Akaito Clan's most prized possession: The Sew Sew Fruit (Chiku Chiku no Mi), which gives its user mastery over the entire clothesmaking process and its tools and materials.

I don't want to get too much into Cora's backstory here, but she befriended Sanji and thought that he had died, and then her mother died, she helped create and designed the Raid Suits and then she ran away with the help of Reiju at 16 years old. Afterwards, she rose to considerable fame as a tailor in the East Blue, until finally stumbling across Sanji at Baratie, the same day that the Straw Hats also show up there. Shenanigans ensue.

I think, if I were going to describe Cora's personality in only three aspects, it's trauma, kindness, and a huge double crush that she doesn't like to admit. Because not only is she wholly unprepared for Sanji being not only alive but also a pretty and charming young man, there's also a swordsman who she has to stitch back together after a big fight and who she ends up falling head over heels for. The two boys constantly bickering doesn't help much either, and they also bicker over her, constantly trying to out-boyfriend each other. In case you were wondering whose side Cora usually takes in these fights, the answer is: She joins in on the side of entertainment. Whichever side would yield the funnier result. She just thinks their fights are way too funny and stupid. Also, she's constantly touch-starved and also scared of touch. And sleep-deprived. She gets better in the "scared of touch" category over the course of her journey with the Straw Hats, so... Sleepy cuddles. So many sleepy cuddles. If Zoro's taking a nap, she's taking a nap too, no buts. And Sanji eventually ends up with his arm around her waist 90% of the time. His personal space is also her personal space.

So, uh, fighting style! She uses a rapier and keeps explaining to people that, no, she's not a swordsman, she's a fencer. There's a difference. Also, she uses strings a lot, and plagiarizes Doffy's travelling method after Dressrosa. The thing with strings and dyes and whatnot is a whole new can of worms that I won't get into right now but it's super cool.

One more fun fact: Cora is short. She's tiny. And she wears heels to compensate, which Zoro hates because they're not practical at all. Her entire fashion sense gives him minor aggressions, partially because a lot of her clothes are a lot more fashion than function, partially because she looks too damn gorgeous in them and he's constantly reminded of his embarrassing crush and has gotten so distracted by her that he has walked into tables and doorframes multiple times. Sanji, on the other hand, fully supports her fashion choices. Maybe show a little more skin next time..? Pretty please? I have concept art for her and one of the more distracting outfits :)

The Scout: "Desert Fox" Felicity

The baby of the crew. Yeah, she's younger than Chopper. Inari is already young, being 14, but Lily? Lily is twelve. Absolute baby. How did she end up with the Straw Hats? Blame it on Buggy kidnapping her and then kidnapping the Straw Hats on top, letting them bust her out with them. Nami and Zoro pretty much become her caretakers on the spot, Nami consciously and Zoro... well... Turns out he has a bit of a soft spot for little scared kids with fox ears. They bring her back home to her "sister" Kaya at Syrup Village, but then she almost gets murdered by a killer butler, and Kaya asks them to take Lily with them, so... Well, she's with them now! Only about a few days later though, one of her caretakers gets himself almost killed and the other decides to abandon the crew. Good thing that Sanji has pretty much decided to adopt her, because otherwise she'd be crying her eyes out.

Lily is actually half mink! That's where she got her fennec fox features and some of her behavioural patterns (i.e. cuddliness, switching between napping and getting the zoomies...) from. But her behaviour could just as well be caused by her devil fruit, because she ate the Jōi Jōi no Mi, which gives her emotions magical properties. Which ones? No one knows! You'll find out when it happens. Pretty much the only really predictable effect back when Lily joins the crew is that she turns back into a nonverbal five-year-old when she gets too scared. She also has a pretty good success rate of turning into a more anthropomorphic fox creature when getting into the spirit for a battle. She's a mink after all, and minks are born fighters! And in case you're wondering: Yes, she does have electro! And sharp teeth. You do not want to make her upset. Best case scenario is that she bites you, worst case is either some magical shenanigans or she starts crying and her crewmates come to kick your ass.

I haven't developed her too much beyond the first season of OPLA, but I just know that she has to go absolutely feral at Alabasta, because that's a fennec fox's natural habitat and her epithet is "Desert Fox", so it only makes sense for her to get it at Alabasta. Also, it would be peak funny for Crocodile to complain to the Marines about a literal child messing up his plans, and peak funny is also peak One Piece, so you best believe I'll do it. Also, her being this young means I get to watch her grow up over the timeskip. I imagine she maybe gets sent to Zou and starts to really master her electro and devil fruit attacks? Something along the lines of "I'm all grown up now! I have my powers under control!" and then immediately turning back into a kindergartener in the face of danger would probably be her running gag post-TS. Also, I'm so soft for her relationship with Sanji. I could go on for ages about Whole Cake Island, but I'll leave it at that for now. This post is already getting long enough...

The Matron: Dracule Aurelia

Oh boy, you're not ready for her. She's the daughter of Rayleigh and Shakky. Trans queen (thanks, Iva). Raised as a Kuja, got love sickness just like her mother and fell for a red-headed idiot first, then for a certain swordsman. Ended up marrying the swordsman in the most dramatic way possible. Also maybe the second most beautiful woman in the world, after Boa Hancock of course.

Aurelia is essentially the fusion of a mafia boss, a mob wife, and an Ancient Roman patron. She has unbelievable amounts of money and an invisible net of connections that makes her almost untouchable. She's allied with Emperors, Warlords, kings and queens... Her main deal is providing smaller, more inexperienced pirate crews with her protection and support and getting their services in return, for example as soliders, for transportation... Whatever she needs at that moment. She can be as kind as she can be cruel, and people are generally both in awe and scared of her. Her epithet is "Black Widow" both because of her spider net of connections and because all of her lovers keep mysteriously dying as if through some sort of curse. Mihawk is the only one who has been able to resist that curse. Shanks doesn't count because Aurelia claims she never truly loved him.

One of the places under her protection is Baratie, and so she gets caught up in the Straw Hats' shenanigans. First, Nami asks her for help, then she returns to Arlong ransacking the place and essentially kidnapping Nami, then she finds out that Zoro was almost killed by her husband... Also, Sanji is the closest thing to a son that she has, so Sanji joining the Straw Hats is pretty much the final nail in the coffin to her deciding on her own terms that she's going to protect those kids to the best of her ability. You can kind of imagine her as the rich aunt, but a lot more deadly. Generally, she spends a majority in the story picking up her den den mushi and going "Luffy, what did you do this time?" The boy pretty much becomes her most effective portégé when it comes to expanding her territory, because he keeps punching tyrants and asking her to put the newly freed kingdoms under her protection. She also kicks ass at Marineford, of course, helps protect the Sunny during the timeskip, and becomes decorously unhinged when Whole Cake Island comes around because of her own personal history with Big Mom and "That's my son!" and "Luffy, you are not going to kill an Emperor." - so yeah, she pretty much has to follow the Straw Hats to Wano too, lest they get themselves kicked. She's both the queen of the literal universe and the exhausted mother of a crew of literal toddlers. Or. Well. Children and one supercharged toddler who will not stop causing chaos.

Her entire backstory is so freaking great. Growing up as a Kuja, running away from home because she's mad at her mother for leaving the Kuja tribe, her very first murder of a lover who also happened to be a nobleman, her bond with Iva and speedy hormone therapy, whatever the hell was going on between her and Shanks, her relationship with Mihawk, the whole situation with Big Mom and her rules for alliances, Mihawk literally fighting for her hand in marriage, her meeting Sanji and essentially adopting him... There's a lot going on. Wish I could write it one day.

The Mechanic: Lux Jirou

Lynx boi! Kuro tricked him into thinking he had Amber Lead Snydrome but it's actually just vitiligo. Used to be a member of the Black Cat Pirates (posing as the mansion's security guard) but liked Kaya a little too much and figured out Kuro was lying, so he teamed up with the Straw Hats to take him down. Also has the worst crush on Zoro and Zoro has the worst crushback, but they're both too stupid to figure it out. He goes by Jirou while with the Black Cat Pirates but starts going only by his last name Lux once he starts rebelling. Ends up joining the Heart Pirates and working as a mechanic on the Polar Tang.

Once again, so many of my ideas for him are more visual because... big kitty! Huge freaking paws! Cuddly cat naps! Involuntary purring because he has a crush and he's a cat and... Yeah. Also, he's absolutely thriving at Punk Hazard. Lots of snow? No problem! Lynx have built-in snow shoes. Also, his devil fruit (Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Lynx), much like the dinosaur SMILEs of the Beasts Pirates, works with Zoan logic. "Lynxes can walk on snow, so they can also walk on water, right? Since water is just frozen snow. And then maybe they can walk on air too if they train hard enough? Because of the humidity?"

The Siren: Kanyalani

Also known as Kan-chan, because Luffy is not pronouncing her full name. She's a betta fish mermaid and former slave and joined the Sun Pirates after being liberated. She has a romance with Jinbe which eventually turns into a polycule with the addition of Robin and Franky when they both join the Straw Hats. Kan-chan fights with chakrams and uses Merman Combat as well as some Fishman Karate.

Now for some mermaid characteristics: Since she's a betta fish mermaid, she shares betta fish characteristics. This means that she loves her color when she's unhappy and becomes more vibrant when she is happy. She also has a unique ability. Whereas all mermaids have beautiful voices, Kan-chan's singing can lull anyone to sleep, even in the midst of battle. Also, she's over thirty, so her tail is split, but she has trouble walking, so she practically never does it. She prefers using Bubbly Corals to navigate and claims that her very frilly fin makes for bad legs anyways.

The Archer: Shimotsuki Kaede

A Kuina look alike from Ebisu Town who nearly gives Zoro a heart attack when he sees her with her mask off for the first time. The concept for this OC basically came to me in the concept of many What Ifs. What if Kuina was still alive? What if Kuina was even more gender? What if there was a flying squirrel? What if someone pulled a Robin Hood on Orochi?

So, here's Kaede. Regular Ebisu Town citizen by day, dying and mending kimonos, stealing food and shooting arrows at people by night. As Ebisu Town gets the leftovers from the Flower Capital, this also includes the half-eaten SMILEs, and Kaede had the one-in-a-million luck of one of the SMILEs, finicky things that they are, still having traces of the power it once gave. And so, she got the power of the flying squirrel SMILE, making her the "devil fruit twin" of Bao Huang. She practices kyūdō in secret and almost runs an arrow through Orochi's head after Yasuie's execution. She would've hit the bastard too if someone hadn't hit her bow and made her miss.

The Soldier: Roronoa Sonoko

Ah yes, the reason why this post took me so long... She just appeared the moment I saw the scene in OPLA where Morgan tries to get Zoro to join the Marines. Because my brain went: Y'know, what if he actually had? So, I bring to you: Zoro's sister. No, not biological sister. They're siblings the way the ASL brothers are siblings. By exchanging sake cups. They got in trouble for stealing the sake and the cups but it was all worth it. What makes the situation even funnier is that Sonoko keeps on telling people that they're not biological siblings but nobody believes her because she's pretty much Zoro's spitting image. And it's her fault, too! Because she chooses to wear those earrings (more or less, but that's a bit of a longer story) and she chooses to dye her hair green! Yes, among the thousands of people with naturally funky hair colors, Kaede is pretty much the only one who actually dyes her hair.

So yeah, she's a Marine! Freshly promoted to Ensign when Koby and Helmeppo join and Garp's protégé. Her sword training comes from Bogard but she uses Two-Sword Style, so it's more her figuring out techniques and Bogard putting up with them. That is until Garp calls on Mihawk to go catch Luffy. Hawk Eyes comes to the ship to say that he decided not to do just that and Garp, as a payment for not reporting this to the World Government, asks Mihawk to take Sonoko on as a student. Mihawk, being Mihawk, is about to remind Garp that he does whatever he wants and doesn't need a deal like that. But then he sees the spitting image of Zoro in front of him and hears the same last name - and he changes his mind. Maybe it's worth a shot?

Following that, I don't have that many ideas except that Sonoko gets a bunch of promotions, only to go AWOL to warn Mihawk of the dismantling of the Warlords system during the Reverie because, at this point, she's far more loyal to him than to the Government or the Marines. She then completely deserts and dashes to Wano to help her brother and his crew defeat Kaido. In the process of the Raid on Onigashima (possibly while protecting either Hiyori or Zoro), she loses an arm and one of her swords and is just... overcome with guilt and shame. So much so that she can't bring herself to return to Mihawk after this incredible failure. Franky does replace her arm with a robotic one and everyone is super nice and supportive to her, the samurai step in and try to reason with her, but she's completely blinded by shame and anxiety. She keeps training, of course, she keepy going, but she just doesn't see herself as worthy anymore of being the student of the World's Greatest Swordsman. But then Mihawk himself shows up at Wano, looking specifically for her and tells her that she isn't a failure, that he's proud of her for her sacrifice for her cause and, most importantly of all, because she kept going. So, all is well and she joins the Cross Guild. Maybe befriends Cabaji, I dunno.

Friendly Advice

More Lux content? More Lux content. Him and Zoro have my brain in their clutches and they will not let go. This time, we're getting the nice bonus of Nami being... well, Nami. You'll see!

Zoro had to admit it – taking a bath had been nice. It had been a while since he had felt this relaxed. He dried himself off – had he ever used a towel this soft? – and, for once, took extra care in brushing his hair. Not that it did anything. And not that he did it for anyone. Especially not for Jirou, who was still standing in front of the bathroom door, waiting for him to come out. Quickly, Zoro threw on the bathrobe and slippers prepared for him, slung his swords over his shoulder, then went to unlock the door. Just when he was about to, he hesitated, gazing back at the mirror once again.

Finally, he opened the door, only to see Jirou clutching at his chest. The moment he noticed Zoro was out, Jirou straightened himself under slightly laboured breathing.

“You okay?” Zoro asked.

“Yeah,” Jirou croaked. “I’m fine.”

“Kaya said you needed to rest. Are you sick?”

“I’m getting better.” Then, Jirou chuckled. “Are you worried about me?”

“No,” Zoro lied, “I just don’t wanna be infected.”

“Well, you’re in luck. It’s not contagious.” Jirou stretched the ache out of his bones, then nodded towards the door of Zoro’s guest suite. “Come on, let’s get you something to wear.”

Zoro looked him up and down one more time, then started walking in the indicated direction. What a weirdo, he thought. After turning maybe two or three corners, indicated by Jirou only by a simple “left” or “right” (and a tug on Zoro’s robe when he had told him the wrong direction – he definitely had, otherwise Zoro wouldn’t have turned the wrong way), the two of them reached a very large dressing room, walls and ceiling covered in clothes racks and hangers, multicolored lighting all across the room. Luffy was sitting on a stool in the middle of the room, and immediately spotted his friend when he entered.

“Hey, Zoro! Jirou! What ’cha gonna wear?”

“Something black,” Zoro murmured, still trying to process the sheer amount of clothes and colors in this room.

“How edgy,” Nami remarked from behind the dressing screen.

“Sorry,” Jirou shrugged, leaning against the doorframe, “I gotta wear my uniform. So, I’m gonna be just as edgy.”

He had unbuttoned his jacket and loosened his shirt collar a little. Zoro took his sword belt that was slung over his shoulder and leaned the weapons against an armchair before flopping down into the very same seat. At the same time, Nami stepped out from behind the screen in a black dress and a black jacket with a sparkly floral pattern.

“How’s this?”

“Still Nami,” Luffy said.

“I said I’m wearing black,” Zoro complained.

“I hate you guys,” Nami scoffed.

“The jacket’s a little baggy on you,” Jirou threw in, just before she was about to head back behind the screen. “And the sparkles won’t look good under the chandeliers in the foyer. We tried something like that on my old uniform and it didn’t work.”

“You had sparkles on your uniform?” Zoro questioned.

“Only for a few days. Then we went back to just black.”

“I feel kinda bad for Kaya,” Luffy remarked out of the blue. “All this stuff… all this space… it’s gotta make a person feel… lonely.”

“Rich people don’t have the same emotions we do,” Nami explained as she was flicking through the clothes along one of the walls. “This stuff doesn’t make her feel lonely, it makes her feel important.”

Jirou chuckled. He walked over to join Nami, putting his hands in his pockets. “Y’know, I used to think that too. But Kaya’s just a girl. She’s not one of those rich folks you know about. All of the bling in this house? Her parents’ taste. Most of the rooms in this house she doesn’t even go to. Especially the East Wing, but that’s another story.” He grinned. “Back when she was younger, we’d play tag along the halls to make the house seem smaller whenever Klahadore wasn’t home. Of course, we can’t do that anymore, but… it was fun.”

“See?” Luffy called out. “Usopp likes her, Jirou likes her… I’m sure we can work out a way to get that ship.”

“No way,” Nami mumbled. “Rich people don’t stay rich by giving things away.”

“Which one do you want?” Jirou asked.

“The one with the sheep’s figurehead,” Luffy beamed. “It spoke to me!”

To this, Jirou laughed. “Well, aren’t you a special one... I know that ship. Caravel, white railing, grinning ram as a figurehead. I think Kaya would let you have it, but you’d have to get past Merry and Klahadore first.”

“Who?”

“Merry. He manages the family’s finances.”

“What does the butler have to do with all of this?” Zoro grumbled.

“Well,” Jirou sighed, “he likes to give little nudges to Kaya. Sort of like a substitute parent. But he’s my boss, so I can’t say anything about it.”

“He’s not here.”

“Yeah, say it!” Luffy encouraged Jirou.

“Sketchy,” Jirou then said. “That’s all I’ve got to say about that. Sketchy fellow. I don’t trust him. But he pays me, so who am I to complain? – Listen, if you want that ship, I’ll put in a good word for you, I promise.”

“As if that’s going to work,” Nami chuckled.

“Wanna bet?” Luffy asked.

At the prospect of gaining money, Nami smirked. “What are the terms?”

“I bet I can convince Kaya to give us that ship.”

“And when you can’t?”

“We go with your plan.”

Before Luffy could say anything more, Nami covered his mouth. But too late. Jirou made a smug noise of suspicion.

“Well, well, well, what do I hear…? Watch out. Don’t try anything or I’m holding your swordsman hostage.”

“As if you could do that,” Zoro scoffed.

Jirou grinned, strolling over to Zoro to stand between his legs, towering over him slouching in his seat. “Try me.”

“I bet you would like that, wouldn’t you?” Nami teased.

Immediately, Jirou went bright red and whirled around, looking back at Nami.

“What’s that supposed to mean?!” he called out, pointing at her in accusation and walking up to her until his finger almost touched her nose.

“Nothing,” she chirped, then threw a metallic, orange-colored shirt at Zoro.

“Go behind your fucking sheet again before I get mad at you.”

But Nami just smirked. “Your temper is almost as bad as Zoro’s. Help me pick a dress then.”

With an exasperated sigh, Jirou picked a dress off one of the racks and tossed it at her before sticking his hands in his pockets yet again, practically fuming. But then his eyes fell on Zoro, and his brain stopped working. The swordsman had thrown off his robe and was putting on the shirt Nami had given him, his muscles on full display.

“Hey, quit staring.”

“Then don’t change in front of me, you freak!”

The Evil Eye

or: Zoro crushing on Lux Jirou far too hard and being a mosshead about it

Now that I've written fic for all of my OCs except one, I figured it was high time for Lux to get a fic for himself too! This is set during the garden scene in OPLA episode 3 and tells of the first meeting between two dumbasses. This is Zoro's perspective, but I might write Lux's in the future.

Also, quick note: Lux is still referred to as Jirou here because this is before he broke away from Kuro.

Suddenly, the man on the other side of the pond threw his knife at Usopp, lodging it right between the legs of the “VIP guest”.

“The hell are you doin’ here, Usopp?” he asked in a hoarse voice.

“Buchi, buddy,” Usopp said quickly, somehow managing to sound both smug and anxious at the same time, “uh, Kaya’s expecting me.”

In his mind, Zoro repeated his statement from before: This guy’s full of shit.

Armed with a mop, the blue-haired woman – maybe she was a maid or something? – came towards the pond as well.

“Another one of your lies,” Buchi growled and grabbed Usopp by his vest.

He easily lifted him off the lily pad, holding him in the air with just as little effort.

“You ain’t welcome here and you know it.”

“I know nothing of the sort,” Usopp disagreed. “I’m here to give Kaya an extra-special gift!”

Just when Zoro wondered if he was going to have to save the idiot from getting himself beaten up, a female voice called Usopp’s name. It was a young woman with pale skin and light blonde hair, struggling to walk down the stairs towards the pond as she held on to her butler’s arm. Immediately, the maid respectfully straightened her posture and Buchi put Usopp down, but he didn’t let him go.

“What a wonderful surprise!” the young woman gasped.

With a smug smile, Usopp shook off Buchi’s hands and turned towards her.

“Kaya! Happy birthday.”

“You remembered.”

“Of course I did.”

That was when the butler lightly cleared his throat. Judging from his expression, he wasn’t even half as thrilled as Kaya to see Usopp there.

“Usopp,” he said in a voice one might use to gently scold a child. “We’ve had this discussion. You mustn’t show up unannounced.”

“Nonsense, Klahadore,” Kaya disagreed in her soft-spoken tone before turning back to Usopp. “Have you come to tell me another story? I do love hearing about your adventures.”

“I’ll do you one better,” Usopp declared. “I brought some of my crew!” he said, gesturing back at where Zoro and the others stood.

“Is he talking about us?” Luffy asked in confusion.

Of course he was, Zoro thought, and of course he was going to keep bragging and lying the whole time. At this point, Zoro just wanted to talk to Kaya about the damn caravel – no, he wanted Nami to talk to Kaya about the damn caravel because he sure as hell wasn’t going to do it – and then he wanted to leave.

“It’s so nice to meet you,” Kaya said. “You all must stay for dinner.”

Oh no. Well, at least that meant free food. Maybe free booze, too.

“Miss Kaya,” Klahadore cut in, “it is a bit last minute. I’m afraid the kitchen hasn’t prepared for any extra guests.”

“Please, Klahadore… It’s my birthday. Can’t be too much trouble, can it?”

According to the looks on the staff’s faces, it definitely could.

“Of course, Miss Kaya,” Klahadore said. “Anything for you.”

“All right!” Luffy called out. “When do we eat?”

Of course, that was all he could think about…

“You don’t,” Klahadore stated. “Not like this. For now, you’re not going anywhere. – Sham!” he called the maid. “Where is Jirou? He should have seen these intruders coming from a mile away.”

“I gave him the day off,” Kaya quickly cut in. “You know he needs to rest and… there haven’t been any attacks on this house in years.”

“Just because I have the day off that doesn’t mean I’ll let a man with three swords just waltz right in.”

Zoro suddenly felt his heart stop and his face turned hot. Stepping out from behind a hedge was a young man with slightly messy hair that was neither blonde nor brown and white splotches across his skin. Sitting above a white shirt was a black leather holster, keeping a black-gripped revolver strapped to his body. Somehow, Zoro’s brain seemed to have completely stopped working, and he couldn’t take his eyes off the man. At least his heart was beating again, but it was racing in his chest. Jirou swung a black jacket over his shirt, covering part of the holster. It helped at least a little bit, but Zoro’s mind was still somewhere in a far-off place.

“Your weapons,” Jirou demanded with an outstretched hand, finally knocking Zoro out of his stupor. “Come on, don’t make me search you.”

“I don’t have any,” Luffy shrugged.

Then, Usopp came up to Jirou and placed something in his hand, bright green and looking more like a toy than anything. A slingshot.

“Oh bother,” Jirou scoffed with a slight smile, a smile that sent another shiver down Zoro’s spine. Jirou knocked Usopp against the chest with his slingshot, making him take it back. “Real weapons, Usopp, not this nonsense. You won’t hurt anyone with this.”

Nami sighed heavily, then handed Jirou her staff. Now, Jirou turned fully to Zoro, his hand only directed at him, his eyes feeling like they were piercing Zoro’s heart.

“Your swords, sir.”

“I won’t give them to you,” Zoro declared, his voice hoarse, his mouth having gone dry.

“Then I’ll take them,” Jirou responded.

Really, he reached out for Zoro’s belt without as much as hesitation. Somehow, Zoro was still partially stunned and his reflexes kicked in a little later than he had intended. Still, he managed to grab Jirou’s wrist when he was only mere centimeters away from his goal, his fingers already grazing the Wado Ichimonji’s hilt. But then, Jirou managed to twist his hand and break free, catching Zoro by surprise and now holding him by the wrist. Shockingly enough, he was able to match Zoro in strength! Once again, the shivers were back, and Zoro felt like his legs might just give out underneath him. What was this guy doing to him?!

“Jirou, don’t!” Kaya called, breaking the tension in the air. “He’s on Usopp’s crew, he’s not dangerous.”

“That’s the devil talking, Miss Kaya,” Jirou said, not breaking eye contact with Zoro for even a moment. “I think I know this man and, believe me, he is dangerous. – Listen, ronin,” Jirou hissed, clearly addressing Zoro now, “you either hand me those swords or you leave.”

“Can’t you find another alternative?” Kaya asked. “Please? As a birthday gift?”

With a sigh, Jirou let Zoro’s wrist go and took a step back. Immediately, the air around Zoro seemed a little colder to him, even more so when Jirou stopped looking at him as well.

“There is one,” he told Kaya. “If I can’t take his swords, I’ll have to watch them—” he finally turned back to Zoro “— which means I’ll have to watch the man. You won’t get even a second of privacy, understood? Now, do you still want to be stubborn or will you finally give in?”

Zoro’s mind was running hot, as was his entire body, yet the shivers across his spine kept coming back just the same. It took him too long to process the situation before he said:

“Fine. Watch me then.”

“Excellent,” Klahadore said in Jirou’s place. “Jirou, if you’ll be watching the man either way, would you kindly show Usopp and his friends to the guest suites? – You will bathe and change before dinner.”

“A bath does sound nice,” Nami said with a sly smile, elbowing Zoro – which hurt more than it should have since he was, once again, caught off guard – and nodding towards Jirou, her smile turning into a grin in the process.

Then, she followed Jirou’s gesture towards the mansion, where Luffy had already eagerly walked off to. Usopp followed next – though not after sticking his tongue out at Buchi— But Zoro was somehow stuck in place. It was only when Jirou grabbed him by the arm and almost shoved him forwards that he moved. The spot where Jirou had touched him felt like it was on fire. What was going on? And what scheme had Nami come up with now? Zoro hoped he wouldn’t have to find out. But with Jirou walking behind him, both of them in silence, for the first time, it felt truly, anxiety-inducingly awkward, making Zoro worry even more that the man had the evil eye. No, that was bullshit. Without thinking, he said the first thing that came to mind, which was:

“You gonna watch me shower too, you creep?”

Jirou let out something that sounded almost like a squeak. “No!” he scoffed in a high-pitched tone before taking a deep breath and growling: “What makes you think I’d wanna see that?!”

Zoro failed to scoff back, all that came out being a small, displeased hum. Why did that answer disappoint him?

I don't have a reference sheet / dress-up doll for Lux yet, and I currently don't have the energy to make one, so this is as much of a drawing as you're gonna get, I'm sorry ^^"

My boy Lux is not going swimming. He is a cat and a devil fruit user, he's going nowhere near the water. So, I tried to think of what Lux would wear to a beach day instead!

I'm thinking your typical pirate shirt. Loose and breezy, mostly unbuttoned, and with lots of necklaces. Generally, as he continues being a pirate, I can see him wearing lots of jewelry, and a beach day is perfect for showing it off! It's largely handmade, too! A little hobby to pass the time. Think beads, seashells, feathers... Whatever trinkets he can find. Also, he's wearing no shoes, because why would he? To get sand in them? No way!

Lux probably spends most of the day collecting seashells and sleeping in the shade somewhere. His crewmates (and/or the Straw Hats, depending on whether they’re there or not) may bury him in sand and he spends the next few hours trying to get it out of his fur...

Soft

Once again, I bring you more Lux content. Today's blurb is a bit more on the shorter side, but I just needed to get this cute fluff (in this case pretty literally) out of my system. Also, a little more info on Lux's devil fruit!

Luffy grinned widely, Kuro growing more and more disheveled. He was panting in frustration and exhaustion, trying and struggling to free his wrists from Luffy’s grip, cut the boy up with what was left of his claws. But there was no escaping him.

“Lux,” Luffy said with a smirk, “get him.”

Lux chuckled deeply. In one fluid motion, he shifted again, but instead of growing smaller into his cat form, he grew bigger, more muscular, with tufted ears topping his head. Looking like some creature that could only be described as a were-lynx, with large, clawed hands, almost looking more like paws, and muscular arms and legs, he grabbed Kuro by the torso and tore him from Luffy’s grip. In a show of pure strength, he spun his former captain around, then hurled him out of the window, shattering both the glass and the security blinds in the process, sending the pirate flying far away.

With one more growl, Lux shrunk again, now back to his shirt-and-holster-wearing self, shaking his head and limbs. After a second of silence, Usopp whooped in awe and celebration.

“Dude, that was awesome!”

“Eh,” Lux shrugged, walking over to Usopp, Kaya and Nami sitting on the ground behind the desk. “I’m just doing my job.”

He flopped onto the ground, thereby shifting into his lynx form. Immediately, Kaya clung on to him like a teddy bear, trying to keep her body from shaking.

“I was so scared,” she whispered, running her hands through his fur.

In response, Lux purred softly, snuggling against her. Mesmerized, Nami reached out her hand towards him. That was until he opened one eye, staring at her.

“I’m sorry,” she stammered, “you just look really soft.”

“That’s because he is,” Kaya said with a smile, thankfully looking a little calmer. She unwrapped her arms from around Lux, resorting to just petting his head, giving Nami more space to test that statement for herself.

“Can I?” Nami asked, still a little weirded out by the situation. Was Lux a human or a cat? For a human he was oddly okay with being petted, and for a cat he was oddly human.

Lux purred in response and nodded, something that Nami took as a yes. So, she ran her fingers across his fur, immediately suppressing a gasp. It was even softer than she imagined! If this was his summer coat, what was his winter coat supposed to be like? Did he even get a winter coat? He had to get a winter coat, right? For as weird as the situation was, when would she ever get the chance to pet a lynx again, a supposedly feral animal?

Suddenly, Lux struck something with his paw – something that turned out to be Luffy’s outstretched rubbery hand, which now rebounded and slapped him in the face.

“Serves you right, you idiot,” Nami laughed. “You’ve gotta ask!”

“Come on, don’t hit me!” Luffy whined. “That’s not fair.”

“Where’s Zoro?” Usopp asked.

And with that, the tranquil moment was destroyed. Lux grumbled quietly – well, as much as lynxes could grumble – and got up from the ground, stretching his limbs just like a housecat. Then, he started trotting towards the door, lightly sniffing the air as he did. Nami smirked. Less than a day, and he already had Zoro’s scent memorized…

Out of the Well

More Lux and Zoro? More Lux and Zoro.

Zoro panted heavily, eyes fleeting between trying to find a new crevice to cling on to and gazing up into the moonlight. Only maybe two or three feet more then he’d be free. First, he’d have to find his swords and then he had to warn the others. Suddenly, he noticed a shadow creep in front of the moon. When he looked up, he was staring right into Jirou’s face. In his shock, he lost his grip along the slippery wall of the well. Just when he thought he was about to fall, he felt Jirou’s hands around his wrist, digging into his flesh. Once again, he was entirely stunned.

“Are you just gonna hang there or what?” Jirou growled, a strain on his voice.

Quickly, Zoro tried to catch his footing again and take some of his weight off Jirou’s shoulders. After all, he was sure to be significantly heavier than this twink of a man.

“Don’t pull me down there with you.”

With heavy breathing and straining muscles, clinging on to Jirou whenever possible just as he clung on to him, Zoro finally managed to climb out of the well, resting against the damp wall as he tried to catch his breath. As he did, his eyes trailed across Jirou once again, like so many times before. He had left behind his jacket and rolled up his sleeves, his collar partly unbuttoned but his holster still sitting across his chest. Wet and dirty stains from Zoro’s hands were scattered across the white fabric of his shirt, making the fabric slightly transparent. For some reason, that caused a spark in Zoro’s brain, one that travelled throughout his muscles and his veins. Could just be the exhaustion… What mattered most, however, was that Jirou was carrying Zoro’s swords.

“You want those back?” he asked, seeing Zoro eye them.

“Yeah,” Zoro groaned, stepping away from the wall. “Why did you come for me?”

“Because I need your help,” Jirou said. “Sorry about the bottle thing, by the way. I hope I didn’t hit you too hard.”

“It was nothing.”

“Yeah, sure. The blood on your scalp says different.”

“Why do you want my help anyway? To kill more people?”

“I didn’t kill Merry, okay? That was Kuro. And yeah, killing might be part of it. I need you to help me save Kaya. If Kuro and the others get in the way, fair game.”

“Why should I trust you? You tried to kill me last time I saw you.”

“Goddammit,” Jirou hissed, “don’t be such a baby. I didn’t try to kill you. I literally tried to be as gentle as possible while knocking you out so it looked like you were dead but you wouldn’t actually die. How was I supposed to know they’d throw you in the well?”

“I still don’t trust you.”

“Kuro has been tricking me into thinking I was sick just like he did with Kaya. The only reason I didn’t get him yet is because I was too weak, I knew nobody would believe me and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to beat Kuro, Buchi and Sham all at the same time. – Also, I’m gonna help you save your captain.”

Now that caught Zoro’s attention. “Luffy? What did he do this time?”

“He drank a full pot of poisoned soup meant for Kaya. He’s still alive but he’s being dragged away by the Marines.”

“Fucking hell…” Zoro grumbled. He reached out his hand. “My swords.”

“That means you’ll help me, huh?”

“Yeah, just give me my swords back before that idiot gets taken off the island.”

“Good boy,” Jirou cooed with a smirk, loosening the belt with Zoro’s swords from around his hips and giving it back to the swordsman. “Follow me – and try to keep up. We’ll cut them off before the main entrance gate.”

Further away, on the main road, Luffy was doubled over on the ground, coughing up thick blue soup. Koby was kneeling next to him, gently rubbing his back. Finally, it seemed that all of the goo was out of his system.

“Koby,” Luffy, croaked, looking into his friend’s eyes, “I gotta go back. The butler. He’s gonna kill Kaya. And then he’s gonna go after my crew.”

But Koby only lightly shook his head.

“I’m under direct orders to bring you in,” he said pleadingly.

Luffy placed his hand on Koby’s shoulder. “You said you wanted to help innocent people. Kaya’s innocent.”

“You know what, screw this,” Helmeppo sighed, taking Koby’s attention away from Luffy. With a click, he pulled out his gun.

“Helmeppo, don’t!” Koby called, standing in the way of his shot.

“Father always said, ‘Dead pirate weighs the same as a live one.’”

“Garp gave us strict orders.”

“He gave you strict orders. – Start walking, pirate,” he told Luffy, “or die.”

Suddenly, there was a rustling in the trees surrounding Luffy and the Marines. With a growl, a large cat jumped out onto the road, right into the Marines standing at the front. With its sheer speed and strength alone, it knocked one of the soldiers over, then attacked the next, biting his arm, making him drop his rifle. With a terrified whimper, Helmeppo tried to flee the other way, but he was met by Zoro beating up the soldiers at the back, now staring him right in the face.

“Hey, haircut.”

“Wait!” Luffy called just before the cat jumped at Koby. “He’s my friend!”

To Koby’s surprise, the cat listened. It peacefully sat down on the ground and licked the blood off its muzzle, yawning and watching as Zoro knocked Helmeppo out with a single punch. Now that it was sitting still in the light of a streetlamp, Koby could tell that it was a pretty big lynx with soft-looking fur, white splotches across its body, tufted ears, and now very friendly, amber-colored eyes.

“Zoro!” Luffy happily walked over to his first mate’s side. “How’d you know where to find me?”

“I didn’t,” Zoro said. He nodded at the cat. “He did.”

“Ah. Kaya said she had a pet lynx. – Hi, Bowie! Thanks for the help, big guy.”

“Mhm. Only she lied.”

In front of their eyes, the lynx started morphing in shape, standing up straight before revealing the face of a very familiar person.

“Jirou?!” Luffy gasped.

“Hiya,” Jirou replied with a lazy two-finger salute. “And it’s Lux now, thank you.”

“You-“ Koby stammered, “you’re—”

“Uh-uh. Lux Jirou the Wildcat, formerly of the Black Cat Pirates. But now, I’m the security guard of this place, and I don’t give a shit about your orders. You wanna take these pirates with you? Well, tough luck, ‘cause they’re with me now. That butler in there, that’s Kuro of a Thousand Plans, and he’s trying to kill Kaya, and I can’t let that happen. And don’t think he’s gonna stop at just Kaya. I know him. He already killed Merry, and there are more people to follow. So, if you’re a good Marine, you’re gonna let us go, alright?”

Koby just stood there and stared, his thoughts racing in his mind, duty versus morals.

“Koby,” Luffy said decidedly yet gently, “I know you’ve got a job to do. But we’re gonna go back and help our friends. So, don’t try to stop us.”

With those words, he put his straw hat back on and ran off towards the mansion. Zoro followed right behind. Lux threw a quick smirk at Koby before setting after them, shifting into his lynx form. Within mere seconds, he was at the front of the group and shifted back to explain:

“They put the house on lockdown. We won’t get in trough the main entrance and cracking all the outside security locks would take way too long; we’ll have to take the emergency passage.”

Without even waiting for an answer, he shifted back into lynx form and jumped off the main path, leading Zoro and Luffy into the garden. They were running out of time!

The Guardian of the Deku Tree (The Legend of Zelda Series)

I came up with her when Tears of the Kingdom came out. Because of the whole time travel scheme in the game, I felt like creating an OC that would be there across all time to connect Zelda in the past and Link in the present. A timeless creature, if you will. Also, I fell in love with the concept of the Zonai. She isn't really a Zonai, but still. I then got obsessed with a YouTuber who was playing an Ocarina of Time randomizer, and so I got the idea of making her the Guardian/Sage/Spirit of the Deku Tree, because the Deku Tree is pretty much one of the most eternal things in the series. And also... Wood elves and dryads my beloveds...

The Weapons and Intel Expert of the New Squidbeak Splatoon (Splatoon Series)

This is just my love for Octolings and Splatoon in general and my obsession with Splatoon 3 combined. I freaking love the music, too, my gosh... She's there from the very start in Splatoon 1 because I have a very special connection with the first game. I know it doesn't full make sense but I believe in the principles of Shrödinger's Canon. In Splatoon 2 she definitely uses dualies, but in Splatoon 1 it's still a modified octoshot.

The True Halfling (The Lord of the Rings)

Half hobbit, half elf, this is a true halfling. With her being half elf, she got the choice of immortality and she chose to be immortal. She spends her days travelling and learning about different cultures, specifically their songs and music. Legend has it that she's the last creature still alive who can harness the magic of old.

The Feral Lynx (One Piece)

He actually has a name! His name is Lux Jirou! While he's still with the Black Cat Pirates, he goes by his first name Jirou, but once he deserts from them, he goes by his last name Lux. My boy has a very funky lynx devil fruit that lets him do cartoon logic style things because One Piece is One Piece and, judging by the one canon lynx in the series and other animal devil fruits, Oda couldn't care less about biological accuracy, so... Funky lynx boi. In the live action, he's Kaya's bodyguard and, one time when Klahadore finds Kaya crying to fluffy big cat Jirou, Kaya lies and says that this his her pet lynx named... Bowie! Yes, this is a David Bowie reference. Also, he's a Zoro ship. And he joins the Heart Pirates later :)

The Lonely Daughter (Encanto)

Behold! It's Bruno's daughter. You probably already know what that entails, she develops some issues after her father leaves. Her name is Soledad which means "loneliness" but Pepa thought that name was cruel after Bruno left, so everyone calls her Soles now, which means "suns". Wanna know what her power is? Water. With a hint of clairvoyance/scrying. But we don't talk about that :)

The Princess of Hearts (Disney's Alice in Wonderland / Descendants)

What can I say - I love the animated Alice in Wonderland a normal amount. I created her for a Roleplay like, I dunno, six years ago? Over six years? She's the daughter of the Queen of Hearts and her King and she's a Wonderland citizen through and through. Delightfully whacky and fun but also a little creepy. And she loves her tea, spends a lot of time with the Mad Hatter and his friends at his tea party. I tried to import her to the Descendants universe once or twice but I just never found a faceclaim that fit. Her name was originally Alice, but I don't know if the Queen would really call her daughter Alice or if she even knows the name of the girl who caused a ruckus at her court, and also that doesn't fit the Descendants naming scheme :)

The Botanic Monster (Undertale)

Well, I had a hyperfixation on Undertale when I was young. Like. Really young. And I kinda got hit in the feels about it again. Sans ship, probably. Dryad-adjacent thingy. Lives in Snowdin and is constantly cold. That's it for now. Look at my girl :) Well, my first draft of her anyway. Kinda feeling like making her anthro because what else is new. We create cat girls here sir. Dryad/cat hybrid? Maybe some sort of panther or other tree-adjacent cat?

The Cheshire Kitty (Disney's Descendants)

Curse you, Dolly, why did you have to enable me? So yeah, Cheshire Cat's daughter. Queen of Hearts' daughter's bestie, maybe? Absolute menace. This is also a picrew, you can find it here!

Redux/AU: Jelena, the Auxiliary Detective

The bitch is back. The original bitch. Bitch here being short for boss bitch because that's what she is. What if Jelena were a default part of the Investigators? She and Justus would constantly bicker and I am here for it. Is she an OC? No. Has she gained the title of honorary OC? Absolutely. What a queen.

AU: Vicky, the Resistance Spy

What if Vicky's mum and dad had gotten divorced and her mother had taken her back to Germany? What if Vicky had grown up there, never joined the WAAF and never joined the SOE. And what if she met Newkirk on a night out in Hammelburg, accidentally stumbling into the Heroes' organization and putting her life as a civilian on the line for the love of her life, for as much as he lied to her?

Redux/AU: Celine, the Glitch in the System

After watching Who Killed Markiplier, in my YouTube-obsessed mindset, I thought to myself: "Hey, what if Celine had been dragged into Mark's mind along with Darkiplier?" And so, Ego!Celine was born. I don't really know how I'm gonna redo her but I wanna redo her. Or at the very least I wanna revive her.

OC Masterlist - One Piece OCs!

What can I say? - Special interests are a thing.

As per usual, everyone is listed with their age at their introduction into the storyline. The birth years are according to my calculations and approximations of when the story of One Piece takes place. For OPLA, we have a set date for the Syrup Village Arc - Kaya's birthday, which is August 24th! I used that date to figure out if a character had had their birthday yet that year and went from there. Aurelia is feared and revered all across the seven seas. Marines call her the "Black Widow" because she's like a spider in an invisible net of connections and most of her lovers end up dead one way or another, but most pirates respectfully refer to her as "La Donna". Donna Aurelia gets her title from her "family" of underlings, protégés and associates, from up and coming pirate crews to the absolute big shots. And as if that weren't enough, her father is one of the most infamous pirates of the old era, her mother a former empress, and her husband a Warlord of the Sea and the current World's Greatest Swordsman - Dracule Mihawk. Even though her focus is mostly placed on the Grand Line, Baratie remains as one of her firmest territories, and so she she stumbles across some unruly straw-hatted pirate turned chore boy.

But a month before Kaya's 18th birthday, she is kidnapped by the Buggy Pirates, and stuck in a cage until the clown makes the mistake of kidnapping the Straw Hat Pirates as well.

Straw Hat Fun Facts - Evie's OCs Edition

A while ago, I posted these character bulding questions on my resources blog. And now, in the light of my lingering obsession with One Piece, my growing number of OCs for the fandom AND my recent milestone, I've decided that now is as good a time as any to finally answer them for my own OCs! Not all of them are, in fact, Straw Hats, but I'll still answer the questions for them because I can.

Featured are Aurelia, Cora, Inari, Lily, Luna and Lux AND the two still undeveloped ones, for now code-named Betta Fish and Flying Squirrel because... well, that's what they're based on.

Aurelia: Spaghetti carbonara, most likely

Cora: Honestly? Fish and chips. I don't know why. But not the cheap kind. High-end fish and chips, freshly made by Sanji. Fish that is fresh out of the sea, with a crispy crust, and the chips aren't your typical burger fries but more like fried potatoes. I feel like she'd also enjoy sweet potato fries

Inari: Inarizushi, which is a pouch of fried tofu filled with sushi rice. She loves it because it has the same name as her and because it has little fox ears. Sanji usually decorates it with a fox face to match

Lily: Omelette. Why? Because fennec foxes love eggs. Generally, preparing her an egg is good enough, whether you cook it or fry it, she loves eggs, but she especially adores omelettes because they look cool and because of the way Sanji makes them

Luna: Yoghurt, preferably with honey. She also loves elderberries, or yoghurt with elderberry jam

Lux: I feel like he'd like turkey hen? Generally, some sort of poultry. Also chicken (which is a poultry, I know)

Betta fish: Oysters, seaweed

Flying Squirrel: Daifuku (the food, not the character), udon

Least Favourite Food

Aurelia: Chips as in crisps, specifically she doesn't like salted ones. ESPECIALLY not salt and vinegar ones

Cora: I feel like she's not a fan of bitter foods in general and she hates it when food gets burned and she has to eat that charred black stuff. Luckily, that doesn't happen to Sanji. For somewhat obvious reasons, I feel like she also doesn't like oregano

Inari: Funnily enough, she doesn't like fried tofu. Her favourite food is inarizushi but she doesn't like fried tofu. That's because it takes the correct tofu, the proper frying technique and enough rice for her to like inarizushi. She doesn't like the taste of just fried tofu on its own

Lily: I'd say she doesn't like dried, salted fish. It's a common preserve on sea travels and she probably had to eat it a few too many times. Poor girl. She may also be slightly allergic against high amounts of salt

Luna: I don't know. Honestly, she might not be a fan of alcohol? Or at least drinks where you can taste the alcohol, so anything spiked probably isn't for her. There's this dish called Herrencreme in Germany - she wouldn't like it

Lux: Lux isn't exactly a picky eater, but I feel like he has a personal vendetta against cooked meat, especially if it's overcooked

Betta fish: Easy, mermaids don't eat meat and they don't eat fish. A certain group of people tricked her into eating fish at some point and, when she learned what she ate, she immediately had to throw up and felt bad about it for years after

Flying squirrel: I feel like she wouldn't like typical American™ fast food. Too greasy and weird

As a Family

Aurelia is normally the mother but, in the case of the Straw Hats, she might as well be the rich aunt

Cora has middle child vibes (says I, the person with no siblings). She's younger than Nami, vibes-wise. Then again, she's Sanji and Zoro's boyfriend, so... She's the girlfriend that's already part of the family

Inari: The youngest daughter, but only because her and Lily don't exist in the same universe. Technically, she'd be a cousin though? Or a half-sister? Yeah, she's a half-sister!

Lily: Well, you got me there. Youngest daughter, but she's also Sanji's daughter, which would mess up all the generations, so let's say she's the baby daughter that Sanji mainly takes care of

Luna: She's the oldest sister, or, because she's Sanji's girlfriend, she's the girlfriend who the parents like more than their actual child because she's so responsible

Lux: Technically not a Straw Hat, so let's say he's either a cousin or the kid living next door who's always playing soccer with the Straw Hat kids and comes over so often that he practically already lives with them

Betta fish: I can't give too much away without spoilers, but she's the other mother. She's the dad's girlfriend. We're doing a patchwork family here, people. Two moms, two dads.

Flying Squirrel: Neighbour kid who helped the Straw Hats get their ball out of a tree that one time and now they love her. Her and dad no. 1 bond over woodworking

Real-World Nationalities

Aurelia is Mexican, no doubt about it

Cora is English

See, this is where "nationality" becomes the deciding factor because, nationality-wise, Inari is English. As for her heritage, she's probably not just white. I see her as being part Japanese

Lily doesn't really have a nationality because she grew up on a ship, but she eventually moved in with Kaya, who is English

Lux, I'd say, is Russian

Betta fish lady is Thai, because betta fish are also known as Siamese fighting fish and Siam is the historical name of Thailand

Flying Squirrel person is Japanese and of Chinese and Japanese descent

Inner Brain

Aurelia: It depends! Her inner brain is either fully on danger mode or fawning over Mihawk 24/7

Cora: Mostly sewing-related. The other half belongs to her boys <3

Inari: Sweets and chaos.

Lily: There's no way to pin it down. Her mind is 100% childlike whimy and chaos

Lux: Is Zoro around? If so, he's 100% in love. Otherwise, he's honestly either about training or repairing the Tang - or a no thoughts head empty sort of person. He loves his naps

Betta fish lady I honestly don't know too much about yet. Further in the story, she's thinking about her partners for sure (and trying to babysit the Straw Hats, probably), but before that...? I dunno. Let's say she's thinking about tea.

Flying squirrel person is thinking about archery, revenge, stealing, honor and the occasional woodworking project

Suited Flower

Aurelia: Aster flower

Cora: Somehow, I'd say it's a poppy. Because poppies make you fall asleep, which is something that Cora is notoriously bad at lol - and it's red!

Inari: Snapdragon

Lily: Water lily

Lux: Zinnia

Betta fish lady: Hyacinth

Flying squirrel person: Hydrangea
