1, 18 and 21. Burn the wap fandom alive baby
1. The character everyone gets wrong:
I already talked about Pierre in my other answer, so I’m going to go with a weird pair of characters: Marya B and Anatole. With Marya B, people love to just turn her into a soft girl cottagecore lesbian stereotype character and ignore all of the nuance she has. She helped essentially run the estate when her father was dying and whipped everyone into shape when no one else stepped up. She basically raised Nikolushka for her absent brother. She was relieved her father was dying and felt horribly guilty about it. She helps out people down on their luck out of the goodness of her heart even though her family disapproves. She’s so much more than just a cute sweet girl that can be dismissed because she’s “soft” and “boring”. She can be soft AND strong AND interesting.
As for Anatole, everyone treats him like he’s either a haha silly stupid guy who just makes mistakes and doesn’t think and infantilizes him to excuse his actions like he’s not a grown adult man OR treats him like some evil mastermind heartbreaker who just wants to hurt people. He is neither of those things. He’s too stupid to be actively manipulative but he’s also too self absorbed to care if anyone gets hurt while he pursues what he wants. He’s not innocent and naive but he’s not calculated either. His major problem is that he is horribly horribly selfish. He’s the worst and I hate him forever still of course
18. It’s absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on…
My usual answer is Vera Rostova, but it seems there’s been a bit of a revolution around her recently. Not really sure what’s going on in Veraland but I salute you all. So I’m changing my answer to Boris! He is one of the guys ever and we need to talk about him more. He’s ambitious he’s driven he’s a mommy’s boy he wrote his wife emo poetry and doesn’t even like her anyway. He’s friends (or something…) with Hélène. The guy ever
Also Petya!!! He’s sooo interesting as a parallel to Nikolai and a tragic cautionary tale about idealizing war. The scene between him and that young French prisoner of war haunts me forever
21. Part of canon you think is overhyped:
I want to say the philosophy rants but NO ONE is hyping that up lmao. I’m going to go with the bear cop river thing. Don’t get me wrong I love that bit but people talk about it like its a whole volume of misadventures when it’s literally mentioned once in passing

Wanna see the world burn so 🔥 Tamsand for the ship ask!
Lmao anon you want my beasties to be appalled? Cuz it'd be the odd one out but ok!
Send me a 🔥 and a ship and I'll tell you what I think of them
Short answer? NOTP, I hate it, squick, I have the tagged blocked
Longer answer. While the Canon dynamic with Tamlin and Rhysand's past is interesting and you can make tragic fics with the both as friends or as past lovers, and I do think Rhysand is a little too obsessed with bothering Tammy baby I hate the idea of these two as a couple unless it's a bad end.
There's a few reasons. The simple one is that I hate Rhysand enough to stick him in The Rack from Saw 3 (Don't look that shit up if you're grossed out by heavy gore) with absolutely no remorse and the idea of paring this overhyped asshat bat with my favorite character makes me gag (Same could be said for other Rhysand ships like Feysand, Rhysta, Rhycien, etc)
Another one would be that I hate giving this dude attention. Any acotar merch is made for him and his bat boys. There's literally no Feyre merchandise in Hot Topic all of it it's him, even tho she's supposed to be the MC. I'm so so very sick of him hoggin page time and arcs from the other of infinitely more interesting characters. So when I look for fic if Tamsand or Rhysand are prominent I tend to scroll past even if it's an author I like.
Finally and the heaviest reason for my deep-seated hate of this ship it's one specific scene in ACOFAS. You know the one.
The scene in the novella where Rhysand goes to Spring sees the desolate state of the Court, of Tamlin, of the man who saved him despite their hate for eachother and just goes of on him and tells him to die. It's absolutely disgusting and triggering that I had to throw the thing away and go puke.
After that I can't ship those two in any way shape or form, even if it's an AU where their faling out never happened I just can't get past that scene. Having been in Tamlin's suicidal state once years ago it would disgust me if anyone suggested I get with a person who pushed me down during that time which thankfully for me that didn't happen, but if it had I would've cut ties with them. I can't get over it and just decided to block it out
There are plenty of multishipper creators and even friends of mine who've dabbled in it but I stay the hell away from that ship even if whatever they're in is expertly made. I can't get past the dynamic they have in canon, and my Rhysand hate and the suicide bait scene. If I want Tamlin x another male character I can get that with Tamcien, Tamris, Tamquin and even Tamlin x KoH. Rhysand is the last character I would ever want more content for.
Also call me vanilla but the whole 'bffs/ exes who are torn apart by war' isn't a trope I like much. It's good for certain pairs but not a thing I go for. Hell if I don't care for it with Optimus Prime x Megatron where I love both characters and their falling out is far more balanced, tragic and believable why would I care for it between my fave and the dude I hate and it only being tacked on for Sarah to woobify the shitlord and throw more dirt on Tamlin? It really isn't my cup of tea.
Hope this answers your question, anon!

hi! can you write how do you think Tommy would be with a 'potterhead' s/o?
aaaaaa yes
I have such a special connection with Harry Potter this makes me happy :D
Anyways enjoy <3
TW: slight mention of crack (it makes sense when you read it)
Ok so I’m not exactly sure if Tommy is a Harry Potter fan so I’m gonna write scenarios/headcannons for both
So let’s say he isn’t a fan
He would probably be like “why are you obsessing over a British person that’s not me”
He thinks it’s kinda overhyped
But after a while of convincing and I mean a LONG while
He caves in to your begging and watches a few of the movies with you
He tries to hide the fact that he enjoys them by saying stuff like
“Ehh it was ok” and other mediocre comments
But you can tell he liked it by the way he insisted the two of you dress up as characters for Halloween.
He tried to be discreet about it but you could tell he really wanted you two to do it
He definitely gives draco malfoy vibes smh
Now let’s say he is a fan
He would be so ecstatic to find someone he could talk to about the movies
You two would talked about your favorite ships, least favorite scenes, favorite characters, characters who deserved better, etc
You could talk for hours oml
Have nothing to talk about?
Harry Potter.
you two would definitely have all the movies on tape or smth and just pull and all nighter watching the movies
He also would LOVE LOVE LOOVEEEE If you read the books to him
Like if it’s a rainy day and you have nothing better to do please read to him bc he will just become a puddle on the floor
Tommys the kinda guy to bring home little nonsense gifts that are Harry Potter related for you
he’d probably bring home a giant Walmart bag and you’d be like
“Tommy wtf is that”
And he’s just like
“Harry potter”
It’s just so funny jejsjjdjfjwf
He would definitely force you to recreate scenes from the movies
Like the part where Harry and Voldemort are having that epic battle
You two would so fight with your totally real wands
Also just a funny idea but imagine a stream that’s like “turning tommy into Voldemort”
And you put a bald cap on him and paint his face really badly
And it’s like if Voldemort was on crack
Like that could low-key happen
Anyways that’s pretty much what I think he would be like lmao
A/n: sorry this is short, hope you like it tho :)

ok so just to get it out of my system before i process it all and lose my mind abt the rest. what i Am nitpicky about in 2x02 is:
tai's whole issue with shauna being the MAKEUP????? like girl that is by far the least fucked up thing shauna is doing. and in like. regular society that's what we DO to corpses for open casket funerals. like it's not even WEIRD especially in comparison to the rest of shauna's behavior. and i absolutely do see how tai is sort of projecting like she's very disturbed by her own behavior so then shauna - who she became very close to after crash - acting like she's also really losing it is scary for her and she lashes out cause she doesn't know how else to help. that makes sense! but it's just a bit. anticlimactic. and i feel like they overhyped the makeup scene. regardless of whether they were gonna make it more or less ambiguous whatever complicated feelings there were between them (which like. i am probably the only one not surprised by how it went. shauna's is in no way aware that there may have been any gay feelings there lmao as a dumb bitch who thought wanting my best friend to kiss me was me wanting to Be her this in no way goes against what i think of this dynamic and character) i still do think there was a way to make that more uhhh intimate and like. emotional in a way. idk
not a huge fan of all the focus on travis and the lottietravisnat thing and adult misty's whole deal with frodo. like. that could have been a woman. i am so sorry but is jeff not enough in terms of goofy/quirky men? I DON'T CARE. i'd like to see nat and lottie have a connection beyond whatever the hell is going on with travis especially cause nat is notoriously being kept apart from the girls in 96 and so much of her arc is about men. and it makes sense! there's a lot that's interesting there but i do watch this show for female characters and the various dynamics between them so. fingers crossed for lottienat. which reminds me! lets sideline jeff for a while so i can see whatever the hell shauna and callie have going on. i love a messed up mother daughter relationship lets go
also sucks they skipped over so much of shauna's forest pregnancy cause i hoped she'd have an Interesting fucked up relationship with her body and pregnancy and they would use it for horror some more but it appears not :(

7,8,20,21 for the fandom thingy
man once i got asks for this i remembered that i haven't really seen any fandom opinions & stuff outside my circle bc i have a lot of people blocked & i straight up cannae remember what common hcs and opinions r lmao but these r my thoughts from what i remember
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
there's no character i hate *Solely* for fandom reasons, but they way the fandom is about Ethan did help speed that up on replays. or like i felt less inclined to try and excuse the way the narrative coddles him?
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
that there's nothing salvageable about book 3. sure it sucked, i dislike it myself, but imo for the most part of it it's got good ideas that are just poorly executed (not everything is a poorly executed good idea though. the reveal that Ethan was covering for Naveen's fuckup was so gd racist and i am 100% dropping that from my hc faster than you can say "medical malpractice". like god forbid the white guy face consequences for his actions)
20. part of canon you found tedious or boring
for the most part i think that Choices books are really good at keeping things moving so theres not really much i can call tedious or boring. like even when the pacing is weird at least stuff is happening?
that said like all of The Royal Romance. im not even finishing the series
21. part of canon you think is overhyped
post funeral car sex scene
if pb was even just slightly better at writing smut i may feel different

6, 9, and 21 for the ask game!
6: which ship fans are the most annoying? i think most annoying to me personally are probably ronance, but only because they’ve like… actively bugged me and sent me hate anons lmao. though a pet peeve of mine is when byler shippers make every single scene about mike and will. i’m trying to find stobin posts!! not see them used as ‘evidence’.
9: worst part of canon. for me, i think vecna. he’s a dumb villain. i liked the incomprehensible horrors, the motives we’ll never understand, and the characters having to fight against this huge unstoppable thing. now it’s just some weird guy. and it’ll never compare.
21: part of canon you think is overhyped. hmmm. maybe nancy’s guns. they’re just so useless! but everyone pretends they actually do something. i wish nancy could just get an axe or something!! a weapon that’s actually useful instead of ‘girlboss’.

I wanna get into reading smut!! Did you have any recommendations?
It all depends on what kind of smut you're into!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are all very very different lmao but it enjoyed them nonetheless
Neon Gods - retelling of Hades and Persephone which I'm always a sucker for. This book has one of my absolute favourite spicy scenes, hands down. (throne scene. If you read it, you'll know)
Wicked Beauty - another book in the Dark Olympus series (same as neon gods) only this is full of threesomes and competition to become on of the thirteen. It's about Helen of Troy, Achilles, and Patroclus. Do recommend.
Haunting Adeline - Dark romance, very fucked up, recommend that you google the trigger warnings first. The smut in this book is unhinged at times, consider yourself warned. I enjoyed it but I do think it is a bit overhyped.
Get a Life, Chloe Brown - This is more of a romance with splashes of spice. There are a few scenes but they aren't the main focus. Still v much recommend. Chronically ill female main character working on a list of things that she's deemed will help her to get her own life. I really enjoyed it. It was nice to see a chronically ill/disabled woman be seen romantically and sexually.

please talk about the bl actors you find absolute shit I love controversial opinions
LMAO puta out here tryin to get me cancelled, rejected, cast out, exiled
sure why not, putting this under a cut b/c no one likes seeing bad opinions on ppl they like so enter at your own risk etc etc:
tbh there's not a ton of them b/c I haven't watched as many shows as other folks. Like, watching shows is difficult tbh especially Thai ones which are like an hour long each episode and have a lot of filler I just can't find it in my soul to do it okay. BUT out of the shows I have watched I've been left pretty unimpressed by:
Ohm from Until We Meet Again: I know he's really well liked, but I'm sorry my dude can't act. Flat. I probably have the most firm opinion on him and I just find myself so thoroughly unimpressed. I think what doesn't help is that Fluke is a good actor.
And I don't just mean the crying, like Fluke, Gun, and First are all good criers right? It's a fandom joke at this point but like, that ability isn't what makes them good actors. You can see their experience on screen, in how they embody the characters they play, the subtle changes in their physicality, how they line read, the way they interact with their costars.
I've said before but I find Pharm to be a pretty boring character, but Fluke gives him enough charm on screen that I don't outright dislike him. Meanwhile Dean is just boring. He's BORING. And Ohm doesn't have the skills to make him not boring. Stoic characters are actually really difficult to play, I actually really liked the performance of Wang Yibo in The Untamed b/c without the use of animation LWJ is a difficult character to play b/c he's so internal and stoic outwardly. But Yibo gives him some humanity with his line reads and his eyes (the lantern scene comes to mind) and I don't even LIKE that show.
Ohm just doesn't have the skills to make the standard stoic romantic hero work, he's to flat, he relies to much on his innate physicality to carry the performance. All that said I haven't watched one of his recent shows so maybe he got better idk!
Bright from 2Gether: Idk if this is popular or not and I didn't even like 2Gether but talk about another dude who can't act woof. Bright reminds me of the mixed actors Netflix always casts in their teen romcom sequels that are hotter than the basic white dude love interest but never win b/c why would they? Anyways he can't act, I liked the other dude Win way more. He had great comedic timing and even when Bright was required to act like happy or joyful it came off as ~Acting~
Off from Theory of Love/Not Me: So lemme say that I don't think Off is a bad actor not like Bright and Ohm flat lmao I just think Gun out acts him at like every corner. I think Off lacks charisma but that's so subjective so I don't talk about it much b/c I know ppl love him/OffGun but like, I don't see it much. Idk OffGun is nice, they're nice! But they're just nice. They're chemistry doesn't wow me or blow me away or anything there's something I find really restrained about them? Like they've been working together for so long they feel more like really good friends than that passionate I want and love you type romance. I will say tho I think Off picks some good projects so good for him
Earth/Mix: FML this one's gonna get me okay so like I don't think either Earth or Mix are bad actors but I think they're a bit idk overhyped? I found 1000 Stars mind numbingly boring - except for Mix's char I loved the char but found the performance a bit lackluster - and they're the least interesting part of Moonlight Chicken for me. They remind me of OffGun where they're such good friends and they've only really worked with each other mainly (I know Earth's worked with other screen partners) that I think it's developed some bad acting habits and they're to comfortable. They don't give me that passionate I want and love you type romance. Which for 1000 Stars, totally fine it wasn't that type of show but I really felt that missing bit in Moonlight Chicken.
Mix was trying hard to give bedroom eyes (and I do think he succeeded!) but tbh I didn't feel the sexual tension between them, I didn't feel the "this is a bad idea but I want you to much to care" vibe. I honestly think Earth was a miscast anyway b/c the char is supposed to be almost 40 and he's fucking 28 irl it's as unbelievable as Jennifer Lawrence at 20-something playing a 40-something in American Hustle.
Earth also plays mostly stoic characters and I think they often come off as boring. I think he's actually pretty funny? His comedic timing is pretty good but he doesn't get to play fun characters! He doesn't have enough experience to give weight to these old characters they keep casting him as.
I think you can really see the difference in the scenes with First and Mix actually. Mix was better but you could see First was leading those scenes. What's truly frustrating is I think Mix could grow as an actor if he wasn't always paired up with Earth. One of the reasons I think First, Gun, and Fluke are so good is b/c of their experience. They act against other people, they take out there projects at times, being locked in a "pairing/ship" just hurts an actors development imo it's limiting and I selfishly hate it
It also doesn't help that Thai BL usually only has shallow secondary relationships between the main chars and supporting characters. Like, one of my gripes with 1000 Stars is all the supporting cast are severely under developed to the point they really are just avatars for "kind village people" they're more of an ideal than actual characters yes even the doctor who was just the standard "best friend who helps the mains hook up".
not to harp on Kinnporsche but one of the best things about the show is the time it takes to make characters interact with other chars outside of their romances. Pete's friendships with Arm, Tankhun, and Pol feel genuine. The mean girls club of Big and Ken feels real (you know those coworkers, you've HAD those coworkers), Porsche and Chay's relationship feels REAL and sincere and valued, Porsche's relationship with Tankhun is funny yes, but contrasted with how Tankhun acts around Kinn and Korn. Kim's isolation adds to his storyline. Kinn's relationship with his brothers is paralleled with Porsche and Chay's. Vegas relationship with Kinn, Gun, Porsche, Pete even Tawan are all so VASTLY different it's amazing to see.
What also helps is seeing what actors bring out what. Like, Bible is a good example, the energy he has with Apo is different than what he had with Build. Like obviously Vegas "love" for Porsche was fake while it was real for Pete but making that distinction clear in your performance matters. And isn't as easy as folks would think.
ok I'm beat that's all for now folks lol

did you read RMB ? i didn’t but i heard colin rather was very aggresive in it.
Okay so holy shit did not realise it's 4am so this will be my last ask for tonight!
Thanks for sending this, anon :)
Before we get into this, I need to shill the hell out of Nine Rules To Break When Romancing A Rake by Sarah McLean! THIS is what RMB should have been although Callie and Ralston are MILES ahead of Book!Polin. The vibes of a fat girl gaining confidence through life experience and her "friend" helping her through it is IMMACULATE. So I would recommend reading that instead of RMB!
Anyways let's get into this ask! I will say it caught me off guard lmao because I am the last person who would be asked this.
That being said, yes I have read! January 2021 was a time for most of Bton fans I feel cos most of read the books after we liked what we saw in S1 (minus Daph assaulting Simon) and were curious about the books esp of the characters we adored!
I was so lucky that I loved Ben and Ant (he's a shithead but he's my shithead and also I love all fictional Eldest Siblings - they are me and I am them) so I binge read the series and fell in love with Kathony and Benophie.
Because I always finish what I start (though I have not finished the series 💀 thanks Philoise for being so shit), I went on to read RMB after Kathony and Benophie's books even though I didn't really care for them in the show. I really thought Colin and Marina would be endgame!
This is so funny you asked because recently I did come across my Goodreads review of RMB the first and last time I ever read it. Apparently 22 year old me liked it?? Which I cannot fathom now. Then again I have read so many other HR books now and all vastly different, by better authors too.
It's a nice book but ultimately pretty forgettable. I cannot tell you any key moments that stood out or the full plot.
Book Spoilers Ahead!
I just remember vaguely Lady Danbury does a bet to uncover LW and Cressida pretends its her?? I think??
Then one scene I remember - only because my friends and I are on a mission to find better and hotters versions in other HR books - is their carriage scene where Colins only grabs a single tit of hers 😂 So now we call him One Tit Colin
I would say it's a simple book, good for people just starting HR. However, it's not the best in the series like the Polins like to hype it. It's a bit boring because JQ tried to make them fairytale perfect and it did not work. It's not a Disney movie, Julia, it's HR and there needs to be substantial conflicts and hotness!
As for the aggressive bit, yeah I did not like how he emotionally abusive to Pen for most of the book especially after he finds out she's LW. Then in one scene gets so jealous, he grabs and bruises her, thus becoming physically abusive. Definitely did not like that.
Also their dynamics felt off to me upon reflection, they never ever get onto equal standing. Like yes, most HR books have that Regency-misogynistic gap in the beginning that tilts the power to the Hero initially but the couple always ends up equal in the end. That never happens with these two and it's just really weird.
Other than that, it's an okay book. Not awful but not great either. It's just overhyped in my opinion.
There are more points to be made but they all come from the brilliant Triv @hptriviachamp and I share the opinions too! She wants to add on to this and is definitely better for it since she has read RMB more recently than I have! (She also has alot more thoughts on the aggressive bit of your ask!)
Without further ado, I'll let her reblog and add on:
(Thanks again for this ask anon and let us know how you find Nine Rules if you decide to read it!)

OH LORD I WATCHED THE NEW HUNGER GAMES MOVIE, IT WAS SO GOOD!! I swear I honestly didn't know if it was being overhyped or not, but oh my god??? Honestly life changing
The scene where Lucy Gray is singing with the snakes was so 😭 it was beautiful and poor wovey and dill. I swear as soon as Snow said he "killed his oldself," I started giggling. AND OH THE SEJANUS MY BELOVED, when he called out for his ma, I was crying. Overall, the movie was def a 10/10 for me lol and honestly, I feel like the songs haunted by laufey or Savior complex by phoebe bridgers fit the two of them pretty well.
- 🐼
DUDE it was soooo good. easily my favorite movie now, catching fire will have to be #2!! and im guilty for hyping the movie up but its soooo deserved.
AND DUDE THE SINGING AT THE SNAKES AT THE END!!! rachel did awesome at conveying the emotion. and snow, for as smart as he is, is stupid as hell for saying he killed his old self lmao. come on dude.
and the jabberjays repeating sejanus’s last words was so 😭 i want to go see the movie again but i don’t have the money for it 😪 but you can bet your ass that i’ll be buying the dvd for it as soon as it comes out!!
also i haven’t listened to either of those songs but i will definitely look into them so i know what you’re talking about :)

what do you think the most OP power MC can have is? personally I'm all in for telekinesis, it doesn't take that much strength to break ppls bones, and if ur doing that w your head, that's a nigh unbeatable combat strategy unless ur opponent outclasses you in speed or distance.
scarlet witch's fight scene at the beginning of infinity war showed a little of it too, how creative that kind of power can be even in close combat, it's really neat. I just rlly like the idea of glass canon MC, a powerhouse that can't take a punch if they can't block it lmao.
it really depends, all the powers have added abilities that are only unlocked the more your power stats grow so its different for every MC.
and yes, you're right. fighting against non-powered humans would be ridiculously easy lol telekinesis does take a lot of strength out of someone though, and its biggest weakness lies in its lack of longevity. MC will tire out quickly if they're not particularly in control over their power.
also infinity war happens to be my favorite marvel movie (endgame was overhyped imo) and scarlet witch was so bad ass. and I agree! I'd make my MC who is physically weak but then their actual power is so strong its like a shock to every opponent lmfao

This latest anime episode... I've just got to say Nedzu is seriously dumb in thinking bringing Izuku to UA even with all those safety measures is a good idea. It's good to keep the evacuees there but placing the villains target in with them by extension makes them targets too. The civilians are right to be worried. What if the villains turn up while Izuku is resting? They're wrong to be demonised by this episode.
Also Uraraka's speech is overhyped, clumsily written/said and solved nothing. Yes she's right in saying that Izuku needs support right now but taking him back to UA...again isn't the right move. Sure she says it isn't a permanent one but if I were a civilian I would want to know -
1) how long is he going to be here?
2) Did you transport him here secretly or make a massive scene about it like realistically the 1A vs Izuku show down would be? (As it's the later realistically the villains should catch wind of this and show up thick and fast soon - I'd want to be evacuated to another shelter.)
3) If things go tits up and the villains do show up - how will our safety be prioritised? Or will we just die thanks to an overpowered Shiggy's decay?*
*Side note - can those little evacuee cars even outrun Shiggy's overpowered decay? Lmao
During that speech to me at least - I didn't see her as an awesome hero like Nedzu did - she sounded like a hysterical child pleading the civilians not to be so mean to her poor, beaten down, dirty fellow friend and hero. This is especially true with how it was voice acted (no complaints - the VA acted it well but it just came across more overly emotional rather than inspiring to me.)
I just... Honestly recently I'm finding it hard to watch through an episode without thinking at least once "this is dumb" or "how am I meant to support this?" in relation to something a hero/hero student says or does. Which is really not what you want from the guys you are meant to be rooting for.
All of this. MHA really dropped the ball lately. Like good god

if not then 16, 21, 25 for turn because i need more spicy opinions :3
HEY FRIEND! OMG i will bring the SPICE lol. i threw in 12 because i feel like i never talk about this character ever but i secretly like really love and respect him??
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
HEWLETT!!!!! something i love about turn, they managed to show to show good and bad people on both sides. i love hewlett because not only did he have more of a heart than other redcoats but i especially LOVE one of those final scenes with him and abe and abe asks him something along the lines of what is he going to do after all this and hewlett is like "i have my books... science" or whatever and UGH THAT WAS JUST SUCH A HEARTWARMING SCENE FOR ME he's just a little science nerd who loves learning and somehow got swept into war and idk despite other questionable things he's done, i think deep down he's just a soft science nerd and i love him LOL.
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
hmmm... i just joined the fandom in january so i cant even think of anything hmmm... i really have no idea lmfao i mean i dont ship caleb/ben and i've seen that before
21. part of canon you think is overhyped
can i be honest i think everything is pretty much where it should be at hype levels?? LOL. okay you know what i had a thought. mary is not that slick. i like her, and she turned a corner, but like she pissed me off more than anyone in the show like GIRL GET A FCKN GRIP
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
BEN IS MY BOY PERIOD. I DONT TOLERATE BEN HATE!!!
BEN IS HOT. ANDRE IS HOT. BOTH OF THESE THINGS CAN BE TRUE !!!!
also for the record as much as i hated him, simcoe is def one of my fav characters. you know sam def had a blast playing him LMAO

ok actual final(?) thoughts on saltburn *spoilerinos*
im going to pretend that everyone exaggerated about specific scenes in that movie so that i would go into it thinking it was something else entirely.
obv i knew about the graveyard and the bathtub (tho i didnt know it was dick in the dirt and i didnt know it was slurping down the drain) but other than that was honestly going in blind. i knew it was set in the 2000s but i didnt realize it was going to be full on homage/subversion of the 2000s twee indie film. like that specific vibe of movies when a fuckin MGMT Summer Montage started happening i was going nuts over it like idk for some reason "set in 2000s" didnt register as THAT KIND OF set in the 2000s ykwim? anyway i kinda figured oliver was a lot more twisted than he let on specifically when he first threw farleigh under the bus when he caught him eating out a girl Every Day Of The Month. there were probably earlier hints but i dont remember i was too busy dying over the fact that 30 mins ago no cars go was playing in a college bar scene, but i was still shocked to find out that OHHHH LITERALLY EVERYTHING HE SAID WAS A LIE.
wrt this being a "too freaky/not freaky enough" movie: ofc the "too freaky" people are just cowards, but i dont think it was really meant to be full on like. pink flamingos eating dog shit or whatever? i really do think it was just the overhype about how weird it is and the people who just watch goth girl dirt ass fucking porn on the reg arent gonna be Phased by it but that wasnt really the point it was more about like, the insight into the character lol idk. and like at that point its up to the viewer whether or not they wanna empathize with the character at all i GUESS but even then idk i think everyone kinda sucked in all their own fun ways like farleigh was a dick, all of the fuckin family were just shitty rich people, the only maybe decent person was the blonde nerd right at the beginning of the movie. but personally as a freak enthusiast i do like going "i would do Literally Anything to become a manic pixie dream boy in a 2000s indie film" and oliver managed to do it i guess. ultimately felix's greatest sin was being a bland richboy character in comparison to ollie like jacob elordis job was literally sit there and look pretty lmao, but i like my psychotic evil boyxboy ships to go both ways ykwim like i want them trying to kill each other :(
closing thoughts: NEVER TRUST A TWINK NERD
