The dumbest thing I can think of in all this “queer-baiting” campaign people are going on is the complete lack of awareness. Even if the person we’re discussing comes from an accepting background, I want you to think very hard about out actors. How many of them continue to recieve big roles after they’re out? How many of them are typecast or written off?
You’re not just forcing someone to come out against their will and fuck up that process. You’re forcing someone to potentially sacrifice their career.

gestures wildly. it's about crafting a legend out of a living person. how the Ghost is something your friend made up on the spot to make you look cool, but then it slowly starts taking over your life. until you forget everything you believed to be true. until everyone you loved is gone. your clan is disbanded, your uncle disowns you, you have gone from a honorable nobleman to a wanted outlaw. BUT you did it for love - for the fact that you love your people and your island so deeply that you're willing to sacrifice your entire existence for them. it's not something any of their leaders have ever given them, and they see it, so they start turning to you more and more, telling about their encounters with you around survivor campfires, spinning tales until you are a seven-foot-tall monster who has risen from the dead to save them. you no longer belong only to your loved ones. you now belong to the entire island, and you will stay theirs.

Sorry for the ask but you’ve seen the giggle!?
I wish there was a way to hide what I wanna say for people who haven’t seen it but I unfortunately don’t think so,
Okay so, the toymaker was amazing! I loved seeing Ncuti, and I’m genuinly so excited for his stuff! I was a lil disappointed by the specials, they didn’t really feel like a celebration of the show, they felt like an expression for s4, if that makes any sense??
god i've got mixed feelings on that episode and it really annoys me bc it's the right kind of fun ridiculous episode that i should love and yet. hm. like first off the toy maker was sooo good, i love a campy villain and his whole vibe was spot on. ncuti really feels like the doctor to me, like he nails the vibe right away and i'm kinda disappointed we didn't see more of him in the episode. also your so right about them feeling more like parts of series 4 than general specials like ik they brought back the meep and the toymaker but to me it felt like when they brought back the macra in s3. like. modern episode but also these old guys are back. which isn't a bad thing it's just not the vibe I think they were aiming for. imo they should've focused wayyy more on ncuti's doctor, like this is his introduction, this is where he makes his first mark as the doctor but he's stuck playing second fiddle to 14 and it does a bit of a disservice to him.

Something I loved about heartstopper 2 is how it was repeatedly made clear that Nick doesn't owe anyone a coming out.
QUEER PEOPLE DON'T OWE ANYONE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THEM BEING QUEER
I repeat
NO QUEER PERSON OWES IT TO YOU TO TELL YOU ABOUT THEIR QUEERNESS
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU ARE
We either invite you in or we don't.

The older and more secure I get in my own identity, the less I find that words describe my experiences except in a very basic, literal, definitional sense. When I was 14 it seemed so important to nail my identity down, to meticulously match it with others' experiences, to describe every iota of myself with terms that nobody could really explain the meaning of. And that's sort of the point, I guess, there's no real meaning besides what an individual ascribes to a term when it comes to gender, but it's funny that now I have no words to describe my gender and I don't feel I need words to describe my gender. I suppose I should've seen it coming, I've never been comfortable describing my gender in any way. Now I just feel okay and secure that I don't like to and shouldn't have to. 🤷‍♂️

the sooner yall stop giving a fuck and getting up in arms about how other queer people choose to label THEIR experience the happier you will be i promise. nothing comes of infighting with other queer people over labels you dont understand

also re: my reblog abt not being entitled to celeb’s sexualities and forcing celebs to come out is bad, i will say personally idc if people speculate abt celebs sexualities bc honestly it’s just human to be curious and people have speculated abt celeb relationships and gossip forever and i don’t think there’s really any harm in that esp when it’s kept away from the celeb in question and as long as it doesn’t lead to you harassing celebs to come out or forcing them to feel like they have to come out to prove they’re not “queer baiting” you

trans people are not subsets of easily packaged ideologies that you can argue away. I don't care how many books or essays you've written if you can't engage with trans people like they are people. I don't wish for my or my friends' lived experiences to be used as talking points in some abstract theoretical argument. hypotheticals wither away in the face of real people, real lives, real friendships and real connections. if your thoughts when engaging with a trans person are about how you can convince them to detransition or to mull over the heresies you think they subscribe to, you are not seeing the person in front of you.
Jesus looked at people and saw them.
do you see me?

By the way, just because it's pride month doesn't mean you need to come out!! There's a lot of reasons to be in the closet and never feel guilty about the reasons. Especially if it's for safety, your well being is incredibly important. You are still living your truth to yourself, and honestly no one else is owed that explanation.
I know that pressure to come out and be open about your identity no matter the consequences, it's not always worth it. Your truth will still be there in safety.

The way people will immediately try to justify why queer is the most inclusive term to people who specifically do not want to 6e called queer is really fucked up t6h.
Idc where you stand on it 6eing a slur or whatever I think that it's fair to 6e uncomforta6le with the word and I think some of yall need to chill out with this shit.
If someone doesn't identify with the word that's for then to decide.
Anyway uh yeah don't call me queer, you're gonna call me a 6igender 6isexual.
