Adults with invisible disabilities aren’t strangers to the extra stress and anxiety caused by their experiences within the medical system.
The lack of acknowledgement of and regard for hidden conditions is not uncommon, and even when validated, physicians frequently deny patients their formal diagnoses.
For many, depression is acknowledged long before the condition for which a diagnosis is being sought, or even worse, the depression is instead blamed for the health struggles that continue to be discounted.
However, in cases like these, it’s frequently not the actual conditions that lead to the depression, but the sacrifices required, stress undergone, and trials faced just to be recognized in the medical system as symptoms become more difficult to manage.

Let’s talk about bullying. Bullying in the moment is difficult to address. Bullies in one situation are often bullied in another. Sometimes people aren’t aware of their own role in participating in bullying. Whenever someone attempts to stop bullying by punishing the bully, this gesture usually backfires. It often leads to more bullying, sometimes from the authority figure trying to intervene, and sometimes in the form of retaliation. The most effective way to stop bullying and the safest way for everyone is to change the culture. Big picture, Greater Good visionary change. In a culture of competition, bullying will always happen and will always be rewarded. In a culture of cooperation, wherein members of a social ecosystem look out for each other and value the success of each person, then bullying rarely happens. The reason that bullying campaigns fail is because bullying is only addressed after it’s happened. Bullying is too complicated and has too many layers of social consequence to address with any simple solution. Instead, we need to create a safer society with the shared values of tolerance, acceptance, support, and interdependence. These gestures are small ways to make a collective large change. This is a challenge with no hashtags. Just examine your interactions and reflect, consider if your actions have caused undue harm to someone/people who didn’t have due process to defend themselves. We want people to grow, and that will never happen if we block their Light. Be the light and not the shade. I was also getting more familiar with #WilliamChapman, #IndiaKager, and #DavidLatham, all slain by the police in the #757, and the nation hadn't heard a PEEP. - With the influence of local activists, family, and friends I founded #BlackLivesMatter757 now known as #BLM757 - We began our journey with the #757UnityProtest, peacefully shutting down 5 cities simultaneously at 7:57 pm on July 10th, 2016. 💔 I really don't know how much more I can take, but it ain't much. Went to check on this King today, I hadn't heard from him in a while. Only to find out that he committed suicide 1 year ago TODAY. This man was a great supporter of #BLM757 - He even had more brass than me... He stood toe to toe with the tank... When the Trump rally came, he never left my side protecting me ... We called, and rode up to the jail all night thinking they put the clamps on you after the cops pushed that girl. I NEVER saw this coming ... And that's the problem ...
