Attn Oberlin College Alumni
Hi, if you're out there! If I know anything about Obies, some of you are definitely still on tumblr. I'm putting out this call to ask you to join the call for Oberlin to divest.
We're asking you to read the divestment information linked above, then sign this to show the Board of Trustees you agree with the student proposal. Then, as a step two, sign this pledge, saying you won't be donating to Oberlin until they divest from Israel.
Thanks for taking a minute to read this and act, please message me if you have any questions!

Happy 62nd bday Alison Bechdel🤘🏽 I drew this coloring book page of @alisonbechdel , who is the writer and cartoonist who the Bechdel Test (or Rule) is named after! 🔬 This rule is a measure of the representation of women in fiction, a simple test which names the following three criteria: (1) The work has to have at least two women in it, who (2) talk to each other, about (3) something besides a man. (4) The requirement that the two women be named is sometimes added. The test was popularized in Alison Bechdel's comic: #DykesToWatchOutFor 🕵🏽♂️👯♀️👀 #AlisonBechdel #OberlinCollege #BardCollegeAtSimonsRock #TheBechdelTest #AreYouMyMother #TheEssentialDykesToWatchOutFor #FunHome #MacArthurGeniusAward #Tragicomic #LinesOfTransmissionComicsAndAutobiography #FunHomeTheMusical #PièceDeRésistance #PostcardsFromTheEdge #ThingsFallApart #EisnerAward #TheSecretToSuperhumanStrength #FemaleComicsCreators #takeOnMe #AhHa #butch #lesbiansOfTiktok https://www.instagram.com/p/CiVj5RlPQSX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Today is Eva Hesse’s birthday. When I was an art history student at Oberlin, I did a paper on her piece Laocoon, a four-sided structure made of acrylic, paint, cloth covered cord, wire and paper-mache over plumbers’ pipe. This visually turbulent piece was made about the time both her marriage and health started to deteriorate. Hesse’s sister donated her personal notes and letters to the college, I read them all. One note was stained with her tears. That kind of experience/connection lives with you forever. #evahesse #postminimalism #modernart #oberlincollege #arthistory https://www.instagram.com/p/CYmLpXCLxTx/?utm_medium=tumblr

Library Memories
Whether you stopped by MuddSlinger to doodle your pet, checked out a book, studied in your carrel, took a snack from the food fairy, collaborated with a group, played giant Jenga in the Commons, chilled in a womb chair, caught a little shut eye on the 3rd floor, or used a group study room as an alternative study space just this year – the library staff hopes you leave the Terrell Main Library with lots of fond memories and return one day as an Alum to record your favorite library memory. Congratulations to all the seniors!

Animal Art
The magical connection between people and animals can be seen in a variety of ways: through pictures, words and even art. The Clarence Ward Art Library offers a variety of books about Animals in Art that offer a glimpse into the special connection between people and animals through photography, sculpture and painting.
Learn about the differences and evolution of animal art in Europe and Asia. Look at animals in the wild, those in the common household, as well as those created from stories and myths passed on generation by generation.
Animal art is a whole new world to explore here at the art library; most of the books can be found in the N 7660 section! These books can be checked out and read next to your favorite pet! But please, the dog ate my book excuse will not work here.
