More thoughts on Kai stuck in the never space : (possible AU)

I'm no definitely stuck on the idea that time passes differently there. Ergo, he's been there for a few years, at minimum a decade when finally does get out again at some point

There isn't really lots of common food there (The banished five don't need food to survive in my opinion) so he got used to eating anything eadible. So moss, insects, whatever he can find really

Bonzle is also sharing some of her magical energy with him, so it's easier for him to survive without much food or water. You can imagine it as Kai carrying one of her eyes on a necklace like a blue orb.

Since Bonzle also doesn't have a need for sleep like Kai does, she usually covers guard duty. Without her Kai would probably barely sleep at all (he already does)

At one point Kai ends up picking up magic. Though I'm not sure how exactly yet, he probably goes by gut feeling and a combination of things that Bonzle knows and his experiences with magic users.

Inside the neverspace, there are some other creatures as well. Mostly of magical/mystical nature. Now or then Kai either fights them for practicing magic, or even hunts them for food. (Safe to say, eating magical creatures has some effects on his body as well.)

He then combines his elemental fire with his magic, and through that gets a more flexible fighting style. This definitely helps as he's basically trying to hunt down the other forbidden five inside the neverspace

Bonzle obviously tries to stop him but Kai is to stubborn so she ends up following him anyways to pull him out if a situation gets to dangerous

Kai and Bonzle definitely form a sort of codependency

Bonzle at some point also told Kai about an agent walker she met right before the blood moon, and he figured out the rest

About his looks

You can imagine it, but his clothes are pretty thrown together after so many years, with scraps he can find somehow. His main red is still but barely present after time, but he ends up combining the colors of the other ninja in to remember them better. (When you use magical energy needed for your survival to dye your clothes in other colors.)

His hair grows out, and when it's open Kai pretty much looks like his mom. Most of the time however it's braided with on of Nyas hair ties he still had in his pockets. At one point he also ripped up his ninja mask for some bandaids, and is using the rest of it now as a bandana

He also gets several new scars, be it from experemening with magic, or fights with either the remaining forbidden or other creatures existing in the never space.

That's it for now. I don't wanna put to much stuff in one post, but please tell me if you want more or have ideas foe your own. I also still don't have a proper name idea for this AU/canon divergence, unless I'm somehow predicting s2 part 2 but that would be wild.

Was watching this super obscure movie called Dragons: Fire and Ice. It's an old line from Mega Bloks about two warring kingdoms coming together to save their worlds and the dragons. For its time the story is pretty good. There's only two movies made so you'll have to watch it or look on the Wiki. But I love fantasy worlds and the premise makes it good matwrial for a crossover with Ninjago. So here's the story.

Alana is a commoner of the Yemaya people, a matriarchal duchy inspired by a real life African water goddess. When an immortal wizard freezes the Chieftess, Alana must go to another worlds to save her home. She meets my Ninjago OC Odette: together they go on an adventures to save The Yemaya and all worlds.

Alana possess an elemental control over Water though it is NOT the same Elemental Power as Nya. Alana's power comes from a gem once owned by the late Dragon Queen. Alana enjoys pearl diving, fishing and napping. She also has a tendency to be a people pleaser.

I know that no one is going to care about this but I need it somewhere so

Ninjago characters in dnd

Kai: fire genasi (and I can already hear the “oh ryn are you going to make them all match their elements?” no shut up you’ll see) I also see him as like starting to become a paladin but having to stop to take care of nya and started stealing so he’s a bit disgraced which gives him a fun lil chip on his shoulder

Nya: water genasi (yes I know what I said just wait) I just like the contrast of the siblings and I know it probably couldn’t biologically work but whatever. you know for a fact this woman is an artificer. We’ve all seen the stuff she built for samurai x (which I think she began to make to be a paladin like her brother but then decided to be her own person)

jay: you can not tell me this man wouldn’t be a wizard. I mean yeah maybe a bard but ✨wizard✨. Just imagine he’s just screwing around the junkyard and comes across a book of the arcane and just starts fucking around with it. He would either be a halfling or a (specifically) light blue tiefling with his ginger hair and the ram type horns that curl down to his jaw

Zane: warforged (obviously) his father was an artificer who wanted a child and is one of Nya’s idols. Now a lot of people are going to disagree with me but I think he would be a ranger/druid. Idk he just fits the vibe plus he could have his falcon as a friend (he would also dabble in clerical type magic cause he seems like the type to just pick up a book on medicine and read it cause he was bored)

cole: a lot of people might be mad at this but I think cole would be human. I’m not trying to “make him the boring one” I love cole I just think he’d be human. He would also be a monk because 1. It works with his powers and 2. He’s got that sort of connection with wu. It also works that his father was a bard and tried to “teach him the trade” per se so he knows a lot of bard-ish things so he can double as distractions for the party

lloyd: okay so for him I think he’d be like a dragonborn descendant. Like garmadad is a dragonborn (I know a lot of people would think of him as a tiefling but I like the vibes of a dark dragon look for him) hes very humanoid so he’ll have the fangs+red eyes+pointed ears look people give his character anyway but he could also have some scales around the edge of his face and on his nose for design. I also see him as a rogue but with his powers he could also be a warlock or something

pixal: SHE 👏 IS 👏 A 👏 PALADIN. I take no criticism she got all of Nya’s cool gadgets and shit and was like “alright time to be a paladin” (also warforged for obvious reasons)

what if i made up a magic system for ninjago. for no reason (transcript under the cut!)

(page one and two spread)

i make up my own NINJAGO MAGIC SYSTEM (my house now)

it’s lots more complicated and there are gray areas, things that don’t even apply to it, etc. etc. BUT. it’s kinda like a spectrum.

(below is a bar, on the left it’s labeled oni magic (onish) on the right dragon magic (draconic). from left to right, points are labeled spellcasters (clouse, io), Lord G*, Lloyd, Wu*, other elementals**, and core elements (fire, lightning, ice, earth). spellcasters is on the far left, Lloyd is in the middle, core elements is on the far right.)

So Basically,

- Spellcasters (ie. wizard shit.) use “oni magic”. they have a greater range, and can do almost anything magical w/supplements.

a canon example would be. just Clouse. (my oc Io is also an example. hiii ❤️)

- elemental masters use “dragon magic”. they are only limited to their specific element, but are much more powerful (even a spellcaster doing a Strong Ass Fire Spell can’t measure up to the EM of fire)

the CORE ELEMENTS are the purest examples of draconic magic. (Fire - Lightning - Ice - Earth)

any other elementals are DERIVATIVES. they are debatable (like, is metal from fire or earth?) but still draconic in nature.

**EXCEPTIONS!

- wind. i think it should be draconic but we don’t have enough info. elusive motherfucker. (wind dragons exist, so?)

- waster. is even older than Fucking God. that’s Wojira’s territory. maybe just an EM in name?

*Lord Garm. and Master Wu are Elemental Masters of Destruction and Creation respectively, but. only in name.

“Destruction” and “Creation” are NOT real elements.

methinks they adopted the “Elemental Master” titles during the Elemental Alliance days. wouldn’t that be neat.

as a tool designed to bring balance to the world, he’s kinda. both and neither.

functionally an EM, but with the energy base of a spellcaster. KINDA a real element.

Ninjago Hogwarts AU

Okay so, idek if this counts as a traditional AU because I’m basically just plopping the Ninjago characters into a modified version of the Harry Potter Canon, but here goes nothing

Wu, Garmadon And Misako

* Wu and Garmadon are direct descendants of Merlin, making them both very powerful Wizards.

* Garmadon was born with an Aptitude for dark magic, while Wu was very skilled with Transfiguration.

* Both began training in magic from a very young age

* As a child Garmadon came in contact with the venom of a basilisk (idk how or why, probably someone trying to harm him as he was from a legacy of a very powerful wizard). The venom mixed with the powerful dark in him caused a slow progression to evil

* Once they got to hogwarts, Wu was sorted into ravenclaw

* Garmadon was a hat stall. While garmadon himself was a gryffindor, the evil in him made him seem like a Slytherin. Because of this, he was put into Slytherin house

* In first year, the brothers met Misako, a genius muggleborn in Ravenclaw who’s speciality was ancient runes

* Garmadon and her fell in love; they started dating in their 6th year

* Garmadon was a chaser on the Slytherin quidditch team

* After they graduated they joined an alliance for the first wizarding war, similar to the order of the Phoenix

* Misako and Garmadon had a son, Lloyd, during the war

* Six months later, garmadon succumbed to the evil and left to become a death eater

* He was able to give the order’s secrets to Voldemort

* After the war ended, wu knew Voldemort would return and began a journey to find pupils who would be able to defeat him. Because Merlin was so powerful, with magic, he had control over different elements of the earth. He passed down this skill to his descendants, including Wu and Garmadon. Wu had Far more mastery of the skill that garmadon. He wanted to teach those skills to a new generation to give them a fighting chance

* He began to create spells to channel his special magic which he called “elemental magic”

* Garmadon was posed as a wanted wizarding criminal and muggle criminal, charged for the murder of millions. In reality, he was terrified of what he had done and ran away, fearing that his evil would hurt Misako and Lloyd

* Misako left Lloyd In a muggle boarding school for bad boys so she could do her own research and escape the world of magic

Kia and Nya

* Both of them come from a powerful pure blood lineage; they don’t know much about it though as their parents disappeared when Kai was 5 and Nya was 3

* They both showed lots of signs of magic through their childhood and sort of discovered the magic world by themselves

* At age 11 Kai’s Hogwarts letter came, delivered by Wu who guided him through the magical world and sent him to Hogwarts

* His was has a Dragon heartstrings core

* He was put in Gryffindor, through the hat did consider Slytherin for a second

* He took a while to warm up to the rest of his house; there were a lot of strong personalities clashing with his own strong personality

* He then met Cole, who was another Gryffindor who was a lot quieter and grounded than the others. They clicked right away and the first breakfast after the sorting, neither really wanted to sit with the other Gryffindors

* They found two other boys that were sitting outside the great hall, jay and zane and ended up becoming best friends

* He did warm up to his housemates soon enough

* He became chaser on the Gryffindor team

* He met another Gryffindor on the quidditch team, Skylor; another chaser, and they became close friends.

* They started dating in Kai’s 5th year

* Nya came to Hogwarts two years later after. The hat debated between Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin, but it eventually decided on Slytherin

* Her want has a thestral core

* She was very popular with literally everyone in Hogwarts but she gelled really well with Kai’s small group of friends

* She’s extremely intelligent though her favorite subject was transfiguration and defense

* She became Slytherin team beater (I mean c’mon this girl held up all the ninja with one hand in ‘ninja vs lava’

* She began dating Jay in her 4th year

* During the summers, they were trained by Wu in his strange form of magic.

* Kai found he had an aptitude for controlling fire with magic and Nya water

* They both led the younger resistance against Voldemort along with the others in the second war

* After school, both siblings became aurors.

* Eventually Nya became Minister of Magic and Kai became head auror

Jay

* He was a muggleborn wizard

* Wu found him at age 11 and explained everything to him and his parents, telling jay he had something special most wizards don’t have

* His wand has a unicorn hair code

* The hat decided between Ravenclaw and hufflepuff for him, but decided on Ravenclaw as it fit not only his genius intelligence but his quirky personality

* The morning after the sorting, he got really distracted by trying to figure out how the moving staircases work on his way to breakfast and got lost

* Another Ravenclaw, Zane found him roaming around, looking lost and brought him breakfast. They just kinda sat outside and had their breakfast, waiting for the rest of the Ravenclaws to arrive so they could follow them back to the common room.

* There, two other boys, Cole and Kai, found him and they become the best of friends

* He tried out for seeker on the quidditch team, but got keeper because the captain through he’d make an amazing keeper.

* He developed a real aptitude for transfiguration and that’s how he and Nya really became close. He was working on a transfigurations experiment and Nya, intrigued, asked if she could help

* Other than that, he was very good with improving muggle objects with magic

* Jay and Nya began dating in Jay’s 6th year

* Jay was prone to getting teased quite often, but he most always shrugged it off and didn’t let it bother him

* Wu trained him in the summer and he found he could control lightning with magic very well

* He became a leader in the resistance in the second war. His style of fighting, lighting fast blasts of magic that the opponent couldn’t keep up with, was very useful.

* After the war, he opened a workshop where he improved muggle objects with magic and invented muggle/magic combined technology

* He and Nya settled down eventually and had two kids

Cole

* He’s a halfblood wizard; his mother was a witch and his father is a muggle dancer

* His mom passed away when Cole was very young so he had little to no exposure to the magical world.

* Wu came when he was eleven and explained everything to him and his father and told him he had something most wizards don’t and took Cole through the magical world

* Cole’s wand has a thestral core

* He was a hat stall between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. His qualities could go either way, but his values leaned slightly more towards Gryffindor. The hat sensed that that would fluctuate and maybe even change fully as Cole grew up

* He was slightly overwhelmed by the Gryffindors at first and their strong personalities as Cole was very grounded and the Gryffindors were more flamboyant. He met Kai, who’s personality clashed with the others as well, and they became friends

* They met Jay and Zane there and became friends

* He became a beater on the Gryffindor quidditch team

* When Nya joined the Slytherin team as beater, they both practiced together a lot

* He had an aptitude for herbology and defense

* He’s friends with all owls in the Owlery and sometimes just sits up there with them

* He was trained to control earth with magic by Wu

* He also became a leader in the residence

* After the war, he became a magizoologist and took care of the magical beasts at Hogwarts

Zane

* He’s a special situation. He was built by doctor Julian, an extremely talented muggle mechanic. His wizarding friend then gave the child magic (I know that’s impossible l, but ya know zane’s a weird situation and I didn’t really know how to work around him)

* Julian knew a little about the magical world and taught Zane what he knew about it

* They were both shocked when his Hogwarts letter came. As he did for the others, wu comes and talks to Julien and Zane

* His core is also Thestral Hair

* His father also sends him to Hogwarts with a mechanical falcon instead of an owl

* He is sorted into ravenclaw immediately

* at breakfast the next day, he sees a confused looking boy roaming around. Zane thinks he’s lonely (he’s not, jay’s just confused) and Zane’s not too good with people and doesn’t have any friends yet so he takes his breakfast and grabs something for the boy and brings it to him.

* He and Jay become best friends and meet Kai and Cole that same meal

* He’s really good at all of his subjects, and is top of his class, though if had to pick his favorite it would be ancient runes or defense against the dark arts

* His intelligence along with Jay and Nya help the group get into all kinds of trouble

* He met PIXAL, another Ravenclaw, a year below him. They became best friends and she is initiated with their group

* They started dating in 7th year

* Wu trains him to use Ice with magic

* He’s also a leader In the resistance

* After, he joins the ministry and helps Nya with her minister of magic stuff

* His job is in the magical law enforcement section

Lloyd

* He’s a pure blood, son of Misako and Garmadon, but knows nothing about the wizarding world because he was raised in the boarding school

* When he got to Hogwarts, he had heard about his father’s ‘feats’ and was determined to be a Slytherin to make him proud and make him come back to Lloyd

* He has a Phoenix feather wand core

* He begged the hat to put him in Slytherin, but the hat knew he wouldn’t fit in there. He was sorted into Hufflepuff, mulch to Lloyd’s disdain

* He stubbornly tried to hang out with the Slytherin the first week, but they just made fun of Lloyd. In the end, that just resulting in him being the joke of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw and the Laughingstock of Slytherin. The Hufflepuff felt betrayed by him as well

* Finally giving up, he decided to eat breakfast alone, outside the great hall. There, he found a group of kids from all different houses who are here since didn’t want to be at separate tables

* He slowly became friends with Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Nya, Skylor and PIXAL.

* Cole and Nya were the first to let him into their group, but soon he was fully initiated, despite being 4 years younger

* Since he had nowhere to go over the summer, save the boarding school, he stayed with Kai and Nya who brought him to their training with Wu.

* Wu trained him as well and found that Lloyd was able to do the same unique magic as Wu and Garmadon

* Wu trained him, claiming that his power finally gave them a fighting chance against Voldemort

* At some point, when Voldemort is fully resurrected, garmadon is forced to come back to serve him, making things a lot more complicated

* He has wavering loyalties, but never harms Lloyd, even in the fiercest of battles

* Lloyd can speak parsletounge

* In Hogwarts, Lloyd has an aptitude for defense against the dark arts, but his favorite class is herbology

* He befriended all the house elves and hangs out with them in the kitchens.

* He speaks parseltounge as well, something his father passed down to him

* He is the Hufflepuff seeker

* Wu teaches him how to control energy with magic, a combination of all the other types

* He is also a leader in the resistance

* He manages to turn his father good at the end of the war

* After the war, he becomes a defense against the dark arts professor

Theory/possible AU on Kai in the neverspace

What if either Nya, Wyldfyre (those two were visibly the most/only ones affected by Kais dissapearing) and the others, or even Kai and Bonzle themselve somehow do manage to open a new gate. So Kai and Bonzle manage to get back to the back merged worlds.

But just like back in s11 with the never realm it turns out that time passes faster there, compared to the merged worlds. So for everyone else a few weeks or months passed when they finally manage to open a portal, but for Kai it's been YEARS. (Preferably at least 10 in my opinion.) The emotional drama would be perfect. Especially cause y'know, Kai isn't a nindroid like Zane and doesn't have any memory loss. The effects of that on him would be really interesting to see.

Though you know. I don't really think they're gonna pull that of. The reason that Zane usually gets hit with the heaviest violence, has so many deaths and so on is cause he's a nindroid and it's a kids show at the end of the day. They can "fix" a nindroid/robot more easily. If Zane loses an arm, he can just put it back on or get a new one without a problem, if a human/biological humanoid loses an arm in the show it's gone. They can get a prosthetic maybe, but their arm is gone, they have trauma and physical pain from it.

So yeah, my theory isn't that likely cause Kai might be the emotinal but not physical punching bag of the writers. It's very unlikely that they would significantly age up just one of the og characters and not the others. I can still dream and we have the world of fanfiction on our side. (Ideas for an AU name please for the case I get more ideas)

The first days (part 1)

After the portal closed, they walked. They didn't really know where, it's not like either Kai or Bonzle had a map for this dimension, but they kept walking. Kai just hoped they wouldn't randomly meet with on of the forbidden five, or four, since one of them swapped places with Kai after all. He didn't like to admit his own weakness, but if the storys about them were true, then there was no way for Kai to beat the four or even just one of them on his own. Especially when he would probably need to protect Bonzle in a fight as well.

"Do you have a plan?", Bonzle asked, pulling him out of his thoughts.

"Find a portal somehow, I guess. Or create a new one. Either way, we should check out how this place works. Aside from the random gravity rules."

Though, to call that a plan was probably to much. More like a general idea to get back to if the chance for it ever comes. Lloyd and the others would be able to deal with the one of the five that escaped, right? So they would be fine eventually, it was all that mattered.

But he wouldn't tell Bonzle that he basically gave up hope to get out of this place. Not after he just told her that 'Ninja never quit' and everything. Just like he never told Nya when they didn't have enough food for the two fo them, or couldn't afford her school materials, after telling her that he earned good money that month.

Lying wasn't very hard for Kai if it meant not making others worry. The situation may be vastly different, but he would adapt. Eventually.

A little voice in his head, honestly sounding a lot like his sister, tried screaming at him how this was one of his many bad habits he should get rid off. But ignoring that voice was another thing he just learned over the years.

He would just have to deal with this situation live gave him. He always did. One way or the other.
