At some point everyone ends up knowing about Leon being a Chosen, but the first ones are obviously Naomi and Carol. They're still new to the whole thing, and are not entirely sure how things work, so once they learn Leon was Chosen by Eternatus of all things they're like " Okay????? Cool?????? Are you okay?????????????".

......Alexis and Elliot on the other hand. Are confused as fuck. They weren't entirely aware that Eternatus could choose??? Especially from what they learned about it, they assumed it was a deoxys situation ( Deoxys can't Choose btw) but apparently not????? And they're just. So worried for Leon's health, like the guy got possessed, they can't imagine being Chosen by eternatus is going well. Elliot makes sure to text Jude about it and ooooooh boy. Poor Jude. Yet another new Chosen to look after. But it's Leon, someone they kinda met before, so it should be fine? They're just. Very concerned about Eternatus. Cause what the actual fuck. A chosen is only unchosen when the legendary unChooses them and from the looks of it, Eternatus is very attached to Leon so. Leon kinda became the number one concern for a while.

Please imagine Hop, Naomi, and Carol + Leon coming up with a contest-like performance, creating an over-the-top fantasy reinterpretation of the first Darkest Day. These dorks are all so dramatic and theater kids. Their Legendary Partners are definitely participating as well, so they get nice special effects, illusions, impossible architecture, etc..

Naomi and Hop get a double rematch, because they go against both Leon and Eternatus, like Hop and Gloria do in Masters.

Also!

Leon’s not only Eternatus’ trainer. He’s also the dragon they’re saving the region from. They’re both the Dragon. (They’re saving them from the region.)

Her sobs echoed through the hall. It was one of those nights. Nights where she thinks Carol is fast asleep, so she cries her heart out in the lonely silence that is her apartment. But Carol was always awake. They always heard. It would hurt their heart, hearing their mom cry and cry and not being able to do anything about it.

That ended tonight. Tonight they were going to be brave.

They tipped toed out of their room and into the living room. They peaked from the corner to see their mother on the couch, hunched over with her hands covering her face, tears running down her face. Carol gulped. They have never seen her like this before. It was almost ....scary. But they were going to be brave. They were going to be brave for their mom.

" Mommy?" Carol quietly called out. Almost immediately, their mom stopped crying, snapping her head up with wide eyes looking at Carol.

" C-carol!" she exclaimed, hastily wiping away tears, " W-what- what are you doing up so late, it's past your bedtime," Her voice croaked, trying to regain a balance lost to get crying. Carol frowned slightly, before making their way to their mother. They sit down next to her, leaning on and latching to her arm.

" You were crying again....." They mumbled " I don't like hearing you cry....it makes me sad,"

Carol looks up at their mom, eyes wide and hopeful, " Tell me what's wrong? I don't want you to be sad."

Carol's mother looks down at Carol, with a face that Carol couldn't understand. Carol's bravery starts to dwindle the more seconds that goes by when she doesn't speak.

" I..." She starts, and for a moment, Carol's heart warms up- she's talking to them! " I have made....mistakes, in my life." She turns away, looking distant. " Terrible mistakes. Mistakes I regret and...." She swallows, " Ir make me feel lonely,"

Carol frowned, thinking. She felt....lonely? But they were right there? Maybe she didn't realize it....

" That's okay! You don't have to feel lonely anymore!" Carol exclaimed, with a wide smile, " You have me, right? " They point to themself, a hopeful grin.

Carol's mother looks down at them with a face Carol cannot describe. They can only latch into her eyes. They were lightless, not sharing the hope that Carol had. Carol's bravery was slipping through it all.

She gently pushed Carol away from her. Her voice was soft , " Go to bed, Carol".

There was a pain in Carol's chest. They didn't know why.

" Um....Okay! Goodnight mommy!" And with their bravery in pieces, they hurry back to their room.

Carol didn't know it at the time, but that was the first time they ever felt rejection.

It was only but a few days later where Carol and their mother were hand in hand, walking down the busy and crowded streets of Wyndon. Shopping, their mom said. The crowd was buzzing with excitement for an upcoming match - Leon vs Raihan. One would become the champion of the region. But Carol didn't care about that. They cared about their mother's hand.

They babbled on and on, pointing out random things to their mother, hoping that she would be paying attention. The warmth of her hand still on theirs.....until it wasn't.

When Carol looked up, their mother was gone. They remember hearing a faint " stay here" and then.....

The crowd continued as they did. People and pokemon excited for the upcoming match. Carol didn't know where their mother was.

" Mommy?"

Related to the last post, Hop has. A lot of nicknames. So I wanted to say which nickname is often said by who.

Hopscotch - the most used nickname by all, but most said by Naomi.

Hoppy - Carol and Naomi often use this nickname, but again, mostly Naomi.

Hopper - Was coined by Carol, and is often used between Marnie and Bede.

Bulba Boy - Literally just Carol. Actually no, Bede sometimes when the two are getting into petty arguments.

Paul - not a nickname, actually Hop's second name, and something that the rest of the group find incredibly hilarious and LOVE to pull up when they ( affectionately) bully him. ( I'm constantly debating if I want this to be canon btw, but it's too funny to not put here lol)

In the early days of their friendship, Bede was never the one to say nicknames. Carol has pretty much given him an unfortunate nickname ( Bede-a-lee), as did Hop ( wooloo head), both with varying reactions ( as annoyed as Bede seems, he doesn't hate the nickname Carol gave him. Hop calling him wooloo head is specifically used to rile him up tho). But to actually say the nicknames his friends had was kinda out of the question for him at first. Marnie pretty quickly started calling Naomi, Nomi and Hop, Hopscotch/Hoppy/Hopper ( both instances made the two besties very happy. Friendship goal reached!), and vice versa with them calling her Mar-Mar, Marbles ( coined by Carol as always) and the like. Bede never participated in the nicknames only bc he thought it was stupid lmao.

That is until one day Naomi casually mentioned Hop as "Hopscotch". It wasn't the first time Bede has heard her call him that, but he always assumed that it was towards Hop himself when he was present.

Bede: Hopscotch?

Naomi: Huh? Yeah? You've heard me say it before, Bede.

Bede: Well, yes, but not when he isn't here.

Naomi: ( tilts her head slightly) Why would I not, though? Hopscotch is pretty much Hop's second name at this point.

Bede: .....hm.

It wasn't until a while later where Hop and Bede were annoying each other (again), when Hop called Bede wooloo head, again to rile up Bede. Bede's mind immediately flash back to Naomi and her calling Hop Hopscotch. In Bede's head, he thought calling Hop, Hopscotch was a good gotcha moment, like " haha, not so funny now is it". But he must have forgotten that Hopscotch was basically a term of endearment, cause Hop immediately turned it back on him saying " hopscotch? Aaaaaw you really do care! >:D" which just annoyed Bede even more ( he did care, btw, but he doesn't want to admit that-)

After that, nicknames kinda started to be said more and more. It started out with just Hop, mostly to combat Wooloo head, but it then spread to the rest of his friends in terms of endearment. Soon enough he's going " Slow down, Hopper" or " Nomi, could you....?". Marnie is probably the one he says the nickname the least because hers are the ones he thinks are too silly for him to say. He's adamant of giving her a better one.

Carol has been cursed with me not knowing a good nickname to give them. I need to find it bc Bede-a-lee is mostly said by Carol, and I want a nickname for Carol that's mostly said by Bede. Sibling bonding and such. But alas, my brain still hasn't come up with anything.

But yeah! That's Bede's nickname journey! Does this mean he starts to nickname his pokemon? Maybe, yeah. Though I can see it for practicality that he doesn't use it often.

So! The main story of XY is fine,and all I have to do is Emma's plotline. So let's do a poll to see what's do next!

I will say, both Violet and Ultra Moon I am much further in than PLA, and well. I said post game last time I did the poll but what I meant was IOA and Crown Tundra for Carol. My bad!

I think this time around, regardless of who wins, I'll dabble in the other games of this poll, cause I found myself kinda wishing to play other games when doing the y nuzlocke. Not bc I wasn't having fun!!! I had lots of fun, but it's hard focusing on one game, you know? But yeah, vote away!

Okay okay okay so I fell asleep and took a lil nap but I remember thinking before I did that I was like " damn. When you put it like that, Carol is honestly pretty powerful, probably more than they realize" and then I feel asleep.

So let me try ( key word try) to explain my thought process here: Essentially Calyrex have power over life and death. Not like Xerneas and Yveltal, I feel like those two are far more powerful that Calyrex in lore, and Calyrex can't do what they can obviously. But still, they have some powers over it.

And then there's the fact that Carol is not only taking power from Calyrex, but bits of Spectier and Glastier individually too. It's why I gave them ability to kind of knock the soul out of someone, since it's something Glastier can apparently do. Glastier doesn't have much other than the ice that Carol is able to create.

So all together, you have all these powers stored into one Chosen. Like!!!!! They can bring greenery to a wasteland of cold ( which is something I bet Xerneas can do), they have some form of control over spirits and souls if they can literally knock the soul out of someone and put it back in (again. The Bede incident). And lastly have Visions, since in Calyrex 's shadow rider form Pokedex's mention how Calyrex was able to move pokemon away from a forest based on a prediction they had( for Carol they get visions without the crown and ice-ghost shards, but they're not as perceived as they are without them)

This honestly makes me think that when Calyrex Chose Carol, they 1) earned Carol that with their power back, the powers they'll get, even as a small fraction, will be A Lot and 2) Because their powers are A Lot,they will be coming in slower than average. Calyrex thought, for Carol, the bountiful harvest of their powers would pop up first, even if it's a fraction of what Calyrex can do. Instead, Carol first developed their ice powers and visions , which had caused them headaches given how erratic they were at first, then they developed the soul knocking thing, which they found out by accident ( ....better than Spectiers life draining the sleeping ability they guess???) And THEN the bountiful harvest stuff, which was probably the easiest for Carol.

Calyrex must have felt so bad hgvhvgvgvcg. He probably considered Unchoosing Carol, but Carol was like "No no no, this is sick". So at least Carol's having fun? Calyrex does help Carol with their powers of course, and Calyrex made sure to sooth Carol of any pain while they were training to get their powers under control. So Carol is fine!( For the most part).

Tdlr: @youareshauni 's comment made me Think and now you guys have to deal with it. I might cut back on Carol's Chosen powers, might not, I'm not 100% sure right now. But this was fun to ramble about and try to understand. Hopefully I got my point of view across.

For anyone wondering how tall I imagine the swsh kids are by SV in my au.

Naomi grew a solid 2 inches and then stopped. I don't think Bede grew much at all. Carol grew and solid inch taller( and maybe a few cm, I dunno) Hop and Marnie were the ones that had noticeable growth spurts. Hop was always taller than Naomi ( not sure if he used to be taller than Carol though I'd imagine they were close in height), so him growing as tall as his brother wasn't surprising. What was surprising was Marnie, who used to be as short as Naomi, but grew a fucking lot. This is her without the heels btw.

Okay yesterday I did the older protags so now for the newer ones! I consider B2W2 and XY as the bridge between the old and the new,so they're technically a mix of both!

Eva: Flighty city girl that's always wanted to travel across Unova. Has an interest in physical health, technology, and of course, pokemon! Was ecstatic when given the opportunity to get a starter. Only really did the gym challenge after Alder suggested it and to help Hugh achieve his goals ( or rather, to make sure he doesn't go overboard and too into his head). Rather quickly she found out she enjoyed battling a big deal! Wants to believe the best in everyone, but don't exactly favor dishonest people.

Wayne: An ex team plasma grunt that was taken in by Clay after the events of BW. Incredibly remorseful of what he's done ( he didn't do much as a grunt, but the guilt was still there), and thinks that the best way to make up for it is with work. Doesn't associate with the team plasma in driftviel city at all, wanting to cut all ties with his past. He's awkward, not having known much outside of Team Plasma and driftviel city, and is still getting used to the pokemon battling itself, but he ultimately has a good heart and wishes for a peaceful world.

Jude: Adopted child of Grace, Jude has hard cold walls around them with a knack for being rude. They don't desire friends, only really going with Sycamore's group cause there's a chance to be something greater. Has aura powers that they are desperately keeping down, thinking they already know the world and how cruel it already is. Has a soft spot for pokemon but it's hard to show it when they keep their emotions low. Despite it all, they have a strong sense of justice and care a lot, no matter how much they deny it.

Dante: The child of two veteran trainers,Dante is generally kind hearted, though he tends to have a bit of an ego,believing himself to be the most capable trainer of his friends. He simultaneously wants to live up to his parents legacy, while also moving away from their shadow, proving his own worth and skill. He holds himself at a high standard because of this, which makes it hard for him when his ego is bruised by Jude fairly quickly.

Amsonia: A selectively mute girl recently getting out of an abusive household with her mother, they always have their guard up. They are slow to trust no thanks to their past, only truly feeling comfortable around pokemon and her mom. She is fiercely protective at her young age, reluctant to even leave her mom alone to go on the gym challenge at first. Despite being so young, Amsonia had to grow up fast, though she slowly learns how to be a kid again.

Pua/Poppy/Ray/Sunny/????: ( Name still impending) An amnesiac that came from an ultra wormhole from a ruined Alola....not that they remember that. It was founded by Team Skull, specifically Guzma, and was under their care for a while....until Guzma sent him away to Kukui. He doesn't remember who he is, of why Guzma sent him away....but he's planning on making the most of it. Answers will come, eventually,so might as well go with the flow for now!

Naomi: A young girl in Curse-Chosen limbo thanks to an incident with her father, the original bearer. While the Curse caused him to be sick, it caused her to forget. Parts of her past are blurry, even when looking at them in present day. She's an incredibly shy and anxious girl, with low self esteem to boot, though she's much more lively around her friends. She only goes on the gym challenge for Hop, not even considering that she'll make it past the first gym. Despite everything, she has a good heart and wants to help out, even when she's scared.

Carol: Often seen as "the problem child", Carol is the bastard child of Chairman Rose, who only found out about their birth father recently. Mischievous, a schemer and very protective of those they care about, they would go to great lengths to not only protect their friends but get revenge. Does not view themself highly, however, convinced they just make others lives miserable, and tends to self sabotage when buckling under pressure.

Luca: An adventurous spirit, wanting to complete the gym challenge in Paldea the minute he heard about it from his Mom. Would have done it in Galar if it weren't for the darkest day having such an effect on him and his family ( his parents got divorced after their daughter was severely hurt during DD, which the father blames Luca for). Forever an optimist, and wanting to make friends wherever he goes, he's determined to help his friends and have an adventure he desperately wanted back in Galar.

R.B: A girl that's been through a lot, abusive parents, countless schools and countless bullies, Ramona has all but given up trying to be nice. Uva academy is her last chance, and she just wants to get it over with. She doesn't trust a lot of people, especially the school faculty, and prefers being alone, which is somewhat easier when she was given the title The Calamity in past schools. Though it's not all easy: her childhood friend no more is back in her life, much to her dismay and anger, the class president of the rival school is too nice to her, and even more so, a fellow new student is very eager to be her friend. Joy. Her plan to keep her head low and move along the school year is progressively getting harder to maintain

Trying to explain Carol's powers is honestly pretty hard. Like there's the stand out stuff, like their future vision, but like explaining the other stuff is kinda hard. Cause since Carol is the Chosen of Calyrex, and Calyrex has access to both of his steeds, Carol's powers reflect both Glastier and Spectier- think that ice crown that I like to have them wear, or how Carol can cause someone's soul to just nope out their body (the Bede incident). Individually it's easy to say, but stringing them together is surprisingly hard.

Hello all. I have come to the decision that Legendverse Bede ( Bede Faye? That's the surname I'm going with for now) is officially younger than Carol. His birthday is on August 24th, while Carol's is May 23rd. I cannot express how funny this is to me. Bede got hit with the baby brother beam. Carol and Bede are going to annoy eachother so much now, omg-
